Surprise or presents from Mimsy always easily caught her heart, this time, it was a cute little thing that had a pair of wings. She told her that they were called minipets, a living being like her weapon who essence was fear. Z also told her that it was like how human kept pets, they will keep these things as pets or food (=口=;!) Interestingly, this one shared appearance features with the Death Lead, who she had a crazy unexplained liking towards. Despite that, she reallys like his fluffy fur and how small he was. Mimsy said they need to be kept in a special kind of carrier or they will melt, so although Shu wanna give it more freedom, she sadly found it wasn't possible. So she only could apologize once, twice to the little thing and promised that she could take good care of him and won't let him feel alone. However, because of her clumsiness, she fell over on a flat floor without any obstacles. Even more, she was wearing a pair of flat only. The result was obvious, the carrier flew into mid-air and dropped down. In the process, the door was unluckily unlocked and when her face was kissing the ground, her new little pet escaped and flew away with a :T face. When the girl sat up with an empty carrier, she knew it was too late. "H-he is not inside, what should I do, Z?" She cried. She couldn't find Mimsy for this, because she promised her she will take good care of him, but she lost him now, and maybe melt anytime. She stood up, started running around to see if the little thing was around. The fear that she would only found a pool of liquor scared her, her tears slid down from her face even Z tried to cheer her up in an awkward amateur manner.
"Where are you?" She called in a feeble shaking voice while wiped away some of her tears with the oversized sleeves of the hunter coat. She was good at hide-and-seek, but not when her target could fly.
She needed help, on the panic girl's hand, an empty carrier was swinging as she ran.

Maybe it was panic that caused her to collide smack into a stranger, and maybe it was the fact that he had been moving down the hallway with a catlike quiet and distracted. It was a little like running into a bag of twigs and paper clips and wire coat hangers: he was all sharp points and frighteningly skinny, and he smelled like cigarettes and oddly like window cleaner. He also did not look nice, with a shaved head and dark circles under his eyes and eyebrows drown down into a permanent scowl. "Jesus ******** Christ, watch--" he started, before he took in the situation: girl, very small, very distressed. Minipet carrier. Tears, oh god no. He caught her by the sleeve to keep her from barreling off again. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Calm down. You need some help?" Despite not looking nice, he had a nice voice, at least: quiet and thin-sounding, almost boyish.

No, it would melt in the next second. I need to find him back now.The stupid panicked girl, if given a panic & fear rating, it would be at the alarm level already. It was her second time to take care a pet, and the first one was a unsuccessful experience. Moreover, it was from Mimsy, someone she liked so much, she didn't want to see the disappointed expression on her face. Who knows how much efforts she spent to get one like that, just for her? She felt really really bad, and may have illusions of hearing what her dad said when her bunny died. It was her fault. The view flashed by quickly as she rushed in high speed and not looking what was in front of her. She hit someone and rebounded, caught by the sleeve, but the fear candies in her hands were all over the floor. Still looking at the ground to pick up the candies, she didn't know who she bumped into. "I-I am sorry, but I am in a hurry....." The apologize was more like a sob as she wiped away more tears. The calm voice of the hunter made the girl stop struggling to get away. Yes, she needed help. Shu raised her messy face with tears, it was not the proper time to care about her appearance. "Sorry Mr." Trying hard to stay calm, she made a bow and paused. "Yes.......my pet is missing, it may already -MELT!" She burst into tears when she finished, hand grabbed tightly on the handle of the carrier. Mimsy mentioned to her that there was a duration of time limit before the minipet started to melt when out of the carrier.

He thought with a pang of Quint and Jessel, who had not been out of the carrier for more than a few minutes since he'd gotten back from the Sahara. He took her other arm and bent to fix her with a serious expression. "OK. Calm down, calm down. How long's it been out of the cage? Take a really deep breath," he added sternly, "before you answer. Chill out. Panicking isn't going to help you find it."

Someone was helping made the girl felt less helpless, she took some deep breathes, wiping her tears, and the cry turned into a small whimper still with occasional sniffles. "A-About 1-15 min-minutes?...W-Will it melt already?!" Shu wasn't really sure since she panicked. She grabbed onto his arm. "I tried to find him, but I can't!" There was a sign that she was gonna shed a tear. The carrier rattled under her strong unconscious grab with quiver. "Please help me."

He relaxed a little, letting go of her sleeve and stooping to pick up the last fallen candy for her, handing it over. "Good girl. You've got an hour, sweetheart," he reassured her, "so we've still got plenty of time and it can't have gone far even if they're sneaky little bastards sometimes. Does it know to come when it's called? Do you want to try sending something out over Twitter?" This last, because of course he didn't know that Shu was trying to avoid upsetting Mimsy with news of the incident. "Look. I'll help. Let's hash out a plan first before we go running off in a panic." If this had been almost anyone else he'd be snappy and irritated but somehow Shu had the magic power of entirely dispelling his frustration.

She was much relieved when she heard that she still had an hour to get him back into the carrier. "R-Really?" She said a thank you for the candy he handed her and put into her coat pockets with the others. She blinked and looked at the hunter, the face seemed familiar. "I-I don't have a name for him yet....I just got him, he's a gift..." She thought of Mimsy again, sniffling, felt so bad that she might ruin her effort. The girl shook her head greatly at his question. She didn't want to inform her about that, it was very scaring to think of what her reaction would be, sad, disappointed, judging or a bitter smile. She might think she is stupid and useless as her dad thought. "N-Nope. I don't want to bother them...." Her head was lowered a little. "A plan?" She tilted her head, looking at Taym, stupid girl never think of a plan before she does something.

"A plan," he repeated. "We'll start at one end of the building and go straight through to the other and if we meet anyone we'll ask if they've seen a stray minipet. People keep an eye out for that," he added, although he didn't sound like he believed himself when he said it. "And we'll find it. And then when we do maybe I can teach you some s**t to help you keep tabs on it easier, OK? My name is Obadiah Thompson," he added, sticking out a skinny hand for her to shake and then realizing suddenly: "And you're... Dong Shu Lei?" He pronounced it extraordinarily badly. "Thank you for--for that message you sent me. It... helped me a lot," he finished reassuringly, his face twisting in an expression close to pain at the memory of reading it for the first time, "so I'll help you and we'll call it even. OK?" He said "OK?" a lot, like he was speaking to a child; he was conveying equal parts thug and concerned elementary school teacher.

The petite Death trainee nodded as she listened at the plan, that was a plan that only smart people like Mimsy would think of, she looked at the hunter with a tiny sparkles hidden in her eyes. A plan sounds like a plan. "You are so clever!" The girl would only run here and there, randomly went to places and searched in panic, she never think she could ask people. Maybe for Shu, everyone is clever except herself. Since she was still worried about her pet, she could only forced a weak smile, but there was the first smile after he was missing. A teacher was always welcomed, she loves to learn new things, she is curious of everything. "So-Mr. Thompson?" She tried to pronounce it correctly and without hesitation, grabbed his head with her two and shook gently, the carrier was temporarily put down on the ground. "Yes, Mr. I am Dǒng-Shū-Lěi." She tried to say it slowly, one word after another. "I am an Asian, so please don't mind the pronunciation, you can-just call me Shu, which is similar to that of shoe will do." She blushed a bit at the thank you, "Y-You are welcome, I'm glad that you're safe. W-we were sent to a desert and something bad happened...so-it reminded me of you." She came to the conclusion that both of them didn't want to talk about it, after noticing the change of his expression. She nodded, a few times sincerely, agreed with his suggestion. She knew some people didn't like to owe others, she really needed help and if it would make him feel better, why not? "Oh!" She suddenly yelled. "I haven't tell you how he look like yet...um......" Shu put a finger on her lips, recalling the image of her newly obtained pet. "He-He's small and has a pair of wings. There are some yellow tinted on his ears and a large proportion of his wings, toward the tip direction. He is wearing glasses and holding a notebook-um.....the fur on his head is black but his body is white. Ah! He has beautiful blue eyes also." She didn't take a photo yet, even if she did, the image might be blurred. Meanwhile the said minipet was floating at a high place somewhere, looking down and judging the passer-by. If any hunter dare to stare back, it will give a "Mind your own business, rubbish." face.

Glasses and a tiny notebook. Minipets. Who knows? He seemed oddly dismayed by her assessment of him as clever. A clever plan would have been to put them at opposite ends of the building and have them scour systematically to meet in the middle, but he'd taken one look at her frantic sobbing and decided that in Shu's case perhaps allowances should be made to avoid panic or, god forbid, further tears. It would probably be better if she was not alone, so plan B it was. (In truth he was also inclined to think that tracking down a stray minipet was hardly a situation that required a formal plan at all, but hysterics definitely were. In most other people he would have been irritated. Shu, somehow, managed to break his defenses, possibly by being very small and calling him "Mr. Thompson.") His handshake was a lot stronger than his looks would give him credit for, and he tensed strangely when she wrapped both hands around his but otherwise didn't react, instead indicating the carrier and heading off in the same direction she'd been running. "OK, Shu--let's start at the other end, if he was heading this way, and maybe we'll pass him on the way. Wings means he can fly? You look low, I'll look high. You calmed the ******** down now?" he added, because Taym is so tsundere. "Don't go crazy and run at him suddenly if we find him, either--if he darted out maybe he's easily spooked or something."

Taym had made the right choice over plans, the stupid girl, when panicked, was only more stupid. Even with Z's guiding, she won't be able to search thoroughly by herself. She might lose him by missing just one glance. He was also correct over the companion statement. Shu was a girl that afriad of being alone, that's why she talked a lot, made friends with others and clung to the one who she liked. Their existences helped to calm her down and gave her the support she needed, the girl was grateful for Taym 's help and companion. Thus, the clever comment she made didn't seem to be completely faulty. Shu didn't know the man's nature, she just thought he was as nice as the others she met, Jordan sensei, Roland sensei (?), Gale and Dylon, etc. She didn't hate being so petite and short, it was inconvenient, but people seemed to like her better, calling that "cute". The girl didn't intentionally take advantage of her appearance to make someone to do something for her, but she surely wanted to be liked, not scared or hated. She picked up the carrier and followed, tried her best to keep up with him. When he made one step, she had to make two, you can imagine a leisurely walking duck with a duckling closely chased behind. She nodded to tell he can fly, but eyes widened a bit at the swearing, didn't say anything but gave him another nod. "Yes Mr, I calm down now, thank you." Her face was a little redder than before, thinking how troublesome she was. "I-I will look low and I promise I won't give him a sudden glomp when we see him." She was a good student and she will listen to instructions. Time continued to pass, but the minipet at high didn't bored with his judging time. Sometimes, he will frown and shot a cold glare at the back of some hunters and cause them quiver without knowing the reason. Was he waiting for someone? Was he just doing the routine of supervision and observation? No one knows, the passer-by just fled or trotted from him, head might be a little lowered out of habit. Maybe their collective complaint would be: WHO ******** LET IT OUT?!

They cleared a hallway in reassuring silence, and then were halfway through another before Taym finally spoke up again. It seemed very much as though he'd been mulling over this question the entire time. "What does 'glomp' mean? I mean, I have the context but I'm still..."

The search was quit smooth, when there was someone to assist the so-called rescue. Maybe just the girl, the minipet didn't bother with it at all. There was no sign of her pet and some distractions were good at that time. For his question, it made Shu wonder if she had used the wrong vocabulary that he couldn't understand. As a non Native English speaker, she knew that her level was not up to standard. Thus, she frowned and thought, find it hard to explain in another language. She looked at the taller hunter and showed him what a "glomp" was. It requires jumping and reaching, but she finished the action as if she was a cat. Luckily, her weak force didn't push him down, but she was more like hanging on him. That's the demerit of being short. "Like this." She looked at Taym, thinking he was so skinny and should eat more. On the other hand, the minipet not yet found was still floating and judging the passer-by, deadly cold gazes shot down like arrows. Well, if they are arrows, there should be many corpses lying on the floor, like a battlefield. What the passer-by was thinking? The answer was: WHAT IS ITS ******** OWNER DOING?!!!!

She would probably notice the abrupt and complete tension that coursed through him as soon as she touched him, let alone as she practically hung off his bony shoulders. He was rigid as a board, and he closed his eyes and attempted to robotically detach her hands from him. "Please," he said, with the sort of intense calm that suggested that he was not calm at all, under the surface, "do not do that again. I appreciate the thorough demonstration and I now fully comprehend the concept of a glomp and appreciate that you are not planning on doing this to your minipet, but please: do not do that again, sweetheart." He loosed her and slunk a step away, cringing. Offering an outstretched treat and a pat to an abused dog might have gotten the same reaction: too reluctant to outright flee, too terrified to submit. He allowed himself a single shiver, like he'd been abruptly caught in a cold breath of air, and he shook out his hands distractedly like he'd burned them. "It's OK," he added grimly, lest she burst into tears again at having offended him. Having to say it grated, a concrete reminder of the fact that he'd reacted so embarrassingly in the first place. "No harm done. Keep looking."

As if she had used her witchcraft to cast a spell on the hunter, she found him frozen shortly. The demonstration was over, she had no reason to hang on him. With her hand released, she reached the floor again. It was rare to see people who didn't like hugs or even scared of being hugged, so she was curious, but she promised him with a nod, eyes blinking. "I won't do it again." Shu wondered if she did something wrong in the process, she didn't have the melons that would embarrass the men, she was a washboard. And then, she was thinking of Mimsy and Robert, who seemed to like her hugs without problem. Was it different from person to person? It was hard to understand, she tilted her head left and right, and left and right. If he didn't like hug, then she would respect him. The girl didn't plan to cry, but she was quite worried about Taym who turned to have his back facing her. His reaction was weird but he was shaking. When she was about to pat him and asked if he was okay, she got his assurance. Shu blinked a few times to check his condition, before she gave him a nod. "Okay..." How much longer did she have? She didn't have a watch. "Excuse me Mr, how long do we still have?" The girl gingerly asked, hoping none of her action will scare him. No one knows where the owner of the horrifying minipet was or what their intention to do so. The only thing the passer-by hoped was someone came to pick it up so that they don't have to shiver every time they need to pass the hallway. The appearance of the minipet alerted all the hunters, maybe recalling nightmares or awful experiences that they didn't want to memorize. The judging eyes of it made the hunters left an empty passage, a distance from the wall, they seemed to feel a mass of cold air when they got too close. It was just getting worse as the minipet became more impatient, too many eyesores. Rejam You can decide when they can find the minipet biggrin
