This is messy and under construction and will probably be under construction for a while. But it has my characters in it, and will serve to keep track of things for now. If anyone wants to RP, I am totally happy to RP!

Characters Corbin Vance
Vance is not very friendly, he tolerates people but he wants to be left alone and refuses to be nice for any length of time. If you're not a customer, or his boss, expect to be given the brush off or a snap of rudeness. He washes dishes at one of the local restaurants, but otherwise can often be hard to find.

Diantha Applby and Sweetie Dia loves to meet new people, and spend time with old friends. She is friendly and outgoing, eager to spread good feelings and pretty much incapable of holding any kind of grudge. She is also very reliable when it comes to anything plant and garden related, as it is her second-favorite hobby, and she can often be found helping out at her family's small shop.
Sweetie is not a sweetie. This little fox can and will get into anything, and he bites people he doesn't like. Can occasionally be bribed with snacks to allow pettings. Usually found with Dia, or seen rampaging adorably through the woods.

Description: Ice/Frost colors, taken from pallets like this and this. Pale/light color as the base, darker or lighter color as markings, but only a few small markings. CC-ish, I prefer markings focused around the eyes, on the ears, or tips of limbs than covering the whole body. Tribal markings, freckles, leopard-y spots, tiger-y stripes, and dapples are markings I enjoy, but simple is good. Very light eye color, maybe a pale blue or a pale purple, or silver.

Fashion : Justin wears slacks and loose-fitting button-down shirts. He trusts that his friends really did help him select all black and gray pants, and all white or light blue shirts, because he has no idea himself what colors he is wearing. He wears a vest when he wants to look nice, presumably a slate-gray one, and he has a jacket for cooler weather. Justin carries a polished wooden cane as well, finding it helpful for walking on potentially uneven ground as well as being a decent aid in persuading ill-intending strangers that he is not lightly trifled with.
Extra : Justin is a Whyst with a potent strength in scrying. He does not have particular control over it, he cannot 'scry' to find something or someone. Instead, his power predominantly manifests in his uncanny sense of when someone is deliberately lying to him and the occasional inkling that 'something is going to happen' which is usually ambiguous as it only indicates something significant and not whether that thing is good or bad. He had an inkling of 'something' on the day he lost his vision, but he also had a 'something' on the day he met Nutmeg.

Personality :
Justin could be quickly described by a first impression as companionable and mellow, he usually has a small smile on his face and is both friendly and polite when he encounters another person. However, he is not, in his own words, a 'nice' person, he just tries to be a 'good' person. Justin is not naïve or easily taken advantage of, and while everyone starts off with a very generous 'innocent until proven otherwise', he refuses to take any abuse laying down nor will he allow anyone else to be forced to endure abuse of any kind. He does take pleasure in helping others, and he actively works towards a, likely futile, goal of eliminating victims both by being available for anyone who might need someone and through a small self-defense class he teaches weekly, for free, to anyone who wishes to learn.
When he was a boy he dreamed of growing up to be a guard/police officer (I am not sure of the term in this setting) just like his hugely admired grandfather who his mother often spoke of. He didn't like the idea that some people might get away with hurting other people, and he still despises those who try to take advantage of someone whether the 'victim' is smaller or not. While Justin achieved his goal when he was still a young man, he lost his vision after suffering a blow to the head that left him unconscious for a short time when he was nineteen. Adjusting to this was difficult for him, and while for a few weeks he held out hope that his vision might return, it never did. Forced to rethink his life, Justin declined to allow his blindness to change him or his goals, all that it did was require him to change his methods. He was not useless, and he never would allow himself to become dependent on his eyes as being an excuse for not doing anything.
Some might find Justin to be a bit overwhelming, he does not accept in others any of the things that he won't allow from himself. Dreams are hard, but must be followed. Sometimes life has obstacles and painful things happen, but no one should ever give up. No excuse is good enough to justify hurting an innocent, and no excuse is good enough to justify giving up. Letting go is not the same as giving up, and sometimes accidents do happen, Justin is not an unreasonable person and most assuredly believes in forgiveness and allowing someone, provided they truly want to earn it, another chance.
Likes : Company, music, rainy days, being a 'teacher', that feeling in the moment when he knows he's helped someone to grow in some way.

Nutmeg is a sweet and loyal creature. While her natural playfulness and curiosity can occasionally make her just slightly unreliable, she is dedicated 120% to Justin. She knows he needs her, and she loves to be there for him. Meg behaves a bit like a seeing-eye dog, while she does not lead him about on a leash she sticks close to him and helps him find objects he is looking for, or picks up things he's dropped, or yips to let him know there's another person around, and so forth. She is mostly quiet, if a bit nosy, and while she is reserved with strangers and may growl if she dislikes someone's tone or sticky fingers pulling on her tail, she is not prone to violent reactions.
Likes : Justin, cuddles, food she gets off of someone's plate (which is far more delicious than what goes in her dish), laying in sunshine on a quiet afternoon.

Summoning :
For a while after losing his vision Justin truly believed his life to be over. He didn't know what he was going to do, or where he would go. He was lost, and he thought that meant he wanted to be alone. He spent a lot of time away from other people, moping around under the excuse that he was just trying to figure out his life, and it was when he was out alone in a quiet field that he first met Nutmeg. The fox came to him quietly, the brush of warm fur startling the blind man badly when she first sniffed at his hand. She smelled the food in his bag, and his stillness and silence had given her the confidence to approach.
Presented with a nonjudgemental ear, Justin found himself speaking to her as he let her eat the rolls a friend had insisted he take with him. Everything poured out into the silence, and before he knew it, somehow, he was telling the strange creature about the things he still wanted to accomplish. The fox didn't offer him advice, and she didn't make sympathetic sounds at him. She laid on his knee and licked the scraps of her snack off of his fingers and then allowed him to scratch the spot behind her ear they both understood was itchy. They sat together for a long time, Justin talking and the fox listening quietly. When he felt the coolness of evening, he finally rose to leave, and the fox followed him back to his home. He named her Nutmeg after the 'secret ingredient' in the sweet bread she'd sniffed out, and they've become inseparable.
