Tracer was born to a family of Jumping Birds. A long lineage of Jumping Birds, in fact. So, it was no surprise when she initially was assigned to be a Jumping Bird as her avocation. She picked up on everything quickly, and was even faster on her feet. She was the fastest runner, the highest jumper, the most acrobatic. Her hand to hand skills weren't perfect, but they didn't need to be when she could easily speed past her opponents barriers, and the other students didn't mind because of her bright personality and helpful additude. The Director came by for inspections one day, and spotted her surrounded on the training mats by 4 students. The teacher blew the whistle for them to begin, and in 10 seconds flat she was starting to pin the 4th to the floor. Laughing with the other three when they all caught their breath. They slapped her on the back, asking her how she did it. The Director asked the same. She was reassigned a reaper that day. Since then, her hand to hand has improved, forced to not just out speed her opponent as they would put weights on her to stop that. She got faster, unable to use the treadmills as effectively as before. She finally felt challenged, and she became determined to do the best she could. When she graduated, she joined forces with a friend named Winston, a warrior. The two of them were unstoppable, one brute force and the other the speed. Until the day they weren't unstoppable. They were overwhelmed, misinformation about the sheer numbers they were walking into. Winston sacrificed himself to save her, and since then, she no longer gets attached to one Guardian, coasting between partners and lone wolf missions, spirit never dimming one bit.
