The Guardian's record show that:
Madison was naturally born to a pair of guardians, and orphaned at the age of 5 when her parents were killed on a mission outside the den. Her status as a groundling solidified by her heterochormatic eyes and her need for glasses. Even after the lose of her parents and family she still managed to keep a happy attitude and an always positive attitude, though she was still a bit of a Klutz. As a young girl she worked as a courier for small trinkets nothing illegal though at times she found herself crawling through vents to get from place to place to get away from people who wanted her packages (nothing super important mostly thugs or thieves trying for the packages), or bullys who wanted to mess with her. While she worked hard there were times she'd trip and fall over herself or misplace the package however she always completed the job to the hardest of her ability though with a broken package or two, and new scratches and scuffs she got from giving it her all. There were times she had to break down and cry but she wouldn't let that interfere with how hard she tried to be happy. Her mindset was that a simple smile and action was enough to give people hope in the worst of times. Even maybe show the guardians that even as an orphan she wouldn't give up the hope and smile that they fight for and hope it inspires them.
At time Maddy would work at diners and cafes and a small waitress to see off a few of the guardians, though a lot of the times she ended up breaking dishes, and getting yelled at but at the end of the day she still kept up her happy attitude, not wanting to show weakness and while it was originally meant to be fake to inspire it really became appart of her. As well as a unyielding detrimination never to give up because it was hard. Maddy thought that because of her bad eyesight and klutzy nature. However that would change at the age of 10, Maddy was to teach another kid about being a courier in The Den. However on a delivery where she and the person she was teaching had different locations a small distance from each other they had to split up. After her delivery she heard a scream from the kid she was teaching and ran to find what had happened. There she found her friend at a dead end in a hiding spot to small for adults with a rather violent man trying to get her and the package she was delivering. Without a second thought she grabbed the nearest sturdy object which turned out to be a trash can lid and began to protect her friend. The clanging sound of the trashcan resonated after every hit that was made against is as she used it as a sheild and weapon. She was beaten and bruised but she budged not one inch, her eyes reflected fire to protect as she made a few choice counter attacks by moving forward using the metal of the lid to increase her bash against the mans knuckles. A guardian watched the scene unfold no acting immediately as her burning gaze almost memorized him, but as soon as the little girls body gave and the man pulled a knife he was in there almost in a heart beat. Maddy was hospitalized for a beat but she managed to gan the attention of the guardians and was taken in to become one.
Her years training to become a guardian were heard, she was a clutz in the class room, got below average grades, slow learner, and pretty much set the record for tripping over herself and making a mess. However her unyielding and happy personality refused to let her quit. Come training for missions when she was give an objective to protect and teammates to back up it was like a switch was turned on and she became one of the most skilled sentinals in training, when sent to protect she'd protect it with all her heart and wouldn't budge from defending it. If a teammate went down she'd go get them before completing the exercise. When given a sheild and goal she was a model sentinal, when she was relaxing she was a model happy ditz. However in the head it paid off she became a powerful sentinal without needing to change herself. Her armor and fighting style gave her the appearance of a lion protecting its home. For a year she was called the awakened lion as her armor was a bit masculine and she looked like a boy with it on, but that changed when she took off her helmet to reveal she was a girl. That's how she got the title "The Smiling Lioness," as her happy attitude made others smile while her guardian mode made her a lioness.
