Positive Traits:
*Reliable & Dedicated- Through thick or thin, Kai is known for the loyalty and dedication he has shown to his friends and family. Once his mind is made up to stay by someone’s side, he will not waver from that decision unless that person does something to lose his respect.
*Sweet Tooth- Kai has the biggest sweet tooth. He absolutely adores treats and candies and can easily be bribed to do something for a handful of treats.
*Adventurous- The son of a baker, Kai’s childhood was relatively boring. Whenever he is out with friends or even by himself, he likes to explore parts of the city he has never been to before.
*Confident: He was always taught never to shy away from a new challenge. Kai is confident and will face something head on.
*Lover of military tech and weaponry– After witnessing a demonstration by the military, Kai has always been fascinated by the 3D Maneuver Gear they use. He spent the better part of his days trying to find any and all text he could on the workings of military technology. He has a thirst for knowledge and is excited to learn even more if given the chance.
Negative Traits:
*Blunt/ Opinionated- Never one to keep his opinions or thoughts to himself, Kai will not hesitate to tell someone what he thinks; ignoring whether it would hurt someone’s feelings or not. For most of his childhood, he kept his doubts about his step-father to himself and after the man almost ruined the family’s comfortable lives with his drinking, Kai swore he’d never keep his mouth shut. His manner often comes off as blunt whenever he gives his opinion.
*Childish– Most of the time, he rarely acts his age and tries to find humor in all situations which isn’t always the best thing. When he is needed to take things seriously, there’s a chance he won’t. He can be seen as immature and his childish tricks and pranks have landed him in quite a bit of trouble growing up.
Self-Image: He is a confident individual but there are chinks in his armor. Kai tends to worry about what others think of him. If someone were to not like him, he’d act as if it didn’t bother him but, in actuality, he’d wonder what was wrong and why.
History:
Sara Whitmore was always a timid, well-mannered and well-liked young woman. She mostly kept to herself and her family. Life for her was simple and easy in the Trost District. She inherited the family’s bakery after her parents retired and was making a pretty good money for herself. And then, one day, her life was turned upside down by a dashing young man who entered her life like a whirlwind and left just as suddenly. The only thing he left the poor girl was a name and a child she soon discovered she was carrying.
Kai has always been the center of his mother’s world and for many years, it was just the two of them. She supported his interests in reading (though she didn’t know the subjects he liked to research) and even allowed him to own his own rifle to go hunting with friends. They were close and Kai was spoiled rotten by her. With no male figure to rein him in, he ran wild in the streets with his friends and managed to land himself in loads of trouble and a few fights. But his mother failed to see his faults and always had a handful of excuses ready to bail him out. He could do no wrong in her eyes.
Their close bond was eventually strained by the man she eventually agreed to marry. On the outside, his step-father was a well-liked man by everyone but in reality, he was a drunkard and Kai spent his early teens making sure no one knew the secret of his step-father’s drinking. How others perceive him has always been an issue he’s struggled with. His step-father is one of the reasons Kai refuses to drink and has a dislike for anyone who does.
While his mother has dreams of him eventually getting a government position and raising the family to nobility, Kai has always had his eye on joining the military police or even researching better weapons for the military to use.
