The staff have been discussing custom prices, and how much we’d like to be payed. But here’s the thing; we aren’t you guys. The customers should definitely have a say in how much y’all are willing to pay, and your opinion on customs. So, this is where this thread comes in.

Please post the form below stating, in detail, what you believe the price of customs should be. Given, we do want to be payed a bit more than just a mill for our work, due to the rising gaia economy. Also, we love your feedback, but in this thread, please only post once unless told otherwise. You’re more than welcome to discuss things in thread or pm the mule if you have any concerns.

Entrants will be entered into a raffle for their very own custom by Lollipop x L u x u r y.

    For clarification, please state what you're willing to pay. uwu In your opinion, what prices should be. It's okay if it's under a mill. We want to know what you guys prefer /pats ;u;

Kit growth: Kit - Adult +500k to 700k
Charm growth - Adult + 800k to 1mil

Complex Markings- 600k

Multiple forms - Depending on complexity I think a colorist should be able to make this price based on the character..but it could at least start at 2 million BASE PRICE and go up from there depending on amount of forms + extra amount colorist thinks is fair.

Cosplay - +3 million with add on's from the above prices. aka if it has complex marks & is extreme edits etc etc.

Re-custom - Re-custom should be the price first paid for the charm + 2 mil - 4 mil

Charm growth + State how much extra you’d like to pay for charm-adult growth: 500k

Complex Markings +State how much extra you’d like to pay for markings that the colourist finds hard/tedious: 100k+

Multiple forms +State how much extra you’d like to pay for multiple images for a character:

I'd double or triple the price of one form. So, let's say the price for the custom is 10mil and you wanted two extra forms for that custom, that's three alternates counting the original. The custom would then be 30mil.

Cosplay +State how much extra you’d like to pay for cosplay characters: I don't ask for cosplays, ever. XD; That's a question for someone else. I imagine far higher than normal?

Re-custom +State how much extra you’d like to pay for recustomization of a pre-existing charm: Personally, I'd give them whatever they wanted if I had it. But, if the charm was already a custom, why not 75% of what was paid? 10mil custom would then need 7.5mil to recustom?

Honestly, I can't price for my life. These are all my personal opinions.

Kit growth: For growing, maybe add another 1-3 mil depending on edit level
Charm growth: For charm to adult... another 2.5-5 mil depending on edit level

Complex Markings: If it's markings a colorist finds difficult, I would say an additional 2 mil for the effort required.

Multiple forms: Depending on difficulty level, an additional 4-5 mil per form would be fair.
Cosplay: I believe this would fall under 'Heavy/Extreme' customs and would possibly have multiple forms. So I think between 15-18 mil would be fair for the base price of a cosplay, and the multiple form fee could be attached if necessary.
Re-custom: For redos or recustoms, the original pet price would be fair unless the edit level of said pet is changing. For example, say an unedit pet is gaining mod edits. Then the price would just be that of a mod custom. c:

Hope this helps!

Unedit: 5mil I think for the most part this should stay fairly cheap, to encourage newbies to join. Of course, complicated markings can add to this. ♥
Minor edit: 10mil
Moderate edit: 15mil
Major edit: 25mil
Extreme edit: 50mil - ??? With the way the market works now, I feel like this could be easy to accomplish. I know it's also not amazingly awesome compared to it, but there are people just starting on Gaia and those who don't really play the market enough (especially in the B/C) to have amazing funds. I feel like this can vary. As you can pass into Extreme and then go even further then that.

Add ons

Kit growth: + 150k State how much extra you’d like to pay for kit-adult growth.
Charm growth + 200k (There's going to be a stage before kit?!)
xxxx I feel like these should be fairly cheap. I know it's extra work, especially depending on how edited the kit is. But uuugh. No sure where to begin. |D

Complex Markings + For the most part, I would say this could vary by colorist. As some may be more comfortable with certain designs then others.

Multiple forms + I think it depends, in some cases I would say it could almost double. Like, in the case of a Sailor Scout, when you want a Civi and Senshi form and they're both pretty different.

Cosplay + Based on Edit Level I don't think it's fair to charge someone more then the edit level cost just because it's a Cosplay. It should be up to the artist and the individual ordering to determine the edit level they want for their pet, and then base a price around that. Let's say I want Puppycat I would consider him probably a Mod Edit, since its just coloring and a cat tail + Collar. So I'd pay 15mil for him. But in the case of Sailor Jupiter I'd be paying for both forms + Extreme edits so I'd pay about 100mil+ for her. Plus, when you consider there is a cosplay reserve thread, people aren't fighting over Cosplays as much. So....yeah. I've always thought it should just be based on edit levels.
Re-custom + 1/2 to full price I'd say it would depend on the pet and the colorist. There is a pretty good starting point, but either way you are making a pet from scratch.

Kit growth: +State how much extra you’d like to pay for kit-adult growth: It really really depends on how many edits are being put on it. 500k-2mil?

Charm growth + State how much extra you’d like to pay for charm-adult growth: 500k + Whatever for kit.

Complex Markings +State how much extra you’d like to pay for markings that the colourist finds hard/tedious: 500k-1 mil

Multiple forms +State how much extra you’d like to pay for multiple images for a character: Again, I think this depends on how many changes are going into the forms, Generally... I'd say one lower on the rung depending on edits. For example; Minor changes 1 mil, Moderate 3 mil, Major 8 mil, Extreme Changes.. 15-20 mil

Cosplay +State how much extra you’d like to pay for cosplay characters: Base price of custom (however many edits) +5-10 mil?

Re-custom +State how much extra you’d like to pay for recustomization of a pre-existing charm: I would honestly say about half price of whatever the base is/originally paid. They really shouldn't pay more or the same price for a pet they already own. Unless adding edits... Then half of whatever the base for the edits they want to add plus half of whatever the base was.
Like... if the pet was originally unedited and the base price is 1 mil, if you half that it's 500k. Say they want to add moderate edits at a base price of 8 mil, so if you half that it's 4 mil. So the total would be 4.5 mil. (I hope that makes sense.)

**Just throwing out my two cents.. Please understand, this is what I'm willing to pay. I really don't expect that everyone can pay this much. That said... I am a fan of keeping prices low and letting people tip as much as they want. It helps save face and I think it creates a much more comfortable environment for those who can't pay these kinds of prices.

Moderate edit: 3-4 mil
Major edit: 6-7mil
Extreme edit: 8 mil I'm hesitant to go to 10mil. I mean I was tell bulldad if it wasn't for the fact that a friend gave me over 3 bil I wouldn't have over a mil. So I'm really nervous to even say this much but I'm willing to pay this now as I have the gold but just be careful. I feel like a shop just starting up needs to be careful with their prices because people might not want to come into a new shop with prices over a mil.

Add ons

Kit growth: I would say 500k max.

Complex Markings I would say 250k max

Multiple forms: ehhh probably like 1-3 mil depending on the custom type.
Cosplay I think they should just be as much as Major/extreme edit. I don't thin they need to be a different price. I think it's bit unfair to be a different price, really.
Re-custom I really like Aps's idea on this. Half the price of the originally custom is.

Unedit: 500k
Minor edit: <-- I think this depends on what you consider minor. I mean I can toss some ear edits, jewelry and most tail edits on a pet in little to no time with minimal work. But I know most only consider minor jewelry to be minor edits. Depending on what you considered minor, I would say a mil would be reasonable. (1 Mil)
Moderate edit: <--- Again it depends on what is considered 'mod' edits. I would put hair here, for most people hair doesn't take terribly long. (I mean depending on the length of hair it can take me anywhere from an hour up but still.) LIGHT clothing, I suppose would also be placed here. 2 - 3mil, simply because I know as a colorist I spend a lot of time trying to make hair look natural and it can take awhile.
Major edit: 3 - 4 mil. Maybe 5 mil depending on what you consider major edits. Like full clothing is a hassle to do it really is. It takes a while to get it all correct and what have you. Shoes are the arch enemy of most colorists and I don't even know if five mil would tempt me to try shoes. It's a lot of line editing, reshading, coloring and what have you.
Extreme edit: 6mil and above. Closer to 10 mil I would say. Extreme edits for me are like full body armor, plus a pet, plus a weapon, plus hair, you know when you basically have like... maybe three lines of the original linework left. That's getting over the top I think and you are basically redrawing them an entire picture in the general shape of the linework. I've done this before, it SUCKS to be paid dirt for literal hours, blood, sweat and tears.

Add ons

Kit growth: Depends, + 100 to 300k depending on edited or not. Like I wouldn't put all the edits on a kit, not even close, but still kits are always awks to edit.
Charm growth + 100k but then I don't edit these stages. Not really.

Complex Markings + 500k to 1mil. Everyone has different levels they are comfortable with. However, I have a pet, Izuchi and he is excessive rainbow henna. That s**t takes FOREVER to get looking just right. You could easily blow two hours on the markings alone. Regardless of if it's line edits or not it's still extreme amounts of time put into one pet.

Multiple forms + 200k to 3mil <-- This is such a drastic change because it depends on the forms. Like Hazlin, I have a version of her with her mask, gun and bomb and a version without. It's not terribly difficult or time consuming to do but I would still toss an extra 500k for that. But if it's like a version of this character in normal clothes and a version of it in feral form then yeah you are racking up a lot of time spent on one order and there should be a nice reward at the end of it.

Cosplay + I... don't know. Cause like, cosplays range in complexity. So what would you be paying for just like... the rights to that cosplay? Like I'm not so sure I would charge someone for the rights to a cosplay? So I'm not sure what you are getting at here. I would say just the base price of a custom wherever they fall in that. So I wouldn't tack on any additional fee.
Re-custom + That REALLY depends. Why are you having to recustom the pet? Did someone completely botch your custom? Not follow your form? Then I think it should be free. However if it's something like, I wanna recustom this pet and put scars here because of an rp that happened then hell just charge them 500k or whatever. If it's a small change to a custom then I wouldn't see the big deal. (I'm also working under the assumption that you wouldn't completely redraw the pet.) However if someone wants the pet completely redone for whatever reason that wasn't colorist error then I think the whole custom price should be charged. Or 75% Something that isn't terribly low.

Charm to adult - 500k - 2mil - 5mil

Complex Markings: 1mil+ depending on the artist

Multiple forms: I'm not entirely used to dealing with this kind of thing, so I'd say anywhere between 500k to 500mil dependent on the artist.

Cosplay: Base price (dependent on growing or not + edits) 50mil

Re-custom: I've never actually seen this done in any B/C shops myself so I'm not entirely sure how I'd even think of setting a price. I'm thinking an artist should set their own price depending on what the person wants (edits, total redo, ect.) I'm going to hazard a guess and go with 500k to 3mil.

Really, this is hard to consider since there are two camps here, those with millions and those with billions or more due to the gold generator and cash influx. So, I guess I'll do what I think would be reasonable for the shop in general. Gonna try to stick with the idea that most people have about 50-100 mil on the norm, or can make that much relatively easily. It's hard, you can't expect a reasonable artist salary gold amount in these shops to to the disparity.

Unedit: 500k
Minor edit: 650k
Moderate edit: 850k
Major edit: 1 mil
Extreme edit: 2 mil

Add ons

Kit growth: + 250k
Charm growth + 350k

Complex Markings + 100k

Multiple forms + Double the base price, only if the forms are drastically different. This doesn't include optional clothing versions, with or without wings, etc. In those cases, I'm not sure what price to put on it, unless it is requested in a custom. If a colorist decides to just do it, I wouldn't charge for it.
Cosplay + I'm not a fan of additional prices for Cosplay as is. The edits required vary on the Cosplay and easily fit within the base prices, considering many Customs are just as tedious and difficult as a Cosplay.
Re-custom + Half to the full price of the original custom depending on how much is being redone or added onto, if a pre-made is from a raffle or other event, half the price of what it would fall into edit wise.

In Addition:

Because of the great difference in gold totals depending on the user, I would suggest including a tip section in any format. Those with lots of gold to throw around will most likely leave a nice or even hefty tip. So, that would be a way of keeping the gold prices reasonable for those with only millions and allowing those with a lot of gold to pay what they feel your work really should be worth.

I feel that's a happy medium between prices and what you actually make per custom. Averaging it out would likely make a single custom come out more around what the artists feel they should be making.
