madelynheston What kind of experiences have you had with entities of all kinds? At one point my little coven of 4 witches some how had the dubious luck to attract some sort of flying mischief maker. Never got a good look at him/ her or it but pixie or fairy could be an appropriate race. We named him /her or it Loki pulled our hair, knocked over stuff, pinched us, rearranged our drying herbs one night... nothing really harmful just frustrating and kinda funny. This went on for little over a year. We were young witches at that point and quiet frankly we were amused more then anything. Never did figure out what we did to get loki's attention in the first place or why loki went away.

Yes its possible but you have to be in the right frame of mind and allot of people get the wrong idea about what its like. And the experience is so varied depending on whether you are evoking, invoking and what kind of entities it is.

And the experience is so varied depending on whether you are evoking, invoking and what kind of entities it is. Yes I have heard that D: I don't want to make something bad lol. What is the difference between evoking and invoking? Oh I knew someone would ask that by the time I got back. In short invoking is calling something into you while evoking is calling something to the area around you. However if you've heard of the invoking pentagrams which brings things into the circle... they invoke into the circle even if it isn't seen as an invoking into you. so if you charged a seal or charm your invoking that energy into the object as you consecrate it even though it's not often referred to as an invoking because when people see that they generally mean something you are calling into you. Here the thread I've got prepared with that... I have all the complex stuff down but not the simple definitions... go figure: To do: compare Possesion and Obessesion to Hypnosis and Mesmerism respectively. With invocation - mind-meld, conversing directly with nature evoking something is to invoke a new paradigm in which you find yourself. taking on the agencies of an entity, means of doing vs asking an entity to do. Invocation vs Evocation Invocation: Evocation: This is relative to the point/object in question. If you bring an entity into an object it is: 1. An Evocation as it is outside of you (as defined) 2. An Invocation into the object in question. Thankfully, This set of conditions is normally refered to as a consecration, or in specifcation, a doctoring. A consecration may often refer to a higher, non-distinguished power but this is relative, with that distinction of meaning applied from normative mainstream use. A consecration in relation to the expansive waking of self is often referred to as an annointing. The intimacy of the sharing thereof is called Communion. An Evocation is actually calling from you, projection from the self-causation, in the more complicated formulas. The invoking pentagrams are called so because you are bringing something inside to your sphere of operation even though the forces called there-through are considered the forces evoked. Consider the fact that the circle is centered, focused and casts by the fire of the Altar candle or bon-fire- The inner spirit and will of the practitioner, coven or lodge in question. Eventually you come to realize it's the same process, different directions of the same circuit. You don't have to completely worry about that right now but keep it as a note to come back to. For example though, an evocation whereby you are wanting a daemon to manifest in some way on this plane is, an invocation to Malkuth from Yesod. It all depends on how there sphere of influence is labeled and where you are in relation to it. We can observe this looking at the concentric spheres model of the cosmos, with a sphere within Malkuth representing the operative sphere of the practitioner wherein the innerside of is the internalized self. While, it is valid to invoke a daemon in ones external sphere of observation is is not at all wise to invoke a daemon in ones individual notion of self, hence the phrase "you never invoke a daemon". Daemons, representing entropy, breakdown and fertility have a decomposing affect to the structure and therefore boundaries, of the psyche, leading to possible psychosis if they are invoke to the concious, waking notion of self which is integrative (See Chaos Pent Ritual). Angelic forces on the other hand, counter and imply boundaries of operation. Entities with wiil mediate between them and gods have full range of mediation in respect to their defined domain. It is interesting to note then that beings of boundaries are often invoked while invocation removes barries communication while beings of breakdown are called in terms of boundary. There is much wisdom here to be considered. Lastly, while Daemons are called with a sense of seperation strongly in place as to discipline them without harm or sanction to the practitioner, to limit them is to limit the agencies of the self as they are those subordinate agencies. It is sadly all to common for the dabbler to think if they torture a deamon they can get what they want. It is too late then, their logic decaying, when they are unable to realize that they have tortured themselves. They have crippled their hold on reality and induced much truama to the subconcious which, in tandem with concious observation creates ones reality. Thus their life reamins in ruins, until some outside force manipulates the concourse of forces as to give the disturbed a moment of lucidy. The recovery must, however, be on ones own. note: The treatment of Daemons is something the Catholic Church handles very poorly, and in some ways, fairly often. Daemons are dealt with by means of torture, and the opression and repression of psychological issues and natural inclinations leads to their "acting out" in the first place. Thus their methods are rarely affective long term and when they are their are always severe consequences. It is no wonder they talk often of the struggle between good and evil, though in truth it is a false dichotomy with the so called devils also claiming, and more validly so, that they are the victums. One needs look no further than the Catholic Church to see the dangers of dabbling, even with "the light" or right-hand path. I point this out in the pointing out of a danger; and in counter must point out that there are rogue Catholics and even clergy recognized by the Vatican whom are far wiser than what their religious community is ready for. This is not a phenomena exclusive to daemons. Man is far more deceptive he can apply the illusion of boundaries. coherence of said boundaries and therefore the illusion of dicipline. Thus great reservations need to be made with invocation, for it is the blending of psyches and there is transference of state and pathology. Exorcism is really just evocation with draino Possession, as it is generally described is invocation without consent. Obsession is just stalkerish.

madelynheston llynnyia madelynheston What kind of experiences have you had with entities of all kinds? At one point my little coven of 4 witches some how had the dubious luck to attract some sort of flying mischief maker. Never got a good look at him/ her or it but pixie or fairy could be an appropriate race. We named him /her or it Loki pulled our hair, knocked over stuff, pinched us, rearranged our drying herbs one night... nothing really harmful just frustrating and kinda funny. This went on for little over a year. We were young witches at that point and quiet frankly we were amused more then anything. Never did figure out what we did to get loki's attention in the first place or why loki went away. Thats really cool! I think there may have been some kind of something in our aunt's house before we moved in after she passed because through the first month we settled in, a hammer fell into the middle of a room when it was towards the far left on a shelf, a knife came out of a watermelon but not maliciously, and a picture of my cats fell and the glass broke when it was seriously a good inch from the edge. I tried recreating all of these and I just came up blank! Lol. Thats such a fitting name lol! Awwwh. Were you all sad at all when he left? One of our coven did, she had gotten quite attached to Loki and Loki to her it seemed, sometime I caught her talking to it but she said it never verbally responded. Knowing what I do now , I can look back and make a hypothesis where we picked him up. we likely did not get some ward or circle magic right, creating an interesting blip vs the flow normally there. Now to do it without giving locations away...lol since I know the bigger coven here still uses that spot. okay I got it... On the bank of one of the 20+ steams in my area there is a semi circle of old oaks. black oak and white oak the roots stretch out into the steam to intertwine with tall river smoothed rocks, making a natural and complete circle perfect as an in between. (should be okay discription without directions.) It is a very beautiful spot. The small coven was drawn to that spot and it happens to be where we were introduced by chance to the large coven. The large coven use it as an initiation 'womb' and a place to work some inner circle magics.

Larger covens can be with proper leadership and a culture of acceptance but like anytime you bring large groups of people together you have drama. But I miss the little coven the most I felt like I was making more headway in my studies because we all learned together instead of fighting all the time. Not that I didn't learn from the big coven and learn a lot just the experience of learning was really different and often interrupted.
