Alright everyone, so I'm going to be starting an RP here. Lately, there have been a few ideas rolling around in my head. But, obviously, I want to write something that appeals to others so that we have a decent cast. That being said, which idea would you most like to see? I'll leave the voting up for a week while I work on graphics and such and see which idea wins. Feel free to comment and suggest as well!
Idea #1- Selection
Based on the Selection novels. It is a dystopian future where, in the totalitarian government that rules Illea, formerly the US, the heir to the throne chooses his bride out of the females within his populace as a show of integration and hope. However, the contests are fixed by the government and the long, multi-staged selection process is mainly for public benefit. The current king and his advisors rule over the proceedings and use power and coercion to assure that people act the way they want and ultimately, that the Prince chooses as they wish. However, Rebels from the north are regularly raiding the castle and rebellion is brewing within the lower ranks of societies enforced 'caste system'. The girls who were brought into the castle don't know why they were chosen, some were just to allow the public to believe that an average girl from the lower castes might have a chance. Others the King actually thinks might have potential to help them control the Prince and the nation.
Idea #2 - Detective School
When one thinks of great detectives, names like Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Piorot or even Bruce Wayne might spring to mind. But everyone knows that they are only fictional characters. What they don't know is that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie and Bill Finger (the little known creator of Batman) among many others and all of them under protected identities were themselves the masterful detectives. And they all shared the same education, at Burbidge U. Of course, not all of the students go on to write about their adventures under pen names. But those that do have entranced readers for decades with their tales of brilliant minds too perfect to exist. In truth, there are many out there. And Burbidge churns out more elite every year. And now, because of your individual and specific skill, we have come to recruit you.
Idea #3 - Corps
In the future, the threat to our existence turns out to be not global climate change or polluted air and water but each other. World War III would be the war to end all wars, on earth anyway. While one side of the government and all of the nations attention was on the war effort, money was being pumped into the space programs. The objective: mass colonization of the moon. As our closest planetary body, it was the first choice in a pinch. The space station that was constructed was massive, but still, it could only hold a few million. The idea was to construct several space stations across the moon. However, due to impending nuclear strikes, the mass exodus happened sooner than planned and colonists were being shipped to an incomplete space station. The extra bodies were unskilled laborers but they tried. Still, hunger, thirst and disease were problems that quickly plagued the group. Within one month, the population dropped from 5 million to less than a million. On Earth, the remaining citizens were eeking out the last of the war. Now, fifty years later, the one space station is still all that is on the moon, though the survivors are trying to work on a second station. All communication with Earth has been lost. But, materials are short, a mission has been planned to return to Earth, gauge the situation in order to determine the future of the human race. The military branch on the space station has been training for this mission for years. The reconnaissance team will consist of two shuttles, six military officers, a scientist, a computer engineer, a doctor and a diplomat. This is their story.
Anyway, just a couple ideas that I have had. Let me know if anything looks interesting to you!
