Orpheus Solon

Continuation from Anbushed?!? and maybe Orphy's Prompt if they want <3

The child had run until his lungs were burning and his legs were sore. He looked back once and then went headlong into water. Sputtering up he stayed hidden, then dashed out. Once he looked around he swore he saw a Merkora, maybe they knew Tallulah. He had to find someone to tell about that thing...and find a way back to his Uncle and Brother...

The child glanced back once more knowing something bad was going down. He worried about the two family members he lost track of, but he had to find an adult.

"I need an adult." he muttered. He was now wet and scared...he sniffled as he wiped at the tears prickling his eyes.

There was a slight shaking of the ground all of a sudden, one that indicated that either something very big was coming Nehelini's way or that a lot of somethings were moving his way. It would soon turn out to be the latter as a group of Khehora, accompanied by one Merkora, seemed to be on the move from their normal stomping grounds toward a place that they fell back to when things seemed to be getting a bit to dangerous for the leader's liking. Said leader, a good sized Gaili female, was walking a few steps in front of the others, giving out orders, telling the older members of the group to stay around the edges of the group, the babies were kept in the middle, and it was a dark colored Diabi Khehora and the brightly colored Merkora that were bringing up the rear, chatting quietly with one another.

If those in the front of the group noticed Nehelini it was hard to tell, they all seemed to be in too much of a hurry to be bothered with something so small after all. It was only one of them that seemed to noticed the little Dovaa, that being Tallulah, who paused at the sight of the little Dovaa standing there all alone... where were the others that he had been traveling with last time they met up? Had he decided to go out on his own? Didn't he know that it was far too dangerous for that sort of thing right now?

"Eyphah! We need to stop for a moment." He said, giving the Diabi a nudge before he went to trot quickly toward where Nehelini was, taking in the rough shape that he was in at the moment, before he shifted from his Merkora form to his more humanoid form, hoping it would be less scary, and he was quick to scoop the little Dovaa up into his arms, "Poor little thing, what are you doing all alone?" He asked as he looked down at the boy, his tail lashing behind him in worried tone of voice. The fact that he was out here, all alone, as well as all scraped up, when those creepy ghostly knights were on the loose! He would have to keep the little one with him until he figured out where the boy's family had gotten off to!

Eyphah rolled his glowing pink eyes before he walked gave a whistle, "Hey! Tallulah! Get moving before the clan leaves without us!" He called over to the Merkora who was quick to hurry over to the Diabi, falling back into step with the Diabi, cradling his precious cargo close to him.

Orpheus Solon

Nehelini had seen the clan moving. The small child squeaked as he took a few shaky steps back. His fear prickling up his spine. He was about to lose it...there were too many. They were too big...they were...scary. The child shook with pure fear memories flashing through his mind. A roar before his brother was knocked back, something with claws grabbed him. His brother threw one of his knives, he was dropped...more roars. He heard his brother scream...no....not that scream.....

Nehelini had covered his head before he heard something come near, his head shot up and he saw...

"TALLULAH!!!" the child's outcry was pure joy. He trusted Tallulah, Tallulah said that he would teach him how to swim...Tallulah helped him. When the Merkora shifted the child blinked in wonderment. Tallulah looked nothing like the ones who hurt hm and Baruin. He let the male sweep him up. The child curled into Tallulah's chest as he answered the question, "I did something silly and wandered away from Uncle."

He looked at the other male with the glowing pink eyes, he sounded like he knew Tallulah. He didn't look like the ones who hurt them either...maybe...he might be trustworthy. He leaned back into the Merkorian. Wincing at his knee and palm as he looked at them...great...

"Wandered away from them? You mean that they are still around?" He asked of him, looking as though he wasn't quite sure about what he thought about that. He was worried about the two of them, how they were doing, and if any of those knights had gone after them as well. He turned to look over at Eyphah who was starring at the pair of them before he said, "He has family out there somewhere, an uncle and a brother, what if those things go after them?" He asked of the Diabi, sounding quite concerned. The both of them had deal with those strange, ghastly beings, and had differing results meaning that it was an unknown what might happen were the other two Dovaa to run across one of the things.

The Diabi gave the Dovaa that Tallulah was holding at the moment, then looked around, "We can't just go rushing off, not when we are supposed to be looking after the clan, Tallulah. We have little whelps with us that we have to protect, to make sure they all get safely to the caves." He reminded the Merkorian. He wasn't about to abandon his clan when they were on the move but at the same time he couldn't help but to feel a bit bad for the whelp that Tallulah had found. It seemed as though he was quite roughed up at the moment, lost and alone, and tiny... it was always the tiny ones that got to Eyphah when they were in such a state.

"Look, maybe, after we get everyone to caves we can head out and see about finding the missing members of his group." He didn't much care about one of the ones mention, that being the uncle. Two-legged adults should be able to take care of themselves after all... but what of the brother? He supposed that they could always see about hunting for them later and hope that the weird elemental stalkers hadn't found them yet. Until then he felt that there were more important things that they should be worrying about, that being the one hundred and one things in Eowyn, not counting those new comers, that presented danger. The trek from where they were to the caves was what they had to worry about.

Tallualh gave a slow nod before he looked down at Nehelini again and gave him a smile, "It will be alright, once we get the clan to where we are going we will head out." He told him, then added, "Also, once we find some water, if you'd like, I can see about healing those wounds of yours." He didn't like how scratched up he was looking, the poor thing! Had he fallen down? He couldn't help but to fret a bit, something that had Eyphah chuckling just a bit to himself, seemingly quite amused by Tallulah at the moment.

Nehelini looked up at the much bigger male, "I don't think so now...Uncle said that we lost time so they had to hurry to the next meeting point. Uncle Rhys isn't at the city anymore though. Uncle said that we were going to meet Uncle Rhys at a Oasis 10miles south of where we were...." the child looked around, "Which would be more helpful if I knew where I was ..."

The child hid himself in Tallulah's chest when the darker male started talking. Nehelini understood all that, his Uncle said that in most large families the little ones came first. The child let out a small whimper, his hand hurt, his knee hurt and now his stomach hurt. He didn't get to eat before that thing showed up. He looked back up at the darker male softly saying, "Thank you."

Nehelini blinked, "I fell but i got right back up!" he leaned away from Tallulah as he started recounting his ordeal, "It was big Tallulah...really big! And it...called me fleshy..." the child made a face, "But...I tried throwing a rock thinking that might scare it off....that didn't work. It brought out this reall big axe looking thing and i ran..." he got quiet, "I had to run...it was bigger and looked ready to eat me..." he shivered, "But it knocked me down a few times...that's why i'm hurt..." his small stomach growled loudly, "and hungry..."

Tallulah gave a rumbling sound in his throat when Nehelini told him that his Uncle said that they had lost time and had to move to the next meeting point. Was the man so worried about this 'Uncle Rhys' person that he wouldn't even look for his missing whelp? That wasn't a thought that he cared for at all. If anything it just made him want to hug the boy that much more. Poor thing, getting left behind in such a manner. He glanced around a moment, then said, "I can't say where you were or which oasis they might be going to. We will do our best to try to find it thought." He reassured the little Dovaa, not wanting for him to worry about that. They would get it figured out!

Of course more worry was added to Tallulah's mind when Nehelini recounted what had happened to him and how he'd gotten hurt, "One of those ghastly things attacked you as well?" He asked, then turned to look over at Eyphah, his eyes going wide, "Then it's not just the Khehora that those things are interested in. They are after the two-legs as well?"

Eyphah didn't look pleased, "Bad enough that they are trying to attack our kind but to think that they would actually go after a little whelp like him. It shows that whatever they are they are a bunch of cowards." He muttered, teeth gritting slightly, "I am going to go and tell mother about this, she will want to know. I will be back shortly. Both of you keep your eyes peeled for any approaching danger." He told them before he rushed forward, his sticking to his Khehora form for the time being, able to move more quickly in it.

Tallulah watched him go before he looked down at Nehelini once more, "It will be alright, you are safe here with the clan." He told him, then gave him a smile, "Hm? Hungry? I will ask Eyphah if he has something safe for you to eat when he gets back." Eyphah was quite the chef but not everyone would want to eat what he concocted in that stew pot of his, most especially a little boy like him. He might have something that was edible though and if he did Tallulah would see about getting some of it for Nehelini. If not then he would find him something, little whelps needed to eat after all.

Nehelini kept looking back and forth between the two adults, his mind comprehending their words yet remaining innocent all the same. He knew three things were certain: One- He was now safe with someone who wasn't letting him go, Two- there was a new person who the child wanted to know, but was scare to know at the same time and Three- He was really hungry right now. Nehelini wouldn't voice the last one as he didn't want to be a bother to the still moving clan, "Tallulah, you and the dark khehora are nice. I'm glad I met you two."

The child was honest, if a little naive to any dark nature lurking beneath the two males he was interacting with.

Tallulah gave the boy a smile, "I am glad to hear that you like him. I know that Eyphah can be... strange. He's difficult to deal with at times, likes fighting too much, but he's a good guy. He helped me out a lot." He said, glancing over in the direction that his fellow had gone in before he looked down at Nehelini once more, giving him a smile, "You try to rest up, once we arrve there will be food and a healing session for you. Everything will be better once we get to the caves." He reassured the little Dovaa. Now that he was with them they would need to tend to him, at lest until they were able to return him home once again.

A short time later Eyphah reappeared, still in his Khehora form, and fell into step alongside them once more, "I let mother know what we learned for you little friend there. It's information that could be useful to us later." He wasn't sure what he thought about the strange beings attacking the two-legs. He felt... annoyed. They should be his prey alone, tasty morsels that he could nibble on from time to time or battle when they got in his way. He didn't like the idea that the stone creatures were going to get in the way and try to mess with 'his' prey in such a manner.

The walk continued on and it was when the sun started to sink low on the horizon when the caves they were heading toward came into view. Tallulah gave a happy sort of trilling sound, "Ahh, finally!" He had started to think that it was going to take all night. Now that they were here though the lot of them would be a bit safer, something that made him feel a lot better. Looking down at Nehelini he gave him a smile, "We are almost there, just a little longer. You doing alright?"

Nehelini was glad that Tallulah was holding him. The male felt safe, even in his new form. The child reached up to gently touch Tallulah's face. He was fasincated and slightly wary that the male was in this new form. Did this form change Tallulah's thinking about him at all? Did this mean that Tallulah would hurt him one day just because Nehelini was smaller and weaker than him? The child had so many questions and so little security in his current situation. But, he wouldn't burden the elder with his insecurity. Tallulah was being nice and as long as Nehelini felt safe...he would squish down those emotions and bad thoughts. The child looked up with a curious expression, "Strange? Elder Eyphah seems like a protector....he reminds me of my Eldest sisters caretaker Uncle Evalos. Thou...Uncle Evalos likes killing a little too much in Uncle Jaxirus' opionion."

The child looked over at Eyphah with a calm face. He tilted his head then smiled innocently, "Elder Eyphah, you look strong!" heck the kid was being honest. Nehelini leaned back into Tallulah's chest with a rub at one eye, he was starting to feel drained. Guess his exctiement ran out and he was ready to nap. He yawned cutely as he blinked slowly.

The child smiled tiredly as they came near the caves. He looked up at Tallulah. Leaning on the male to snuggle close as he mumbled, "Sleepy."

Tallulah couldn't help but to laugh a bit when Nehelini spoke of Eyphah being a 'protector' then explained how he reminded him of a man named Evalos. The way he described the man was a bit spot on, wasn't it? That he liked killing a bit too much. He didn't want to tell the kid that Eyphah was the same way, that he enjoyed his fights as well, but he didn't want to hide it from him either. He seemed to be debating on what to say in response when Eyphah's appearance seemed to distract the boy, saving him from having to say anything. Phew.

Eyphah gave a toothy grin when the kid told him that he looked strong, "I am quite strong." He said, tail swishing from side to side, "As such you don't need to worry about any of those stupid elementals bothering you while I am about. I will tear them to pieces before they get anywhere close to the group." He'd only be too happy to break a few more of them as he'd already done to the first one he'd fought with, "As such you can relax, we are getting close to the caves now and once we are inside everything will be better." He reassured the little two-leg whelp.

The caves were quite welcoming, once inside all of the Khehora from the clan were only too happy to lay down and get some rest, even the babies were exhausted to the point that they were asleep within moments of getting to the caves. Tallulah headed inside the caves, deeper in then the others had gone, to where water could be heard. The walls of the caves had glittering, glowing stones in the walls that cave the area a bit of light and it was here that Tallulah sat down, sitting Nehelini down in front of him, "You rest up and I will see about healing your wounds." He said, his voice soothing before he set to casting a spell, gathering some of the fresh water to him, and used it to engulf Nehelini's wounds.

The water moved and flowed around the little Dovaa, healing the wounds slowly but surely, "It shouldn't take long now." He told him, giving him a smile, turning for a moment when he heard approaching footsteps.

Eyphah, now in his Khehorian form, ame to sit down with them, laying out some food in front of them, "We have some dried meat, fish, and fruit, stuff we keep stored here for when we need to come here." He told Nehelini and Tallulah, "Take what you want." He picked up a piece of the dried meat, tossing it into his mouth, and set to chewing on it slowly, watching as the healing session continued.

Nehelini was sleepy, but food came first. He disliked sleeping on a empty stomach and Eyphah had brought food. The child watched the water swirl with a giggle. That looked fun the child mused to himself as he let the water flow over his hand and knee. He looked back up at the two males, once to Tallulah...then he looked over at Eyphah. Once the healing was done the child looked at the food, "Thank you Elder Eyphah." he reached out to take some fruit and started to nibble on it a little.

He looked thoughtful, "Elder Tallulah...if-if we miss my Uncles at the Oasis. What will we do then? I can't remember where I live in the Forests. Uncle Jaxirus doesn't like towns..." he sniffled as tears welled up in the corners of his eyes. He was hopeless....crying like this.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 22, 2014 5:09 pm

Eyphah starred at the little whelp as he referred to him and Tallulah as 'Elder' something that was rather amusing to him. It wasn't as though he were all that old... but somehow he had a feeling that it might be less cause they were older and more cause they were stronger. He'd like to believe that at least. He didn't much care for the idea of being looked at as old when he was still in his prime, "Just Eyphah is fine, I am not quite that old yet." He finally said, giving the kid a careful pat on the head with one clawed hand.

Turning to look over at Tallulah he said, "Tomorrow, come morning, I am going to go out, make the rounds, and make sure those things didn't follow us here." If they had, well, he'd just have to deal with them. Fighting was in his blood, just as caring for others was in Tallulah's blood. He'd take the offensive straight away, to make sure that nothing dangerous got close to where his clan was seeking refuge.

Tallulah gave a nod of his head before turning back to Nehelini, giving him the best smile he could muster, "Don't worry, we will find them. Eyphah here can fly, unlike me, so he will be able to spot them easier then me." Now if they were on a boat of something then Tallulah would have a better shot but he figured that Eyphah would be able to find the other Dovaa. The question being would he do so? He wasn't much of a fan of the two-legs when they were older save for having them as snacks. As such he would need to talk him into actually searching for Jaxirus without having the end game of wanting to stuff the guy into a stew pot. The fact that he had two little whelps with him would probably be the best way to convince Eyphah though.

"You should focus for now on eating, then we can curl up, get some sleep, and search for your family in the morning after Eyphah's patrol." He suggested, stroking Nehelini's hair in a soothing manner before allowing him to go back to his meal.

.

Nehelini nuzzled the clawed hand of the dark male before nodding. The child sat as he nibbled on the food and listened to the adults talk. Talk about those monsters made him shiver in slight fear. That thing was scary, but....bullies like those needed to get dealt with. He looked back up at Eyphah, "I hope you get a lot of those monsters, Eyphah. Creeps like them need to be dealt with sternly."

He then looked at Tallulah smiling big at the male, sleep sounded good. He finished his small little portion before crawling into Tallulah's lap, "Tallulah....will Eyphah sleep here too?"

If you want to wrap it up with Nehelini going to sleep that would be cool by me. ^_^

Eyphah nodded his head, "I agree, they really do need to be dealt with in accordingly." He murmured, glancing toward the entrance of the cave in a thoughtful manner. He really did need to do another sweep for those things, make sure that they weren't getting too close to where they were unwelcome. After a moment of thinking on that his attention was drawn to the whelp in Tallulah's lap who was asking him if Eyphah was going to be sleeping here as well. The Diabi looked up at Tallulah a moment, then back down at Nehelini, "Perhaps at some point, but for now I am going to go on patrol, make sure the Mara are kept at bay. We don't need them getting too close, we have little ones after all." He said, heading for the entrance of the cave in his Khehora form.

Turning back he looked at the pair and said, "Stay close to the caves, we don't know what the Mara are planning but I am sure it can't be anything good." He gave a nod before turning to leave, pleased that the pair were at least somewhere safe. Tallulah was his after all, a rare Merkora turned Merkorian, one of the one ones he'd ever met, and he meant to keep him safe and all to himself as a part of his horde... well, except for when he was off making other, strange friends like with the tasty, bite sized little two-legs. When they were small and cute like that he really didn't mind them, feeling that they were tolerable enough, it was the big ones that grated on him... as such he'd let Nehelini stay for now.

Tallulah watched Eyphah go before turning back to Nehelini, soothing a hand against his hair gently, and then said, "You try to get some rest, little one. I will keep an eye out for Eyphah's return." He was sure the Diabi would be fine, he was just doing a quick patrol was all. Nothing really to worry about. What he did need to worry about was the little whelp in his lap and making sure that he slept now that he was healed and had a chance to eat and drink something. Once he was sure that Eyphah was alright Tallulah would sleep himself, until then he'd keep watch from here.

Pretty much lol

Nehelini rubbed at his eyes before curling more into the larger male. His small frame slipping into slumber....

"Night...Tallu...lah...." his breathing evened out as he slept.
