The woods are infinite, each tree a different colour, branches seemingly merging into other branches. It feels all sorts of noisy, strange honks, wheezes, rustling and crunching evident around the vibrant woods. Music plays in the distance. Trumpets fanfare but are entirely invisible, the ground occasionally shifts and moves around as if that is totally normal. There is nothing quite ordinary about these woods because everything about it is extraordinary. Occasionally from within a hollow tree, eyes stare outwards, crazy eyes, happy eyes, multiple pairs of eyes that flicker and then disappear again.

In the middle of the woods is a sign. There is an exclamation mark over it, marking it as a main quest. Upon reaching it, the signpost begins to speak, without a mouth even.
"I am the wayfinder, and it means finding your way and not finding your way. Well, I supposed this is an official welcome to Tulgey Woods, where you'll find everything and of course nothing at all. First things first, I supposed you'd like to level up a bit, and collect these rare sort of fragments. Well, not a problem at all, not a problem. Let's see... hm... yes... I do think some exploration is due. Do be a dear and examine five trees around you. Keep in mind, trees are very shy, yes some are shy indeed, and some are just too noisy those trees, full of surprises. Examine five trees, and come back to me when you're finished!"
MAIN QUEST: TULGEY WOODS DAY 1 - Wander around the woods and examine 5 trees. Each tree has a surprise!

- This quest will be up for 48 hours UNTIL MARCH 22nd AT 8:00 PM PST and then another quest for Tulgey Woods will take its place. You may do this quest UNTIL then. Side quests will be up for three days and area exploration for this area. - You can only [complete this quest once ]
gaia_crownFIND FIVE TREES: Roll 1 10-sided dice to wander around the forest. Do so in this thread. You are free to talk to other players as well! Match your dice roll to these results IN THE SPOILER TAG BELOW and rp them out. Your character will do this exactly 5 times. You get as many fragments as you rolled for. If you rolled no fragments, then you collect none. When you are done, please post your FRAGMENT DROP OFF HERE. After you have finished the main quests you can partake in the side quests.
1: The first tree is a long tree, and bends down to look at you with hollow sleepy eyes as you reach over. "Oh, please, you're not putting your hand in my nose are you? That's so very disgusting, and I'm afraid I haven't cleaned up yet. Very disgusting indeed. Come back again when I'm clean."
When you come back the tree is gone.
2: The second tree is a wide tree and doesn't look too happy to see you. It crosses its arms. "I don't think so, the last people who were here were terribly mean about it. Terribly, terribly mean and it just won't do anymore. If you come any closer I will have to resort to violence I mean it! Don't come any closer!"
If you move closer it hits you for -5 damage with its branches.
3: You reach a tiny tree and it looks up at you and only has a row of smiling teeth. "Guess what I'm hiding!"
If you cater to it then it tells you "I'm hiding something in my mouth!" It sticks out its mouth and lo and behind it is a fragment! +1 Fragment.
If you don't guess the tree looks disappointed. "Oh, okay..." It does not give you a fragment.
4: You reach a broken tree and it is sobbing. "I'm so very sad", says the broken tree. "So, so very sad indeed. I left my glasses around here and now I can't find them. Can you help me out?"
If you don't help it out it gives you nothing and continues to sob.
If you help it out, search around the tree for glasses! Roll 1d4. If you roll a 4 you succeed in finding its glasses. It is super excited as you hand it back. "Thank you, oh my goodness, thank you indeed. Here, have this." It gives you a fragment and insists on giving you a hug, but the hug is very prickly and not very nice at all. +1 Fragment.
5: You reach a willow tree and you can barely see its eyes through the giant slew of willows. It shakes its head furiously, leaves rain down, and refuses you let you go any closer, batting you with its leaves. Ow!
6: You reach a long, slender tree and it looks quite ordinary. "Hello," says the long slender tree. "I have a small question. I have two friends, Dilly, Milly, and Nilly. Nilly is taller than Dilly, but shorter than me. Dilly is shorter than Milly but taller than me. How tall am I?"
If you answer as truthfully as you can the tree says "No, why, I do not think that's the answer at all. You are very wrong."
If you tell them you do not know the tree gloats. "Why, I didn't think you would. It proves I am the better tree." But you are not a tree at all!
7: You reach a tree stump and it isn't able to talk because it is a tree stump. It makes a great item for sitting though.
8: You reach a tree with stripes. Trees with stripes, how silly!
"I beg your pardon," says the tree with stripes, "but I am not silly at all. In here everything is possible and anything is impossible and therefore a tree with stripes is completely within everything and anything." Its stripes change colours. "Now, give me a good, good shake. I want to get some more colour out. Shake me really well, if you do I'll reward you."
If you shake the tree it laughs happily and then spits out a fragment. It bids you your merry way as you continue walking. +1 fragment.
9: You reach a tree with a lot of signs on it. The signs read "This, Way, To, Nowhere, And, Everywhere." They are in separate signs, and the "And" is a separate sign of its own. This is a very informative tree!
10: You reach a tree and on top of it is a smiling set of teeth. Not the tree itself, just on top of it. "You seem a little lost", says the smiling set of teeth, "but not to worry. Everyone's quite lost here. I hope you find your way, there's so much more for you to get lost in."
Before you can ask what it means, it is gone.
Quest Complete Reward: After searching 5 trees the quest is considered completed. Your character gains these rewards:
Your character may explore any of these other areas of Tulgey Woods. Think of them as SIDE QUEST. They may even get fantastic prizes for doing so! These areas are ENTIRELY OPTIONAL. You can only complete them ONCE per character. - If you obtain any FRAGMENTS in the side quests, please don't forget to post them HERE

Outside of quests you can also PRP and ORP for the sake of interacting with new characters! You can do so either at the TAVERN OR at the GUILD HALL

This probably wasn't the strangest thing that's happened to him. No, that would be far from the truth, really. Shadowstep wasn't really certain why he was here. He had a general idea of what he was supposed to do, and it all seemed rather odd. This wasn't quite like a normal lucid dream, that Xiu had taught him how to do years back.
He let out a sigh, then shook his head. He'd figure things out eventually. For now, he figured the only way to go was forward.
In the very least, he still had daggers. Though, there was something on his head. Reaching up, he pulled down a set of... what appeared to be rabbit ears.
"You've got to be bloody kidding me," he groans. Now feeling a bit of irritation on top of everything else, he just trudged onwards into the woods until he spotted a peculiar sign. It didn't take long before the thing began to speak to him. It wanted him to go examine five trees. One thing was for certain, there was no lack of trees around. It felt a little ridiculous really, all of this. Rabbit ears notwithstanding. A part of him was wondering if he really should be humoring this. Maybe he could try to dream about something else?
He closed his eyes and concentrated, attempting to do just that.
It didn't work.
"Dammit..." he grumbled under his breath.

Now, there was not a lot to say about games and Molan. Because there wasn't much that went on between he and they. Which was why, without a doubt, this odd dream of sorts was rather puzzling to have. It seemed more like something that Etzer would have drug him into, but... he couldn't blame it on his brother when he made the odd choice to tumble down a hole. To drink that bottle, and... stood before an AI that was explaining a lot about some world that he was in.
Yea, this was definitely not a normal dream for him. At all. The AI seemed to not notice the peculiar look on his face as he listened to her rattle on and on about the mechanics of this world. It wasn't until she asked him for decision that he merely stared. An alias?
Like that nickname on those website? "Ear tw- wait... scratch that." He was NOT going by the nickname his brother kept giving him. "Uh... Frost?" A shake of it's head. 'This name is already taken.' Well that was automated. "Frost...paw?" There might have been a noise as it accepted that entry, solidifying that he'd earned a strange name. Well, too late to change that choice. Next came his job. Or class. Whatever she called it. He merely looked through them before pointing to the catlike one. "Cheshire was it?" He didn't want to be stuck healing, and being hit nonstop sounded like a pain. So something average. The outfit wasn't THAT bad either.
If he had to wear it.
It seemed that took care of things as there was another bit of a noise as things went into effect. And then he was promptly dumped, or perhaps just warped, into a new location. A set of woods rather bright and lively as he looked around. And his ears drooped down. "Noisy..." Oddly enough it didn't seem THAT bad though. He did glance around a moment before noticing the one thing that stuck out worse than eyes watching him from the plants.
A giant yellow exclamation point.
Subtle. Really subtle.
As he walked closer it began to babble at him, going on about the fragments and whatnot as he listened before looking to the trees. "Seriously..?" He wasn't fully aware that, to the rest of the world, it looked like he was talking to himself. Because it WAS just an NPC, but... it was talking to him. Still, that in mind he shrugged and turned to walk over toward the first tree. He'd just... get this over with.

As he started to gander around the area to find a tree to... interact with... he noticed there was another person who'd been warped in. Some Shadowstep person apparently based on what appeared above their head. Wait...
He looked up at that, noticing the nickname over his own head. He should have REALLY chosen something better. He mentally cringed a bit before stalking off, deciding that perhaps it was best to just forget about it and get this game going. It would lead to him waking up, right?
And so onward to a- why had he chosen this? He stopped as he reached the stump, glancing around briefly before choosing to sit down on it and pretend to examine the costume he'd been dumped in. Well at least it was relatively decent quality. How would this protect anyone though? This game HAD talked about a battle system...
Oh well onward to the next thing.

...
But where was SCIENCE?
The little Hatter attempted to make sense of the sights and sounds surrounding her. Then she looked down at herself, relieved to see she was wearing some red, and that she still had her tail. Even if it didn't have a stinger. She raised a hand to her face. Aaand her antennae were missing.
Fascinating.
What was this place? SCIENCE scampered off down the path, attempting find an answer to the question. At first, she tried to pounce on anything that moved, made a noise, or looked at her, but soon found the sheer amount of things that filled those categories too much to follow.
Following the path more or less directly soon brought her something tangible to research. A sign. With an exclamation mark. And it spoke to her! SCIENCE listened avidly to its instructions.

Had he said he was going to find another spot? No. No the sign that talked wouldn't mind. So instead he merely sat there and watched as more people seemed to be appearing. And one... collapsed. Well ok.
Wait did he know that guy? Nah, people could change how they looked in here. He'd accidentally chopped off his hair... so it was probably someone else.
Wait... was this all still in his head? His dream? So were these figments of his imagination? If so... why did he care what they though? These were rather good and relevant questions to be asking. Ones he really didn't have a proper way to answer either. So instead of doing anything useful, 'Frostpaw' just sat there like an idiot. On a stump. Yeaaaa~!

Whatever. Shadowstep was going to get this stupid task over with first, he supposed. He trudged on over to the nearest tree. It was pretty broken down from what he could see. With a furrowed brow, he looked it over some more before taking a quick step back as it suddenly began to speak.
"I'm so very sad," it told him.
Apparently the tree had lost its..glasses? Shadowstep just stared at the tree for a few moments.
"Glasses. Really," he repeated flatly. He considered his options. It was tempting to just move on.

Thoughts and ponderings aside, he had a job to do. So back up to his feet he rose, walking along toward nice quiet tree, until he made the mistake of looking over toward one that was making a racket. It took this as an invitation and started babbling about wanting it's glasses or something.

Well, talking odd tree aside, he did suppose he should try to help it. What with that expectant look it was now giving him as it waited for an answer. "Fine." He stated simply before trudging off to look.

The sign without a mouth said she should go look at trees. SCIENCE considered the task for a moment. She'd seen a bit of the trees already, but the bit of news about the trees being shy would explain why things seemed to disappear when she tried to pounce on them.
"Very well!" she announced decisively. " I accept your quest, sign!"
SCIENCE ran off to try and examine her first tree, then remembered herself, and started sneaking into the woods.
The first tree she encountered did not want to have anything to do with her! SCIENCE had to scramble backwards to avoid getting whipped by the Willow's fronds. She could have sworn she'd seen eyes on the tree, though...

While he was deciding, the tree continued to wail away. Shaking his head, Shadowstep just looked around the immediate area quickly, trying to spot any signs of a dropped item. How a tree would lose such a thing was beyond him.
Few things were making sense tonight, anyway. His quick sweep yielded nothing, so he shrugged and went on his way, leaving the tree to sob.

Alas, despite all the searching he did. Which actually only amounted to a few minutes around the tree(why would it be further away? THIS WAS A TREE!) he didn't locate any glasses.
He finally returned to the tree, empty handed with a shrug. "Did you throw them?" The thing merely stared at him, blankly, as this was obviously not a recorded answer and instead just went back to bawling about glasses.
...yea. No. He wasn't going to continue this. New tree time!

Shadowstep soon became aware that he was not alone here. He did recall something of a 'collaborative' dream. They had words floating over their heads. Squinting, he had a little bit of trouble making out the words clearly. Whatever.
He just sought out the next tree.
This one didn't seem very happy to see him. He tilted his head as this too began to speak. That wasn't all, it actually began to threaten him. Shadowstep didn't approach. Instead, he just stared at it for some time. The tree kept on warning him to not approach. He didn't know what the hell it was talking about for what it wasn't planning on doing, but whatever. He shook his head then wandered elsewhere.
