Name: BarAmal
Nickname: Bar, Berry
Species: Shifter/Leaf halfling
Gender: Male
Stage : Stage 2
Preference: N/A
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 185 lbs
Aspirations : He is dedicated to becoming a great archer like his mother but enjoys hearing stories and can be distracted from his training if a good story teller is in town.
Personality: BarAmal is a nice enough guy to talk to but once he makes up his mind it’s hard to change it without a lot of evidence to shift his view. He tends to be gentler around women but this leads him to come off as either a gentleman or a pompous busybody depending on how the woman minds his treating her. He tends to be skeptical of a situation that seems to easy or friendly thinking that there has to be a catch somewhere.
Determination – When he makes up his mind on a matter it’s very hard to change it for example if he was told that he could no longer be an archer he would spend every waking moment he had trying to improve himself and make himself able to follow in his mother’s footsteps. If he lost a limb or something so detrimental he could longer be an archer he would break and simply shut down likely doing something stupid to try and put himself out of his misery. If he found a person who he thought he might be able to fall in love with he would very likely follow them across all the nations in the hopes of winning their heart. Persistence to him is a virtue not a sin. If that other person found someone else they loved he would give up, but he would not just leave their life. He would still be their friend and try to help them if he could. This is both a good and bad thing because it can make him quite annoying/bullheaded/foolish at times, but it also means if he wants to help someone there are few forces short of death and crippling that will stop him.
Mindful- He was raised to treat women with respect, but he is mindful of the old, young, sick, hurt and meek as well. He will take the time to listen to help him make up his mind on matters. Once he does its set in stone, but it takes a bit to get there. He loves to listen to stories other have to tell him and so generally if they are a story teller gender doesn’t matter. He does tend to be a bit less lenient toward men who conduct themselves as warriors though, or those who are fit and bold enough to be but just waste time doing nothing. Dealing with such individuals he is more dismissive and can be flat out rude if they rub him the wrong way.
Skeptical- Much of the time he looks at things with a grain of salt. If someone came up and offered him a free pet he would wonder if this pet bites, urinates on everything, or has some contagion and will die in the next few days. Meeting a strong willed woman tends to make him a bit skeptical as well, because he mother was strong yet he knew for a fact that she loved to be pampered so if said strong willed woman yelled at him for taking care of her he would shake his head, say he’s sorry, then keep right on pampering her. He will be mindful of her wishes and try to be a bit less showy about pampering her and try to be polite no matter how much she yells but in his head he’s just nodding sure, sure whatever. <- please note this is not voiced but he might roll his eyes. Also the stories he loves to hear so much can also elicit the same reaction. He will roll his eyes and grin enjoying the story but part of his brain will be going ‘yeah right buddy tell me another.’

BarAmal’s story all started with a hunt. A shifter traveling through Tale nearly ended up the target of his mother’s arrow. On this day the gods were kind and a swaying branch stopped her arrow and saved the shifter’s life. Alerted to being seen he did the unthinkable. He waved and called out for BarAmal’s mother to join him for a meal. Leery she did so and thus BarAmal’s parents met one another. It wasn’t long after that meeting that BarAmal was born. The rest of his mothers’ community in Isd did not share her affection for the shifter. They tolerated BarAmal’s father because the shifter worked hard to help others and respected their ways. BarAmal grew watching his mother hunt while his father helped to raise the young. His father was a teller of stories, though none BarAmal loved more than that of his parents meeting. To hear his father tell it was an adventure while his mother scoffed and said it was a god having a joke with her that ended well for all, though she always said it with a soft smile and a hug for both BarAmal and his father.
BarAmal is used to traversing the sparse trees he has available to him. He is also used to the harder ground compared to the rest of Tale having grown up in Isd. Willing to work hard he commits himself to his training to follow in his mother's footsteps as an archer. Hearing stories is wonderful to him, but being able to feed one's family seems much more practical. In honor of his choice his mother gave him her old bow which had been her father's before it was passed to her. This is BarAmal's treasure. While his aim is not yet as steady as his mother's he intends for it to be even better than her's in time.
BarAmal answered the call to the camps when the obans invaded Tale. He found himself on the front lines and while he was damaged quite a bit he was alive when the call came to retreat. He fled back to his home and then eventually gathered the will to travel to Sauti. Still the rumors of war and violence did not leave. Following the call once more he found himself in Jauhar helping a shifter. This aid came at the cost of a promise that lead BarAmal to trouble. Captured he was taken to the oban camps. There his impetus attitude cost him once more. A girl he hardly knew was taken by obans who knew no honor and BarAmal blamed himself for this. Inside he was a mess at this point of broken promises and pain. Injured but freed he found himself on the lines of battle against the obans not certain if he even wanted to survive this time. How many more will suffer that know him?
