Toki was out with his Arrical cub and Fea dragons again. Wandering near the foot hills of the Terra Expanse on Eowyn, he was attempting to teach them to hunt. Causing much amusement for himself as his cub, who he needed to name he reminded himself, kept stumbling over it's too large paws and missing.
"No no, like this." Toki said and crouched down in a position before leaping at the fleeing rodent to catch it between clawed hands.
"Now you try." He said encouragingly as he let the rodent flee once more.

Little Hatchet stumbled after his Uncle, "Uncle Jaxrius! How much farther till we get there?"
The tall male Dovaa looked back with a chuckle. On one arm was Hatchet's recently blind eldest sibling, Baruin. The male's Oderite lover, Rhyven was waiting for the trio at their destination. Baruin moved his head a soft growl as he still had issues with not seeing his youngest sibling; "Nehelini. Don't complain."
Hatchet pouted, "I'm not...I was asking because the map didn't make it look nearly as long as this is turning out to be."
Baruin made to speak again but Jaxrius knew a sibling spat when he heard one; "We're nearly there. Stay close Nehelini, Khehora do roam these lands." The child squeaked before rushing towards his Uncle's side. Looking around worriedly.

SwordOfTheDarkOnes If any are Peisio or Kiandri clan, they can feel his magic sweep by them. Other's can't. Toki grinned as he heard the Arrical actually land near it... though the rodent still managed to scurry away. Right into Kashi's hungry maw! The cub whined and pawed at Toki's leg. "Quite right, small one. She should have let you eat it." He said with a smile before his ears caught the sound of somethings approaching. He moved the cub under him as he sent out his static field to sense what was coming. His fea's landed near him, curious as to what their 'Da' sensed. "Three dovaa." He murmured. And one was leaning on the other. Curious. Standing up he scooped the cub onto his back and sauntered off to meet them. Perhaps this meeting will go better than the last few.. surely all dovaa can't be that stupid, weak or arrogant as those two boys!

robot kitten two ice and one earth. XD sorry... Jaxrius looked up seeing a figure approach. Hatchet watched the figure moving to stand before his eldest sibling as he saw wings. Their Uncle called out in greeting, "Greetings, be you friend or foe? My nephews and I are traveling to do Trade in Tukyere."Hatchet didn't shiver, he wouldn't show fear...but it was really hard as the figure got closer. The child didn't move from his spot, "What is it Uncle?" he asked. Jaxrius tapped the child on his head, "Proper grammar Nehelini, its: Who...not What..." The child nodded to confirm his Uncle's correction. Baruin remained silent as he attempted to get a feel of things from sound alone. Something the male had to perfect.

SwordOfTheDarkOnes Well, technically Hatchet is no clan right now. Unless you've written up his clan choosing solo. Toki sauntered to a stop near by. Sniffing the air he could tell it was three dovaas, one too young for a clan, with a Gaili and Aiskalan for the others. Interesting combo that, he thought. . Varying ages and related from what the kid called the oldest one. "I am friendly for now." He rumbled in amusement. "As for what.. Apparently young dovaa's have no clue about Khehora's; you are not the first child to ask that boy. But your uncle is correct.The polite thing is to ask for the name. Plus it reveals ignorance if you do not know what someone is. I am Toki, Shaman of my clan. You are?Did the Dovaa not have pictures or stories or anything about Khehora? Was that why all the young dovaa he'd met so far had little to no clue what he was? At least this one isn't referring to me as dragon like that one brat. They obviously needed better teacher.s

robot kitten not yet. off to bed after this post...night~! Khehora. Oh no...Nehelini didn't squeak. He didn't outwardly show fear. But his little heart started to jackhammer as he stepped in front of his elder brother. The child felt the elder's hand fall on his shoulder as Baruin drew him closer. Jaxrius moved forward, his shoulder hiding the two brothers to some degree. "My apologies, Shaman Toki. My nephews were raised in the Planes. Upon their arrival they were attacked by a band of Khehora. The motives were unclear to me as to why. But I got both to safety. Sadly, Baruin's eyes were damaged as for Nehelini...the effects of the attack have not yet been made clear to me." the male explained. He looked back to the elder, "We are going to meet my partner to seek out a healer's advice."Nehelini wasn't going to show fear, but he was going to stick to his Uncle's side. He fell quiet.

Ah, so they had been attacked by his people. Toki shook his head. He understood why it happened, but if Rhaze and his band of blood thirsty raiders didn't stop, there'd be no chance of them having a peaceful relation with the Magescian. Sighing he settled onto the sand. "It is regrettable that happened. You were probably in an area where my People's nests have been raided and you got hit with a retaliation strike." He could smell the sticky scent that fear smelled like. The children were definitely not liking his presence. Toki did understand that.. as he also understood what the boy who'd lost his sight was probably feeling. "Hmm... if the eyes were burned.. there is a chance that a peisio healer can heal your son's sight. My eyes were taken from me by a spear and far from any healers so I never had the chance. But..." But perhaps he could spare this boy the feelings he had gone through... And if not, than he could give advice. He stood up and resettled the cub between his wings: it wanted to go and explore and play with the new creatures! His two Fea fluttered over head. "Come. I will lead you to a healer I know of. She helped me after my eyes were lost. Maybe she can be of greater help to you." Time was important, the longer the eyes were wounded, the less of a chance they could be healed. So he would lead them now and they could meet up with the other person later.

Jaxirus didn't miss the subtle pull that drew Nehelini closer towards his elder brother, the male Dovaa sighed. "As much as I truly do appreciate the offer of aid. I am sorry I have to decline. My partner is not one to be kept waiting." The male wouldn't say anything further as he went to usher the boys around the Khehora. Baruin kept Nehelini close, the child watched the large male as they moved around him. Nehelini's small voice echoed in the silence his elders created, "Sorry..."Jaxirus smiled to himself as he made to keep walking past Toki, "Maybe another encouter will produce the results you seek, Shaman. As of this moment, the mistrust my nephews have is far too great for me to ignore."

Toki sighed and shook his head. "I have lived for over a century and a half blind. It is no easy task. I had an entire clan to care for me when I returned home. You are in the desert which is not kind to wounded, and you are alone with a young boy and a newly wounded man who probably cannot help you fight. How are you going to survive passing through my clan's territory unharmed? There have been too many raids upon our nests recently, and I am afraid to say that the young warriors are out for blood right now." He sighed. "If you do not want to follow me... see if any of the Magescians in your town know of a Peisio by the name of Kralira. Frankly, I have heard of no healer greater than her near here. Oh.. and you may want to take a detour and travel a day to the west before heading to Turkeye to go around my clan's territory if you wish to not be attacked."Well, I did offer. Not much I can do if he does not wish to accept my help. He gave a call and his fea and arrical cub came over the hill to sit near him and stare at the dovaa. "Come along you three, we need to go see if we can distract some of the patrollers near here.. or at least let them know these aren't raiders."

robot kitten Think we could have a time skip where Toki comes across Hatchet by himself? I can set it up XD Jaxirus made a small thoughtful noise, Baruin placed a hand on his Uncle's arm. His voice low, "Uncle. You did say we were at least two days ahead of schedule a few miles back. Maybe taking the detour will aid us."
Jaxirus nodded muttering, "A Peisio by the name of Kralira. That I did, Baruin." his voice rose a little, "Shaman Toki, again I offer thanks for the information you have given us. Boys..."Baruin stepped out into view, his eyes covered by a blindfold. White bandages could be seen peeking out from underneath, "Thank you." He gave a small half-bow. Nehelini stepped out next, a slight tremble to his shoulders but attempted to keep his voice steady as he bowed; "Thank you." He looked at the male and asked, "Are you a Kiandri?" his lavender eyes were bright and curious.

SwordOfTheDarkOnes Sure! I'll just give you a small post then you can time skip to whenever you wish! Toki picked up his arrical and set him on his back before answering the boy's question. "Yes. Most of the Khehora you will encounter here on Eowyn will be gaili, kiandri, or firani. There are others of course, but mostly those. " He shrugged and gave a toss of his wings in farewell before taking a running leap into the air to fly off and make sure that his clan didn't attack the travelers. Hopefully they find a healer for that boy. Being blind is painful in those first few years... You get used to it, but I've always missed seeing colors...

It was later into the early evening that found the small group making camp between two large rocks. Jaxirus wasn't going to risk being spotted and he knew that Baruin would be on edge at night. The elder of the two youths was indeed on edge, he didn't like the nearly deafening silence that came with nightfall. Nehelini was watching the fire pop before he blinked, "Uncle...can I go gather twigs nearby?"
Jaxirus looked at the child, mentally debating. On one hand he could go with Nehelini to ensure his safty...on the other he could let the child do something for himself. He settled with the latter, "Stay where you can hear my hum. All right?" Nehelini nodded happily, "I will." the child got up and as his Uncle hummed he walked away. Picking up twigs as he went. He blinked as he saw something dart...thinking that it was nothing the child kept on.

SwordOfTheDarkOnes Fae dragons are bout the size of a house cat. Toki's fae dragons had gone off to play, leaving a rather grouchy Toki to track them down. He couldn't fly, not with his arrical cub sleeping on his back, so instead he had to stalk after them when he'd rather be resting his old bones. Muttering to himself, he finally caught their scents along with that of a fire. Well, someone's near here so they must be going there to play pranks, he thought to himself with a sigh. Kashi , the white with red striped fae draogn, was indeed out looking for something to play with. And the small boy wandering away from his camp was the perfect toy! Pehsa, hte blue one, didn't like this at all! They should be with Pa and not out here! But... pranking seemed fun.... maybe just this once? He gave a soft chirp, to which Kashi responded by wrinkling her nose at him. Silly blighter! Pa was fine! Fun time now! She wriggled her but them pounced at the dovaa boy who was walking y them.

robot kitten Got cha~! Toki better act fast before... Baruin had laid down slumber clouding his mind as the day's travel caught up with him. Jaxirus leaned back against a rock as he mended one of his leather pouches with a bone needle. The male hummed as he became abosrbed in his work. He mused on what the route ahead had in store for them. At some point there was an Oasis that he knew would be a good stopping point. He glanced over to Baruin smiling as the youth seemed to fall into even breathing. He looked back to his task at hand. Nehelini still heard his Uncle's deep hum, his only comfort while the random grass rustles around him spiked his nerves. The child jumped a few times before squeaking loudly as something pounced out at him. "AH!" his cry was short and high pitched as he landed roughly on the ground. He hissed as a small rock cut into his palm. Tears welling up the child silently cried. Baruin jolted as he sat up suddenly, his mind still weary he tried to recall why he woke suddenly. His Uncle looked over at him, confusion written over his face. Wait...was that...Nehelini....? Oh no. The elder Dovaa stood quickly. "Nehelini!"

SwordOfTheDarkOnes sorry for the wait! Haven't been in mood to tag lately. He barked when he heard the cry. He was close, close enough to get a whiff of the dovaa's that they'd run into earlier. And he knew that Kashi, mischievous rascal that she was, would go tease the youngest one if she could. She saw all things as toys to play with. Kashi crawled all over the dovaa, poking and prodding him with her tiny claws. Pesha, upon hearing Toki's voice squeaked and flew back to Toki. Kashi chattered as he ran away: coward!
