Friend: Looks complicated what can it do for us?
Jesi: It's function is three-fold.
a) It is a map.
b) It is a starship
c) It is the charm of making - it creates entire universes.
You ask what it can do for us; it is us.
It also turns lead into gold.
Friend: How do you use it Jesse?
Jesi: You see that middle circle? That is you. It is also Adonai, the in-dwelling God within and Lord of this Earth.
Each circle thereafter represents, in succession a plane of existence higher than our physical world. The Magician stands at the center; and through his or her rites, through meditation and mediated volition expands his or her awareness so that it moves from this center reference outward to envelope and align with the proper circle - that is, sphere, of awareness. Though you must first find Adonai; that indwelling point inside of you where all things reside.
Moving from the center point we come to the first circle which is the sphere of Luna. This circle runs through four circles, one for each of the Trees being built up in the Magician from the center. These stations within the Lunar sphere are call the Yesod's. Each of the four corresponds to one of the quarters called in the circle cast by the magician in his rituals. In this scenario, When he or she calls the four points of the Lunar Sphere they are creating a vessel for that awareness or energy. You either use the pentagrams to call spirits and forces to where you are or use they hexagrams to take your spirit to the state where they are. The formula of the elemental sequence is different between the two. This depiction is meant to be used with the hexagrams which uses the astrological sequence. Therefore Fire is the Eastern Tree; Earth is the Southern Tree; Air is the Western Tree and Water is the Northern Tree.
Each Tree and it's associated element corresponds to one of the four bodies- Physical, Vital-Astral, Mental and Causal bodies as they are often known. More esoterically they are known as the Saturnian, Lunar, Mercurial and Solar bodies. Spirit is the union of each of the four. Just as the elements come together in spirit so do the four stations bring life to the associated plane- which is the spirit, pantheism and god-force - represented here as the larger circles which pass though each tree.
The Lunar Sphere is associated with dreams, coming into contact with the astral body and the underlying subtle forces that guide the tides and causation of the Earth Sphere. The Lunar Sphere has a bit of every sphere that will come after, though not in such a pure concentration. It contains the elixir whereby all possibilities of the Earth Sphere are possible, though not as solid in being a constant reality.
The Spheres themselves have names that differentiate them from their station-point on the Tree. They have fallen out of usefor the most point and the God names- either of the nature of, or the personification of each are used. The spheres and their personified God names are as follows. (Names are the Olympian Spirits [sans Adonai] and not the standard God-names-of-operation)
The Earth Sphere - Adonai (not always personified)
The Lunar Sphere - Phul
The Mercurial Sphere - Ophiel
The Venusian Sphere - Hagith
The Solar Sphere - Och
The Martian Sphere - Phaleg
The Jupiter Sphere - Bethor
The Saturnian Sphere - Arathron
These names are known collectively as the Olympian Spirits and the spheres themselves as the planetary spheres. Above these are listed still higher beings - starting with YHVH which comes after Saturn. YHVH can also be associated elsewhere but is presented here as it's function as the base of the supernal triad. The Triangle being the first construct. The first shpe having oscillation, dynamic equilibrium and exaltation as well as integration. It is the symbol of the First Mover or Primum Mobile.
YHVH - Tetragramaton - Base of Triangle
Aba and Ama Elohim - Anaphaxeton - Sides of Triangle
Ehieh - Primeuton - Top point and whole Triangle
Dryghten - Whole Triangle and Transcendence there-of.
Also the Sephiroth/Spheres/Stations of the Trees have inscribed on them the name of various spirits. The Seven planetary power of each world- the 6 seniors and their King comprise the names of the aforementioned planetary Spheres. these names are derived from the four Enochian tablets. These names are the specific watchers to be called for the quarters of the associated circle. The trees themselves are the Watchtowers. The names attributed to the supernal triangle of each tree are Cherokee - with half the name in English for good measure. The Western Mystery Tradition names of the stations attributed to the Ehieh and Dryghten Spheres can be derived from the Sigillum Dei Ameth but are not presented here. These names function for the whole supernal triad for their corresponding tree. Whereas in the Cherokee there are 12 names here presented- there are only four in the WMT.
So as I said; it is a map, a spiritual map.
It is a starship- it takes you to many experiences of being among extraterrestrial allegory.
It is the charm of making- it is logoic and through using the appropriate correspondences you can create a sphere of being to explore.
It is you, It shows where you are, what you must internalize within to build yourself up and ultimately helps you find yourself. your actual nature and will. It also helps you balance what you do internalize.
It turns Lead into Gold - It takes the every-day mundane you going through the motions and turns you into a vessel aligned to and in disciplined control of your spiritual dynamo. Gold is symbolic of the Sun- the Solar or Causal Body.
