This is Silver's home, well, he says it's just his home, but it's actually a 500-year-old Spanish manor (named St. Maria) with a wrap-around porch and servant entrances in the back. The manor has been in his father's family since before the foundation of Kuro Shiro as a place for sorcerers could meet in secret. The house itself is riddled with secret passageways that only the homeowner knows, not even adventurous children can find these passages, they can only find the servant's passages.
The manor has one kitchen, one den, three drawing rooms, two offices, seven bathrooms, and 15 bedrooms.
Silver, his father and stepmother, and his three half-siblings live in the manor along with nine full-time staff members, including his father's butler, his stepmother's personal maid, and the family tutor. And he'd guess he'd include Mrs. Kitty, the cute kitty-cat who follows him around. Silver thinks she lives in the barn or woods on the outskirts of the family estate. He certainly hasn't seen any rats in the barn for awhile.
Manor Residents: Sanchez family: Raphael Sanchez V (57) María Teresa Rodriguez-Sanchez (43) Silver Sanchez (17) Tomás Sanchez (14) Emilia Sanchez (11) Joaquín Sanchez (9)

Raphael "Silver" Joseph-Javier Sanchez VI walked down the upstairs hallway, sticking close to the walls because he was dead tired, and it wasn't even half-past noon. The young sorcerer woke up every day at six-thirty in the morning, dressed, ate breakfast, practiced the violin, studied spells and language, ate lunch, and then practiced the cello. After cello practice, he would study history and geography, then mathematics and science before study spells and language again. Then dinner time would roll by at six p.m. and finally he'd have the rest of the evening to himself. This schedule changed during school hours, but since school was out, his father made sure he and his three younger siblings continued to focus on their studies. The only time this schedule was broken was for special occasions and meetings. Otherwise, nothing changed. He wished it would so he could do something else with his life.
Silver was terrible at magic, he could barely preform the simplest of spells, spells that six-year-old children could do with ease. This weak magic of his made the young man isolate himself from other sorcerers' children. He didn't want them to think he was weak and bring shame onto his family. Silver was the firstborn and heir to the Sanchez family, so he needed to be a strong sorcerer. He just wished he knew how. "Whatever, it's time for cello lessons," he grumbled as he walked back to the music room. Another lesson with Señora Ortiz, another day lost with nothing interesting happening aside from watching Emilia's doll, action figure, and stuffed animal armies wage another war with each other. Otherwise, it was a normal, boring day.

Mrs. Kitty knew he was here in this house somewhere, she just wasn't sure where he had gone. Did this house have to have so many rooms? So far she has seen at least 10 bedrooms! She paused with an annoyed grumble to pick a paw and drag it over hear head. She should try to look nice for her master. Well, he's not my master yet... If only she could find him!
She looked up to take stock of where she was. It was a very small enclosed hallway, and it smelled dusty, as if it was untravelled. So basically, I have no idea where I am. She knew she wasn't getting anywhere just sitting here, so she stood up again, and began making her way down they hallway, hoping to catch sight of the magician Silver, or at least his scent, her little bell jingling.
[piloting a NPC for this scene.]
Emilia Sanchez spotted her brother and though about just letting him go on his way. After all, he was very busy. But she missed him! They were both always so busy, him being the heir and her being a precious daughter. I should just say hello...
"Silver!" She greeted her brother, running up and hugging him from behind. her little hands grabbed onto his shirt. "Guess who it is!"

Silver stumbled when grabbed from behind, but laughed when he heard the voice of his attacker. Emilia was only 11, but she remained small. He wished she would always be so small, like Joaquín's size, but she wouldn't like that at all. She had hearts to break in the future. "Eh...I dunno, who is it?" he asked before he spun around and picked his little half-sister up by her waist. "Oh, it's just you, Mia! I thought you were someone scary." He spun her around, laughing, before setting her back on the ground.
[Piloting NPC characters!]
Tomás Sanchez yawned as he walked down the hallway with Joaquín, both of them having just woken up from their naps. Señora Ortiz always told them they were too old enough for naps anymore, but he knew no one was too old for naps. It was a fact of life. Señora Ortiz just liked being a stick in the mud. "I'm hungry," he said with a yawn. Joaquín nodded, too sleepy to answer, as he clutched his pirate teddy bear Captain Poppy. Usually, Emilia took it to play, not with permission, so it was a treat for Joaquín to play with his own toy. "Think Fernando will let us eat—Wait, what was that?" The fourteen-year-old stopped his brother and listened for the sound again. Jingle. Sharing a look with Joaquín, the two brothers headed toward the sound.
Turning the corner, Joaquín Sanchez spotted the source of the noise. "It's a kitty cat!" he shouted before running down the hallway to the cat. It was a pretty black cat and he wanted to play with her. Behind him, Tomás shouted, "Wait, let's dress it up in Mia's dolls' clothes!" Joaquín shouted his agreement as he neared the cat.

Emilia smiled like an angel, and laughed like one too, until she was placed back on the ground. "Silver..." She bit her lip and looked at her feet, knowing this was her killer look. Most of the servants would give her candy for it. "I was wondering, do you wanna sneak out of Cello lessons today to play with me? Please!" She asked him, turning her face up to his. "I wanna look for more secret passages!"
Mrs. Kitty froze as she heard footsteps rapidly approaching her. She yowled in shock as a smaller human male picked her up and ran with her through the complicated house, everything wizzing by too fast for her to make out where she was. She would have scratched him, but he was so little, she didn't want to harm the poor thing. Still, she needed to find someone, and this taking up time!
It's okay, I'll just find a way to escape that doesn't involve hurting the little guy, and then- oh no! She watched as the bigger of the two brought over some clothes that looked like they belonged to a doll. No way Mr! I only wear clothes when I'm in human form, and they sure aren't dresses that small or frilly! She thought to herself, releasing a hiss and trying to wriggle free from the vice like grip the smaller one was holding her in. This is animal cruelty, someone stop this criminal! I have rights!

Silver watched Mia perform her signature killer look and crossed his arms in defiance, a smirk on his face. As much as he loved his sister, he taught her that killer look. He knew how to use it and how to fend it off. Aside from that, he didn't want to get into trouble with Papá and Mamá, or worry them to no end. Last time he let Emilia and their brothers search for secret passages, Joaquín got lost for two hours. "Sorry, Mia, but we can't today. We can in the evening—What was that?" He grabbed Emilia and covered her mouth with his right hand to keep her from speaking.
Silver listened for the sound again. Yes, pounding footsteps and shouting. It was Tomás and Joaquín. Why were they shouting and running in the halls? Did they want Juan to yell at them again? Last time they ran down the halls, they broke a vase, and though it was inexpensive, they could have cut themselves on the shards. Then Silver heard a jingle and hissing. "Instead of searching for passages, let's investigate what our dear brothers are up to, eh?" He grinned devilishly as he release Mia. This would be more fun than searching for passageways, and they wouldn't get into so much trouble.
When they caught the cat, Tomás immediately checked for its gender and discovered it was a girl. She was a cute kitty cat and Joaquín liked her. His little brother sang a Spanish lullaby to the cat while he went for one of Emilia's dolls—she had so many of them, some of them were the size of Joaquín, and some of the toys in the room was his and Joaquín's, which annoyed him—he didn't know which doll, just one that would fit the cat. It took a little less than six minutes to get to Mia's room and find a doll. After he put the dress from the doll on the cat, he was about to put the second booty onto the black cat's front paw when she started hissing and wiggling. The fourteen-year-old saw his brother's big doe eyes go wide before releasing the cat. The sorcerers never had pets before, so he and Joaquín didn't know how to properly handle the cat.
As Tomás managed to put one of the pink and frilly dresses from Mia's favorite doll, Queen Sassybuns, onto the kitty cat, Joaquín made sure to hold onto the black kitty so she wouldn't run away. When the kitty yowled earlier, he had been scared, she didn't hiss or hurt him, so he figured she was just scared, but now she was hissing and wiggling free. He got scared, afraid she'd bite him, so he let her go. "Tomás, we need to get the dress back. Queen Sassybuns can't go around nude. Mia says so," said the nine-year-old as he started following the cat again. "Wait, kitty-cat! We need the dress!" he shouted to the cat. Tomás ran ahead of him, also shouting, "Stop, cat!" They needed to get the dress back or else Emilia would sent her doll armies after them.

Mrs. Kitty almost froze in her dash from freedom, when they called her the special name. Kitty. It reminded her of her old master, and the one she was searching for now. But the pink frills were inexcusable, and she continued on her mad dash down the halls, trying not to feel guilty for scaring the child. She hardly even noticed the other two people she passed, as she skidded down the halls, the kids on her trail. This is a nightmare! I'd rather have a hairball!
Emilia stuck out her lip in a pout, prepared to sulk, until Silver grabbed her and covered her moth with his hand. She listened with him until she was free, readjusting the wrinkles in her dress with some irritation. "Okay, that sounds fun!" She agreed, and grabbed his hand, tugging him through the halls.
They weren't more then a few seconds into their search when a back cat barrelled out of a room, and into the same hall as them. Looking like a bat out of hell, it zoomed straight for them, skidded at the last second, and turned down another hall. Emilia's eyebrows creased, and hands on her hips she stared down her other brothers who were chasing the cat. She stepped into their path, effectively cutting off their chase. "Why was that cat wearing Queen Sassybun's dress?" She looked them each in the eyes, one at a time. "It's going to be covered in cat hair! And now my doll is naked! You'd better get that dress back right away, or else-"
She was cut off after the sound of something crashing and a loud cat screech.

Tomás skidded to a halt when Mia stepped into his path before he clutched Joaquín's shoulder. Though when Silver and Emilia caught what they were doing, though their fear was toward Mia, not Silver. She'd turn them into toads or something horrible. "Oh, look at that. I think we should investigate, right Joaquín?" As they heard a man curse in Spanish—he prayed to God it wasn't Juan—he pulled Joaquín along as they ran down the hall to the crashing and screeching.
When he heard the crashing and screeching, Joaquín's fear disappeared for a moment. "Yeah, gotta go." Staring wide-eyed at Silver and Mia, Joaquín stayed close to Tomás as if he could save him from their sister's wrath. Only Silver could save them from Emilia's fury—their parents encouraged their magic, Silver just stopped them from fighting—he was a good big brother. He and Tomás turned the corner and spotted one of their potted flowers on the floor, the dirt covering the carpet, and Juan cursing at the kitty-cat. Tomás shouted, "It's Juan! Run!" "Kitty! Come back!" Joaquín shouted to the cat while his brother distracted Juan, they'd get scolded later, but they needed to save the kitty-cat first and get Queen Sassybun's dress back. He didn't want to be tied up against a tree again. With a fire lit beneath him. And toys chanting for his death. Silver saved him last time, and the time before...
Silver pinched Mia's cheek when he saw the fear in their brothers' eyes, especially Joaquín, Emilia always gave him a hard time since he was the youngest. "Let's go the other way and avoid Juan. We'll meet up with Tomás and Joaquín on the other side." He also hoped they'd find the cat. He was sure she was the cat that liked to follow him around, the one he met in the rain a few years ago. This was the first time she wandered into his home.

Emilia frowned at all of her brothers, but finally she nodded her consent to Silver. "Alright, but I want to catch that cat." She headed around the other side. "I want the dress back, and the cat would be fun to play with."
What kind of sick death trap was this?! That vase hadn't been there before, and then suddenly flowers and a wave of water had poured over her, weighting down the already heavy pink frilly net she was wearing. Why did I even come here again?! This is horrible! I need to escape, I need to- She watched as a big man swatted at her, and she hissed, swiping out with her claws. Then more steps could be heard scampering down the hall towards her. Leave me alone!!! She dashed away from the big man and the smaller boy again, only to come face to face with a little girl and an older guy she didn't get a good look at, because she bolted away. Someone save me! Almighty god cats, have mercy on my poor soul!

Joaquín darted around Silver and Emilia as he chased the black cat into the music room—Señora Ortiz was not in the room, thank God—and managed to corner her between the bookcase and another plotted plan. "Don't run, kitty-cat," said the nine-year-old as he reached for the cat.
After evading Juan, Tomás ran down the hallway and into the music room where he saw a black streak and his little brother dash into. Then he saw Silver dash into the room, shouting some profanities Señora Ortiz would make him pay for later. "Wait, Silver, let us catch the cat!" he shouted down the hall before making a tight swing into the room. He looked from the grand, five-hundred-year-old piano in the center of the room to his brothers and sister cornering the cat.
At moments like these, Silver wished he was better at magic than he was now because if he was at the level most sorcerers' children were at, he could make the cat and his brothers freeze instead of chasing them through the house, which was what he was doing now along with dragging Emilia with him. They managed to cut off the cat, but she streaked away in a lighting fast ball of fear with Joaquín at her heels. The poor cat, she would have a heart attack from all this. He was sure he already saw gray hairs on her muzzle.
When all five of them, him, his brothers and sister, and the cat, were finally in the same room, they were all yelling over each other. Joaquín telling the cat not to run away while Tomás telling him not to catch the cat, to let him and their younger brother catch her. He didn't bother listening to Emilia because he was afraid of what she'd say. In the end, Silver just stared at the ceiling, counted down from ten in Spanish, took a deep breath, and then yelled, "God forbid. Back away from the cat! Tom, close the door behind us. Let her take a breather, you guys are killing her." His brothers froze while they surrounded the cat. They wouldn't get anywhere this way. Finally, Tomás moved toward the door and closed it. Now the cat had no where to run and no where to hide.

Mrs. Kitty really really wanted to avoid scratching the little human, but she was a creature of survival, and if he didn't step back very soon...
She heard the one who had made her come here make strange sounds she didn't understand, and then he told the others to step back from her and they obeyed. Slowly her pelt began to lie flat again, and she lowered her half-raised paw. She eyes them all, before taking a cautious step forward. "Well, it's about time you stopped the smaller ones, I nearly ran right out of my pelt!" She spoke to the one who would be her master, while keeping ears out for an approach from the smaller ones. "Now, please get this horrible cloth thing off of me, before all my dignity is lost! Oh, my poor late Master and my mother must be rolling in their graves." her tail lashed irritably. "Then we can discuss the contract I came here to make with you, Silver Sanchez."
Amilia was shocked. The cat could talk?!

Joaquín froze after he covered his mouth with both hands when the cat spoke, as if he was the one speaking and regretted it, but this cat didn't. Cats couldn't talk, at least they shouldn't, so why did she? Plus, she was really angry at them. He didn't want the kitty-cat to be angry at them. Sorry, kitty-cat, he whispered in his mind, too afraid of talking out loud in case the kitty yelled at him.
When the cat talked, Tomás' jaw dropped as he stood frozen where he stood. The...cat...talked...and she was reprimanding them! What was going on?! Emilia...she didn't drug us again...right? he thought as he finally remembered he could move. The boy took several steps away from the cat, afraid of catching what she got to make her talk. He didn't want to become a freak.
It took a minute for Silver to process what was happening. His younger siblings were, for the first time, utterly speechless. So was he, but he bounced back from it faster than they did. When they did, they started screaming and jumping up and down with joy. His brothers whooped and hug-attacked Emilia while they continued to whoop. A talking cat was so weird, it was up their alley completely. Joaquín apologized about chasing her while Tomás kind of apologized for the dress. Silver suspected he wasn't sorry, but he'd let it slide for the time being.
However, unlike them and without a moment's hesitation, Silver scooped up the black cat and freed her from Queen Sassybun's dress and booties. "Mrs. Kitty, it's nice to make your acquaintance again, I haven't seen you much since we met in the rain, what an epic romance, but you should've called ahead to make an appointment. Now, here's your doll's clothes back, Mia. It's time to call Papá and Mamá. They need to meet our new cat." He scratched the black cat under her chin and smiled down at her. She was so small in his arms and it added to her cuteness.
Silver wanted to continue petting the cat until Juan and Señora Ortiz busted through the door. He wasn't afraid of Juan as much as Señora Ortiz, she scared him with her pleasant face, but evil teaching tactics. She made him do assignments without realizing it. He didn't like being tricked. Still, he couldn't let them ruin this moment for them. "Señora Ortiz, sorry, but we gotta skip today's lesson." He showed the black cat to the two adults, neither of them looking convinced at his words or gesture. "She talks and she wants to be my one and only, so Juan, contact my father. None of us will take no as an answer, right Mrs. Kitty? I won't let anyone take you away from me." He spoke as he finally fully processed what the cat had said to him when she first spoke. Her poor, late Master and contract, she was a wizard's familiar. He only knew of one old wizard who died within the last ten years—people in Kuro Shiro didn't die as often as one would be led to believe. Only when major fights happen did death occur—so this cat must have been his familiar. He guessed her mother was the familiar before him. He hoped she got her looks from her because she was so cute.

As soon as the clothes were off the cat, Amilia snatched them from her brother, shooting daggers at her little brother. She was no longer phased by the talking cat, she'd done stranger things with her magic. What did phase her was Juan and Señora Ortiz, and she bolted thought the opposing door as they entered, going to return the dress to Queen Sassybuns.
Mrs. Kitty was very pleased to finally be freed to the human garment, and she blinked up at Silver as he spoke of the day in the rain. So it was confirmed, he was the one. Her tracking had be dead on, despite being a cat rather then a dog. Disgusting creatures, dogs. Not to mention they had never held the honourable position of Familiar, while many cats had. "Honestly, how would you expect me to make an appointment?" She asked Silver, rolling her eyes. "I am a cat. And besides, I found you, though I nearly lost my wits for it." Though her tone was chastising, she couldn't help purring in his arms as he scratched her under her chin, the little bell on her collar jingling as he did.
Mrs. Kitty jumped again as through the door busted two more people. If this keeps up, I'll have gone grey by noon! She was careful to retract her half un-sheathed claws, not wanting to scratch the wizard she was trying to make a deal with. She looked up at him as he spoke of not letting anyone take her away from him. From the sounds of it, he was going to accept her deal. "Silver is correct." She spoke from his arms, trying to sound dignified while being held above the ground by something other then under her own power. "He shall be my Master, and I his Familiar, if he will have me. And when the deal is done, you cannot keep me from him." Not that she suspected the humans would try, more that they were confused. In need of some clarification as to what was going on here.
These two are going to make quite the pair! XD

Tomás shared a glance with his younger brother and the two brothers left the room, following behind Emilia as Silver distracted the adults. The boys wanted to keep the cat, but they were still scared of their tutor and their father's butler. Their father himself, not so much.
Joaquín shivered when Emilia glared at him, but said nothing when she left. He just looked from Silver, the cat, and the adults, and then to Tomás. It was time for them to make their escape, which they did. The two boys left through the door Emilia left in and returned to doing things besides being loud and noisy inside the house.
Silver stifled a laugh as his younger siblings made their exit, he understood their fear, though he wished they stayed longer to watch Juan and Señora Ortiz as their jaws dropped open when the cat spoke human tongue. It was hilarious. "Well, Kitty, I assumed you, an intelligent and gorgeous example of a feline, would ask around town for my address and then contact people who know me so we could set up a meeting and discuss our contract. I'm somewhat famous around town, at least in the younger generation." He continued to pet the cat, deciding it was time to scratch the side of her head, right below the ear. She was really soft and warm. "Though I apologize for my siblings. We've never had pets, much less enchanted familiars. I think they're more of dog people, if you couldn't tell. They want pets that will let them dress them up and do whatever they want." He dramatically sighed, closing his eyes as he playfully lamented on his family's faults.
As he lamented, Silver opened one eye and watched the adults. It was a good idea. Between the two of them, rapid Spanish passed as their voices grew louder and louder until Señora Ortiz threw up her hands and stormed out of the room. If Silver wasn't fluent in Spanish, he would have no idea what they said. Good thing he was fluent because it made the entire argument between them better. Ortiz said no, Juan said yes; Ortiz said the cat was a distraction he and his siblings did not need, Juan said a cat would teach the irresponsible and spoiled them to behave and learn responsibility; Ortiz said the cat could be a spy from a rival family, Juan said it was unlikely since she could talk and that as the master's personal butler, he out-ruled her. It took all Silver could to stop himself from snickering at Señora Ortiz. For once, victory for him and his siblings. Beaming, Silver agreed to wait in the music room while Juan went to inform his father of their latest family member.
Once he was gone, Silver looked down at the black cat in his arms, and asked, "No one can keep you from me, but I must ask, where are you from and what is your actual name? I just call you Mrs. Kitty because it's cute." He really wanted to pet her all over, but he resisted the urge. Right now, it was business. They could not afford to get distracted.

Mrs. Kitty released a huff. "As you can see by your family and servants reactions, walking around town and asking where you were, may have only made the people run away. Or, from what I've heard, upset their delicate female hearts to hear of you again." She couldn't help a purr of amusement. Silver would be a very different Master then her old one, but she was a sucker for flattery. "I suppose I could have used my other form, but I like this one so much better."
She tried not to re-think her terrible ordeal with the smaller children, as Silver apologized. "I will teach them how to properly treat a cat, if I get the chance. For now, I am pleased enough that you seem to know what you are doing." It was true, he did seem to posses some knowledge on how to handle a cat. She listened idly to the chatter of the other two, as they spoke in the language she didn't understand.
Mrs. Kitty could hear the switch in Silver's tone as they moved to the other room, and she copied it. After all, it was a serious question. "I have been in Kuro Shiro all my life. My mother traveled here with her Master, and here was where she gave birth to me and my two brothers. As for my actual name, I have been called Mrs. Kitty or Kitty by my old master since the day I was born, and my mother called me a name that is a sort of meow I am not sure you can replicate. So Mrs. Kitty or Kitty is my name to any non-cats." She informed him. "Have you ever had a Familiar before? Do you know what role I will be fulfilling, once the contract is complete?" She knew which role she intended to fulfill, but she wanted to know his intentions before making a deal with him. And she would instruct him on Familiars, if he had never had one before, which was possible, given his young appearance.
