xxx Mortdecai has a pretty easy going outfit style. He has been described as hipster. The only thing that he keeps on his person constantly is a necklace that he was told came from his real parents; a Pokemon tooth necklace. He treasures it above all things and keeps it with him always. That being said, he likes shorts or skinny jeans. He wears anything form tank tops to t-shirts to sweaters. He very rarely wears anything but boots, though sometimes he'll wear sandals. He has piercings running from his lobe up to the rim of his ear. Tattoos run along his arms and back, as well as his calves. Most are Pokemon, some are watercolors or geometric shapes. He has a tattoo of his Chatot on the back of his calf, with different musical notes surrounding him. Each of his sleeves has three Pokemon from his team back home; one consisting of Chatot, Luxray, and Leafon, the other Rampardos, Stunky, and Garchomp.

xxx Mortdecai has a very easy going, almost surfer-esc personality. He's been described as easy going and gentle, as well as hyper and friendly. Sometimes people compare him to dog Pokemon; such as Growlithes and Poochyena's. Which is fine by him! He likes to be friendly and let everyone know that he's there to help no matter what! The problem sometimes is that he is a little too friendly. Though with that being said, he's never really had an issue with anyone being rude to him back. And when they are, he blows them off or speaks his mind straight out. He's firm in speaking his mind, often times doing so more than anything. That has gotten him in trouble at times, but he has a firm belief in being honest, and that it is the best solution to everything.
xxx It's very hard for Mortdecai to get angry. Like. Very hard. He'd rather just brush it off and let things roll off his shoulders than to get worked up about it. Being worked up and dwelling on something that angers him isn't in his agenda. He's got a busy schedule and too much to do in order to sit and wallow in his anger and sadness. So instead he pretends it doesn't exist.
xxx Developing a rather helpful personality, he is always there for people. He likes to assist people, and ensure their safety and health. If that means that he is giving up the shirt on his back, he will. He's done it before. If it means he needs to go withdraw cash or buy someone food, so be it. He's a giving, gentle soul. And he won't do anything but help people. Sometimes he gets taken advantage of, but he brushes it off and allows it. He doesn't want to let anyone hold him back, and so he allows every bit of anyone taking advantage of him happen. If there is a higher power, he's gunna make sure he's going up and not down!

xxx Some may know the name Diya as that being related to a wealthy family from Kalos. Others, know it as a family that supplied them with the only way to have a child. Mortdecai was adopted from the Diya family when he was born. His parents, Maya and Dia, wanted to adopt a child. The put out a request, and the Diya family offered. When it came out that there were twins, the two pairs of parents agreed to each keep one. So, Maya and Dia collected their new baby boy, and named him Mortdecai. They offered their numbers and information to the Diya family, in case they ever wanted the twin boys to reconnect.
xxx The small family of three lived in Sunyshore City, very happily. Mortdecai was raised by his mothers and adored upon. He knew he was adopted, being of dark skin where his parents were white. But he didn't have a problem with it. He chose to have a double last name; Taylor-Diya. And he loved his parents to death. He grew up watching his mother, Maya, grooming Pokemon. His mother, Dia, was a stay at home mom. He loved both of them, and ended up growing up around Pokemon and adoring them.
xxx When he was around ten, he met his first Pokemon. he was out for a walk, when he saw a Chatot. He sat with it, watching it as it watched him. hours passed before the Chatot spoke, saying something along the lines of hello and time and home. Mortdecai was delighted, and spoke back. Eventually he went home, but he started to go back to that spot every day to talk to the Chatot. He taught it different words and how to speak better sentences. One night, he went home, and the Chatot followed him. He never caught it, but he and the Chatot stayed together all the time.
xxx He ended up naming the Chatot after his favorite singer; Leto. He and Leto formed a powerful pair together. He went out into the world and went on an adventure; caught tons of Pokemon and started going gym by gym, winning and losing. Leto was always at his side though. Though good times and bad. He eventually challenged the elite four, and lost. But he kept himself pepped up. He thanked them, and applauded them, before going back home. It was then that he realized he needed to follow a passion he'd found out about while traveling. He packed up his things, and only took Leto with him, before biding his parents good-bye, and moved to Kodo.
xxx Mortdecai moved quickly into Jinko City, and found a small place to rent out. He spent months cleaning it up and making it own; painting and filling it with pictures that he sketched out and with proper equipment for what he had in mind. Eventually, he was ready to open; but there was a problem. He didn't have the Pokemon he needed. So at the moment, he is closed, though plans to open as soon as he can!

xxx Mortdecai trains each Pokemon in special ways. He tries to understand what they want to do for themselves, as well as what they want to do to assist what his goal is. He trains them to ensure that they can do their jobs and do them happily. He only takes in Pokemon with good natures, careful not to get any that could cause harm. He's patient and calm, and knows when they are truly ready to start their jobs.
