You are seated at a table for two. Around you, it is dark. There is a single candle on the table, and it seems to have been recently lit. You can hear sounds, the chatter of voices, vague and unimportant, the clink and clatter of cutlery and the distinct smell and taste of food. Not just any food but the most decadent kind, rich and ordinary, exotic and familiar at the same time.
"The menu, please." The voice in front of you belongs to the other occupant at your table for you. He has already folded up his menu and he adjusts his impeccable tie, belonging of course to an impeccable suit with all the trims. He checks a gold pocket watch he has dangling from his breast pocket. "While I normally am a patient person, we have a limited time seating reservation. At your discretion."
He waves one skeletal hand towards the menu in front of you. He has distinct eyes, hollow and sunken, head entirely skeletal except for pieces of the neck that overlapped the suit fabric at odd angles.
"Memories are quite extraordinary." he ushers a waiter over, and they too are just shadows, "And I enjoy the ordinary in extraordinary." He bares his teeth in a smile but the joke is lost on you. "You are a guest here, and with your limited seating time, I would appreciate you enjoy every moment of my memory palette. One piece at a time, one meal at a time. Now, the menu."
One skeletal finger taps your menu. "The hors d'ouvres first, please. Anywhere will do, the main course always follows after." OOC WELCOME TO THE RESTAURANT AT THE END OF THE WORLD:- Everything has been explained ICly above, and now will break open into PRP periods. - How this works: RPs will start off in faction specific segments (see links below). You will then be asked to do QUEST PRPS for your faction. From there they will lead to larger orps (with chances to PRP if you wish) and then the finale piece. - This is primarily a storytelling event meaning I am here to carry a specific story from beginning to end. What YOUR character takes from the story, how they react to other characters, what parts affect them and a small piece of how they effect the story is your own memory and experience and that for your character is priceless. - All players as long as you have an enrolled character are invited. No backstory is needed! - This is for ENROLLED CHARACTERS ONLY. The only exception is for horsemen quests (please see the horsemen link below and read QUEST 3 in the ooc) as this event has a heavy horseman focus! FACTION FRAGMENT PRP MODE (Hors D'ouvres):- Click the link relevant to your faction below. Read the prompt the link provides, and then look at the "QUESTS" below in the OOC. You may write a reaction rp in that orp thread or mingle in the thread with others. Otherwise create PRPS (or solos) as you wish from the quests within the first post of the orps. When a certain number of Quests have been fulfilled for each faction I will unlock "special events" that may happen to characters of that faction, including NPC encounters, bosses, and additional information of what is going on. - You can bring AS MANY CHARACTERS AS YOU CAN HANDLE. You can bring a MAX of 1 quest horseman. You basically get whatever you participated in so if you did 2 rp points worth of rps you get 2 rp points. - There is a bit of a "CYOA" element to this event. It means you get to pick what your character was doing from the "QUESTS" and who they were with, etc etc. From there, just go with the flow and enjoy the story. You are in Death's memory, but he has something important he has to tell you. - AS you know this event has a large focus on redeveloping horsemen, which will happen ambiently. This is a good time for non horsemen characters to get to know horsemen as well as for horsemen characters to explore more about themselves and what happens to them coming up. THE INVESTIGATOR'S STORY: Halloween:"- leaked right into The Halloween times!" He finished, slamming both fists on the table. "I'll have your head. I'll have your head on a pike. I'll have your head on a pike in a museum of public indecency so Jack help me"
She was unruffled. "You're being dramatic. Again." Her eyes slid to the white collars running around like headless foxfires, only less adorable of course. "And to clarify, I'm a private investigator, not a news reporter. All I want to know is why every single reaping agency has quite literally, shut the doors from the rest of Halloween town. I mean you're the biggest agency in all of Halloween and you moved your entire base to the middle of the Human world. So, time for some questions. What will happen. When when it happen. And of course why."
The reaper she was addressing, an officious sort of reaper, crossed his arms. He then pretended to look really busy shuffling the same sheets of paper - all marked with Agency 666 on the logo of the letterhead - around and around. He coughed. He took a sip of his blood and honey flavoured coffee. He shuffled more papers.
"I think," she finally filled the gap, "you're preparing for something big, some Human world catastrophe, a Human against Human war perhaps. Something only you guys were told, thus the hush hush secret thing and oh, the part where nobody from your offices has returned home. Whatever it is, you can't hide it for long. If I don't figure it out, someone else is. And when it does-"
- "We will be waiting." He firmly stood up. "Can someone escort this private investigator out of the building, and fast. Time is money."
She was forcefully dragged out by two security guards, and the last thing she saw before the doors closed on Agency 666 was their CEO and Chairman pacing. THE DICTATOR'S STORY: Deus Ex:"White or red?"
It wasn't a choice and both of them knew that. He waited.
"Well, then I will pick what I have fought for, the hand of Destruction." As she closed her hand over the red stone, she dropped the white. "I honour my promises. One for each. That is the conclusion of our agreement."
He waited.
"There is one more thing," she turned around. "There are few humans who share your sentiments. When the purge begins, not a single human can escape. What exactly are you waiting for?"
Still, no response.
She laughed, already beyond a certain type of madness. She would have just as easily talked to herself as she did someone who didn't speak a single word. "Suit yourself, our agreement is over after all. A favour though, for a Human who betrays their own kind. This legacy is a shield, but you cannot protect what you do not have." She left and left the white legacy behind.
, reassured a voice, but this was someone else. Someone who had waited far longer with him. < A shield has other purposes after all.>
