The Guardian's record show that:
Seraphina's childhood was a bit unusual. Born as a forerunner, rather then a groundling, she was subjected to minor discrimination from other children in her age group; whom were mostly groundlings themselves. It all added up on her, the stress, the discrimination, everything. To the point where one day, at the age of 13, she got into a fight that resulted in the death of her opponent. Not like she hated the kid, but she did it to prove a point, for reasons that made sense for herself. Naturally, the other child's parents decided to take action, and so she was provided with two options. Either go to Juvie, or sign up for the early recruitment program for the Guardians.
And she did sign up, rather then being taken to prison. However, about a year in, she was taken off to the Science district because of "questionable" behavior that she often displayed. She would just sit and do nothing, even in the middle of training or schooling. Further analysis after months of review showed that she was actually incredibly intelligent, with an IQ of 153. But she also had ASPD. Anti-social personality disorder. In order to make her the soldier that they wanted her to be, they had to "release" her from this rehabilitating trait. With all of the drugs that they pumped into her and all of the mental torture done on her mind in order to control her, they found that her mind was in fact, capable of being a trickster. More dugs, neuro-implants, and even more horrifying torture unlocked latent abilities uncommon in the Guardian ranks. The neuro-implants stabilized her mind, and they released her back in the care of the Guardians at 18. 3 years later, she is still trying to forget the Science District and integrate back into normal society.
