Pride/Pack History: Nil'nocere started out as a small pride that lived near a hotspring. They, at first, had a different name and many members. However, when the earthquake struck, the hotsprings were swallowed and members scattered, unable to find each other.

Two of the members did, however. Kilua - the daughter of the previous leader - and a hunter called Asha. They found each other and wandered endlessly, searching for a new home. They managed to collect a band of wanderers, eventually settling down into a new pride.

Appearance & Species

All species are welcome there is no bias.

Familiars

All familiars are welcome and aid normal members in their duties.

Religion

The pride has no set religion - nothing that the entire pride worships. Individuals are not begrudged their own religion however! Any members who are trying to force their religion on others will be asked to cease the behavior or kindly asked to leave.

Mates/Flings/etc.

Mates, Flings, and anything else in this area is an individual choice. Everyone has their individual opinion and they may keep their opinion as long as it does not harm someone. For example, if a character finds homosexuality wrong, they are expected to keep it to themselves and not begrudge the couple their peace.
Adolescent pregnancy is frowned upon simply because the risks involved, but are treated the same as any other. They are assigned a midwife early that will stay with them throughout the pregnancy to help them prepare.

Raising Pups and Cubs

Pups/Cubs are an important part of any pack and gives this pride an opportunity to grow larger. Pregnant mothers are assigned a midwife that will help them through a safe birth as well as remain close to help with the first part of the cubs/pups lives. All pups are given until they are a bit older to just play and be a pup, but then are expected to start their studies.

Young apprentices may take part in each role so they may find something they are good at. If they end up becoming a rank they are displeased with they may start an apprenticeship under another career.

Once an apprentice decided on a career, they are given a mentor and taught until they are ready, and then given their career rank. Some mentors or apprentices may decide that the apprentice needs a journeyman period where the apprentice leaves the pride to further their studies on their own.

Outposts

Outposts are created by a small group of different ranks that have proven themselves to the pride as the top of their class. The Outpost is a small faction that sets up away from that continues the pride's work.
An outpost contains at least 1 Healer, 1 Guard, and 1 Crafter but often contain more.

Crafters

Crafters are a special part of the pride that work closely with both the healers and guard/hunter ranks or create things. They help the pride run a lot more smoothly and are particularly praised for their work.
Notable Items: Stretchers, Furs (clothing/blankets/etc), Baskets

Patrols

The Pride has a special patrol. They have no real-set border and often pan out or take different paths to ensure they cover a wide spread of land. Patrols are always done in pairs in case of an injury and all guards and sentries know basic first aid. Most pairs are a Guard and Sentry, but not always.

Gardens and Gardening

The Garden is especially important to the pride. It is a stretch of land with a rock border and fertile soil that they grow herbs within. Gardeners take special care to learn as much as they can about each plant and will sometimes cross breed them in experimentation to find better herbs and try to create more effective ones. Outposts are often given clippings from basic herbs to plant a new garden at their new locations with instructions on how to care for them.

Education & Apprenticeships

All members will go through a period of apprenticeship, starting once they hit juvenile or adolescence. Some apprenticeships are shorter than others, however, and some may last into adulthood. In the case of a joining member, they will obtain this rank unless they can prove themselves skillful in that area. Some apprenticeships include a journeyman period where they leave the pride to continue their education. Every apprentice has a mentor.

Patients

Patients are not an official part of the pride, but are treated with the same kindness. They are anyone who is sick or injured that do not belong to the pride and won't be officially certed into the pride since this is not a rank. They may stay as visitors after they are better, join the pride, or leave. No one is forced to stay or go.

Ranks

Matron: The Matron leads the pride. They are the oldest healer in the pride. The one that takes her place will always be a healer and it chosen a few months before the leader steps down. If death occurs before a new leader is chose, the best head healer takes their place.

Healer Ranks

High Healer [~1]:

---------------

Head Healer [~1]: This is a healer that has proven themselves a leader and an innovator. They can come from any of the healer ranks (besides assistant and medic). There is one Head Healer to every 30 healers.

Head Medic [~1]: this rank is one below in status to the head healer. Only medics can obtain this rank and this rank can get promoted to head healer. There is one Head Medic for every 30 medics.
---------------

Healer [∞]: Healers specialize in basic healing. They need to know about herbs, plants, and poisons as well as know about wounds, broken bones, internal bleeding, and other such physical wounds.

Midwife [∞]: Midwives are just that. They aid those that are pregnant from the time they know they are having pups all the way up to the cubs/pups opening their eyes.

Nurturer [∞]: Nurturers come in right after the midwife's role is up. Once the pups open their eyes, Nurturers aid in any childhood care that the mother may not be able to deal with (such as illness or injury).

---------------

Assistant [∞]:
Medic [∞]:

Crafter Ranks

Apothecary [∞]

---------------

Artisan [∞]
Herbologist [∞]

---------------

Gardener [∞]

Other Ranks

General [~3] Any captain rank can obtain this rank. They control their field expertly and are a master of what they do, which is leading. They must be able to lead their group with ease and have respect of the lower ranks. They will often still do the same job they had when they started.

---------------

Hunt Captain [~1] Hunt Captains control a larger area of hunters than just a head hunter. They give orders of when or where to hunt. They organize larger hunts and make sure no one is harmed while a hunting event happens! There is one captain to ever 5 Head Hunters. They act as a head hunter in smaller hunting parties.

Guard Captain [~1]

Liaison Captain [~1] Captains of this area need to keep up with any alliances formed and any knowledge gained. Despite being a captain, they often continue with whatever rank they belonged to previously - for example, seekers will often go out and continue relations with alliance prides.

---------------

Head Hunter [~1]

Head Guard [~1]

Liaison [~1] There is one Liaison to ever 30 gatherers and seekers. They keep tabs on everyone in their group, including those outside of the pride. They must be extremely likable and able to form relationships well without any bias.

---------------

Hunter [∞] Hunters provide meat-food for the pride. They normally go outside of the lands and hunts for their foods. Many members of the pride need meat as a staple part of their diet and so the hunters are very important in that they provide these things. See HUNTING RITUALS for more information!

Gatherer [∞] Gatherers collect many things and often share them among the pride. They collect materials for the crafters to use as well as plants that may benefit the garden. They also collect fruits and berries that vegan/vegetarian members may eat and cannot collect themselves.

Seeker [∞] these members leave the pride often, searching for new members, knowledge, information, and other such important things. They fall under the jurisdiction of the Liaison, same as the gatherers. These members often are the first contact with potential allies.

Guard [∞] Guards patrol the lands to make sure no skirmishes happen. They protect the pride if anyone decides to attack the peaceful pride. The pride has no real, set boundaries so they really just check about and make sure everything is running smoothly and no one has a problem. They may be weak at tactics, but are strong fighters. They are normally paired with a sentry on patrols.

Sentry [∞] Sentries are like guards in which they patrol, but they are more often closer to a set perimeter. They watch more closely for danger and are better at tactics in getting out of situations, unlike guards. They are weaker fighters though, and are more of a lookout rather than a warrior. They are normally paired with guards for patrol but not always.

Social

[1 Social Skill] Basic Interaction: Any RP within the pride that has nothing to do with a career skill. Social skills and interaction in important for members to learn because dealing with patients and others keeps everything sailing smoothly and allows for bonds to form between members.

[3 Social Skills] Event ORP: If you participate in any ORP events, you get points for them! Despite them being sort of general interaction, this is an integration RP and strengthens bonds between members, which is super important in a pride. Depending on the event, this can be in addition to other points. (i.e if this is a mass planting/harvest event, your SoA can gain up to 7 points). At least 500 words must be posted in the ORP for this to count!

Career/General

[¼ Career Skill] Learning RP: Any youth RP with an adult. This is paired with a Cub-minding RP. This is the child version. Cubs get less points because they cannot practice the skills they learn until they are an apprentice. Certain games count for certain careers (ie. Tag counts as a hunting skill, and learning plant names counts under herb knowledge~]

[½ Career Skill] Cub-minding RP: RPs with youths are important, as young SoA soak up knowledge like sponges. Any knowledge shared with cubs can be counted here. The cubs will get youth-learning RPs.

[½ Career Skill] Intent RP: This RP is always done with a prospective mentor (mentors are always assigned by Seaki and will be listed here. Make sure you contact your mentor OR seaki. Seaki will contact your mentor first to confirm the mentorship. If all else fails, Seaki's characters will become your mentor.

[½ Career Skill] Journeyman RP: These are any RPs done outside of the pride while your SoA is on their Jouneyman trip if they learn something! If they don't, it counts as basic interaction. Points value for an RP may increase if the character they RP with is of the character's intended career (for example if a journeyman guard rps with a scout of the pridelands, they may potentially get 1 or 2 points instead of half of one). Point value for Journeyman RPs are low because the journeyman no longer has a guide.

Healing Skills

[1 Healing Skill] First Aid RP: this is any RP with basic first aid. Anything basic can be applied here. It can be anything from getting another to drink more water to applying a simple salve for minor scrapes.

[2 Healing Points] Healing RP: Any healing RP that is beyond first-aid skills. This is normally basic, non-emergency situations, such as a broken bone or a salve that needs to be prescribed for an illness.

[1 Healing Point] Patient Check-up: Any follow up RP with a patient. Sometimes a healer likes to check up with a patient after to make sure how they are doing and maybe give them additional instruction.

[2 Healing Points] Midwifing RP: Any RP that a midwife aids in a birth of a litter. Sometimes an expecting mother will be nervous and need some aid. Apprentices can obtain this skillpoint only if they are with a mentor or are in an emergency situation.

[4 Healing Points] Major Healing RP: Deep or Major wounds often need a lot of care. This includes wounds that need bandaging, major burns, and other major injuries.

Crafting Skills

[1 Crafting Skill] Basic Item Creation RP: Making basic items is an important step in a crafter’s life. These are small items, such as feather charms or basic jewelry. First items are often kept and given to a future mate.

[2 Crafting Skill] Basket/Pouch Creation RP: Baskets and pouches are important in the pride for carrying items and transporting them in large quantities to other places. All members of the pride have an item pouch for basic first aid items.

[3 Crafting Skill] Commission RP: Sometimes, if a crafter is good enough, commissions will be requested from this. It is a high honor to have something specific made. Total crafting skill should be at least 10 before attempting this.
