If you roll a 5 you find something that is heavily invested with Fear, and you have to use the given bag to gather it up and bring it back. When a 5 has been rolled 3 times your lime limit is up and you can head back. The quest is considered COMPLETED. Mark the title of the thread as so. - Remember that the quests below are just MECHANICS. It is up to you to breathe life to them, to interact with other players and make things meaningful! He was delivered from having to reply--rising anger already visible on his face--by a passing Hunter who thrust a couple of FEAR scanners at them and barked a few orders, pointing. He settled for shooting her a look while the woman was talking, although by the time they'd been more or less bodily pushed in the right direction whatever it was that had irritated him had already cooled. He turned the scanner over idly in his hands, comparing it distractedly to the one he'd used on the day that he'd nearly gotten Maebe killed. "It would be nice," he observed flatly, "if every single thing did not drag up some memory of a ********."

Tapping her scanner, America made a distracted face and put it close to her ear, as if this would encourage the thing to work especially well. "That's why you shouldn't focus on past ********," the girl explained sagely. "I mean just about everything could be attached to old mistakes. I like to focus on victories. Like this desert place! I ******** kicked a** the last time I was in a desert place, and sure, mistakes were made but the important part is: I kicked a**."
Picking up a bit of skull America sniffed it, made another face, and then tossed it aside.

He watched it go clattering off to the side, and then let his eye continue wandering, over the lip of the crater. He felt, gingerly, around the idea of going to stand on the edge of it, to see if the memory (very sharp, the clearest one from the thirty minute window it had happened in) of looking down and sawing at the noose had invested heights with the same fear that had temporarily (he told himself) accompanied sudden water and now apparently also attended jaunts to the desert.
It didn't. He relaxed, a little, and stooped to gently prod a charred black bit that might have been a bone and might have been a bauble and might have been an oddly-shaped stone. Whatever it was, it failed to excite the scanner.
"I suspect you've made fewer poor life choices than I have, and given how many poor life choices I've seen you make in the short time I've known you, that's ******** saying something."

"Well, you've got what?" America picked up a skull, talking more to it than the skull, "Six years on me? I mean if you want to get competitive about ********, you gotta be fair about it and measure me up to eighteen year old you and not old mister Salty Dog Thompson." She made a kissy face at the skull, but set it aside when the scanner remained quiet.

He fell quiet for a second, picking through a pile of bones.
"At least my stupid ******** eighteen-year-old self only knocked his poor decision up, unlike, you know, the situation with your poor decision. The other one," he added acerbically. "Although we both appear to have taken the lesson away from it, so whatever."

There was a pause, and America turned away to examine a small pile of bones. "Yeah, mine kinda did the opposite, didn't it?" Her tone went odd for a moment before continuing, back once more to her usual cheerful drawl, "See, I might catch up to you, yet! Oh speaking of...why were you asking 'bout his son the other week?"

"Ooooh curiosity, huh?" She finally turned back to him, expression school back to raised eyebrows and causally taunting smile. "Then I guess you don't really need to know what I found out." She began to tap the scanner with much greater aggression than earlier. Smacking it on rocks was likely the next step in her plan to get it to find something of interest.
The thing came to life suddenly, and America crowed shamelessly as she picked up a FEAR infested bit of jewelry.

Taym's FEAR scanner spiked, a deeply appropriate moment for it to do so, and he manhandled the bag away from her rudely to stuff a FEAR-infested trinket into it.

"I'd rather with you than without you." But obviously her mind was made up on the matter. Checking another skull, another dud, and tossed it over her shoulder. The fact that it flew right towards Taym was likely accidental. "Speaking of watching people's backs, did you talk to Edith yet?"

He didn't immediately answer, turning what appeared to be a tooth over in his fingers, examining it more than it needed examining, given the lack of reaction from the scanner.

America gave him a flat look, "Did you give her attitude?" Because obviously personality was the mostly likely item she could think of that might need some work, charming as she herself often found it.
