You arrive at what looks like an expansive palace coloured in ornate pools. Each one reflects a different facet of colour, though the entire palace is extravagant and detailed. In the center of each pool is a statue of varying shape and size. There is flora rampant around the edges of the pool, giving it a forbidden garden look. The columns that support the room are gilded in gold and ornate marble carvings, displaying the wealth of the gods.
At the center of the palace there is sealed door surrounded by two stone pillars. There are words engraved in it that are not in any language you know, but as you stare at it, they suddenly become clear.
'Drink the water of four four and then you may enter'.
The gods are cruel however, and below it are four other words.
' If you do not drink, you will perish.'
OOC CORRIDOR OF ANCIENTSWelcome to the corridor of ancients! This room has a large, open terrace-like setting - Your goal is to drink the water from at LEAST FOUR pools. Roll 1d6 to do so and match your dice roll to the result. - You must wait 5 OOC minutes between the time you posted your post to post again. In that time you can edit your post to your heart's content, or browse the AMA or whatever you please and come back! - All status effects OVERLAP. That means they PERSIST as long as they are in the room and do not cancel each other out. They literally last until you exit through the pillar. - You can interact with ANYONE inside this entire thread. - If you roll more than 10 times, you can automatically skip to the end. - Please QUOTE the person you are addressing. PVP IS enabled and optional. Same battle mechanics apply. If anyone hits 0 HP they PASS OUT and for some reason disappear (even Hunters) and appear back in the room at full health, having to restart again. - Once again effects DO stack, so if you roll 1, 1, 1, 1, etc just see below what happens. - All rooms SWAP, meaning even if you enter the same room, or different rooms of what your characters remember, it often has a different room. It is entirely trial and error. The door will remain closed until you have found 4 ICly. gaia_crown [ Rolling dice ] Rolling at 1: You may choose which corridor you find next. Rolling at 2: You drink from the pool of age. Every single time you take a sip from the pool, your (physical and mental) age increases by five years as does your maturity. If coupled with the pool of age, it resets your age and then adds five years to it. Rolling a 3: You drink from the pool of sleep. Every single time you take a sip from the pool, you fall into a dream-like state where everything seems surreal, much like being drunk. All words get slurred/ hard to say. If coupled with the water from the pool of fear, you enter a strange, crazy, acid-trip nightmare world. Rolling a 4: You drink from the pool of fear. Every single time you take a sip from the pool, your heart begins to pound a little faster. At first it isn't too bad but the feeling compounds until even the smallest squeak will terrify you. If coupled with the water from the pool of sleep, you enter a strange, crazy, acid-trip nightmare world. Rolling a 5: You drink from the pool of Insanity. Every single time you take a sip from the pool, your thoughts become more and more irrational. At first it isn't too bad but the feeling compounds until you are literally talking to people who do not exist in the room, and feel a strange compound of agitation and paranoia. You are easily excited into attacking. Rolling a 6: You drink from the pool of youth. Every single time you take a sip from the pool, your (physical and mental) age decreases by three years as does your maturity. If coupled with the pool of age, it resets your age and then subtracts it by three. If you hit 1 year somehow, you stay at that. gaia_crown [ IF YOU COMPLETED EXIT THIS ROOM ] - Once you are ready to move on you may all exit and pick the next room. IF this is your last room, you may move to the SECRET ROOM HERe. - If this is your 2nd room, and you wish to not do any more rooms, you can just linger here until the post at THURS June 11th @ 11:00 PM PST otherwise, you can linger and move to a room you haven't completed and slowly work your way through those.

Lock wasn't sure what the hell was going on.
But he DID know that Shun was up ahead, and that he could depend on the older student to tell him what to do. That, and that they needed to get to the top of the tower, to help the other reapers out. He would have preferred to run to the desert. It seemed really ******** stupid to corner yourself at the top of a tower.
"Shun!" he called, pacing forward. "What do we do?" Right now, Lock had tunnel vision. Depend on Shun. That was the goal.

Shun really wasn't sure what had just happened a few moments ago. The agency building ended up getting lost and now there was a huge tower. One that kind of reminded him of the spire at the old horsemen isles. That was enough to cause some sense of suspicion for him.
With a sigh, he went on in. Aside from wanting to get to the bottom of this whole damn mess and figuring out what would be best for their survival and whatnot, he also wanted to get the hell out of this place. The first place he chanced upon was... interesting to say in the least. He furrowed his brow, looking around at the flora all around.
There were statues here with some text... He stared at it for a few moments, tilting his head. He couldn't read normally so this was just another conundrum for the reaper. Before he could take in too much, he heard Lock suddenly address him.
"Oi. You wouldn't happen to know what the ******** that says do you?"
He didn't know what to do. Not yet. But maybe the statue had some clues.

Lock gave Shun a puzzle look, finding the text entirely readable. He had been expecting another language or strange symbols, but this was plain text. Lock did have incredibly shitty sight, but he'd brought his glasses with him, no need to panic citizens.
"Ah ... Drink the water of four four and then you may enter. If you do not drink, you will perish," Lock said, looking at Shun, somewhat perplexed,but choosing not to question it. "Are your eyes okay?" He looked to the waters. "Not really important right now I suppose."
Well, what else were they supposed to do?

Shun gave a dismissive grunt in response to Lock, just focusing on the words he read out.
"Alright. We need to drink water from four pools then in order to move on."
He had a bad feeling about this. Taking in a deep breath, he wandered on into one of the rooms, seeing the water there. Cautiously, he knelt down and cupped his hands into the water before bringing them up to his lips to take a sip. Immediately, he felt...
Off.
The reaper got up to his feet and staggered somewhat. He felt sluggish. The room seemed really strange. Almost dream-like. His mind fogged and everything was just so very wrong.

Lock nodded in silent agreement, wasting no time find a pool close to him and dunking his head towards the cool water. Immediately a sort of anger arose in him, something twitching and nasty. It was as though Voodoo had finally had her way and taken over his very thoughts.
Then it was gone, or so Lock thought. All that remained was a sort of annoyance, a kind of whispering in his ears. He merely assumed it was the heat of the desert finally getting to him.
He noticed Shun somewhat ambling about- not necessarily stumbling, just moving sort of slowly. "Shun," Lock snapped. "Don't ******** around." He hadn't the slightest idea why he was mad at the other man, but it relaxed him to release his energy in someone's way, almost a strange sort of eagerness overcoming him.

He couldn't even talk right. Shun stumbled into the next room, barely able to keep his thoughts straight. This almost felt like being drunk... without the stupid acting like a complete fool part. Dropping down to his knees, he took in another drink.
Not a whole lot changed. At least nothing particularly obvious. He looked somewhat older.
"Kusssso... th' 'ell is thissshit?"

Lock squinted at Shun, moving him aside to drink from the same pool as him. Something was going on with Shun's water, and Lock was determined to find out what.
As the older reaper had done before him, Lock began to move slowly, sluggishly and without cause. He wasn't the type to take naps often (that wasn't to say he didn't enjoy them, for he did, very much), but he certainly felt the desire to take one more.
He looked to the other reaper and found in his place an older man. The effects of his original drink still in place, Lock said, "Who are you? Where is Shun?" He then turned to the water wherein his hand was still cupped. "Something's not right ..."

"M Shun...Y'Dolt.."
Lock was now moving oddly too. Shun grunted and stumbled on to his next pool of water. That last one didn't seem to do much to him. Perhaps this one would be somewhat of the same. Hopefully. Dropping down to his knees, he scooped some of the liquid up to his mouth. At first, not much seemed to happen. But his pupil soon dialated and his heart began to race. He stumbled back, falling onto his rear as the room around him began to warp and twist.
"Wh--what th'fuuuuck.."
Everything was so very wrong. Breathing a little raggedly, he stared at Lock with a wide eye, as if seeing him as something completely different.

Lock tried taking another drink, more rapidly, his paranoia getting the better of him. It did him no aid, regardless of how many times he swallowed the foul water. In fact, it was making him worse.
"Theeee ppppppppppppillar said. Mmmm the pi- four!"
They were certainly a pair to see.

Lock sort of rolled over to where Shun was, and dunked his hand into the water, splashing it onto himself. Lucky for him, some of the drops made it into his mouth.
Immediately the boy's proportions grew to something more filled in, less lanky and more meat to his bones.
His chin felt remarkably more scratchy and when he gazed into the waters he realized that he had grown. But he was just too sleepy to care. "Beard ..." was all he murmured.

Shun was still breathing heavily as he both staggered and stumbled over to the next pool. Four. Four. Four. Was this really water he was drinking now? The way it warped in his vision was just not right. He could swear his reflection was changing.
He took no time to drink some.
And it made him feel worse. The reaper fell over again, staring up at the ceiling. His heart wasn't racing as much but he just felt awful.

Lock soon drifted to sleep on the ground, rolling over and dunking himself into another pool. That certainly startled him awake, as did the sensation that his limbs were shrinking and his mentality slipped from him.
It was then that he noticed Shun hurdling towards an open door, and he merely chased the other boy down. It was all his consciousness was allowing him at the moment.
Fortunately for Lock, as he exited his proportions grew entirely more correct and distinct. He didn't like being younger or older. His current age was good. Though if he had a choice, older was preferable.

The first thing Milo realized as he entered into the Tower thingamagig was that he had been separated from his company of others. (And just missed some at that... though, then again...) Was he worried? Well, yeah he rather was given that he knew of one in particular that was a rather timid girl but you know, he kind of had to imagine she would be just fine; she had been displaying some real guts while they traveled through the desert. He could expect her, all of them, to be fine. They had a goal, they had been given orders. To get to the top. To save the world or whatever. They'd find each other again and totally save the world - totally a Power Rangers thing.
He just had to .. tackle some tasks or something, seemed... typical, didn't it. Milo deactivated the summon of Koume, allowing her to go into her more simple form as he walked about the area of pools. He was supposed to drink. Alright. He could do this.
