Magical Incantation: Fupanonai Category: Non-Battle Tome Type: Neutral Description:
Levitation is quite a useful skill for the peoples of Magesc. This tome contains a handy guide to mastering the art.
Chapter 1 covers basic control and offers tips on how to handle objects as heavy as a small sized canine (10lbs or 4.5kg). Chapter two expands a caster's skills allowing them more finesse and the ability to control multiple objects at a time as well as heavier things than before (200lbs or 90kg). Chapter 3 covers how to magically support the levitating of massive and unwieldy objects like horses, logs, and boulders (840lbs or 381kg).
Liliths arms were held tightly knitted across her chest. A disgruntled look on her face. This was the last time she had seen her father, the last time he had shown any kind of affection towards her mother. She kicked a rock as she walked, showing no concern for Junjie or his Khehora. What was the point? Would he leave? Everyone in her mothers life had left, those she loved in her own had done that as well. Except her mother. Why would she expect any different from Junjie and his brood?
Scoffing Lilith made a point of looking away from the company she was traveling with. Much to Erionda's disappointment. She knew nothing of how her once was mate or son were doing. And she wouldn't correct Lilith for feeling the way she did, that would only be hypocritical of her. Turning her attention to Junjie Erionda gave an awkward half smile. "He's done more damage to her than I ever thought a father could do. I can't even get her to smile anymore. Not even the sight of a Vinara will cheer her up."
Erionda's heart was heavy as she spoke. Walking along the edge of the cliff towards the entrance to the cave of dragons. She had insisted Lilith come along, as she had yet to come of age for either the clan choosing OR her weapon yet. Still requiring experience in battle before anything happened to her. She had asked Junjie to accompany her, in case of any problems it was better to have more than one eye on small melancholy girl.
Uassae rumbled something about being right all along but said nothing more as his tail dragged in the sand. He needed to find someone for Rio who COULD cheer her up. Who wouldn't break her heart time and again. Even from the start she was too trusting and now she was a broken mess. Flinging herself further and further into the desire to fight. He was starting to wonder if she purposefully sought out death in order to end the pain she felt. It worried both Lanzecki and himself, how would she handle it if Lilith left her too? It would be bound to happen, the child would grow and want to stretch her wings and fly on her own.

Junjie watched Lilith as she went about ignoring the rest of the group, kicking rocks here and there, and he couldn't help but to worry a little about her. She seemed to be so out of sorts, so different from the bouncy and cheerful little girl that she was when she was younger. Turning to look over at Rio he listened as his friend spoke of how Kilian had done so much damage to her, that Rio couldn't even get her to smile. He gave a soft sigh, wishing that there was something that he could do to try to cheer her up. He'd try but she seemed to be making a huge point of not looking his way.
"At least she still has you. I know well that having ones mother nearby is something very important, probably the most important thing." He said, giving Rio the best smile that he could muster as they walked along toward the Cave of Dragons. It was the last time he recalled seeing Kilian, the little boy, Cass, he'd started to cry, maybe afraid of the dragon that they ran into, and Kilian had decided to take him out of the cave. It was the last time he'd seen him, making him wonder if perhaps something had happened to him and his son? He really hoped not, while he didn't care for the fact that he was no longer present for Rio and Lilith he wouldn't want for something bad to of happened to him and the young one. There were so many dangers in Eowyn, as well as the rest of the world, so he couldn't help but to worry just a little.
Lifting a hand he rested it on Rio's shoulder for but a moment, though only a moment since he knew Rio wasn't exactly the hands on sort, "If either of you need anything you need only ask, I will do whatever I can to help." He was often venturing out across the world himself, still seeking the missing Tilawen even though he felt that the chances of finding her were getting slimmer. He wouldn't give up the search though he wanted also to be there in case any of his other friends, Rio and her daughter especially, needed him.
Turning to give his Khehora a glance he watched them as they watched Lil, helping to keep an eye on the girl even if either of them were approaching her at the moment. Best to let her vent her feelings on the rocks that she was kicking Junjie thought to himself, maybe when she was feeling a little better he'd see if she wanted to talk. A thought that was echoed by a little rumble from Abellio and a huff from Arjan.

Erionda's shoulders trembled at Junjies brief touch. She wasn't sure if she wanted him to remain close, or keep his distance. For the first time in a very long time, she didn't feel the need to shun his touch either. Her nose prickled with emotions as she turned her head to give Uassae a pat. Glancing back to Lanzecki who pranced along with self importance behind the group. A lead in his mouth to guide two hastar along. One of Aiskaian heritage another of Soudulian. Both mounts were required for the large horde of orbs she proposed would be collected from their trip. She always had a habit of collecting a large portion.
One of the tiny fairy dragons wiggled it's way out of the satchel on the mounts side. Erionda had to take a double look before turning to look at Lilith. Despite the pain and isolated nature she was potraying, at least there were still some odd parts of herself that shone through. Her desire to bring along a companion. Erionda blinked at the trail of thoughts. If she had the ability to bring on a Fairy dragon... maybe... just maybe she should be looking into getting her daughter a Khehora of her own.
"You're right. At least I'm still here for her. It's better than anyone has been able to do for me." She gave Junjie a half smile before turning away. Uassae's mental bond was pulling on hers. Dragging her to pay attention to something away from them.
The fairy dragon dashed for Lilith clinging to her hair she had pulled up into a pony tail. Like her mother she had insisted on growing it out, as a sign of who she was. As if part of her identity rested in her hair. Startling, Lilith gave a squeak reaching behind her to drag the flighty creature into view.

Junjie watched the little fae dragon as it squirmed its way free of its hiding spot, rushing over to where Lilith was, and he gave a smile. The little dragon might be good for her, he knew well when he was little how much love and attention that he showered upon Abellio's egg when he found it and then again when he found Arjan's egg. Those born from those eggs meant a lot to Junjie, more then he could explain, and perhaps the same could be said for Lil's little pet. It might be good for her, might help to heal her heart even if just a bit, but he supposed that only time would tell.
Their walked continued forward toward the cave before suddenly Abellio gave a littel rumbling growl, teeth barred slightly, and he trotted forward at a quicker pace, "There is a strange scent in the air, Jun." He said, sniffing at it a moment more, trying to place what the scent was. Familiar but completely foreign at the same time, as though he knew the scent to a degree but only because it was... he blinked then nodded, "Dovaa, it smells like Dovaa, Jun." He found himself instantly wondering what it was that they should do about the Dovaa that they were likely going to be coming upon shortly. It was a scent that was almost dead ahead, not something that they could avoid if they wanted to get to the cave. Was it dangerous? Was he one of the Dovaa that Junjie didn't trust? Or was that just the Dovaa's leader?
Arjan gave a little rumble before he said, "We should get the jump on the Dovaa! Let me shock him good, Junjie!" He said, teeth barred, tail lashing, seeming as though he were all for charging ahead to get the jump on... well, whoever was out there.
"I don't know about going out and attacking a stranger, we have no idea who the Dovaa might be." He told his pair of Khehora before turning to look over at Rio, "What do you think? Should we wait for the Dovaa to leave? Or approach slowly and in peace, see who it is?" If they posed any sort of danger he was sure their combined powers would surely be enough to deal with them, right? He had no doubt about that. As such they should at least try to get a look at who it was that they were dealing with, preferably before Arjan tried to take a bite out of whoever it was that was ahead of them.

Erionda watched as her daughter pealed the clinging dragon from her hair. Shaking her head she was distracted when Abellio started speaking. Uassae had also picked up on the presence of someone or something else and she stiffened at the sound of Dovaa. If it smelled of Dovaa did it smell like the other races too? It couldn't be alpha though, he was long dead burned buried and forgotten. Beta on the other hand was still out here somewhere in Eowyn, one of the main reasons she had moved away from the boiling heat. "Is it all Dovaa?" Erionda asked tentatively.
Uassae sniffed the air and turned to Erionda with a tilted head. He wasn't sure. They hadn't come across many pure Dovaa save the leader and his nose had always been infiltrated with everyone's scents at the same time. "She smells delicate probably a young one." Uassae however loved to assume everyone was female. Until proof was given otherwise weak smells were female and female alone.
Prancing forward Lanzecki shoved the reigns into Erionda's hands. "I don't care who it is! I say we attack it head on. Show it what we are made of and overpower it now before anything can happen! We aren't pushovers! Not to mention it's in our way! I want to get into that cave! There's a room in there that I can fly in and I want to fly in there. Lets stop stalling."
Before Erionda could say anything Lanzecki was rushing forward to take whatever was before them head on.

Arjan squirmed in place a moment, looking rapidly between Lanzecki and Jun, then turned to charge along after his fellow Khehora, "Wait up!" He called out, electrical energy already crackling along his skin as he charged forward with the other. He would help! He would take out the threat! He would keep Junjie safe in a way that Abellio would never even attempt he though thought to himself, eyes narrowing, wings flapping as though to help to speed him up that much more.
Watching the pair run on ahead Junjie gave a sigh, "Ahhh... well, that might end up messy." He murmured to himself, not sure exactly who it was that they were charging toward but given that he didn't want to see them hurt or see them hurt someone that wasn't after hybrid hides he supposed they should do something. Turning to look over at Rio he said, "Best that we try to keep up, just in case. If she is, ah, delicate like what Uassae says they might very well clobber her and that would give us that much worse of a reputation." Something that they really didn't need, people already loathed their kind more then enough for Junjie's liking. Arjan and Lanzecki chewing on some random stranger would just make it worse, of that he was certain.
Reaching out to where Abellio stood Junjie took his dragon headed staff off of his back, starting forward toward where the others had gone, "Come on, Abellio, we might very well need to snag the two of them if it turns out they are charging toward someone innocent." He told his fellow Ysali, not wanting to see anyone get hurt when they didn't deserve it. The world was dangerous enough without their enthusiastic friends adding to the danger that was already on hand.

Karayan crossed his arms behind his head, starring into the darkness of the cave that lay before him, and he gave a thoughtful sound, "Wonder what is in there. You will never know if you don't check it out for yourself. Is that a good idea? Probably not but you're going to do it anyone. Yeah, most likely." He said, chatting with himself as he tended to do when he got bored. Too much time alone prompted him to fall into the habit. It was a habit that had the fiery colored fae dragon on his head rolling her eyes before squirming a bit to try to get more comfortable in his dark hair. He looked up at her then back toward the darkness, "You don't seem to worried, Ember, is that consent then? Alright! We are going to go explore! A shame Madryn isn't here, I bet he'd get a kick out of something like this."
The muscular Dovaa took one step forward toward the cave when Ember was suddenly jerking upright, whirling around, and gave a little hissing sound. Giving pause Karayan looked up at her, then in the direction that she was looking, "What is it? Change your mind all of a sudden? You really aren't any... ah! What is that?" Moving a hand to shield his eyes from the sun he spotted something charging toward him, Khehora from the looks of it, and instantly he was taking a half step back, "Ah! Crud, are those ferals?" Should he fight then? Should he retreat into the cave? He couldn't really say that he knew what he should do. He'd fought upwards of three dragons on his own in the past so surely he should be able to take on two of them, right? Maybe?
Best that he prepare himself just in case he thought, dragging some of the stand to him with his magic, wrapping it around his fists, forming the glittering sand into gauntlets. From there he set to casting a spell, preparing to entangle them in the sand if they continued their forward charge. It would be weird to fight creatures like this, especially since they oft times made friends with the various races, but he couldn't very well just let them eat him now could he? It would put a serious damper on his plans, that much was certain!

The pain was already starting to poke at her temples. The stress and grief was overwhelmingly high, added to Lanzecki and Arjan's quick jump into action. Erionda wasn't sure just how much more could possibly go wrong today. The day had only just started. Groaning as Junjie spoke, not because he spoke but because of what he spoke about, she had to agree. They didn't need to go around causing enemies, especially when her child was with her.
Uassae snorted once again lifting his body into the air and surging forward. Catching Liliths gaze as he moved. "Mama where's he? Where are they?" Erionda glanced at her daughter, shocked the vow of silence for the moment had been broken. Now wasn't the time to focus on that.
Turning to Junjie Erionda nodded reaching to her belt and retrieving the sharp tooth she carried from time to time. "I agree, we shouldn't let them get out of hand. Uassae's rushing forward to make sure nothing dangerous happens." Stepping up beside Lilith Erionda shoved the sharp tooth into her hand. "You need something to fight with in there. Best you start learning."
Two sets of Dragonic wings burst from her back as Erionda rushed forward following the party towards the strange female Uassae had mentioned. Drawing closer until Karayan was in view. Her eyebrows twitching as she took him in. HIM, not a her. What in in all of Magesc was Uassae thinking. She could feel his mental laughter though the bond. Clearly feeling just as thrown off his course as Erionda was.
Catching Lanzecki by the tail before he could lay his claws into the young Dovaa. Forcing the younger Khehora to snap his head back around and dig his teeth into Uassae's shoulder. Roaring Uassae reared up clawing at Lanzecki forcing him to the ground. Snarling in his face, he was the superior Khehora of the brood and Lazecki better know it.

As Lanzecki got tackled by Uassale, as well as pinned, Arjan came to a sliding halt. He turned to watched the pair as they tussled though after a moment the smaller male was forced to give up the fight. It was something that more then confused Arjan who demanded of Uassae, "What are you doing?! We're trying to attack the enemy! What if he is a danger to Junjie! Ahh... and the others." Best that he recall that Junjie was friends with the others he reminded himself though his bonded was by far his favorite amongst them all for obvious reasons. He gave a grumble, turning to look toward the dark skinned Dovaa, barring his teeth at him, before turning back to the other Khehora. What a pain... they should be biting that guy by now! Showing him who was boss! Making sure he didn't cause any harm to those they were traveling with. Such a drag...
Abellio landed next to the others, looking them all over, before he turned toward the Dovaa that the two were ready to eat. He didn't look all that scary... and he seemed to be alone save for the tiny creature perking on his head, "Do... we have to worry too much about him?" He asked of Uassae, tail swishing from side to side. He wasn't really sure, the guy seemed to be on guard but he didn't seem as though he were going to try to kill them. So what were they supposed to do with him?
"I hope Junjie catches up soon." Abellio murmured, not really sure what it was that he should be doing exactly save for keeping Arjan from attacking just as Uassae was keeping Lanzecki from doing so.
Junjie hurried forward, staff in hand, trying to catch up with the group of Khehora that had gone ahead. He slid to a halt when they got close enough to see the Khehora were located. He looked his bonded over before looking at the Dovaa that was standing there. He looked the guy over before giving a soft sigh. Looks as though the younger pair had been stopped... good, last thing they wanted to start a brawl with the Dovaa people, "Abellio, Arjan, come here. We aren't' fighting with him!" He called to his bonded. An order that Abellio looked relieved over though caused Arjan to look a little miffed.

Karayan starred at the group that seemed to be getting bigger and bigger, tilting his head to one side, looking more then a bit confused. What was going on...? He felt as though he had missed something. What a strange group, "They seems a little odd, huh?" He whispered to Ember, watching the group of feral Khehora as they argued about who what was gonna do what and who wanted to do what. Seemed they were split down the middle about what it was that they should be doing at this point. Two of them wanted to attack, two wanted to stop those first from attacking, and Karayan found himself routing for the bigger pair of Khehora.
It wasn't long before others were arriving, those who were more like Karayan himself. A woman with pink hair, a Dovaa from the looks of her, and a strong one at that since she had wings, and then... well, he wasn't sure. The guy looked like a Dovaa but he had feathery wings as well as scaly ones and the little girl was... well, she was a rather colorful sort, wasn't she? The Gaili tilted his head to the other side, sizing her up, trying to figure out what she was, before turning his attention back to the taller pair. They seemed to know the four Khehora that were debating over what it was that they should do with him. As such he supposed that he should probably talk with all of them as well, huh?
Lifting a hand up, waving it at them, "Ahhh... if I could ask you to consider not letting them eat me, please?" He asked of them, giving a bit of a smile. He really did hope that they would listen to him, maybe they would be able to talk the others that were so for eating him. He did have other things he'd rather do, like going on living, that sounded good to him. This had to be the strangest sort of situation he'd ever encountered... especially given all of the other strange situations that he'd gotten into in the past. He could only hope that the group would give him a chance... though he supposed if they voted on the plan to attack he would just have to make his escape using his magic.

Lanzecki wanted to break free from under Uassae but the older Khehora had proven time and time again that he was above him in rank. He had the power of a leader, and could easily overpower him when it was required. He reached out mentally for Erionda only to get a confirmation of the same feelings. He huffed indignantly at Uassae. A snarl etched from his throat as he moved to pull himself free, caving under the repressions to hold back from attacking.
Snarling at Lanzecki to make sure he stayed in place Uassae's attention then turned to Arjan. "You're less concerned about protecting Junjie than you are about tearing your claws into something that shreds easily. Do you really think that fragile flower is going to be a match for either Hybrid? Cool your temper Arjan! Jumping into the frey will cause harm to Junjie." Moving closer to the electric Khehora, Uassae held his head high. "Think before you act both of you!"
With a glance to the side as Abellio joined the scene he yawned. The Ysali was level headed in his opinion and didn't require as much guidance Junjie had done well raising this one. Regarding his question lightly Uassae looked over the Dovaa. "I'm not sure if your mocking my sniffer or not. But it's still a pansy, Rio could freeze him just by looking his way. I doubt there will be any trouble.
Lilith kept her arms crossed over her chest as she was the last to arrive with the group. She didn't like running but at least the Hastar had been able to keep up with her mother. Pushing off the creatures back she landed on the ground a bit to stiffly, her knees hurt from the impact. It was hard to adjust to the lack of snow on Eowyn even if there was sand. She didn't like the way the Dovaa looked at her. Before her mother could say anything she passed by her and the Khehora with quick purposeful strides.
Erionda watched as Lilith's fists clenched into balls and the determination in her footsteps. "For the sake of Abranaxus" She cursed, "She's me all over again." Moving quickly she took hold of her daughters hand. "If you think you're going to do, what I think you-"
"He looked at me funny. Like I was-"
"I don't care about that," Erionda cut off her daughter. "You don't just go around punching things in the face."
"You do it all the time! You should have done it to Dad before he left!" Prying herself free of Erionda's grasp she bolted back towards the Hastar.
Erionda rolled her multi colored eyes. Pressing her index finger into her temple. Her eyes flashing with magic as the Dovaa spoke. He best watch what he was saying right now. Her patience was thinning out. "I don't control my bonded Khehora kid. They may do as they please, they aren't slaves." Giving the Dovaa a once over glance she locked eyes with Uassae.
As if some conversation had passed between them both Khehora and Hybrid moved into the cave. She was in no mood for childish games, she was here to kill dragons and search for clues.

Arjan barred his teeth at Uassae and gave a snarling sound, "If sinking my claws into something that shreds easily is what I have to do then I will do it! I won't be some fluff ball like Abellio!" Finding it hard to believe that Uassae thought that Dovaa before them to be a 'fragile flower'. Just look at the size of him! He's more muscular then Junjie was! He looked like he could probably life the Ysali over his head! Something that he wouldn't allow, damn it! Growling to himself, muttering about 'stupid old men' he stalked over to where Junjie was standing, sitting down next to him, and did his best to stare daggers at the weird looking Dovaa. He didn't like him, whoever he was, and fragile or not he wouldn't let him even talk to Junjie!
Looking down at the Kiandri Junjie gave a soft sigh, scratching him lightly under the chin, before looking at Uassae and mouth the words, 'I'm sorry about him' to the older Khehora, not wanting for Uassae to think for a moment that he approved of Arjan being so headstrong. It's just how he'd always been and it was a little difficult at times to try to rein him in. Unlike Abellio who was... well, a bit of a fluff ball as Arjan had said.
Turning to look over at Rio he winced slightly as Lilith seemed to be all ready to take on the Dovaa on her own, wanting to punch him it would appear. There was a slight argument between the pair of them before Lil went back to standing with the hastar, probably a good thing just in case the Gaili turned out to be dangerous, not that the guy really gave off such a vibe. If anything he just seemed confused over what was going on. After Rio snapped at the Gaili and headed into the cave Junjie was quick to follow along after her, Arjan and Abellio flanking him once more. He gave the Gaili a once over as he passed him but really didn't say anything, not wanting to lose sight of Rio who seemed to be in quite the rush now to get inside and get things started.
"Best that we see about getting some battles in this time." He said to his Kheora, knowing that the last time things had been cut short because Casseth hadn't been feeling well. Since the youngest with them this time was Lil, and she seemed pretty eager to fight as well, perhaps they would get a bit further along.
