Okay so I have some questions. And some thoughts. I first created Echo Chime to try out for the guild.. being this is my first real MLP RP... but apparently.. it needs revised... and I'm confused on the at aspect. It seems to me that I need to explain Echo's blindness in order to have pupiless eyes, which I find define the character, giving that belief he is blind. I would prefer to keep it that way... but what was told to me.. makes little to no sense. Why must I explain it away with human genology? Why is Human genology required? Is it a rule that I must have a full write out bio or page link in order to have the character approved? I'm not trying to be mean.. just trying to figure out why that part has to be described away like that? What's your guys opinions on that? Or tidbits or help on how to fix this? Or ideas?
Name: Echo Chime Species: Unicorn Gender:Male Cutie mark: A bell rests in the middle with a sound wave bouncing up and down going across the center behind the bell, along with small ripples appearing around the waves and bell. Special skill: Ability to create and manipulate sound and sound waves. With this ability he uses it to create an echo or echolocation to give him a sonic picture of his surroundings. He focuses his abilities through the bells he wears around both his neck and front legs. Age: New Stallion Residence: Canterlot Appearance: Teal eyes that bare no real pupil, due to his blindness. He is a blue pony that has the color melding into a semi dark aquamarine. His hair a wild shade of two colors. Black and a dark green tied together in a braid to one side, his bangs a bit long and mostly covering his eyes from sight of others. His tail is long like the old unicorns. To where it not hair but a long cat like tail that ends into a small stream of hair that matches his mane. Brief history/bio: He was born blind, never seeing the light and colors that Equestria could provide. Thankfully his parents, Star Healer (mother) and Muse (father) did their best to help their son. But it was surprising at a young age that Echo developed a way to get around with the help of his father, Muse. His father being a music loving pony would play random sounds... which literally lit up the world to little Echo. Thus finding out his little special ability with sound and sound waves. It was with this his father gifted him, his bells that he wears today. Now Echo wishes to travel and seek out new sounds, and maybe perhaps... someone that can accept him for him, with his blindness and... somewhat.. silent moods and sarcastic wit. In other words.... he was blunt, direct and could be a bit pervy if given a retort that makes his mind go to the gutter sometimes. But.. he tries for subtle....sometimes.
And Other questions:
If Echo can't be fixed.. I was thinking on creating a pony that could have the ability with lightning. Where he would store the energy within himself from rainstorms or highly charged areas... but would have to release it in order to keep the charge becoming to much for his body to hold. And releasing it through his horn, allowing his magic to temper and control the volume and complicity of it. Would this fly? Should I look more into? Thoughts on this?
Also... does have a decent explanation on Crystal and Kilin ponies? I find them fascinating... but I worry I won't be able to use the base for pony ideas. Is there a requirement for them? Things or sort.
Thanks for any help. I'd really like to get a character up and running if I can, here soon hopefully... but I think tips from people that have had their ponies approve might help me trying to figure what I did wrong.

well for your first question, I had a similar problem with shadow fire, to be pacific his wings, originally I had them be a defining feature were he didn't have feathers on them, but I had to change it to a rare condition. I think cuddle is doing this to make each character sound more believable, reasons why, you would need to ask her, cause I still don't know the details, but what you could try to make it accepted is that magic was involded with Echo's eyes, im not sure if it will work, but its worth a shot...
as for your second character, I would say add this unicorn, cause the more characters you got the more bits you can earn, in which can be used to purchase pictures from cuddle.
as for the crystal and kilin ponies base pictures, a detailed description would be a great alternative if you cant find the base to do it yourself, at which point, once enough bits can be earned through posts, you can ask cuddle or one of the other drawers to draw you a picture of these ponies

In terms of that ability, I wouldn't count on it. Controlling electrical currents with magical ease, sure, one of my guys has that ability but doesn't really exploit/use it. Actually storing a current in his/her body, that's like a 50/50 chance of yes and no. I think Cuddly is trying to stay on the relatedness level, and why she set your first character on revision. Aside from obvious ******** moments, it's basically the same as IRL: If you normally wouldn't see it here, you normally wouldn't see it there.
As for Crystals and Kilin:
Normally, I would see being a Crystal Pony as temporary, unless the character was born in the Crystal City or at least raised there at a VERY very early age, no later than a month. Being in the Crystal City during the Renewal Festival turns normally non-crystalline beings into such for a few hours, provided they remain in a 3 mile radius of the Crystal Heart. Permanent Crystal Pony would be genetics and a manipulation of the child's immune system, and they would remain as a crystalline being even if they left the city.
Kilin were heavily based off of the fan-made Kirin.
Hey there! I'll try to answer your questions as best I can.
Don't let the revision request discourage you from your characters. Just because it needs a bit of tweaking doesn't mean it's a bad idea, it just needs some polishing. This guild is very new and we're trying to keep everyone on a level playing field to start off, thus the rather basic ponies that are being allowed. The further the guild gets, the more we can branch out!
As far as the eyes go, I think Cuddly meant that blind people/animals still have their pupils even though they can't see. There are some diseases/causes for cloudy eyes, and one of our first members here has a blind pony with foggy pupils. I understand what you want the eyes to convey, though! So don't feel like you're coming out of left field.
That being said, having reasons for things that your characters can do/are handicapped by does wonders for character development. Rather than just saying 'oh it was magic' or 'oh they were born that way', it's helpful to everyone to understand your character by adding why, even if it was magic or a birth defect. Was the mother in an accident during the pregnancy? Did a younger sibling try to do a spell before he or she should have and blinded your character? Things like that.
Also, the Changling characters generally don't have pupils and it's a very defining characteristic for them. Giving your character a distinguishing trait of another species can end up with some pretty intense confusion.
But it's a very easy fix, so don't worry!
On to the next matter of business!
Crystal ponies are easy to find information on since they've been in the show. You can consider anything that's canon to be canon here. Here's the Wiki about them! If you have specific questions, though, we'd be happy to answer.
As far as the Kilin go, the META plot that's going on is helping everyone find out more about them. There's a little blurb in the species thread, but more will come to light as the META goes on, as well as their kingdom and other creatures within it. Also, they're not based on the fan-made version, rather the Chinese Qilin/Kilin, which I'm sure influenced the fan-made version. Cuddly and I have taken some of our own creative liberties - all Kilin are vegetarian, there are variation in horn size and number between the genders, they all possess an inherent magic, etc etc - for this guild, though, so don't take that Wiki to heart for every single detail =3

Ah I see the changling thing. That's a bit more understanding for me. I wouldn't want someone to get mixed up. I'll see if I can figure out something for Echo.
By the way could I ask your opinion on the lightning theory pony?
Ohhh.. I like the sound of the kilin. Will you be allowing creation of them? And if so.. would they have to be part of the main plot? Or should I wait till the meta plot is over before deciding that?

I could see the pony having some sort of pendant or amulet that has a little generator or something inside of it so he or she always has electricity at hand - not much, maybe enough to power a bulb or work like a flashlight - in case there's no storms handy.

Hey Cuddle when you get a spare moment. Would you mind answer more about the Kilin? Would I be able to make one? What are the requirements to do so? Should I wait till the end of the meta event before attempting? anything I should know about them?
I think you already fixed your character but let me try to explain why (to the best of my memory).
I believe you gave him a specific type of blindness that does not occur with faded pupils. (I believe being born blind?) That's it. You can't say "his pupils are gone because he has this type of blindness" when it just doesn't happen. That one in particular, when it does happen, comes with a slew of other problems and conditions. But again I think you fixed it xD
Typically disabilities are something that are strictly regulated and this is mentioned in the rules/guidelines. Its immoral to misrepresent any given disability, like any other minority. You're required to do proper research on it. If it seems as though you have not done your research, you will be asked to go do so. (Which is what I asked you to do for your revision) To go "lol it looks cool" is incredibly insulting to the people who do have to handle these impairments in the real world. And I firmly believe RP should be used to educate and broaden people's understanding of others.
I suggested looking at genetic defects(not genealogies, that's a family tree lol) in humans because I don't expect you to go become a horse genetics specialist. Human disabilities are greatly expanded on so that more people can understand them, horse genetics would be geared towards biologists, horse owners, and vets.
All I expect is for you to go read the wiki page about blindness and gain some level of understanding of how it works, where it comes from, and what it does before giving it to your character.
As for electric pony I think that was mostly covered. Perhaps a magic pendant that stores electricity or a power that is remotely weak during certain conditions, and grows stronger (say in a lightning storm) -- I think typically ponies with this ability manipulate existing elements (like shadow fire) rather than manifest them or store them.

Can you make one, yes... You can have XYZ number of atypical ponies (see the character approval thread for numbers) and I don't recall you having any yet so you should be free to?
Kilin were (mostly) segregated from the rest of equestria until the metaplot but now a shipping route has opened up between the kingdoms, and kilin are welcome to travel with it.
