The Guardian's record show that:
Abaddon was born to a military family, he was one of three brothers, he also had a sister. His parents were very involved in the military, although not very high ranking compared to others, they each commanded a regiment within their own fields. Abaddon like one of his younger brothers was recruited as a Solider. The oldest brother was recruited as an OIT, the younger of the brothers became a Sentinel. While his sister became a Ranger. Each progressed with each of their chosen paths to a point. However it has been confirmed that Abaddon's sister the ranger, Seras, and his younger brother the solider who had recently transferred to be a Jumpingbird, Thane, were both listed as KIA. His remaining older brother in the OIT, Nero, And younger brother the Sentinel, Sanguine, are both still in active duty. Abaddon has not seen any of his family since just after the death of his sister Seras. The reasoning behind the sudden and almost total lack of interest in his genetic counterparts is still not entirely clear. But what is clear, is how it effected Abaddon in battle, he seemed to turn in on himself, he would still follow orders and act as efficiently as before, but now he seemed to almost wander off... He would end up a fair distance away from his unit and take it upon himself to deal with more dangerous situation. It didn't take long for his performance to be evaluated, but instead of a demotion or any kind of reprimand, he was transferred, he became a Stalker.

This roll seemed to fit him much better, not long after his transfer is when his younger brother was pronounced KIA. This did not seem to faze him nearly as much as his sisters death if at all... As the years went on, Abaddon earned a name for himself as a Stalker that preferred medium to close range fighting, he was able to easily adapt to the Jump Pack and use the travel method to move so much faster, he was even once able to catch up to an escaping vehicle before forcing his way inside and retrieving valuable... 'intel'... not to mention slaughtering the occupants before crashing the vehicle back into the enemy strong hold. While many thought he was showing off, or being a little crazy his explanation, the thought process he had to get to this course of action caught the attention of some higher ups. Eventually, and after more than a few occasions where his metal was well and truly tested Abaddon was recruited as a Reaper. He was trained in many Avocations, but settled more on the previous training he had originally received, if the word Reaper was not fitting enough for him, then he would be some combination of Solider and Stalker.

Since his induction to become a Reaper he has had literally no contact with his 'family'. He occasionally visits the graves of his brother and sister, Seras and Thane, and his father, Lock. The remaining brothers and mother know of Abaddon's success in becoming a Reaper, but that is the extent of their knowledge on his progress in life. Abaddon's personality has not changed very much since he first joined the military, with exception of the death of his sister Seras. It changed little more when he became a Reaper. Abaddon seems to keep himself at a distance from the world around him. Looking at everything from an outsiders perspective. He does not have friends and as far as he is concerned he has no family. The only people he registers or recognizes are those of higher rank then himself, or those on the same operation as himself. This does not mean team, this means operation, if its a war, then he recognizes every solider. If it is a small group assault, then it is just the group. He does this to the best of his ability, but on the smaller operations it is much easier to remember the skills, names and faces of every person involved. However as he is now a Reaper, the missions are ether solo, or small groups, which makes remembering names a lot easier.
