After the official invite Peyton had shoved her phone into the deepest recesses of her pocket with the intent to ignore any and all notifications, but the self awareness to know if it buzzed at her enough she'd break down and check for messages. It wasn't a flawless plan, but it was certainly better than arguing with Rep over how amazing her childhood had been with her rich daddy. A Disney movie would make a great distraction, even better when coupled with the company of Taym and the prospect of any witty commentary or questions that might arise during.

She'd pulled her dragon hoodie on over the t-shirt she'd been wearing, hood up. They matched the scale print knee highs she was wearing, and a pair of jogging shorts completed the outfit. Ombre hair had been pulled down into two loose braids. She'd thought about grabbing an arm loud of bedding just for comforts sake, but ultimately decided against it, instead grabbing a single small throw blanket, just in case.

After a pit stop at one of the vending machines for a grape soda she headed up to the second floor(she'd be moving up there very soon herself, she could feel it in her bones!). Taym's door was indeed open, and she let herself in with a soft knock on the frame before closing it behind her. "Hey." There was residual grumpiness in her voice.

He barely glanced up when she arrived. Taym had not scavenged furniture with an eye to communal movie-watching: the best he could do was drag the desk chair and the armchair over to the same general area and open the laptop on the desk. He had, rather rudely, claimed the armchair for himself and left the other for her. He was huddled up in it, knees drawn up, tapping a pencil irritably on the edge of a notebook with one hand while the other dangled a half-empty vodka bottle.

"You shouldn't bother," he said immediately, in lieu of a greeting. He jabbed the bottle (somewhat wobbily, it must be said) in the direction of the laptop.

"Well hello to you, too," she fired back at him, a cool smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she eyed the bottle in his hands. "And neither should you." He had wonderful advice to give, seemed a waste if he didn't take it as well now and again. At least she hadn't risen to Rep's father bait.

It seemed very odd to her that he'd taken the armchair over the desk chair, but she didn't b***h, instead dropping into the other and drawing her legs up to tuck heels against the edge. The blanket she'd brought was draped over them, and her soda was tucked up between thigh sand stomach for the time being.

A glance was aimed at the paper he was tap-tapping against, but he was always working on one thing or another, and if he felt like sharing about it he would. Maybe.

"Have you seen Princess and the Frog?"

The barest pause in the constant tap-tap-tap.

"Yes," he said shortly.

That made her blink at him, brows arching upward to mingle with side swept bangs. "Really?"

"I have four little sisters," was all he said, moving on to actually writing something. His hands were shaking again; he was clearly having trouble but it was apparently preferable to the restless tapping. He didn't stop as he helped himself to another pull right out of the bottle. "But if you want to watch it again I don't care."

"Ah." That seemed reasonable, so she let it go. A few seconds a silence stretched between them as she watched him. Something was eating at him, it was obvious, but she wasn't sure if prodding him about it was the best idea. Sometimes he didn't respond well well to obvious care.

For the moment she let him write, the swirl of liquid in his bottle weirdly loud. It had her reaching out to poke at the touch pad on the laptop, navigating to the folder with all the movies, and further into the one specifically for Disney. When she located the one she wanted she gave it a double click and hit a button to enlarge it to full screen.

As the title number began to play she glanced in his direction again, lips pursed in a thoughtful pout. "Do you like it?"

"It's fine," he said, trying to sound casual and instead sounding snippy, irritable, just as he always, always did.

He lapsed into silence again. One would think that he resented her for being there, but Taym was never especially shy about saying so when he wanted to be left alone. So, then, he must have been craving company to have acquiesced so easily to her request, even if he was being a miserable, half-drunk a*****e about it.

When he spoke again, it was, characteristically, to needle her into talking. Even if there was a movie going, he apparently equated this with little better than silence. "How was America's thing?"

It was because he always, always sounded snippy that she didn't take offense of even really react to it beyond a soft hmm of acknowledgement as she screwed the lid off her soda and took a drink.

It was a little startling when Taym spoke up. She'd actually expected him to fall right back into his work once the movie provided an acceptable excuse to avoid small talk. The teen would have been perfectly happy to sink into the movie, but she'd never turned down a conversation with the Moon before, and had no intention of starting now.

"It was fun. Lots of people, as was excepted, and lots of good food." Kostya was a bomb-a** cook. "Were you working late?"

Another pause. "Yeah," he said finally, and it was true but it was also a lie. When the portals were down Taym could be lured into social situations with alcohol, but as the half-empty bottle in his hand (and the trembling, and the boneless posture, and the vaguely slurred words) indicated, this was no longer acceptable bait. "I left her a gift so she can't hold it over my head for the next year."

A considering look took in the whole of him, from hunched figure, to the bottle in his hand. "I'm sorry you had to miss it." Her voice soft, she kept her tone neutral, giving him an easy escape from the topic. True, he'd brought it up, but something was very obviously bothering hi, and with that last comment she was beginning to get the impression that it had something to do with America.

"What did you get her?" She almost hadn't asked, but she was genuinely curious.

"Books," he said simply, tiredly, and it wasn't even a fraction of the story but it was still just books, the only thing he knew how to give. "What'd you get her?"

Her gaze had, for the most part, been flicking back and forth between the screen, but that tired tone in his voice pulled her her around to him, small figure leaning back in her chair more comfortably. He didn't want to talk, not really, but he wanted her to talk. To fill the silence, even if it wasn't really silent with the Creole voodoo number from the movie playing in the background. "I got replicas of the rings we got in wonderland. I got her's, and Noah's for his birthday, and the two I had."

He was silent for a long time before acknowledging, grudgingly: "That's a good ******** gift, you thoughtful little s**t. I don't know if you ever saw mine. It looked like it was made by a one-handed cave troll with a mallet. Not very... decorative."

Pale brows rose up, expression a mix of equal parts insulted and touched. "Thank you?" She laughed, she couldn't help it. A soft, half stifled chuckle she tried to smoother with her hand.

"I didn't get to see your's," she admitted, sounding genuinely disappointed. "I didn't get to see much of you at all on that trip." Except in the tavern, she'd seen him there. And at the final battle with the queen, before everything had gone all strange. Well...more strange. "I was kinda worried, but we all came home alright."
