Life Story Growing up behind the veil, Nicolo had never set foot in the human world until his time in college. He grew up in a rural area surrounding the capital city, where his family had relocated after being chased out of their native Scotland by a group of especially superstitious locals. He lived in a large house with his parents, grandmother, aunt, and an assortment of his own siblings. As the eldest, he was often left in charge of caring for the younger brood, though the workload grew easier as the other children aged and became capable of assisting. He often found it odd how systematically his family worked, especially when trading stories with friends from school. At sixteen, he grew ever more tired of the boring, organized manner his life moved in and ran away from home. While he was eventually found by his father, he refused to return home, and slipped out from behind the veil to attend human college at seventeen, lying about his age along the way. Being a clever child, he conned his way onto the President's List his last few semesters and graduated with honors.
However, living in the human world had been a bit of a hassle, since he had to hide his abilities. While he refused to give up his new found freedom, and not wanting to suffer through hiding his abilities for the rest of his life, he settled for the happy medium of the small town of Janhall. It was a pleasant mix of the safety promised by the veil, and the relative freedom of the human world; as a bonus, he was far out of reach from his powerful family. Going to work as a paralegal at the local law office, he's had to deal with his fair share of interactions between the human hunters and the ever targeted supernaturals, and has maintained his stance as a sort of middle ground, not wanting to endanger his credibility.
