Thank you! biggrin
I just love her so much. Honestly, her music makes me so happy no matter what mood I'm in.
ARTPOP deserved so much more than what it got. But I'm ready for the next era.

ARTPOP Monster Thank you! biggrin

ARTPOP deserved so much more than what it got. But I'm ready for the next era. Same here, she's one of the greats in my book. I didn't particularly enjoy ARTPOP as much as her earlier work, but I support her 100%. I'm excited for her next album.

I'm not really new, but I figured I'd fill this out. Preferred name: My name is Enj, so you can call me that, or any version of my username. Age: Probably older than you. Sex: Male. Country: UK Birthdate: 13 October Fav Music: Well, I'm a professional musician, so...that's a hard question. I'm into a lot of different kinds of music. Fav Movie: That's also a hard question. If I had to pick just one, I guess I'll go with The Fall. Fav. Color: Red and black. Sexual Orientation: Gay. Extra Information: I'm not nearly as active on Gaia as I used to be, but I still enjoy playing around with my avatar and posting in guilds. I work as a violin teacher and freelance musician for hire, and I also work in a substance abuse treatment facility. I'm married and polyamorous. Feel free to ask me how that works sometime. I'm a pretty friendly bloke, and I'm always happy to chat, give advice, and meet new people. smile

Yay, someone else from my part of the world! Is Devil's Carnival cool? Someone as telling me about that recently, and it sounded like something I'd enjoy, although I'm not a big Emilie Autumn fan (don't dislike her, just haven't heard enough of her stuff to have a strong opinion one way or the other). I guess my question is, is it something that stands alone on its own merit, or is it more like a glorified music video that's unlikely to appeal to audiences outside of her fanbase? I'm a violinist, so there's that. I'm not even sure why I care so much about collecting information on it. I've wasted my time watching far shittier flicks that I knew much less about going in, so I'm not sure why I'm acting like my time is too precious to waste on just going and watching it and making up my own mind about it, but...indulge me.

The first Devils Carnival, you honestly don't need to be a fan of Emilie to watch it, she's only in the short film for around 10 minutes. And other than a song she sings, she has no speaking roles. The film itself does stand out on it's own, just like Repo the Genetic Opera. It has stunning visuals and clever imagery. I think she has a bigger role in the second film, but it isn't out yet so that's just an assumption. The only downside to the short film is anyone whose asked me about the film, and then gone on to watch it, seemed a little disappointed with it. It does have a rushed plot, but by god, I must have watched it at least 30 times.

It definitely sounds like something I'd enjoy. I appreciate films that are highly stylised visually. Actually, the film I listed as my favourite, The Fall, has amazing visuals. I put a link to the trailer in my original intro post on this thread, I definitely encourage you to check it out if you enjoy visually stunning cinema. Repo has also been on my list of films to watch for a while, so...I see a movie night in my near future. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
