Welcome ••••••••••••••• This year Realm of the B'alam will be holding a Color Your Own event. What's that mean? Our patrons can come in and color little clay figurines of B'alam and hand them out to their friends! If they're lucky, these figures will somehow attract the B'alam it resembles. This is where you come in- we want to really share the love our opening year and have as many B'alam given out as possible. Our staff has been a little strained with life and we've lost some of our founders to school, work, and family obligations so we're looking for some help!
IC Explanation
The clay figures are -not- Totems. B'alam do not come from these clay figures. In fact, the clay figures do not exist in character. It just gives us a reference for creating a newly-woven B'alam for the recipients!
Before Entering ••• → You must be familiar with and abide by the rules of the shop. There will be a quiz to test your knowledge on this and even -one- wrong answer will disqualify you. If you aren't clear on the rules we encourage you to read over the Beginner's Guide and the Front Page.
→ You cannot have any of the staff members on ignore. We don't want to have to mule-hop in order to see your posts. Some of us are more available than others to keep an eye on the work being put in than others and if we're on ignore, we cannot check your posts.
→ You must have access to AOL instant messenger. We may create a blast group (temporary) for quick access, discussion, and answers for our guest colorists. This is a tool for us to be able to get into quick contact, engage in quick discussion, and answer quick concerns regarding the shop.

Important Things To Remember || → Color the lines! Not too dark, not too light.
→ Color the shading! You don't always have to, but white pets look so muddy with black shading. Try blue or pink! It makes a difference!
→ Clean up your markings! Don't settle for just 'okay' looking.
→ Don't get stuck in a loop. Don't become a one trick pony! Try to keep diverse in your markings.
→ Take constructive criticism. If we point something out, please don't take it personally! We only want the best looking pets to get into the hands of our customers.
→ Save save save! Save your psd's in case you need to make a correction!
→ Do not edit lines. We're not hiring edit-able colorists right now.
→ Pay attention! The templates are labeled very clearly. Pay attention to folders and layers.

So, for my Photoshop CS5 Extended I mainly do effects and other editing work that isn't easily replicated with Sai. ► Can you open .PSD files? Yup! ► Your AIM SN || I don't use AIM, I predominately use Skype, which uses the same username as above, PM and quoting on Gaia. I'm also not opposed to Facebook messenger, my personal account isn't very personal and is already used as a major means of contact for work with my convention; FandomCon. ► Hours you are normally available || I'm available usually from noon PST to whenever I pass out any where from twelve to two AM. My current job has variable hours and I'm caring for my mother for the next few weeks while her foot is injured. Beyond that I'll be moving on or around to a new house over the thanksgiving holiday. Internet might be intermittent that week, I can still be easily contacted and working on things easily during that time, it just might be a bit slow due to having to use my phone. ► Do you agree to abide by and uphold the rules? Secondaries can within shop rulings, but primary tribe features may never be combined. ► What is a "Spirit bound" couple? In laymen's terms it is a bond between two B'alam, one male and one female, that brings two halves of a spirit together to bind them as one. Bonds cannot exist outside of this arrangement, examples that can't bond are; Homosexual pairings, any B'alam that experiences love/attraction in a romantic fashion towards two or more B'alam, etc. Other pairings are possible and they can love but they cannot reproduce. ► What's the difference between the primary and secondary traits? Primary traits differentiate the individual tribes, whereas secondary traits are most commonly found in the tribe they are related to but can, for the most part, be found in others tribes as well. ► What are the limits on NPC's? Primary traits are significantly more important and dominant than secondary traits. Primary traits depict what tribe the B'alam belongs to, as well as other necessary characteristics, like the magic that they can wield, physical characteristics, strengths and weaknesses.
