Hello, I'm new to the guild, but some of you may have seen me around the Alchemy Exchange, Services (in my shop), or generally chatting about with other alchemists.
I was the 18th person to craft Lucifer's Wings! (According to Miss Checkmate's Backwing tracker thread)
Yesterday I began working on my unfinished Celestial quest formula. I had made Cherubim's Wings before the big inflation hit us. And just gave up on it for a while. And as of tonight, at the stroke of midnight, I crafted Seraphim's wings! *shows them off in all their glory*
I know the Fish, Dye, and Monarch's are going to be a huge undertaking. Far larger than Lucifer's Wings, by a long-shot.
What I'd like to ask is:
Have you crafted the rare fish using fish-exchanging in the shops? And how long did it take you personally? Have you collected / crafted inks to make a Body Dye? And how long did that take you? As for Monarchs I know nothing aside it being a rare bug, can you trade in to make them? How long does it take to make one Monarch?
If any of these are worth doing myself instead of buying on market/exchange, I would be interested in some tips on how to get it done!
I know I will find more of these answers around the site's guides, as time goes on and I learn more about them, but I'd like to know what it was like when you were going through it, if you have already!
Wish me luck guys, I'm going to need it. Crafting Seraphim's has left me rather broke, so I know I have time on my hands.

Ooh, another Arcangel's Maker! I haven't gotten as far as Seraphim, so far I just have my little Cherubim wingies. ~pets tiny fluttering wings~
Anywho, I quested for the longest time to make a white body dye right then the body dyes came out. It was a pain, and I kept running out of gold to buy inks on the marketplace, and collecting bugs in town is long and tedious. But! I eventually succeeded, and I use it occasionally as a nice white skin for certain avi's. I was grinning madly when I found myself in the exchange screen exchanging all those inks for the dye. whee
I'm going to make a second for my Arcangel's wings. Like hell am I using my first for this!

That's awesome. I really think that I should give making inks and dye a try, it is free afterall.

It's free but takes a long time. It's not something for the patient.

Oh & no, I don't think there's any way to craft a monarch. You have to just craft one. & the dye does take a long time...but if you're gold poor, & have time to kill, I'd just go for it that way. Sometimes I snag bugs really cheap in bulk in the MP. Blue tends to be the hardest, but then again I often farm in towns during morning time for old crumpled newspaper, so I tend to get mostly red XD

Welcome to the Guild!!!! For my wings I did not rule out any possibility. By that I mean, I collected fishes and inks, and also kept an eye on marketplace and forum deals.
It took me months man, and it wasn't as inflated as it is now sweatdrop

I knew it would take a long time, and that's fine with me! I'm patient. It took me 7 months to get the gold and items for Lucifer's wings while leveling to level 10 at the same time.
But hey, I'll get it done some way or another. x3

You know, I just gave into the fact that gaia will keep re-selling wing formulae. Which is fine by me, it helps us that want to begin them, get them. Since so many get locked out into someone's account who doesn't finish them, it becomes really slim-pickings for those who want one. But I can not do cases anymore, I just can't. xd I'm so over that it's beyond anything I want to do again. xD

That would be fantastic XD I've got...1 day left on this bid for a Monarch. around 100mil. So much better than paying 300 mil+. That's the best I've been able to find. Maybe make an anonymous tip to gaia HQ XD That's what we need in Flynn's Plunder.

XD Well....yea, back in the day. Now...I'd say not so much. If the SF forum is anything to consider >> Yea, that would certainly be helpful. I also wish they'd do more with aquariums & not just chuck that to the side but...that's an entirely different issue that needs to be tackled XD Just in general, they shouldn't neglect things like alchemy & aquariums ;] It seems like such a waste to just let them rot away.
