[General Information]
Name: Abdi'kar'im O'jore Ghedi
Nicknames: Most just call him Abdi. O'jore is actually a person as well, but he is a manifestation of Abdi's psyche, that comes out only in life-threatening situations.
Titles: Martian Manhunter
Age: 39
Birthday: June 29th
Star Sign: Cancer
Gender: Male
Race: Martian
Allegiance: As a Legacy Holder, Abdikarim lives to serve the common people. Ojore simply wishes to survive.
[Personal Information]
Occupation: Professor of Anthropology at UCCC, best-selling author of various autobiographical works, all related to his adventures in South America investigating ruins. Sexuality: He's heterosexual, though he really doesn't have time for anyone.
Likes:
• Stargazing, a habit from his childhood.
• Meditating alone, a way to calm himself.
• Cooking, something he does a lot helping orphan in Somalia, which he eventually grew to love.
• Hiking, a hobby that he really doesn't have time for anymore.
• Exploring ruins, another hobby he hasn't been able to indulge lately.
• Teaching, especially teaching those who learn very slowly, as he takes his job as a challenge, and relishes being able to teach those who other teachers can't teach.
• The cello, an instrument he always loved to listen to, but never had the time to learn.
Dreams: Abdi wishes to find who J'onn J'onzz's brother, Malefic, possessed, and kill him. Other than that, he simply wishes to keep his city as safe as possible, through whatever means necessary. O'jore wants to watch things die and burn.
Dislikes:
• Unclean people
• Rude loud people
• Overly spicy food
• Organized military
• Racists
• White Martians
• Most of the other professors in his Department
Fears:
• Most other Martians, as nearly nobody knows of his existence.
• Fire, both from his own life, and through J'onn J'onzz
• Abdi fears for Africa's fate as a developing continent, as their economy is both weak, and mostly controlled by nations of other continents.
Darkest Secret: Abdi fears his own ruthlessness sometimes, and a childhood of killing has made him hardened to death, and much more willing to kill than any of the other heroes. J'onn J'onzz's personality doesn't really help, as he too is a hunter, capable and willing to kill. The manifestation of this childhood as a soldier is known as "O'jore," a broken fragment of Abdi's psyche that comes out very, very rarely.
Favourite Food: Ugali
Favourite Drink: Though he rarely allows himself to drink, Abdi loves cognac.
Least Favourite Food: Anything involving pork.
Least Favourite Drink: He absolutely can't stand weak liquor.
Loyalties: Abdi is loyal to the common people of his city, and would lay his life down for them at a moment's notice.
Intelligence Level: Incredibly high. Due to J'onn Jonzz's influence, Abdi is easily the most experienced of all heroes, having lived for far longer than the others. Also Abdi has a Post-doctorate, and is very knowledgeable when it comes to ancient history. Finally, being a Martian himself, albeit a young one, Abdi has a vast repository of knowledge in his reach.
Dominant Hand: Left-handed, though he is slowly working on gaining ambidexterity.
Strengths: In addition to J'onn Jonzz's abilities, Abdi is a very intelligent man, having made a fortune through writing books and exploring ruins throughout South America. Even for his age, Abdi is in extremely good shape for a human, capable of running under a 6 minute mile with a full backpack, and possessing several years of war experience. His reflexes are incredibly sharp, having had to fend for himself almost since birth. Finally, Abdi is incredibly ruthless, and is capable of acts that most heroes would shy away from, including murder and torture.
Weaknesses: In addition to his innate pyrophobia, Abdi has a childhood fear of guns, and has an almost religious hatred for tyrants, which more often than not can force O'jore to show himself. When under the influence of O'jore, Abdi's reflexes and sense of battle go up to inhuman levels, but he is almost incapable of higher thought, and becomes very savage, almost like an animal. Finally, the transition between Ojore and Abdi, and vice-versa, is not instantaneous by any means; in fact, it takes at least two posts, and he is extremely vulnerable while he taps into his own psyche to bring out Ojore. Of course, when he's in real danger, Ojore forces his way out, which has its own drawbacks.
Cherished Items:
A small statue that Abdi's deceased older brother Mauk'aren made. Other than that, he owns J'onn J'onzz's Kuru Pendant, and his own.
Philosophical/ Social Viewpoint: Abdi believes that all humans are innately good, but he is not so naive that he would let such beliefs override logical actions. He wants to see Africa become a powerful continent one day, but he knows there is a lot of work to be done. In addition, he loves the United States, but realizes that his home is back on Mars, and wants to return one day, if only to pay respects to his family. He is not of this earth, and knows this. His coming to this planet in the first place has led him to believe that he belongs here, and will stay for good, defending it to his last breath.
Religious Viewpoint: Abdi is firmly atheist.
Romantic Viewpoint: He doesn't have time for any sort of relationships.
Personality
Abdi is generally a very quiet individual, who doesn't speak much. Even when he teaches, he's relatively quiet, going back to his desk and not speaking when he finishes a lesson. Due to the fact that he's literally an alien already, he always feels alone on Earth, and frequently misses Mars and his deceased family. However, he is a very strong individual, and is more than willing to put aside his own
Biography
Abdi was born about three hundred years ago, on Saturn. His parents had left Mars decades before Hronmeer's Plague wiped out the majority of their home planet, and settled on Saturn, avoiding the populace, to whom the Martians were slightly related to. (DC Wiki.) While life wasn't incredibly difficult, Abdi's family were sick very often, and eventually died when Abdi was only 4 years old, extremely young for a Martian. Their death left him and his older brother to survive on the planet. A slave-trader found the two, promptly capturing, restraining, and selling the pair to investors on Apokolips. For almost two centuries, Abdi and his brother Mauk'aren fought in gladiatorial games on Apokolips, finally breaking free in a daring escape about sixty years ago. In the midst of the mass confusion caused by the escape, Mauk'aren was burnt terribly by soldiers, his body sent out into orbit. Presuming him dead, Abdi suffered a mental breakdown in space, eventually leading to the formation of "O'jore," the dark manifestation of his psyche. For almost twenty years after that, Abdi literally floated around in space, close to Earth but never too close, his will broken. In time, he clawed his way out of his mental prison, but the damage was done. "Oj'ore" was born, and Abdi's psychic abilities were severely weakened by the shock of the lifelong ordeal. He made his way to Earth, changing his shape to fit that of a 18-year old man. Wishing to live a simple life, or simple by Martian standards, Abdi went into college, graduating and eventually becoming a Professor at UCCC. Over this period of time, his psychic ability eventually came back to him, allowing him to sense the existence of J'onn J'onzz. Overjoyed, he tried to find the man, but he had vanished, leaving behind his memories through Batman's plan. Determined to do good to atone for all the killing he had done in Apokolips, Abdi took up the mantle of J'onn J'onzz, becoming the next Martian Manhunter.

[Ability Information]
○ Ability Name:
• Martian Physiology: The average Martian possesses the following power set:
• Extrasensory Input: Nine different senses.
• Martian Vision: Eyesight which extends the visible spectrum, visual acuity, and allows sight through most objects and barriers. Martian Vision is also similar to Kryptonian heat vision in that it can cause combustible objects to explode.
• Flight: The ability defy gravity and fly through sheer force of will. This ability is psionic in nature, and functions similarly to tactile telekinesis.
• Invulnerability: With the exception of fire, they are invulnerable to nearly all physical attacks. This is due primarily to their shape-shifting talents and the ability to increase the density of their molecular structure.
• Malleable Form: Psionic control over their physical form, even down to the molecular level. As a form of shape-shifting, this power enables a Martian to contort their physical structure to adopt human form, elongate limbs, grow to immense size, and so on. They can also change the substance and material from which their body is made of. This allows them to produce weapons and clothing of any type. They can maintain the selected form for an indeterminate amount of time without undue risk or strain. This ability allows for the folowing powers:
• Intangibility: The ability to decrease their molecular density to become incorporeal and thus able to pass through solid objects, as well as increase it to become tougher and stronger.
• Invisibility: The ability to bend light waves around their bodies, rendering them invisible to most forms of human detection. Through this byproduct of shape-shifting, they can also alter their body's temperature, allowing them to become invisible to most forms of electronic detection.
• Size Alteration
• Regeneration: The ability to rapidly heal wound, from minor cuts to regrowing lost limbs. This include the regrowth of major body parts such as the head, heart, or similar primary organs.
• Self-Sustenance: Negating the need to consume food or drink. This also eliminates the need to produce waste.
• Superhuman Speed: Either through flight or natural movement, they can maintain the speed and reflexes far in excess to that of a standard Earth human.
This also allows:
• Superhuman Agility
• Superhuman Reflexes
• Superhuman Endurance: Their endurance is just as formidable as their strength or invulnerability. When not in the presence of fire, they can operate under extreme conditions for an indeterminate period of time without showing signs of fatigue. The exact range of this power is unknown. When in the presence of fire, this endurance diminishes greatly.
• Superhuman Strength: While the exact range of magnitude of a Martian strength is unknown, it is generally accepted that their strength levels easily surpass the capacity to lift 100 tons. This ranks them in the same strength level as a Kryptonian under a yellow sun.
• Telepathy: The ability to read the minds of others and project their thoughts to varying degrees. They can also project their mental essences into a gestalt community known as the "Great Mind". Through this, the community can enhance the telepathic strength of other Martians. This power can also enable them to reverse the effects of amnesia or psychological brainwashing. A Martian's expertise with telepathy varies from Martian to Martian. Some Martians, such as J'onn J'onzz, can use their ability with such precision that they can extract repressed memories from a subject regardless of how dormant the memory may lie.
• Mind Control: As an extension of their telepathic powers, they can also use the ability to alter a subject's psychological profile, enabling them to manipulate, and in some cases, outright control their chosen target. This practice is greatly discouraged however, and only rarely used.
• Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced)
• Hunting
[Weakness Information]
○ Vulnerability to Fire: The Martian Manhunter has a psychosomatic fear of fire. It is unknown what the source of this fear is, whether it is a personal fear or a cultural fear, but whichever it is, it is a paralytic fear with the Manhunter. Exposure to fire, causes him to lose his powers, and in the case of extreme fire, to lose his control over his biomorphic form. The Manhunter is more vulnerable in this form and can take damage in this vulnerable state.
○ Chocolate Addiction: It has also been suggested that something within J'onn's physiology makes him addicted to the chemicals used in the Earth snack, Chocos. Withdrawal symptoms include violent bursts of rage, and loss of intellect. However, these claims have never been accurately substantiated, and may even be false.
