Briinah had never been outside of Sauti and everything looked so foreign to her. She had managed to hop on one of the supply caravans headed to Neued. She had no idea a place could be so dry. The entire trip through Tale, Briinah had been licking her lips to keep them from cracking. She couldn't believe her mother once lived out here. It's no wonder she went back to Sauti.
She didn't see a whole lot from the caravan, and it only stopped at night to rest. There weren't many others traveling the road. Briinah remembers seeing some wounded leaf tribe. The driver gave them food and water for their way back home.
She had seen leaf before, and even ice earthlings, but she had never seen shifters before. The caravan was going to Neued, the oldest shifter settlement. Briinah was curious to learn about them and their history. She shook her head. She couldn't let that distract her. Briinah had come all this way to see the effects of the battle up close with her own eyes. She had to know what to do. If she could help than she would, but she feared the carnage would be beyond repair. If that was so, then perhaps the Oban's could be reasoned with.
The Caravan stopped and the others started unloading the supplies. Briinah hopped out to look around. Jauhar was beautiful beyond what she could have imagined. The trees were huge! they must have been ancient! The settlement itself looked as old as the trees, only it looked worn and tired, in need of care. The people in the settlement appeared in need of the same kind of care.
Briinah raised her hand to her mouth. She was astonished by the amount of injury. So many on sick beds and by the looks, some of them needed amputation. The people here looked so worn and defeated.
One of the men from the caravan handed her a blanket and some provisions. "Here help had these out."
"Um.. oh okay," She didn't quite know who they should be for. Briinah looked around, she appeared nervous and scrambled. looking for someone to give these to.

Ethelfleade had healed rather fast, faster than most anyway. She didn't really remember much of her trip to Neued, other than the girl Aminah and her sister and the one man who had carried her most of the way. As soon as she was healed enough to be released, Fleade got out of those tents as soon as she could. That was one thing the ice girl didn't like feeling, like she needed help from anybody. Though, being out of the tents meant being even more so in the hot Jauhar forest. It was relentless. Fleade still wasn't quite used to it even after being here for the generous amount of time that she had. Granted, she still wore her clothes from home, which probably wasn't the best idea in this heat, but she couldn't even stand the idea of dressing like any of the other earthlings or the alkidikes either. Deciding she might as well try to help some people, Fleade wandered through the camp, walking with a limp still, and an exhausted look on her face, some might say they released her from the healers a bit too soon, but she would tell them it wasn't soon enough.
Upon seeing that a new supply caravan had arrived, she thought that surely they would need help unloading supplies and stuff. That would be a good job for her, right? With a sigh, she decided she should do it anyway. Ethelfleade was walking up to the bunch of people who were currently surrounding the caravan when she noticed a wind girl with supplies in her hands who looked rather lost.
Walking up to her, Fleade kept a smile on her face. "Provisions and blankets might best serve the healers right now. They've been working round the clock to try to help heal people so they probably need all the provisions they can get. As for blankets, it's so hot here I can't see anybody except the sick or elderly needing them. I can take you to some of the healer tents if you'd like." Her smile remained constant as she spoke more than she had since before the battle started.

Briinah looked relieved and grateful for some direction. She had noticed the girl's limp as she approached, and figured she must have been in the fight. Everyone here seemed worn and needy. This girl, despite her assumed pain, smiled and greeted a stranger. That's what Biinah was here for, to smile and help others. But mostly she had come to scope out the situation.
She smiled and nodded in greeting. "Thank you, I'm eager to hand these out." Her mention of the heat suddenly felt heavy, and she became very aware of the blankets draped over her arms. She was now even more eager to hand these off. "Yes I think I will take you up on that offer, lead the way!" she said with a smile. "My name is Briinah by the way, I came strait from Sauti to help out"

Ethelfleade smiled back at the wind girl and took some supplies from a man that was handing them out before beginning to walk back the way she had come from. "It's nice to meet you, Briinah. I'm Ethelfleade, but you can call me Fleade if you'd like. I had come from Zena before the battle started. I'm only a prentice but I heard they needed everyone they could, so I came anyway. It's good that you're here, there's surprisingly a lot to do. She kept walking south to where the healer tents were put up. Most of them had been on the south side of the camp to get the injured there quicker but by now tents of soldiers had sprung up and everything was kind of a maze.
"They're just right over here." She said kindly as she ducked inside one of the tents. It was unoccupied by healers at the moment, and it seemed the occupants that were in there were sleeping. Creeping inside she set the supplies on a table and motioned Briinah to follow her. Once outside, Fleade took a deep breath. "I still can't believe we lost. I was sure that we would win. All of us earthlings and alkidikes coming together, yet we still couldn't win." There was a frown on her face as she found the nearest tree and leaned against it.

Briinah had never seen so many earthlings in one place before. She came from a small settlement and hadn't gotten out much until now. The whole area was foreign and although she was surrounded by people she felt alone. She knew no one here yet Fleade quickly helped her out. Tragedy seems to bring strangers together.
Seeing all these people, different races, backgrounds and cultures. Even united they were squashed under the Oban force. She could only imagine what kind of power could unleash such destruction. From seeing the aftermath Briinah could see the Oban's had the superior army.
"Their power must be incredible" she said with a sense of awe. "Do you think it is still safe here? I mean, what if they push again?" her sense of fear prickled her skin and she felt her hands start to sweat. Nilah44 D,: terribly late sry. let me know if still interested in continuing

Ethelfleade nodded at Briinah's first statement, yet found herself disappointed in the awe she heard in her voice. But that disappointment was washed away by the small sound of fear as the other had continued talking. "They were surprisingly strategic. I thought they were retreating but they were just leading us into a trap...we will definitely have to be more careful next time. I hope our leaders, well, whats left of them are having lots of strategy meetings." She had to think on Brii's next question. 'Do you think it is still safe here?' Fleade didn't know if she could really answer that one. "To be honest, I'm not sure. We have lots of warriors who are training even harder. Though I fear that some have gone home. This is the shifters' home, I don't see why they aren't trying to make some kind of defenses." If it was her home in Zena, she was sure her family would be banding together with others to fortify their home and to make a stand, not keep falling back. Because eventually, there wont be anywhere else to go. No worries Flan, I'm always up for continuing. And sorry I took so long this time. <3
