Fliers were made up, pamphlets were sent, advertising occurred across Kodo.
Due to an influx in the number of pokémon in the region, officials from the Natural History Museum in Jinko City had decided that something had to be done to stabilise the ecology, and discourage the scavenging, of pokémon in the immediate surrounding area of the Calamus Plains.
Their solution had been, simply, to invite trainers to the region, with the promise of a full day of free accommodation and facilities.
Trails, and areas, were mapped out for people to focus on, and Jinko was ready to welcome hopeful pokémon trainers to a makeshift, and temporary, 'safari zone'.
All visitors were given a guideline's pamphlet with a welcome message:
'Greetings from Professor Salt! We, here from the Natural History Museum's research department, welcome you to our a humble town and thank you for coming to our aid today! For the last few months, as Winter has given over to Spring, as pokémon have become more active and numerous, we have noticed a rather larger than expected number right on the outskirts of our fair city. This population boom is wonderful, however it is also problematic. These pokémon are too numerous for the environment they currently inhabit to sustain them, and so close to our urban environment, this could lead to various problems. So, please, kind trainers, we would like to invite you to explore and catch pokémon in the areas which we have mapped out. Guides are manning perimeters should you need any assistance. Signed Prof. Salt, Ecology Research Dept., Jinko City.'
Guides waited to hand out, or update devices with, maps of the area.
All staff were quite relieved when the weather held out to give a pleasant, sunny, day that was bound to encourage plenty of noticeable pokémon activity.

[OOC RULES AND GUIDELINES]: No more than two pokémon to be rolled for per player, you may re-roll only once overall. You may use both rolls in the same area, but you must state you are doing so. This ORP will last indefinitely, however the chance for catching pokémon will last only for one week- there will be no rolling for pokémon after 5 pm EST, Saturday 11th April. TO ROLL FOR A POKÉMON: Each character who has come to take advantage of the invitation has been given a map, either paper or virtual (on 'dex, 'gear, etc) marking 3 different areas where pokémon can be found and caught- these are marked '1', '2', and '3'. Please state in your post if you are rolling for area 1, 2, or 3, and then generate a random number between 1 and 12. Have fun, and good luck! ^.^

Tinker shifted his weight from one foot to the other, the almost frail young man half chewing his lip as he stood rooted in place as he waited for his map. Tytalba pressed beside him, the pale arcanine rumbling with a growl too low to hear. The trainer forced a smile as he found his fingers knotted in the pokemon's pale mane. "N-nothin to worry about, Talba. It's gonna be fun." His shakey voice was hardly confidence inspiring, but Tytalba relented.
The two seemed markedly mismatched--a frail, stuttering trainer dwarfed by the pale, protective arcanine. They were supposed to be a Pokemon reserved for the brave, the courageous. Not for a trainer that was scared of his own shadow. Tinker smiled, and quietly thanked the nice lady who handed him his map. Tytalba might have been served better by a braver trainer, it might be true, but as the arcanine shot that nice lady a scathing look, a genuine smile broke across his face. "C'mon Talba." He ruffled the forelock adorning that massive head, "Gotta catch 'em all, right?" Tytalba's only reply was a huff as he shot the lady one last dirty look before resuming his usual pose, joined at the hip with his trainer.
It wasn't long before they found themselves in area two, Tinker hesitating before the long grass. Anything could be in there. Anything! And it was then that Tytalba rather unceremoniously thrust his trainer forward with a hearty head bump to the rear, and Tinker found himself face down in that so terribly long grass.

Having come across a flyer, the grunt Keita had decided to check out the situation. She wasn't planning on causing a stir, just seeing how this event was going to happen. There were no orders to go there for her, but no harm in seeing what it was all about right? Besides, more pokemon was always good.
After receiving her map, she began to question which area to go to first. She hadn't been to the outskirts of this place before, so this area was all new to her. Maybe she could get some help from her Snivy, Delta. After all, she saw him as a really smart pokemon. Not only that, but he was already out and about with her!
Delta wasn't quite sure what to think when his owner began to talk to him about what area to go on the map, having been looking around at their current surroundings. However, he was there to help her in any way she needed. So he randomly pointed at an area.
"Area one it is!"

Tytalba promptly seated himself, waiting for his trainer to right himself. He hadn't quite meant to knock him down, but couldn't quite muster any guilt for doing so. Tinker was huffing--and fussing, judging by his tone, and the arcanine hung his head, his spine curling under like a puppy. But as Tinker's hand landed on a tell tale yellow and black leg, his ears shot forward as his face began to wrinkle into a snarl. For a moment, four faces and three pairs of eyes stared at each other. It was then that Tinker screamed.
The flurry that followed somehow ended up being one rather messy knot. The spinarak, seeming just as afraid as the person who was now too scared to let go, used the only attack it thus far knew--stringshot. As it escalated until the two were sufficiently stuck in place and, after much thrashing, even more surely stuck together, Talba found himself relieved that not only did his trainer seem to be mostly unhurt, there was hopefully no one close enough to see.

Even though she had ended up with a full plate of things to do, Citrine had found some time to train. Time away from the trainer center, away from other KOS volunteers, away from the beach. She had come to the plains to work with her pokemon, and maybe even catch another one or two... dozen. (A girl could dream, right?)
Her pilowswine, Betty, was beside her. Citrine was sure that Nornsteen, her gengar, was quite put out by the fact that she wasn't out with her trainer this time. But Betty needed some work too. She'd gotten stronger lately, and learned some new attacks. So it was good to take her out for some training. And she'd just buy her gengar some icecream later or something.
"Isn't this great, Betty?" The girl absently asked her pokemon. "Being out here, it's like a vacation or something!" She took a deep breath then thumped a fist against her chest. "Alright! Let's do this! ...ok ow that kind of hurt." She rubbed the spot where she'd just hit before looking around. There were lots of people out here today. She wondered if she'd even find anything. "Let's go to area 2, shall we? Maybe there won't be a lot of people, and there can be a lot of pokemon."

The moment the souls of green boots struck the ground of the makeshift safari zone their wearer peeled into a run that took him in any direction that felt right. He didn't care what aria he was in, or where he would end up, he just wanted to get in, find some Pokemon to battle, learn and train as much as he could with his companion Treecko, who was clinging to the back of the boy's backpack as they burst through bushes and skidded back to and from the dirt trail.
Unknowingly he found himself in Aria 2. A young boy, looking no older then 12 years old, with tall spiky black hair and bright attentive eyes, leaped from the path and into the bushes, making his way through the tall grasses and thick brush, concealing himself and searching for some way to learn something new about being a pokemon trainer.
A bulletin had been posted on the boards at the trainer's center about an event involving an overpopulation of Pokemon, Gon had been staying at the Trainer's center over the winter, training and learning as much as he could. The winters had been bitterly cold, colder then he had ever been used to, and had to opt for wearing a pare of pants that he had bought from his earnings in battle. As soon as the weather permitted it though, Gon was back in his green shorts, his legs exposed more now but it freed up his movements significantly, as he crawled his way through the under brush he couldn't help but feel a measure of gratitude for the extra freedom.
"Alright- first thing." Gon said in a low voice to the Treecko crouching just next to his head. The pare of them settled in the deep shade of a bush, hidden within but able to peer out in search for anything that passed. "We've got to learn how to sneak up on our pray, so we can catch it by surprise." Treecko nodded in understanding, waiting for his trainers lead! The smaller Pokemon had to do a double take however as Gon's face was suddenly wearing a deep perplexing frown. "Hmmm... but how do we do that?" He mused allowed wearing a wide eyed shrug from Treecko
(Tinker)
From an aria not to far from then Gon and Treecko suddenly heard a scream, prompting the pare to start and leap into action. With a sharp rustle of bushes Gon was on his feet, his head bursting up from below the bushes, Treecko clambering into his hair to get a look, just in time for them to witness a human accompanied by a large Archanine wrestling with what looked like a huge spider. The boy's eyes widened as he continued to watch, eyebrows arching high.
