But what most forget is that love isn't just for those who are happy to have it. There are the scorned and forgotten out there who know that love can be as harsh as the sharpest scythe, who believe love is not an emotion but a curse, even a weakness. Even those who have found their partner have problems to overcome together, because love is not like the scarytales say: it isn't perfectly tied up with a bow.
This year the Student Council has decided to celebrate all sides of Scarentines: the passionate and the peaceful, the sorrowed and the scorned, the curious and the close-minded. Those who struggle to understand and those who long for someone to call their own, and even those who could not care less either way.
Love is a battlefield. You only fight for who you believe is worth it.

xxxx This clever date spot is actually the in-ground pool! Half of the pool remains covered and safe to walk on, and is decorated with lengths of twisted fabric to suggest a lovely sandy beach. Take a seat at one of the few beach tables, or go swimming and enjoy the moonlight and a sky full of stars!*
* disclaimer: moonlight seen from the beach is merely a dimmed lightblub. stars are glow-in-the-dark stickers on the ceiling. 'the beach' is also life-guarded by a gnome in a red speedo and pink wings.
Locker / Changing Rooms
xxxx While you won't find the lockers on the 'hot spots' for dates, it is worth a mention; if you'd like to go swimming or attempt the obstacle course, but don't want to mess up your outfit, this is the spot for you! If you didn't bring a change of clothes, school-sanctioned gym uniforms have been provided in several sizes. Your belongings will also be taken care of and guarded, so you don't have to worry about theft while you play! Gym (Outside) Outdoor Arena / Dance Floor
xxxx For those who enjoy the faster paced side of things, this is the spot for you! The Outdoor Arena is actually the focal point of the whole venue - This is where the band plays, the dance floor has been laid out, and where you'll find all the food you'll need!
Walkways / Picnic areas
xxxx The only important thing to note about the walkways are the various picnic tables or blankets that are disbursed in no particular pattern. Pick a spot by the obstacle course, and watch your fellow students struggle! Pick a spot near "the beach" and get a somewhat blocked view of the make-shift date spot, or just pick a spot outside of the Arena to listen to the music without watching people dance. It's up to you.
The Petting Zoo
xxxx Tucked near the outdoor arena is the dating spot for those who simply love minipets. It's unique though, in that the minipets in the zoo are your own pets! Follow this link to find out more!
Obstacle Course

The pink lights above the stage had dimmed and a hush had fallen over the crowd of gathered students and guests alike, all waiting for the unveiling of who will be performing for this year's Scarentine's Day Event. Many wondered if it would be another school band, or perhaps a certain gryphon would be making his third appearance for this particular Student Council's events? He was certainly well received on previous occasions!
In the darkness that shrouded the stage, shadowy figures could barely be seen as they made their way into position, hefting guitars and drum sticks. Quiet, curious murmurings of the crowd accompanied the movements as many watched, straining their eyes, leaning forward to try and make out just who it might be....
A signal was given, and suddenly, the lights flashed back to life, magnificent hues of pink and red lifting and illuminating the stage, as well as the three who were posed upon it, and the symbol, a vivid, blood splattered heart, painted on the front of the drum set to denote exactly who was playing before it was even announced. (Click the image to see it full sized!) "AMITYVILLE ACADEMY!" The voice of the lead singer rang out through the mic and across the grounds, one scaled hand clutching his guitar as another rose in the air as he leaned forward. "We are Hearts. Will. Bleeeeeed!" At this point he paused for affect, waiting for the applause, cheers, and screams of all the ghouls, who were so excited they could just die, to peter out.
"And we are here to rock your school with songs to put you in the moooood~" Drawing out that last word, there was much eye brow waggling as his hand came down, a sharply clawed finger sweeping across the room to point at all the ladies, before he stopped, and grabbed the mic, pulling it in closer for him to shout.
"THE MOOD TO ROCK OUT, TO MAKE LOVE, OR MAYBE FOR ALL YOU ANTI-SCARENTINE'S DAY HATERS OUT THERE, THE MOOD TO GET INTO A FIGHT! YEEEAAAAHHH!!"
At this point the werewolf with the bass guitar leaned foward to howl into his own microphone, the combination of the two practically deafening to a crowd that once again erupted into cheers.
Another wait was required for the crowd to calm before he spoke again.
"But let's start things off nice and slow, and smoooooth. We can get into all that vindictive, heartbreaking, one-night-stand, horrible, end it all affair stuff later." A vicious grin combined with a wink as he began plucking at the strings of his guitar.
And then the music began, just as a certain Student Council PR stared aghast at the stage and wondered at just who he had ordered to play for this event.

"ARE YOU DONE YET?!" Someone called; she wasn't sure who. From a distance - and from her lack of actually listening - all four of her male team mates sounded the same. She paid them no mind at first and continued to focus on what she was doing: namely, taping several hundred little hearts and cards to the wall, each bearing the name of a student.
The patchwork ghoul smoothed her backward hands over the very last one - an unfortunately grey one, which tugged at her dead heart strings - and took a step back to admire her work. Whoever it was called again, and this time she turned to head back to the gym's entrance, hiding the tape and scissors she had been using under a picnic blanket. It'd be a fun surprise for someone later, she was sure.
Amrita stood at the entrance to the Gym with a genuine smile on her lips, to begin greeting those who came to the dance.
"Welcome, and a very Happy Scarentines~!"

Trisha was apparently early, things were yet to get really started. But here she was dressed in one of her new dresses and ready to go. It was Scaratines, but she hadn't been at the school long enough to get into a steady relationship, but she didn't care. She was here to have fun. Besides surely some of her friends would be there somewhere right?
Trisha started to slowly look around nibbling on one of her leaves.

The feathered ghoul spotted the demon from a mile away, and was trying to make her way to her, arms and feathers flailing about, possibly hitting other students who were too close.
After that mini battlefield in itself, she finally made it to the other ghoul, panting slightly.
"Trish- oh! I like your outfit. I haven't seen you in forever." Which really meant a few days or weeks at most but really, it felt like forever.

It was hard to see Hel at first, as her torso and face were obscured by a ridiculously huge sized bouquet of wilting dark red peonies. This bouquet was so big, it required the use of both of her arms to carry, and the reaper’s head could be seen poking around it every now and then just to make sure she was heading in the right direction. That direction was a beeline right to Amrita. The valkyrie stopped in front of the undead, and lowered the bouquet a bit to revealing her grinning face. “Happy Scarentines, Amrita!” Hel called all happily. “You look dreadfully gorgeous!” She then presented the ridiculously sized bouquet to her. “These are for you!” Then there was clearly a smile on her face that said she was up to something.

He'd emptied his dorm, and was staying with Hel in her cabin until he found a place of his own. Yet, here he was, back in the familiar air of Amity. Hel seemed to be.. wooing, Amrita? Well that was swell of her! That ghoul works so hard, after all. She deserves a bouquet! "Hello, Amrita! You look lovely." Mot smiled warmly with a chuckle.

The patchwork turned to greet the next person coming through the doors, and immediately paused. It was a walking bouquet.
"...Oh no." Amrita groaned to herself, obviously slouching. It was Hel. Who else could it be? She had no energy for th--- Hel's appeared from the top of the bouquet and Amrita startled, immediately standing straight and proper, a smile plastered on her lips.
"You too, Hel! Er-- Thank you, you look horribly dashing yourself." Men's clothing suited her, but somehow that wasn't a surprise. What was a surprise though, was the massive bouquet that was being presented to her, specifically. "Oh. Well. That's...very nice of you." She stood there for a moment, dumbfounded, before holding out her arms to accept the strange, out of the blue-gift.
"But, uhm, why?" Yes, she was very suspicious, and even shot Mot a pleading glance, as if hoping he'd have the answers for her. She passed it off with another smile at the Grim Reaper. "And you look devilishly charming! You should totally go sign up for speed dating. It'll be fun to watch the ghouls swoon."

Hel beamed wider once Amrita took the bouquet, and the planted her fists on her hips, but then nudged Mot in the ribs with an elbow. “I look lovely too, right?” She then grinned, evilly at that, before turning back to Amrita. “Hey, thanks!” At the question of ‘why’ though, Hel just kept grinning. “Because ghouls deserve to feel special on Scarentines~!” She then snorted as Amrita told Mot to go check on speed dating. “Ya, please. I would love to see that…and you gotta dance with me later at least once!” She then pointed a finger at Amrita. “I am taking you dancing at least three times.”

Mot shrugged in an animated fashion. There was nothing he could do about Hel, Amrita. Sorry! "Of course, Hel. As lovely as always." He gave up the notion that ghouls had to wear dresses at events. He'd learned. It took years, but he learned. Even if the ghoul did show off her bosom much too often... Mot blushed and smiled shyly, rubbing his neck at Amrita's compliment. "Shucks, Amrita. You're too kind." Speed dating? He chuckled lightly, waving a hand. "Aha.. You think so, huh? I am not sure that is my thing..." He had no reason to say no, though... Maybe if it was all in good fun. He nodded to Hel. Of course she'd get a dance. It was mandatory.
