Kohaku let out a loud sigh of relief as she finished sweeping the leaves off the main porch. Putting the broom back in storage, she walked back outside and sat on the steps in front of the shrine. "What to do, what to do.
Kohaku said to herself as she stared at the path before her. Her fox spirit familiar came up beside her and snuggled into her side. Smiling, she contently stroked its fur as she thought of something to do. "You must be bored, aren't you little buddy?" Kohaku asked her familiar who simply looked at her with its head tilted to the side in confusion. Hm. Maybe I should try summoning a second familiar. she thought. She hadn't attempted to do so before and she wasn't even sure she had the power to do such a thing. After all, there was no harm in trying. Kohaku recited the somewhat lengthy summon and watched as a portal began to form. This portal, however, was much larger and brighter than any she had ever created. It was almost blinding. Kohaku waited with baited breath to see if her attempt to summon a second familiar had worked.








Spells/Powers:
+ Kagura – Kohaku performs a few hand signals that will allow her to do one of three things:
- Surround herself with a magical energy. Performing this version will heal her (or others).
- Gain a momentary defensive barrier. It will withstand a few hits before it dispels.
- Gain a significant attack boost (Only lasts about 5 posts).
+ Spirit Familiar - Kohaku can summon a spirit familiar (usually a fox) to come to her aid. The familiar only lasts for a limited period of time (10 to 15 posts).
+ Healing - Kohaku can restore living things to their optimal health, curing broken or withered plants, wounds, broken bones, and low vitality. She can’t raise the dead.
+ Nature Manipulation - Kohaku can control/tap into elements of nature, including air, fire, water, earth, etc. Her strength is in water and ice. Use of other elements will quickly exhaust her.
+ Light energy - Kohaku can manipulate light and attack opponents with concentrated balls or beams of light energy. It's rather weak but good for melee.

                          Volpeo shouted as he was summoned to this strange realm unable to help Milla protect the kistune tree.
                          "W-where... where am I?!"
                          Asked the kitsune, confused about his current location and the reason behind all this.

Kohaku gasped as she saw the shape of a man began to clearly be outlined through the light. As soon as the light dispersed, the kitsune was fully visible to her. Oh, what have I done? Kohaku thought almost despairingly. She was hesitant to approach the kitsune had come as a result of her attempts to summon a second familiar. Her main familiar, however, seemed to have no problem in approaching the stranger. The young inari okami rushed to the man and jumped up and down in excitement. Kohaku slowly and cautiously approached the newcomer, waving nervously. She swore that she must be sweating bullets. "U-um, hello. You're at Rerumu-kan no Jinja, the Shrine between Realms, which I may have accidentally summoned you to. For that I am truly sorry for my error." Kohaku said at last.

                          Volpeo was firstly welcomed by the sight of the familiar, which he knelt down to hold the familiar face.
                          " You, which family are you from?... ghh... doesn't matter, what happened? is the Elder safe?!"
                          He asked, just as if he was talking to another person, it would seem he was aggravated because of something that happened or was happening on the place he was summoned from.
                          But he was later greeted by Kohaku, who startled Volpeo, jumping backwards as the motion also revealed a jade bead collar, similar to that of her familiar.
                          "you did what?!... Get me back to my realm. My home is under attack. I need to protect the elder."
                          Replied Volpeo, demanding it was done at once.
                          He was about to hold her by her shoulders to emphasize his hurry, but Kohaku was uneasy on her, and so his hand could not reach her. The beads would shine lightly as they would prevent Volpeo from laying a hand on her.
                          "W-what's going on?!"
                          Asked Volpeo, unaware of the laws of contracts.

Kohaku immediately went on the defensive the second his voice made it clear he was outraged. She tried to express her apologies but he just continued to yell at her. She flinched as he reached to grab her but instead was met with a jade colored light. "Huh?" Kohaku looked and saw that Volpeo's beads were shining. Those beads were very alike to the ones her familiar wore. Oh no... she thought, mentally beating herself up. "It seems I've accidentally put you under contract with me as well as my familiar." she said bracing herself for yet another violent reaction. "But we can still go back to your realm. No problem. There is a portal that is connected to each of the realms. You just have to think of where you want to go and it will bring you there." she explained, trying her best to cover up her shaking voice.

                          Kohaku wasn't far from the truth, as soon as she explained Volpeo's current situation he shocked.
                          "You did what?!"
                          The kitsune would began with his ramble once more, trying to get his hands onto her, the familiar would even groom itself, not finding necessary to protect Kohaku as There was no way he could get near her as long as she saw him as a threat. And no harm would come to her even if he tried with all his might. A contract was still a contract.
                          " I am Volpeo Fenris, leader of the E.Guard Tribe! I cannot be contracted or bound by no one, even less from a young maiden as you, especially you!"
                          He grunted, still trying to reach the girl. But if he continued rambling and scaring her off, the less he would be able to approach her.
                          "Get me back I tell you! I must protect the elder from any harm! "
                          Demanded Volpeo, fearing he might loose Milla to whatever had attacked the tree. Which made it difficult for Volpeo to calm down.
                          Perhaps a soothing spell would ease the kitsune's mind.

Kohaku felt as if she was rather helpless in a situation such as this. She remembered then that this was not the first time she had met an enraged being. Recalling what she had done then, Kohaku began to recite the words of an ancient prayer taught to her by her mentor to appease and calm living things and, mainly, the spirits. She felt the immediate change and sensed a more calming aura surround them. Breathing a deep sigh of relief as she finished reciting the incantation, Kohaku felt significantly more calm and collected. "I will tell you again if you will listen. We can still go back to your realm. There is a portal that is connected to each of the realms. You just have to think of where you want to go and it will bring you there." she explained once more. Hopefully this time, he would have calmed down and actually listened to her logic. "Come this way." she said, signaling for him to follow her as she made her way up the stairs. They walked deep into the temple where the portal resided in its full, shining glory. "Here we are. This is the portal that will bring you to any of the realms."

                          As the incantation ended, she could see Volpeo laying on the floor, while strking a model pose.
                          "Geez, if there was a portal why didn't you told me that from the beginning?!"
                          Kohaku obviously did, but he was blinded by his anxiety of being foreign to the situation, with a cleared mind, Volpeo followed Kohaku through the shrine as she explained the nature of this portal.
                          "Good, I need to get back home as soon as possible, since we were attacked by an unknown force and I must protect the Elder's life form any harm. !"
                          Explained Volpeo, which was more efficient than yelling at her demanding his deeds while scaring the heck out of the poor Maiden.
                          "I need to get to the kitsune tree as soon as possible"
                          He added, naming the realm he wished to go. Trusting Kohaku would know how to lead the way.

"What on earth...?" Kohaku almost retorted but shook her head and let it go. Hearing about the kitsune tree, Kohaku nodded. She knew for a fact she was very capable of getting there without any problem. Leaning down, she petted her familiar. "Watch the place for me, okay? I'll be back soon." she said with a smile before turning to Volpeo. "Alright, stay close and stay calm." She concentrated and thought about the location. The portal in return reacted and swallowed the two in a bright light.

Kohaku smiled and sighed with relief as she entered her home realm. Although she didn't do anything physically, she was emotionally and mentally stressed. What was she supposed to do about this situation? What if there was no way to undo the contract? She couldn't imagine living out the rest of her days with this dramatic kitsune by her side. Her first familiar had stood attentively by the gate in a manner that looked much more adorable than threatning. "Why don't you go take a break, buddy? I got it from here." she suggested, rubbing the familiar behind the ears. With a little noise, the kitsune went on its way. Now, it was time to really work. "I have no clue where to even start."

                          The Mischievous kitsune would jump off from the maiden's shoulder once they reached the portal. After that, he felt lost without the elder, so he instinctively started running in circles around the maiden as he didn't knew what else to do.

Kohaku walked along the halls, Volpeo constantly her shadow before she stopped before the large golden statue of the previous guardian. "Sensei, what am I going to do?" she thought before continuing on. Finally stopping in the seemingly never-ending hallways, Kohaku opened a door to reveal a massive library, mostly consisting of scrolls thicker than her arms. "Oh, we're in for a load of work, Volpeo." she said picking and hauling the first seemingly relevant scroll in the library.

                          Dashing through the library, the kitsune examined the various scrolls wondering which one would be the one to break the curse.

                          "Young maiden, why are all these scrolls so long?"

                          He asked rather intimidated by the complexity of most of the text that were foreign to him.
