Username: Duke Edward Drake Azrein Name (and meaning if you have one): Black Water Azrein Temperament(Explain): Deep: There is more to this shark then meets the eye, he is a complicated and intelligent fellow who is willing to risk himself for those he has become attatched to, ( and when he attatched he is much like a remora), and yet quite willing to tease and taunt and prank much like a barmy old seagull. But he is still a shark and loves to explore the places that are large and deep and send shivers down even his spine. A thrill seeking shark who knew? He appreciated the small creatures of the ocean and is curious about those who dwell on the land, legs indeed. He likes to think deeply about large questions, such as what is life, who invented feet and why can't I breathe air? He likes the thrill of the hunt but more tactically he likes the strategems that others use to do so and is quite willing to try them out himself with somewhat comical results in some places, there was a morning spent on a beach that he prefers not to mention, much to the delight of his dolphin...friends. Thank goodness for kind drafts who are strong enough to toss a full grown shark back where he belongs. How many azrein do you have?: 56 +1 deceased (57) How many have been rped with?: 50: but i try to rp all of them when they find it. +1 deceased who was also rped Link to Journal: Link Prompt: Prompt 1: "You are swimming about when you hear someone on the shore cry out, 'Ahhh, a shark!' It seems a beachgoer has noticed your distinctive fin, and it's causing quite a commotion among those in the water. How do you react- do you try to convince them that you're not a threat? Do you continue to agitate them, just for fun? Or are you really the scary, flesh-eating beast they fear you to be?" Prompt Reply: Black water was enjoying a leisurely morning swim, the sun had just risen over the ocean's(lake) horizon, it struck the fine clouds and they blazed with bright vibrant color. Black Water's lips pursed then he smiled, a storm to come later then, he always enjoyed those, frolicking amoung the waves and challenging the fury of the storm. Perhaps not the most intelligent of hobbies but it was too much of a thrill to pass up.
A cry drifted on the cool morning air wafting from the beech. Oh dear, he had gotten quite close hadn't he? They seemed to be somewhat distressed by his presence considering the screams. He sidled closer trying to look through the water while keeping his proud dorsal fin quite visible to those on the shore. They seemed to be stepping out of the water in a rather hurried fashion. He giggled a little bit. He ate fish, not azrein. He coasted just under the waves, seeming to patrol the beech, while he peeked out with just his eyes, maybe they thought he was a pure shark? What an adorable thought, they were so flattering, he grinned and accidentaly sucked in a minnow, which got stuck in his nostril. GACK!
He rose out of the water and snorted, clearing the small offending fish from his poor nose. The calls stopped and he turned slowly and guiltily toward the shore. "Oh Hai!" he called. "Lovely morning for a swim right! Got to watch those minnows though!" On the inside he felt a little bad, but he was also laughing uproariously there so it really wasn't much remorse. But really the looks on their dear faces, he quite thought the mares jaw would drop right to the ground.
Well nothing for it now but to help educate he swam until they could see him clearly and raised his tail out of the water. "I'm only half shark, if you were thinking there were azrein munching sized sharks out there, I eat fish if that eases your concerns at all.
He sensed the little pinkish mare was still rather miffed with him. He tilted his head and innocently asked. "What?"
The mare huffed and stomped off into the vegetation. Black Water grinned after her, yes he was reprehensible but then he hadn't been born a demure bunny rabbit had he?
The stallion that had been with her quirked an eyebrow and after watching him for a bit walked off after his bedamseled female. But Black Water thought he saw the hint of a twinkle in his dark eyes and that made his day. Antics were no good when the world didn't show some sense of humor. That mare was fortunate that her companion seemed to posses one.
Black Water sent his own call into the air, a call to revel exuberantly in life and to greet the red dawn.Pulled due to rediculous luck of rng good luck guys!

Username: Puddleink Azrein Name: Ëar'del ( Shadow Horrow in Quenyan Elvish...loosely translated) Azrein Temperament: Punny INDENT Something about him makes him show up, randomly. Why? Because he feels like he should. Don't ask him why, its kinda a seventh sense. The sixth one is always knowing when to beach himself when a hot babe is walking by so he can take a bite out of her. Not literally! Freaks... His sense of direction is... Beyond words. No, really. It is beyond words. Like...No. It isn't a good sense of direction. Its one of those temperments that easier to see than to describe. How many azrein do you have?: 9? Not all are in the journal. Journal is neglected. How many have been rped with?: Not enough. Link to Journal:[x] "You are swimming about when you hear someone on the shore cry out, 'Ahhh, a shark!' It seems a beachgoer has noticed your distinctive fin, and it's causing quite a commotion among those in the water. How do you react- do you try to convince them that you're not a threat? Do you continue to agitate them, just for fun? Or are you really the scary, flesh-eating beast they fear you to be?" 'A shark?' he thought, poking his head out of the water to get a better look at this loud thing on the beach. Glancing around, it was soon determined that there was only one shark in the water, and Ëar'del forgot he was the only one there. Ears slicked back and he gave a loud snort. 'Really? Over a shark? ...then again, I'm in a lake.'
The screams of terror were mildly annoying. Would it be wise to even address this? No. Then the cries of a talking shark would run rampart and his little home, or sunning spot would be absolutely ruined with reporters demanding his attention. Still, these folks were annoying. He didn't want to get involved directly... Ëar'del moved his swimming pattern a little further off the shore than he would like, the cool and warm waters competing and tickling his skin in a mildly unpleasant way.
For a moment, Ëar'del almost drifted into mindlessness. Almost to the state that he could think and swim without bothering to think about where he was swimming. He had got as far as ' I wonder what I"m going to have for lu--' when a very loud 'SPLOOSH' interrupted right in his face.
He halted. Which, given the lazy swim speed of almost 15mph wasn't an easy thing to do for a swimming being at his size. Front hooves splayed out, flukes also tense, and tail now curled in the perfect position to turn and either flee or charge, he twitched an ear towards what sounded like a distant shout of ' Almost!'.
They...They were throwing rocks at him? HIM!? But he hadn't done anything to them! This was... A shame and the fault of the local media. Ëar'del thought of himself as a rather nice guy. Always minding his P's and Q's, and never going after Whitefish after Labor Day. And, he held his tongue around those dolphins. Stupid dolphins, think they know everything. They do a trick, get a fish, and then they gloat and chase away the nice sharks that only want to say 'Hi' and 'Good morning' and 'Mind not putting a net there? I need to get to the underwater cave filled with treasure to get to my sleeping spot. Thanks.'. This simply wouldn't do. Not in his pond. Not in his territory. The stallion snorted, and turned his head towards the shore. A pebble bounced off his nose, landing with a small 'Splunk'.
He looked at the rippling water, then at the being standing on the shore. They looked rather surprised, but confident that he couldn't reach them. Ëar'del grinned a toothy grin. He took note of the being, the color hair, the number of legs, the awkward look the child ( probably) had that this shark thing was looking back at them. He drank it all up and let out a howl of what could be laughter.
Down, down he swam. Down he dove to the darker part of the waters. Something in particular he was looking for. Something that would do just the trick. Ah! He plucked the little crab from its rocky home, using his forelegs as leverage to get just the right bite on the shell. The poor crab flailed its claws in confusion. And probaby the same amount of annoyance Ëar'del experienced earlier with the rock. Oh, the plan was good.
He waited, the crab giving up its attempt to pierce the equin shark's nose in this time and settling to just occasionally snapping its claws at a passing minnow. The uncanny patiences that only a predatory would have took over Ëar'del, and he lived up to his name sake. A shadow at the bottom of the pool. At least, until he heard splashing. The echo of laughter made it down through the dense water. The poor crab, sensing the doom, tried to curl up on itself. The little eyestalks stuck out, but the thing tried.
Ëar'del raced to the surface, full speed. Shrieks of terror sang out as his large tail fin, then dorsal fin, then this crab faced creature with probable harmful intent raced at the kid that had thrown a rock at him. Forelegs reached and tried to trip the child, succeeding, resulting in a scream of blissfull terror. And then... Ëar'del raised himself to full height, or as much height as he could on land pinning a kid down...
... and set the crab on the kid's head. "Don't throw rocks at me. It makes me crabby." Cooing, Ëar'del gently patted the crab, who looked just as terrified as the kid, then realized he was stuck about five feet from the water.
With a dignified snort, he waddled, curled his front feet under him, and crawled in a serpentine motion back to the water. This was his lake! Yeah! He showed that kid! Totally! Yeah! Not really. The thrill of the fun had worn off. Ëar'del slipped back to his mindless swimming position and did actually get around to what he would have for lunch.
Sea weed was high on the list. Maybe he would hit the Oyster bar. Either way. That kid didn't bother him anymore. And, he saw to his delight, there was a little sign posted by his pool that said 'Swim at your own risk: Crabbing sharks'. ... It brought more jerks, but hey! He got a sign!

He will do what he can in order to either protect or defend his home and his loved ones. Hes loyal to those he considers friends, and to his family. He has a playful side and does like to cause a bit of havoc once in a while. He is jealous of those on land because he has to remain in the sea, so he will choose to go to the beaches just to give them a little fright. He is a very exploration based soul. He loves to explore the underwater caverns that run all over. How many azrein do you have?: Three How many have been rped with?: None yet v.v Unfortunately Link to Journal: Sesshi's Bountiful Herd <3 Prompt: "You are swimming about when you hear someone on the shore cry out, 'Ahhh, a shark!' It seems a beachgoer has noticed your distinctive fin, and it's causing quite a commotion among those in the water. How do you react- do you try to convince them that you're not a threat? Do you continue to agitate them, just for fun? Or are you really the scary, flesh-eating beast they fear you to be?" Prompt Reply: Lakota looked around under the water. He had taken this cave to see where it went. He realized that he was closer to the top of the water then he normally was when a cave let out. He looked up to see the sun reflecting through the ripples at the top of the water. It was rougher then it usually was. 'I must be closer to the beach then I thought I would be...' He thought to himself. He started swimming closer to the top of the water. He wasn't sure exactly where he was and going closer to the land and poking his head out of the water was a good way for him to get his bearings. He could hear muffled cries and muffled calls. This intrigued him. They sounded like the cries of a Land dweller. He kept swimming. He chuckled to himself. They probably thought he was a Real Shark. They were much worse then he was. He wouldn't begrudge them their fear. There was a part of him that was Jealous of the Land dwellers. He didn't dislike them, he didn't even hate them. He was just jealous that they got to go out and enjoy the sun without worrying about things like "Am I going to dry up? or Am I going to be able to breathe?" He knew a few of them were very good swimmers. Not nearly as good as he was, but that was to be expected. He twisted his head back to look at his tail. He smiled with Pride. He kept getting closer and closer to the shore and swam along the beach. He smiled as the Land dwellers had all fled from the water. He was curious to see what they would do. He could tell that a few of them were curious to see where he was and what he was doing. He watched as he held the eyes of a few of them as he passed by. He wouldn't be opposed to them coming back into the water. After all, he could see just how good these Land dwellers were at swimming. He poked his head above the water and called in a friendly voice. "Here... Come out and swim with me!" He could see a couple of them recoil with fear or confusion, he couldn't tell which. This was also when he heard the panicked cries from what appeared to be a mother as her foal was in the waves. He turned his attention to the foal who was in the waves. It didn't take him long to realize that the foal was in trouble and was being pulled further out to sea. "That's not what I meant..." he said with a sigh. He reacted instinctively after that. He raced toward the foal which he could tell made the mother panic even more. He could see that it took one of the stronger male Land dwellers to pull her back from the waves and keep her there. It wouldn't be good if the mother got herself into trouble as well. He could see the male saying something to her, but immediately turned his attention back to the foal who was making his way out to sea. He raced towards the foal, he was worried that the young one may have swallowed to much water by the time he got there. He put all of the power and force in his body into his tail so that he could propel himself through the water faster. He called to the foal. "Stay calm... I got you..." Just as he finished speaking he saw the head of the foal go under. Hurriedly he dove under the water. He saw the foal sinking in the water and swam up under him and pushed him to surface. He could tell the foal was worse for wear and his positioned the foals legs to either side of his neck and the foals head on his. It was like a piggyback ride for the foal. He focused in on the mother of the foal who had made her way down the beach to where they were now. Using his front legs and a bit of motion from his tail he swam towards the beach. Luckily the waves to him were normal, but he still had to keep the foal on his back. Every couple waves the foal would slide around a little and he would have to stop and reposition the foal. It was taking most of his strength to make the trip back to land. It was right there. He gritted his teeth and pushed himself harder. He would not let the water claim this young one. Finally after fighting with the waves and the break of the water he got past it. The foal was still on his back and the mother was racing towards him with the Stallion right behind her. He was horribly out of breath as the mother reached him and he pulled himself to land with his front legs. The foal was still on his back. He had done as much as he could for the foal. He could only hope that the young one was ok. The mother and the Stallion got to him, and the mother collapsed in the shallow water in front of him. He heard her shallow breathing. "I wont harm him... He is yours..." His code of chivalry wouldn't let him not help anyone in danger. No matter how he felt about that Azrien or their type. He felt the weight lift from his back as the Stallion pulled the foal off his back. The only thing he heard as he felt the flurry of hooves wrap around him was 'Thank you... You saved my son! Thank You, thank you thank you...' He wrapped one of his hooves around the mother as well. "I hope he is ok... and will learn to stay closer to his parents... at least until he is a bit bigger..." Was all he said. He looked back to the waves that were lapping at his back and sides. "I need to return to the water now..." He said in a somewhat sad voice. He had saved their foal and had returned the foal to them. He had done what was required of him. Now he needed to find his way home. As the mother let him go, she nuzzled him. She whispered another Thank you to him as the rest of the land dwellers came to see if the foal was alright. He nodded to the Mother and pushed himself back into the water. He was going to go home, and rest. His body ached after pushing himself to get to the foal and get the foal to land. He was exhausted. 'I just want to rest now...' Was all he could think to himself. 'What will I do next...?' he said as he half laughed at himself.

He does what he does because it entertains him in some way or another. He doesn't care what he has to do to entertain himself, as long as he's saved from his boredom. He especially enjoys observing the reactions of others (usually in response to his antics) in hopes that he'll see ones that amuse him. Do you continue to agitate them, just for fun? Or are you really the scary, flesh-eating beast they fear you to be?" Prompt Reply:Wickaninnish had been swimming lazily through the water when the voice cried out. He blinked twice as he registered what the voice said. Ah. He'd gotten close enough to the beach to be spotted? How could he make the most of this? It wasn't long before an idea came to mind. The shark fin disappeared beneath the water, and a moment later Wicked threw the Azrein half of his body out of the water, flailing and whinnying like he was being attacked by something below him. The stunned, horrified faces on the beachgoers were priceless. He slowly lowered himself into the water as he flailed, and soon he was hidden beneath the waves again, chuckling to himself as he swam away. But then he became bored again. Sighing, he swam towards a different shore, eventually hearing a similar call of "Ahhh, a shark!" Rolling his eyes, Wickaninnish surfaced and yelled back, "Aaaah! A human!" The shark-caller seemed baffled and terrified at the same time. It was truly a unique expression. "Not so funny when I do it to you, is it?" The human's attempts to respond got boring after a moment, so he turned and disappeared back into the waters once more. His boredom quickly returned. Wasn't there anyone who could entertain him for more than a few moments? Scaring beachgoers wouldn't keep him amused forever. Maybe one of these days he'd find another Azrein to talk to. Or to eat. Would that make him a cannibal? Maybe he would ask the next beachgoer to cry "Shark!"

Ah, this feeling of freedom really was the best. The male glided through the waters, delighting in the small fish who swam away in fright as his shadow fell over them. Taj was looking for another Shark Azerin...where were they. The ones the male truly wanted to rip his teeth into. Upon recalling a few particular memories the male snarled and rose up to breech and get a clear head. Breathing air or breathing water were two things the male never questioned about his heritage. Just proved that they were better than those four-legged meat-bags. The male was just skimming the surface of the water, a habit he had before breaching. Then. He heard it. Oh just great, by the abyss in the waters below. SERIOUSLY?!? Couldn't they be more original with the scream at least. The male would of loved to preform a full breech showing off his magnificent form then look for a jet stream to really scare the hooves off of them. Or eat the hooves. He had yet to decide. The male was going to breech and fulfill his idea when he saw a rather tasty school of fish. "Later meat-bag." he chuckled darkly as he darted after the poor things.

I love the water. It's so clean and fresh and I feel so free! My head turns toward shore when I hear a cry of "SHARK!" Shark? Where? Are the children okay?
I look around frantically for a shark and then realize that I am the one they are calling a shark. Oh...oh dear. I swim closer to shore and raise my head above the waves to try and show them that I am not a shark. I am a beloved Azrein. But the shore is in total chaos. There are creatures running in every direction.
That's when something hard connects with my head and then splashes into the water. I look down to see what it was before it disappears into the depths. It was a rock. My vision starts to swim with tears as well as the pain from the cut I now have. They're too scared to see reason. It's time for me to leave before they start throwing things worse then rocks at me. I look at the shore once more before swimming away.
There's a girl there watching me. She looks sad. She says something to the ones around her but it's like no one is listening. She waves to me before she makes a shooing motion telling me to leave. At least someone there knows I am no shark. Could she be my bonded?
