You arrive in the ruins of a fallen tower. The air smells clean, salty, and you can hear the ocean, far-off and steady like the beating of a heart. The seaside wall remains strong, but there is a window through which you can see the frothy whitecaps of the water and the stony precipice before you. A climbing flower crawls across the floor, white blossoms muted under the overcast sky, and spills down the staircase to the lower floor. This far from the forest, it smells like rain. In the other direction, perhaps fifty yards from the base of the tower, there sprawls a forest of evergreens and bright orange leaves. Across the field below you, something dark and inhuman crawls. It is a youma, but it doesn't seem to have sensed you yet. Maybe you'd better stay up here for the moment and take stock of what you have.

MECHANICS Your opponents will be determined by a 3d6 roll. The first number will indicate the number of enemies in the mob, the second number will tell you the number of youma in the group, and the third number will tell you if there's a Captain in the group or not. There are only three Captains in the game, so once the three Captains have appeared, the third die will be dropped.
First die: Self-explanatory. 1 = One enemy. 6 = six enemies. Second die: Also pretty self-explanatory. 1 = one youma in the group, 6 = six youma in the group. If there are more youma rolled than there are enemies in the group, then the entire group is youma. There is no overflow. Third die: If a 2 or a 5 is rolled on the third die, a Captain has appeared.
From there, the DM will roll damage and indicate the senshi/knight each enemy is attacking. To consolidate posts, all of these will be rolled by d12s and in ascending rank order: so youma, then lieutenants, then captains, then generals.
The Negaverse stat table looks like this: Youma - 50HP | Rolls a 12-sided damage die Lieutenant - 100HP | Rolls 2d12 [2-24 dmg] Captain - 150HP | Rolls 3d12 [3-36 dmg] General - 200HP | Rolls 5d12 [5-60 dmg]
Every player may roll one die (representing their character casting their magic or physically attacking) with each post. The number you roll is the damage you do, so a 10 does 10 damage to any enemy you attack, etc, etc. They must indicate in their post which enemy they are attacking. Once an enemy is KO'd, which will generally be indicated by a DM post, attacks directed towards that enemy will be redirected towards the enemy of the highest level.
You may choose to forfeit rolling physical damage and instead roll for magic damage. Your magic is boosted by the uncorrupted and unbound power of Avalon, allowing you to treat each wave of enemies as a different battle with a reset casting counter. This means that if you get one spell a battle, you will be able to cast once in the first wave, again in the second, and again in the third. Magic attacks are assumed to always hit. If your character casts an AoE attack, then you may select up to three enemies to cast at. If your character casts a non-offensive attack, you won't roll, but you can simply write the effects into your post. Healing spells add a default +50 to the target in question. If you have a specific question on how to handle your attack, please drop me a line!
You will be responsible for maintaining your own health count at the top of your post. Player characters, however, are simply knocked out. They may be resuscitated by a healing spell. Disposable characters die when their health reaches zero, or when their player character wants to kill them (it needn't be when their HP runs out).
Basic/Page - 100HP | Rolls an 8-sided damage die, 12-sided for magic Super/Squire - 150HP | Rolls a 12-sided damage die, 20-sided for magic Eternal/Knight - 200HP | Rolls a 20-sided damage die, RNG 1-50 for magic Royal - 250HP | RNG 1-50 for damage, RNG 1-75 for magic
WAVES Waves last until all the enemies are down, and there will be three waves. I will post updating each thread at least once a day, but probably more like three or four. After a DM post your character may roll again.

Eternal Thraen
The pull of magic, the sound of weight and stone meeting the creak of old wood and the scent of salt and rain came the Thraen's senses as he opened his eyes. The world was a grey and waiting dim, clean for the ocean murmer and pale blossoms nearby that scrolled stone walls.
Forest. Stairs. But where is here?
The distinctly unclean feel of a youma crawled up his veins as he crossed carefully along what perimeter was available to the ruin. It was towards 'out' of the tower. The destruction of Youma and the tendrils of Chaos doesn't change for different locale. It doesn't feel to be moving. Just one? How large? They come in shapes as nightmares sized great and small.
He looked back across, to the window and the ocean beyond, called softly in case there were others below, already gone down the stairs- "Hello?"

Megrez considered herself lucky that she had already slipped out to do a little patrolling before some mysterious force yanked her off her feet and completely changed her surroundings. If she had been caught unpowered, she would have been in big trouble. Where she was was definitely nowhere in Destiny City. Had she been pulled into space somehow? Was this someone's planet or Wonder? Or was it just some place on Earth malfunctioning and teleporting people? (It did not occur to her at the time that some of those qualities could overlap.) In any case, something big was going down. She could see the youma crawling its way across the field, and she wasn't quite sure she wanted to jump on it just yet. There might be some sort of weird Negaverse trap being sprung. For the time being, she would wait a bit and see if anything else suspicious occurred. After getting her bearings, Megrez noticed something else: an Eternal senshi aura. Spinning around to see where it was coming from, she discovered that the source of the aura was none other than Thraen. "Hi, Thraen! Remember me? Megrez?" She had not forgotten the discussion they had that night, but they hadn't really encountered each other since then, so perhaps a reminder was in order (?).

Eternal ThraenThe strange effects of Voice drew his attention, Megrez....yes, with Faust. We spoke about the necessities of execution. She's grown stronger. He crossed carefully, mindful of the weight of his boots on the old and deteriorating wood, offering out hand to her, "You grown stronger in so short a span. I do remember. Well met again, Megrez. " "Two is better than one- and our enemy already present. It will be a pleasure to work with you directly Megrez. Have you played any video games? The terminology is wide based enough that it makes tactics faster. My magic is an area entanglement and status effect- enemy or ally doesn't matter. Yours?" "We don't know what the youma can do, so its difficult to determine if staying up here or in the tower is just trapping ourselves or keeping assault from a single front. High ground is something. But we can all jump. Offhand I prefer the open field for maneuverability."

Gillitie Squire startled and nearly dropped her watering globe as soon as her feet landed down upon the wood floor, reaching out to steady herself as if she'd been the victim of a very personal and very small earthquake -- and then she failed, and fell straight on her butt on the very cold floor, protected only from the full brunt of the floor's attempt to personally victimize her, because she was a victim here. Then she noticed the two Senshi and attempted to look like it was on purpose, scrambling up to her feet, gangly and college-aged and decidedly awkward for all her flowers in her hair and the forest-green dress that being a Squire of Earth gave her. "Hey -- did you two get just kind of randomly teleported here? Because, uh, there's some weird s**t going down, Sailors. ...and as far as magic goes, y'know; I can make plants grow? That's about it, it's not that useful." She shrugged halfheartedly, already moving to peer out the window, to stare down the empty air until her gaze hit the youma. "As is the tendency for everythin' magical nowadays, this has gotta be someone's Wonder. It's too alive to be anything else. s**t, I wish mine was this nice."

Penthesilea was not used to being swept places, magically, against her will. At least she wasn't working tonight, so there were no explanations to make, and she could be glad that powering up neatened and pinned her hair into the odd, complex style that had come with her Eternal upgrade. So at least she didn't look like a half-asleep disaster.
Which was good, because there were other people here. Two of them she knew, the third she didn't.
"Thraen, Megrez!" She said, and she wanted to run over but held dignity together enough to walk. "Well, if there were anybody I wanted t'get dumped on a weirdass island in the middle'a ********' nowhere with, you two would be on the list."
The third was not so familiar, and she nodded to the Squire. "Penthesilea," she introduced herself, and she put her hands on her hips. "First two spells are single-target damage, third is...AoE wacky s**t with damage." How the hell did she explain her Eternal attack to someone who had never been caught in it? "Friendly fire possible." Establishing tactics in RPG terms was comfortably familiar to her, perhaps moreso than she might have wanted either Thraen or Megrez to know. She was not sure her carefully-crafted image as a hot badass warrior princess would survive the knowledge that she played World of Warcraft.

It was strange - one moment he had been wandering the streets of Destiny City his intended destination a pile of junk that he'd come across earlier on in the week which he'd been planning to have a proper look around in the hopes of finding something that potentially could be useful - and then the next there had been a sudden flare of magic, a flare of magic and a tug both and when he'd opened purplish eyes that he couldn't remember closing he'd been greeted by the sight of stone and wood.
Stone, wood and the scent of salt, instead of the alleyway that he'd been walking along and instead of city sounds there was the rhythmic roar of something off in the distance, although from his position he was unable to see what it was.
It didn't matter, because the little that he was able to take in was enough to tell him that wherever here was, it wasn't in Destiny City.
A plant winding its way across the floor caught his attention and for a moment Liryn was tempted to follow the trail of blossoms.
The auras stopped him. There were four close by, two eternal, one super and one that was not a senshi aura but rather a Knight aura, the aura on par with that of the super senshi's aura. A youma's aura and one that was close. Not here close but still too close for his liking.
He turned away from the blossoms. Although he was curious about them and would love to know where they led, he was equally curious about the other four auras and besides one of the two eternal auras felt like Ida's aura.
As he slowly padded towards the four auras he did his best to shield them from the youma aura calling out as he did so "Ida is that you? Is Athene or Tsui with you? Do you know where here..." And then his voice trailed off as he realised that none of the four voices sounded familiar and that names listed by the female voice that had just spoken were all unfamiliar ones.
Well actually no - not quite all unfamiliar - he kind of remembered the name Thraen from the Black Watch founding meeting, his mind briefly conjuring up a blond haired eternal senshi with flowers and vines who had addressed those gathered up on the Moon in the early hours of that July morning - but remembering and knowing were two different things and none of the four seemed to be those that Liryn would have defined as having met aka had some sort of a conversation with - at least not based on voice.Quote: [ Liryn is trying to aura suppress everyone to the best of his ability - at least for the moment]

Sailor NassoviaA blue-haired senshi appeared, twirling in midair with a slightly song-like shout. It looked almost cool, if it weren't for her startled eyes and sudden flailing as she realized that her private rockout session just became public.....and not in her bedroom. After inelegantly crashing to the ground, she patted herself off and noticed that she was wearing her senshi uniform. Her eyes widened as she looked up at the other figures present. "Are you all superheroes too?" She tried to remember what ********* had said. Despite having been a senshi for over a year, Sailor Nassovia had seen very little action. "Or are you.... yo' mamas?" She got to her feet and gave a glance around. Maybe she had gotten a little too excited with her song and dance routine. This didn't look like anywhere near her home. "I think....maybe I hit my head."

"Gillite Squire of Earth, at your service~! Nice t'meet you, Penthesilea." Gillite frowned immensely. "...am I saying that wrong? s**t, you Senshi always have the worst names, it's like a dictionary vomited everywhere and it got mixed together with a chemistry class." She barely resisted the urge to poke the Transcended's markings, but it came with the obvious sign of widened eyes and a barely-contained leeeeean. She also probably would have actually said something on the subject, but as soon as the words started to form came the arrival of a cat (ohmygod she almost never got to see those, why couldn't she be a Senshi sad ) and a teenaged Senshi wearing a facemask. "Seems like whoever started this party, it's not gonna be anything small, y'know? We gonna stick together or divide into groups? Because it's nice t'sit around and chat, but magic never does anything weird without a kinda valid reason. You okay after that fall, kid?" Gillite reserved any inelegant thoughts about Nassovia's entrance to herself, because that was just the thing to do as an Adult Person speaking to a Teenager.

Suddenly the area had gotten a lot more crowded. Megrez took Thraen's hand in a handshake. "Yes, nice to meet you again! Um... my magic is just basic single-target damage stuff. The small eggs go a bit faster than the big ones, but the big ones hit harder. A lot harder." She had knocked someone unconscious with one, after all. "I think maybe we should go into the field, for maneuverability like you said, and because maybe it'll let us explore a bit." The appearance of the Earth Squire further immersed Megrez in the reality of the situation. She looked over to face Gillite and said, "Yep, randomly teleported." As much as she wanted to say that there was always weird s**t going on, this was certainly beyond anything she had encountered so far. "Huh, you think this is a Wonder? I guess that makes sense, but why would a Knight's Wonder drag in senshi? Oh, and I'm Megrez, by the way. Nice to meet you, um-" Of course, if Gillite had pulled Megrez's head further into the situation, a certain voice pulled her way, way out of it. "Penthe!" she called out, throwing seriousness and dignity and sense out the window to run over and give her a hug. "Boy, am I glad to see you're here!" She wanted to provide some sort of real justification for being glad to see Penthe, but couldn't find one quick enough. Just seeing her made her happy. She wanted to hold her and never let her go. Every. Single. Time. Suddenly, a guardian cat and another senshi made their entrance, jarring Megrez back into reality and making her release Penthe lightning-quick (but not step away from her at all). "Uh. Well." The name 'Ida' rang a bell from Megrez's visions, but she was certain that Ida wasn't there. And the blue-haired senshi appeared young and inexperienced (from her actions, anyway). The hell did she mean by 'yo' mamas?' "No, I'm afraid there's no Ida here. Yet, anyway. And yes, I guess you could say we're all superheroes of some form or another."

More faces, more auras- this is a gathering. Thraen waited, weighing, as the new arrivals gave their piece, eyes warming on sight of Penthesilea and Liryn especially. "Two pairs or three might construe as something to be wary, but this is a crowd, with the possibility of more people being drawn here by magic just as we were. But for what...that chaos aura out there may be more than it seems for Will to draw so many here. " Will of what, he didn't know. "Gillite, well met. Growing plants is a lot, actually. I create vines that tangle. You can't stay close, but if we get swamped it might be worth a try of your magic on top of mine. Or you might grab some of this vine here and carry it to make it into a rope or something. " While he spoke, Thraen crouched in case the present Mauvian wanted a ride, "Has everyone here been in a fight before? There's a youma at least out there. Before we go out, we should have an idea of tactic as we have the seconds to spare. If we protect each other, we'll move forward a little more slowly but more in control. I'll hold my magic unless we start getting swamped. As eternal senshi...Penthesilea and I can take vanguard? We're the fastest and strongest. Megrez and Gillite you could take flanks, and....." He looked to the bluenette, "You could take center support, critical for if any of us get in trouble and need a hand- you look fast and mobile. Your name?"

Nassovia pinched herself before responding to Gillite. Nope, this wasn't a dream. "I think I'm alright. This all seems real enough anyway." Her eyes were wild with excitement as Megrez confirmed that everyone present was a superhero. Questions would have followed, but Thraen's command of the situation utterly shattered her train of thought. She saluted him when he addressed her. Not out of mockery. It just seemed the right thing to do. "Yes, sir! I am fast and mobile! My name is Ma.....Sailor Nassovia! I haven't fought any villains yet."

"Pen, or Penthe'll do," she told Gillite, and she wrapped her arms around Megrez, lips briefly pressing against her cheek. She couldn't ignore the Squire's interest in her markings - and so she unwrapped one arm from Megrez, extending it for the girl to take a look.
Her eyes cut to the newest addition to their group, and she probably visibly cringed at the girl's entrance. "We ain't youma, no," she said, which she figured was a decent enough guess as to what the Senshi had meant.
Thraen's tactical assessment fit what she would have done, and so she nodded, slowly and rather unhappily disentangling herself from her girlfriend. "My first two attacks'll be helpful, but my third - definitely gonna hold off unless we get some nasty resistance." Anything with friendly fire had to be handled that way, and giving people bizarre war flashbacks especially so. There was a lot to consider, but Gillite, she realized, was a particularly good gain for the group - the whole island seemed more alive than a lot of planets.
"Fair warnin', though, th'glowy ain't jsut for show. My aura'll attract attention." It was a good thing sometimes, but a pain in the a** others.
