There's good music, there's great music, and then there are the songs that provoke such a strong emotional reaction that they give you goosebumps. I'm sure we've all heard at least one of the latter. Here is a thread in which to share and to discuss your favorite "goosebumps-music," and music that can take you to the extremities of any end of the spectrum of human emotion.

Just to get the ball rolling:

"Dondante" by My Morning Jacket.
A song about a childhood friend that off'ed himself.
Sad stuff.

"This is the Life" by Dream Theater.
A song about making do with what you've got.
Happy stuff.

"Nights in White Satin" by The Moody Blues.
A classic song about a broken heart.
More sad stuff.

"Wanted To" by Infected Mushroom
Hebrew psy-trance music.
What feelings it provokes, I can't quite say.
But there's certainly something.

Death Is the Road to Awe by Clint Mansell. It's a soundtrack piece for the movie The Fountain, which is basically about death (but not in a super morbid way, necessarily). It takes me to a really weird place, but it's awesome.

Cosmic Love by Florence + The Machine. I'm not sure why this song does it to me, but it gives me lots of those emotion things.

Hægt, kemur ljósið by Olafur Arnalds. After watching the video with that song, every time I hear it now it just makes me want to cry.

Twelfth of Never by Johnny Mathis. It's one of those super gushy "I love you soooo much" songs, but something about it is so sincere and I can't help but get emotional when I hear it.

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. It's been stated that this song doesn't really have a meaning, but I don't care, I have my own interpretation and Freddie Mercury's a freaking warlock so it's just powerful to me.

"He is not Bill Murray. AHUUAAAHUAAAHUAAHAU."
(In chorus) "AHUAAAHUAHAUAAAHUAAA"

My mind is bubbling over in waves of awe and Bill Murray.
Also this is important.

How to Save a Life by the Fray. I don't even listen to the band but the song effects me on a very personal level.

Mother I'm Coming Home from Bastion. The whole soundtrack of the game is just fantastic but this song in particular really struck a chord for me because of the scene it plays in. For the full effect, the song should be experienced though the lens of the game.

Do You Realize?? by The Flaming Lips. It took a while for the impact of this song to really settle in, but once it did I just started bawling.

Legend of the Black Shawarma by Infected Mushroom. It's a mostly instrumental track, but the little lyrics it does have are very effective.

"Mad World" by Gary Jules.
Soundtrack from Donnie Darko, a good movie for tripping acid.
I'm sure you've heard it. Super sad stuff. Especially in the context of the movie.

"Requiem for a Dream" by Clint Mansell.
Soundtrack from Requiem for a Dream. Sad movie about substance abuse.
I'm sure you've heard it. Super sad stuff. Especially in the context of the movie.

"Portals of Light" by Falconer.
A song about dearly loved one passing on. With a kick-a** guitar solo.
Probably a sad as a song about death can be.

"Cry Just a Little" by Avantasia.
A song about a chick that refuses to admit she misses a dude.
Sad stuff. Not a good song to listen to hundreds of times after a breakup.
I mean, like, probably. Not that I would know.

"Zzyzx Rd" by Stone Sour.
A ballad from a metal band about giving ********. I'm on a roll with the sad songs.

"Por ti Volare" by Andrea Bocelli.
Among Bocelli's best work; though, you've probably heard it from Step Brothers.
Translates into "For You, I Would Fly." Happy song. One of my true "goosebumps-songs".
