The Guardian's record show that:
Zoey is a soft spoken and observant individual due to how she was raised by her parents, both of whom were forerunners who had planned out their daughter's life before she was even conceived. She was genetically modified to have enhanced oculory capabilities and to have a light and lean body build. Almost immediately after her birth her education began, by age ten she had an IQ of nearly 198, slightly above average for a forerunner child. She was also taught things like social etiquette and how to actin front of those who held a higher status. Unlike most children she inducted into the Guardian program at an older age than most but due to atmosphere she had grown up in she quickly caught up with the other children. In written, physical, and mental tests she scored near top of the class, although it was not first the results still met with her parent's plans. On the day of her graduation she received the avocation of Ranger (Or Scout), again all according to her parent's plans for her. Soon after being assigned to her base she was selected to go on an easy mission to help break her and the new recruits in. Unfortunately several critical factors that had been miscalculated during the mission's creation came into play and left Zoey's squad in deep with no support. For several weeks she and her comrades fought atop a ridgeline approachable from only one side and held off wave after wave of enemy attacks. By the time they were rescued nearly three quarters of her squad had been killed or missing, in the debrief the squad leader put her in for a medal of valor. Through out the whole thing she had remained calm and collected where others panicked or broke down and gave up. Since then she has gone on more missions than a rookie is supposed to but her reputation for being reliable to operate under stressful situations made her impossible to pass up.
One notable incident in Zoey's life though was when during a mission deep in enemy lines she failed to report in several consecutive times leading her squadmates to believe she'd perished. A week or so later, and to everyone's dumbfoundment, she was spotted hobbling towards one of the many gates leading to the Den with a large canine like animal in tow. In her debriefing she explained that she had been jumped by an alien patrol of two individuals, while debating what to do with her the animal had attacked pouncing on one alien. With her remaining captor distracted she used hand to hand techniques and managed to escape her foes grasp. She then tumbled away in the direction where they'd piled her gear, she snagged her bow and planted an arrow in the alien's heart. Grabbing another rod she redrew the bow and pointed it at the creature which had just finished tearing out the other alien's throat. Seeing that she was armed and pointing the weapon at it the creature began to growl but it did not move. They stayed like this for several minutes until the arrival of another patrol which had been apparently sent to find the other one came upon them. Grabbing what little gear she could Zoey fled into the safety of the darkness of the night. The sound of the creature yipping made her stop, the other patrol had it cornered and were preparing to kill it. Stopping she immediately pulled back her arrow and let it fly sinking it into on the alien's backs. When the alien's fellow turned to release a burst of gunfire on her direction the creature fled as well, unfortunately for Zoey a lucky shot got her in the leg as well. Bleeding, in pain, and with almost no supplies she escaped farther into the night leaving behind most of her gear.
For several days she hid in a cave tending to her wound but without the proper medical supplies and no food her chances of survival looked grim. It was when she was about to fall asleep that she heard something moving near the mouth of the cave. Drawing her plasma dagger as she was to weak to pull back the bow's string, as whatever it was drew closer she prepared herself mentally for the end. To her astonishment it was not an alien combatant or some vicious nocturnal predator, it was the dog like creature she'd saved days earlier. In its mouth it clutched some kind of rodent that had came here with the original colonists and mutated. Zoey's first thought was that she had stumbled into one of it's boltholes but it did not drop its meal and try to attack her. Instead it cautiously inched forward and dropped the prey about a foot from her outstretched feet then pulled back and waited. For a few minutes they starred at each other like on the fateful night days ago, finally unable to resist her hunger Zoey painfully moved forward and snagged the rat like creature. She ate only pieces she was familiar with, it should have tasted disgusting but right now, to her, it was the best thing she'd ever eaten. After picking out all the parts she knew was safe she tossed it over by the creature and it tore into what was left. For a few more days this happened, the creature would visit her each night with some small prey animal and they would share it. Eventually she managed to get her strength back up and made her way back to the Den with her new friend in tow, Drug (Drook) Its Russian for friend.
