I don't know if this is the right place to put this but here we go! A little poem that I was inspired to write when I thought about one of my homosexual cousins.
They tell me that it’s wrong
They tell me that it’s vile
Yet my heart does not protest
When I dream of you on the aisle
What I feel for you is true
And runs deep within my blood
But when I walk outside with you
The insults come in a flood
I envision you in a dress
Pure and white and fair
With stars shining in your eyes
And pearls within your hair
How can what I feel be evil
Be some unearthly sin
When all I have ever done
Is hold love for you within
I have not harmed another person
Nor have you done them foul
Yet upon their judging faces
I see hatred in their scowl
The law does not support us
And our family holds only few
And it’s all because on our special day
I’ll wear a dress just like you.
And pearls within my hair
And stars inside my eyes
But the world does not accept us
They hold loathing in their eyes
What I want is real
What I want is true
All I want is to be in a place
Where I can love a girl like you
