The half-angeni stallion wasn’t quite sure what to think. He was used to being alone. He was used to keeping to the shadows, in solitude, because there weren’t many out there who thought like he did. A stained heart inside a pure soul. It wasn’t that he was anti-social, just…socially inept. Backwards. The frost prince, the emo kid, he’d heard them all. It hadn’t bothered him, in fact before his little cousin was born, he preferred long flights alone and seeking out his own little spot in the woods. And then Shade had needed help raising a sickly son and despite the fact that he was NOT a kid person, Winter took pity on his neurotic cousin. And in doing so, he fell in love with the fragile little flutter colt who would teach him the meaning of loving someone.
And now? He ducked his head, hiding behind a fringe of silver bangs, as his rather suggestive companions flirted and schmoozed and pretty much did everything but hook up. It was…unsettling. Gansey was very flamboyant, very open, very…loud and extravagant. The opposite of himself. And then Daleson… A blush touched his cheeks at the thought of the rainbow griff. Yeah, well… Maybe he was a little bit jealous of the “thing” Gansey and Dale seemed to share.
Having enough of the banter, Winter went deeper into the woods, slipping away so they wouldn’t hear him. He was good at that. He slid through the darkening night, the moonlight shining a patch all around him, and his tense muscles relaxed. He…loved the night. His silver eyes closed for a moment as he basked in the moonlight.
Then, certain he was alone, he began to dance. Smooth, slow, fluid grace, his slender, almost feminine body was made for moving, made for dance, and it was something he enjoyed. Something he didn’t share with anyone--not even the companions he’d met in his travels. No matter how freaking beautiful they were.
xxx
It all seemed crazy that it was just a couple months ago when he made it to these lands. He loved the surroundings. Especially his first encounter with a gorgeous griff mix like himself. Her personailty, hair, her markings. It all came together,it was..perfect. It was going really well, their relationship hit it off so well.
Daleson sighed happily as he left Gansey to have some time for herself. He noticed that Winter vanished like he usually does.It bothered him that the poor male wasn't too fond of how him and Gansey acted towards eachother. But that is what you get when you put two together that are out going and are very fond of beauty.
The male was wandering off trying to find the shy and emo male. Maybe spending time alone with him from Gansey was best. The three way relationship was going to be difficult with two different kinds of mates.
Out of the corner of his eye there was a beam of light. Then he noticed the winged male. Winter. Daleson got closer but made it so Winter couldn't see him.The way the male moved so elegantly. He was...amazing. Why would the male hide such a wonderful thing from him?
Keeping quiet,he watched as Winter danced with such grace.

Winter swooped and ducked, neck outstretched and legs moving fluidly. And for once he used his wings, not for flight but for show, though he wasn’t proud of his heritage bestowed upon him. As he danced and swirled, a smile appeared on his face, much more gentle and calm than his usual, because this was his time. He had mixed feelings, had such a storm growing inside of him. A part of him craved the companionship that Daleson and Gansey offered, both of them so…much different and yet the same. He liked Gansey’s vanity, her sass, that edge of danger she seemed to possess. And Daleson… He felt literal sparks fly whenever they touched. They seemed like an unusual pairing, and yet so perfect for each other.
That just left him. Winter wasn’t demanding or possessive, but he did have a jealous streak a mile wide and when Gansey and Dale were being…well, not quite mushy, Winter didn’t think Gansey was capable of mush, but when they were together, he felt the old familiar flare of the green eyed monster. Part of him wanted Gansey and another part wanted Daleson and it was just…a mess inside his heart.
He wasn’t aware of Daleson’s presence at first as he stilled, standing and letting the cool air run over his slightly sweat-damp back, the way it threaded fingers through his braided mane. And then he felt it, a tingle, a spark… Ears flicking, he tucked his wings to his sides and eyed the woods. Oh god… How much had they seen? A blush rose to his cheeks as he spun around. “Hah, very funny guys…” he muttered, voice tight. He wasn’t a performer--he didn’t perform… He didn’t WANT an audience…
Stepping closer, he caught sight of Daleson standing tall and strong in the shadows and his heart tightened, skipped a beat. Damnit, he hated the effect the stallion had over him with just a look.
xxx
Daleson smiled as Winter danced, It was amazing. He hadn't seen such a thing. Daleson's heart fluttered in his chest,he didn't know it could do such a thing. But watching Winter grew something different inside of him. It seemed really weird for Daleson.
He got a little blush on his face, but thankfully his whole body was mostly black. Daleson started to back away but his ears went up as Winter started to talk. Its almost like he closed up when he noticed someone was around.
He stepped out of the darkness and folded his wings next to him."You..are amazing,Winter." His complete personailty changes since he left Gansey and is around Winter.

Winter hesitated, torn between anger and frustration--and then when Daleson spoke, with such fervor, something strange happened. His entire body tingled, on alert, as a rush of pride soared through him. Amazing? Him? He let out a soft laugh, halfway to disbelief, but the look on Dale’s face--he knew the griff stallion was telling the truth. “Amazing…” he repeated. His heart was thundering now as he stared at Daleson, watched him with steely silver eyes that seemed to warm.
He was looking at him…like he looked at Gansey. With almost adoration. It twisted Winter’s cool heart, made him suddenly want to vy for the stallion’s affection, his attention. Was that a bad thing? Dale didn’t seem to have a sexual preference--beauty was his preference. Gansey had beauty in spades, but Winter…
Slowly a smile crept across his face, bright as the stars, and he stepped forward this time with purpose. His nostrils flared as he took in the griff’s scent, the soft smell of warm feathers and dried sweat from their flight earlier. The earth under Daleson’s claws. “Does “amazing” win me anything?” he asked, trying for nonchalant, though his voice was breathless, but the smile on his face was halfway to a smirk. Growing certain of himself.
Could he steal Daleson away from a mare such as Gansey? Was he capable of such a thing? “What do you really want…with me?” he asked, tipping his head to the side, then nodding in the direction of where they were camped. “Why am I here?”

Daleson's eyes became soft.He wasn't the type of male to have only one lover.Even if he did have little fling moments, there were only two that could ever have his heart.Half of him wanted to act like a love struck mare, all giddy and happy. But then the other half of him was battleing to be like he was when he was with Gansey. Winter could handle that, but he didn't want to be that way with him. Daleson smiled as Winter asked that question.'what would he win?Me of course.' Moving closer to the other he put his head at the other males neck and gave a small nuzzle. "Me of course." He knew Winter wouldn't know how to react to his flirting self, but he would learn. "I want your companionship, your affection."Lifting up his one clawed foot,he ran it along Winters front hoof. "What do you mean why are you here?"He laughed."You were being you." Xxx Sometimes he hated the way the way his body reacted, in turn, whenever Daleson spoke in that low timbre, the vibration of it enough to make his breathing ratchet and his heart pound. He felt like a foolish little filly with her first crush--though Daleson wasn’t the first, hardly--and knew that if he opened his mouth, he’d trip over all the words as he tried to keep them calm and collected. Daleson’s lips twisted into words--Me, of course… And that’s all it took for Winter’s heart to go galloping away.
“What about Gansey?” he asked quietly, silver eyes locked into Dale’s crimson ones. He felt the claws grace his hoof, so feather light, and he had to resist the urge to lean in, to press his much smaller, lithe body against the larger rainbow griff and feel the static burn between them. All he ever wanted in life was to be accepted for who he was, despite everything that had happened in his past, and Daleson and Gansey seemed to care less about it. They liked him for HIM, rather than some notion he wasn’t.
Suddenly unsure of himself, he stretched both wings out full as they could go, the tips of his downy feathers brushing against Dale’s face, down his neck, until their wings were touching. He swallowed back his nerves and decided this was it--he was going to put it out there on the line. He’d accept whatever Daleson decided but…
“I want to be…with you. Like, how Gansey is with you. I want that.” His words were soft, but strong. “You do things to me, things that no one else has done, and…I kind of like it.” A blush, ever so faint. “But Gansey…” His ears flicked back, thinking of the saucy mare. Gansey seemed the sort to share everything; no doubt she’d share Daleson too…
But could HE share Daleson with Gansey?Xxx As they stood there talking in peace without Gansey,he was starting to know Winter a tiny bit more. Something Gansey probably wouldn't have time for."What about her? It doesn't me she can't share me." She would have to. She knew herself that even if she did have his heart,he would always be in one night stands with others. But Winter would be a part of their love trio. "Don't worry about her. She isn't something you should worry about." He smiled and nodded at Winter. His ears perked as the words came out of Winters mouth."Want to be with me? I thought we already were?" He was serious, the first day Daleson met Winter he already made him apart of the trio.Something about Winter that day made him curious and another side started to show of him. "I do?" He kind of gave a smirk and nuzzled the other males cheek. Xxx Winter tipped his head to the side, watching Daleson carefully, taking in the other’s words and the peace of night that surrounded both of them. For once…he felt like he could relax, his muscles still supple and warm after his dance. A smile grew on his face, both boyish and innocent, when Daleson told him he was wanted. That he would share. And maybe Winter hadn’t given Gansey the benefit of the doubt, maybe because she was highstrung and independent, but she was gorgeous, too… Maybe he just didn’t spend enough time with her…
“Alright, then I won’t,” he said with a nod, meaning he wouldn’t worry about Gansey at this time. It almost didn’t matter, right then, the way his heart was soaring. He couldn’t stop grinning, but Daleson’s words made him falter--They already were together? Winter blinked. He remembered the day they met as if it were yesterday. Yeah, there’d been flirting, but… It sunk in slowly…that he’d been sheltering his heart from his companions, he’d stayed off on his own, enjoying their company and yet not truly enjoying it to the fullest.
“R-Really?” he asked, eyes wide. All this time Daleson had considered him that way? Well now he felt stupid… He snorted out a breath, disbelief and sudden relief, and then he grinned again. He swung his hip to the side, knocking into Daleson. “So…if you are mine. Then I am yours?” he tipped his head to the side. “And Gansey is…ours?” Oh… Well..that might work. A giggle escaped him. “God, I feel like a freaking idiot… How do you put up with me?” he teased. Xxx The moment Daleson meets someone,is when he decides if they are his. These two were chosen quite quickly.Something about the both of them rang in his heart when they met. It was so sudden. But he didn't mind that,it was a wonderful thing that happened.Daleson was settling down, then again he really wasn't because he still flirted and went after others. The great thing the three of them knew that they had someone back home and didn't have to worry about being alone. Maybe that is why he chose both of them. The sad thing was,Daleson didn't have any family.Maybe thats why they all became what they were so quickly. There was something they all had missing. He was missing both of their personalities and their companionship. "Good."Letting out a soft sigh,he looked at the other. He was happy that Winter was opening up to him, letting him into his shell. Daleson laughed and nodded. "Don't feel stupid. It is better late then never,Winter."Smiling he wasn't ready for Winters hip bump,so he stumbled a little. "I am yours, you are mine."He nodded once again."Gansey is ours." It was settled. They were all offically a trio. But there was always going to be a special place in his heart for Winter. "I just do." He smiled. Xxx Winter grinned like a giant goof and puffed up. “Good… I’m glad you do,” he said, bumping his nose against Dale’s cheek, reveling in the soft feeling of his dark coat. Then he ducked his head under Dale’s neck, wrapping one wing around the other stallion. He took a deep breath and settled it in his mind, breathing in Dale’s scent… His. Theirs. “It kind of makes me want to dance for you again,” he said, only half-joking.
He pranced sideways, letting his wingtips reach for the sky, and his tail swayed gently as a soft night breeze blew through the hair. “Guess it looks like I need to know her better then, yeah?” He smiled, breathing in deep before letting it out again. “Do you want to go for a flight? I’m feeling…something, not sure if this is how love feels, but damn.” He laughed aloud, tossing his head. His bangs fell over his eyes, but he could see Daleson through the strands.
He was about to take flight, just as a crackle in the woods behind them sounded, sharp in the night and he froze. Danger? Xxx Gansey let out a laugh, low and husky. “I wondered where you two lovebirds wandered off to,” she said by way of explanation, her long tail dragging the ground to gather pine needles and leaf litter. Her pale eyes took in first Daleson who looked confident in his abilities to woo anyone, her included. And then Winter… And something had changed about him. Something inside of him had softened, gentled. A smirk rose across her face, and she laughed again. “Oh, Winter… You’ve been bitten by the bug, haven’t you?”
She strode up to the smaller angeni and made a small circle around him, amused by this turn of events. She knew it--she had a sixth sense for these sort of things. Dale had brought the small but beautiful angel home, proud of his catch, and Gansey knew that day that this would happen. Winter regarded her almost nervously, but not a fear of her biting him--rather, a fear of her unacceptance.
She just smiled, a dashing look on her face, and waggled her brows suggestively. “Took you long enough…” She nudged his shoulder, leathery wing reaching out to wrap around Winter’s back, pulling him close. “Oh, this will be fun,” she said with a gleeful giggle. “But I’ll let you in on a secret, boys of mine…”
She flashed a wicked, sharp-fanged grin and whispered, “Last one to the sky has to sleep alone!” And with that, she lunged into the sky with heavy flaps of her wings. She loved boys--who said she couldn’t have two studs in her life? [FIN]
