My Story ---------&
Sting Scurrihoard was born in a quite large nest, the queen a respectable woman who had given birth to over ten thousand eggs before he had even drawn his first breath, ruled with a kind heart and an iron fist. He was named after by the queen personally by chance and treasure his name. He was set to be a worker, building and repairing the nest while serving his queen until the day he died, finally paying off his debt to the glorios queen. He knew nothing of the outside world, nothing of dragons or kings or even magic, he was content. Ignorance truely is bliss. His nest was located next to a small and run down hut in Triren, due to the large infestation it was largely avoided by the locals, many had tried to clear the nest and only a few had survived the experince.
One day a stranger moved into the hut, he made a special effort to barricade himself in, sealing himself from the rest of the world and performed sickening experiments at all hours. There wasnt a day that passed where the tortured screams of some pour soul couldnt be heard. The hornets lived out their lives peacefully, the man, whoever he was had made sure to seal the nest off from the rest of the world so they would act as his guards. The man was a mage from Freyoen, he had been exiled after it came out that he had vapourised his daughter's boyfriend for failing to live up to his standards. The punishment was made worse by the fact he was a low level nobody who had decided to kill the son of a powerful archmage. The arch mage sent assassins after the man and after months of searching they finally found the shack.
However the mage had been smart, he hadnt killed the boy, only extracted his soul, he had been intending to use it as a catalyst in summoning a demon but he didnt have the knowledge or skill to pull off the spells required. He instead kidnapped a hornet from the nest outside and began a ritual to merge the two souls intending to make him a body guard. Sting dissapeared along with the soul and before the process could be completed the assassins rushed the house, killing the mage and destroying the nest in the process. All but one of the assassins were killed in the fight, the survivor, a dark elf, sat in the corner waiting for the sweet release of death.
Just then, the room started shaking violently, a rift opened in the fabric of reality and a single hornet flew through, as if left the tear it grew larger and larger until it was the size of a man. It landed on its hindlegs and the tear closed behind it. The dark elf, who though he was halucinating started conversing with the insect. Sting listened closely while he rambled, often moving closer when it seemed like he had passed only to jump back when he woke suddenly. After a week, the elf started making a recovey, his body started etting used to the venom that had been flowing in it for a week. The elf now seeing clearly, if not quite understanding what was in front of him, instructed Sting on how to heal him.
The two lived together in relative harmony for the next three years, the elf educated Sting on the way of the world, about the rulers and dragons and about other things that might be useful if they were ever seperated. They worked the ruins, scavenging things of value and selling them to traders, all the time trying to save up enough money to get out of Triren. But life in Triren is anyting but easy and one night the kings guard who just run free terrorising all who they come across attached the two of them, the elf was killed instantly by a spear while sting escaped with a minor wound. He has since turned his attention away from leaving Triren and instead to revenge.
