Sueno and Milan were out in the Wilds of Ayr again; this time trying for a second Rajsha. Impisi, her first Rajsha, was currently at Kadryn’s house getting spoiled rotten by Kadryn and Kirosh. He’ll end up being a pet if that keeps up, Sueno thought with amusement.

“How will you go after this next one?” Milan asked her, breaking her thoughts.

“Ah was gonna try going for a cub. It’ll be easier to train than an adult but probably a bit more difficult to catch.”

“Mm… not as hard as you think.”

Sueno looked up at him with narrowed eyes. “What d’ye mean?”

“Catching a cub is fairly easy… issue is keeping it.”

“Ah thought it’d be the other way round?”

“Nah, Rajsha cubs are quiet curious and you can lure them aware. The mothers though, they’ll track you down for weeks to get their cub back.”

That ruins my plans, she thought. Though wouldn’t it be same at Kadryn’s place? Or now?

“Well… Ah ought to at least learn how to lure it away. Maybe we’ll get lucky an the mother won’t track us down?”

Milan chuckled; “Such optimism!” But he obliged, telling her about the types of food that had worked in attracting a Rajsha.

They spent the better part of the day searching for a Rajsha lair that did not have a huge pride defending it. The more adults around, the higher chance of detection! Finally they found one; a lone mother and her single cub. Sueno felt bad about trying to take this one cub away. If there’d been a second she’d have not felt guilty; but here she was taking away a child! But it’s for a good reason; she needed to train Rajsha’s for the hunters to help guard them! Shoving aside her guilt, she headed down to set the trap up. It had to be now as the mother had just left to go hunting.

It was easily done; food that when warmed up smelled delicious. All she had to do was wait for it to get the courage to leave the shallow cave and approach.

The cub, just as Milan had said, stumbled over towards the tasty smell. Sueno, after it had eaten some, used her magic to cast a sleep spell.

Before she could begin to extract herself from her hiding spot; the mother returned. Sueno froze in place; hoping the mother would not smell her. The Rajsha did not seem to react, other than to drop the food and walk over to pick her cub up and carry the small thing back to the cave. Guess this means that I won’t be taking this cub. Sueno thought with some relief; I’ll make sure to go after a cub that’s been abandoned or its mother has multiple of them. Now to just get out of here with out alerting her… Sueno looked around but saw no way out that would alert the Rajsha.


An hour passed, and Sueno was beginning to worry. Maybe she should just fly off and not care that the Rajsha would be spooked?
Wondering what to do, she saw Milan come casually walking down the canyon walls. What is that idiot doing? She thought to herself; is he trying to get attacked?

The Rajsha also saw him and gave a low growl. He stopped and grinned, crossing his arms. He made a hurry motion with his hands and Sueno caught on. While the mother was distracted by the Oblivionite that was not quite threatening her, SUeno flew up and away, quickly going behind another set of cover.

Milan stood there and mocked the Rajsha for a few more minutes before leaving. Sueno, during this time had made it back to their camp and waited impatiently for him to return.

“Ye idiot! What d’ye think ye were doing?” She cried out when the older man came sauntering back.

“Oh hush ,Sue,” he waved away her worries; “It was a single young Rajsha! Besides, you needed someone to distract her to get out of there right?”

She growled and muttered under her breath; true, but he didn’t have to go putting himself in danger like that! Sueno did not like reckless actions at all!
