Welcome! This is hopefully your first stop.
These should be very simple and self-explanatory, however if you have ANY questions either PM me or post them here, I will answer ASAP.
If you break the rules you'll be given a simple warning and directed here. If you keep breaking these rules you'll be banned from the guild. Most of the time you will be given the benefit of the doubt and allowed the opportunity to correct the mistakes.
The only exception is if you are actively participating in any form of hate or rude commentary. Please, if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all.
For any conflicts you have with fellow guild members please contact a mod and allow us to handle it.

Conduct rules Play nice. Lets keep harmony in the kingdom! o1. Please be kind and courteous to others! Keep this drama free. o2. Cursing in general is fine, do not curse AT someone. o3. In the same regard do not insult others. And there is a zero-tolerance policy for any sort of discrimination or hate! o4. Blacklisting from the guild are handled on a case by case basis, depending on the severity of how you broke the rules you may be let off with a warning, or a sudden ban. The reason why will always be clearly stated. o5. Allow conflicts to be handled by the mods. Do not take "correcting" someone upon yourself, message a mod and allow them to step in! o6. Put threads in their appropriate locations. Ponyville RP in ponyville, ponyville disuccion in ooc, ponyville shop in market etc. o7. Be respectful of other's creations, do not provide unwanted "constructive criticism" -- you're allowed to have your own opinions, but you are not allowed to start conflicts by sharing them without permission. o8. Remember this is a PG13 roleplay and guild. MLP has both the advantage and the disadvantage of catering to a very wide fanbase and age, please be respectful of all members ages! o9. No stealing! Ideas, characters, art, banners, anything that's not yours! The only exception is to out-link to someone and say "I like the way they did ___", but do not simply say "Like this". c: Lets be Honest, Kind, Generous, Loyal, and keep Laughing!

Roleplay guidelines And the final element of harmony; magic o1. First and foremost do not godmod. This means having "god like" traits and abilities. Every action has a reaction, and every benefit should have a cost. o2. Allow other players to respond to your posts, do not roleplay other people's characters! Bad: Your character is sick with the feather flu and coughs, now the other pony is sick! Good: Your character is sick with the feather flu and coughs, the other RPer decides to have their character catch the sickness as well. o3. Do not do something drastic without the other players permission. Severe injuries, deaths, anything that would drastically alter the other player's character. o4. While you're welcome to agree to a "relaxed" roleplay I do suggest being semi-lit for all RP. "Pinkiepie: *sits* Hi!" can be "Pinkiepie sits down. "Hi!" o5. Character deaths are allowed, but they will be permanent. There is no getting that character back once deceased! o6. Real life comes first. Let people know when you're not going to be around out of courtesy, but no need to fret over what'll happen to your pony if you go on hiatus. You will not be kicked out, there are no activity checks.
Because roleplay is MAGIC!

Character guidelines o1. Naming: characters should fit in the general "MLP" naming concept. Remember, the mane 6 are named Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and Twilight sparkle. These are good examples of the general naming scheme! Names should relate to their special talent, even if they don't know it yet. (as per canon plot-hole) o2. Cutiemark: once you know your special skill you should come up with a cutiemark to represent it. These images should be simplistic but symbolic of the nature of the skill. If you can't think of what to represent it feel free to ask around for ideas. o3. Ponykind: Currently there are 3 kinds of ponies available to the general RPers: earth ponies, unicorns, and pegusi. There are more presented in canon but are not available until later! Once we have a good number of people they were be available on a slot basis to keep the numbers low and these ponykind rare. Alicorns will be specifically reserved for princesses and at current there are no new princesses allowed. 04. Coloration: Ponies can be any color you want, there are no limits. We're also going to be allowing markings. I suggest keeping markings in line with typical horse markings. But animal prints are also allowed. In some cases you may use other prints and patterns, but it may look a little odd if your pony is covered head to toe in, for example, fleur de lis. o5. Behavior: Ponies are as unique and as flawed as people are. As such you're free to run wild with this, however please understand the nature of behavior in general. Ponies' personalities, like people, are born of a mixture of nature and nurture. Avoid 2D personalities, misuse of mental-illness, and overly offensive characters. If there are "flaws" in their personality feel free to provide them with opportunities to learn and improve through the magic of friendship, as per the show's general theme! o6. Backgrounds: Remember equestria isn't known for its war and violence. There really aren't a lot of opportunities for orphans or overly dark and distraught pasts. Of course there are some, so if you do it right it won't be a problem. Bad: "both my parents were murdered infront of me! I've been living on my own ever since" Good: "My single parent mother passed away from illness and my aunt took me in" That said you're encouraged to come up with elaborate backgrounds, or create them as you go. If you're playing a foal you'll need to know a bit about their parents background, and if you're an adult you'll have a family, a school life, old friends, and current residences. 07. Family: We definitely want to avoid being related to "mane characters"-- the only exception being a part of Applejack's distant family. (ie, a cousin not a sister) because of the massive family gene pool. You may NOT be related to royalty, while there may be some far off distant relative its not generally recommended, and it should be far enough that its not usually worth mentioning. Ponies CAN have different types of ponies(earth pony giving birth to a unicorn), as per baby cakes, by having interbred lineages. Families typically have special talents relative to one another, which follows along with hints of genetic inheritance. 08.Unicorn Magic: magic tends to vary between unicorns. Somepony like twilight has a very broad range of magical skills, but its shown to have taken a LOT of study to acquire. Other ponies like Trixie specialize in a more showy magic, typical with the real-life magic counterparts. Other unicorns such a Rarity have a magic that is inherent and directly related to their special talent(she can find rare gems). All unicorns have basic magic, which is shown as being able to levitate and manipulate objects. o9. Special Talent: this should be fairly basic. Choose something your pony enjoys and go from there! Every talent should be unique but also functional, and thus relating directly to a career path and in turn something that "gives back" to the world of equestria. You can work that in however you want! You can have a gamer pony that betas games or a doctor pony who does surgery. Please do not directly yoink traits from the Mane 6. No "she likes animals like fluttershy" your character's interests should speak for themselves, and "she likes animals" is just fine all by itself.

F.A.Q. Q: I'm new and I'm lost!!Q: How do I join?A: Request membership with the guild, and then get your character (or characters) approved here. Q: Where is ___ town?Q: There's something I don't see here, and I want you to add it.Q: How do I find RP?A: Either join an Open RP (ORP) or post an OOC thread looking for RP here. Q: How do I sell something MLP related?Q: How do I sell something not MLP related?A: Try gaia's regular forums! But that doesn't belong here c: Q: Can I sell my MLP merchandise?A: Naw, try Ebay or amazon. However you can look to buy specific merchandise in the OOC area, and if someone is looking you're allowed to answer them.. Q: How do I know what's going on in the guild?Q: How do ponies do ___?Q: How many characters can I have?A: As many as you want but they all must be approved. Q: Can I have one of the background ponies as my OC?A: Preferably not! Avoid using names and colors of official ponies either in background or in merchandising. But I won't be checking every single name to every color. If you make something up and it happens to be "in use" don't sweat it, it'll be very unlikely that you have both a name and a color scheme. Q: I have a "dark pony" am I still allowed?A: Of course, you're welcome to all creative liberties so long as your ideas are clear, thought out, an well-researched! Don't be dark just to be dark. Q: But I'm applejack's twin sister! Why can't I say thatA: This is not the guild you are looking for. Q: I want to have R rated RPs :cA: In conduct with gaia's ToS this is not allowed. I'm aware some guilds provide R rated sub-forums but we will not be doing that. Furthermore do not explicitly solicit players for R-rated RPs because they may be underage. However! you're welcome to RP offsite and discuss whatever you want outside of this guild. Q: What is the currency in Equestria?A: The currency is defined as "bits" -- you are welcome to have as many bits as you want IC, but for market purchases please only use bits you've earned. I typically think of bits as 3 dollars American currency. (1 bit for the tomato, 2 bits is too much.) Q: How do I earn bits?A: You can earn them by selling your own products and by Roleplaying. 1 bit for every 100words. Q: Why would I sell my art/other merchandise for bits?A: You certainly don't have to. This is kind of more of a "freebie" or "fair trade" work (Someone bought my art with bits so I'll buy your art with bits) and to encourages roleplay amongst members. I will be offering work for bits, but no one is obligated to! Q: My pony is CRAZY! A: No, stop. Mental disorders are not a joke, they are not "quirky lol" and seriously if I see any "LOL schizophrenic my character has sooo many personalities!" sort of attitudes it will be an insta-ban. Not only is this incorrect for the symptom of multiple personalities, but its making light of a very serious matter. However you are completely free to add in well-researched mental disorders, just be respectful. Q: My pony is (insert various offensive comment)A: Again no! A variety of things can be said here including sexual orientation, gender, race, class, age. Pretty much anything that may have an "ism" at the end; don't. For an example "My pony is such a f**/dyke" is inappropriate, regardless of your orientation or theirs. Try to avoid offensive comments, even if they don't offend you personally! Many people have come to associate these words with bad situations and are certainly not coming to a fictional verse about ponies to relive those traumas. Q: Dang you're really uptight about this, no one's even done anything, chill.A: My strict guidelines are not to discourage people from RPing or exploring particular subjects, but to reiterate that (most of us) are strangers here and do not know the other player's intents. Its better to have a lot of rules than a lot of hurt people. Q: I've have had bad experiences with the above bullying/offensive scenarios, and I want to make a character that starts off being offensive and learns how to change.A: This is allowed but be very clear and respectful upfront and allow fellow players to know this is your intended purpose! RPing a "bad" behavior is alright so long as you make it clear you know it is "bad" -- we're not here to solely make conflict free supper fluffy bunny RPs. Protagonists ARE allowed. The rules are only here to keep players from rude comments, not characters, and to remind people that your RP partner may not understand that your RP is not personal opinion. Q:What about ponies outside of equestria?A: Yes you are totally welcome to this. Thus far we have Trottingham and Saddle Arabia. If you come up with a good name for a city outside of equestria (and thus a play off of something outside of the US) please pop into the suggestions thread so we can add it in! Either your pony can be an immigrant or have ponies in their family who are. Q:What about villains?A: Thus far, like princesses villains are not allowed to the standard RPer. However if you have a plot idea and would like to lead in some plotlines, you may ask to become a part of the crew and present the characters and plotline you had in mind. Q:Why are the "event" threads locked?A: They're locked because they're not going on right now! Events will open at set dates and close later, how long its open will depend on the nature of the event. Events will be announced in guild announcements c: Q: Can I have a "ponified" fan character?A: No crossover ponies! They're fun but just not for this guild, to keep it simple! c:

Posting quick-tips o1. Do I want to RP in an open setting or a private setting? If you're looking for a random, free-for-all RP create an ORP. If you're looking for a personal, one-on-one RP go for a PRP. o2. If open, do I want to have it in an existing open thread or make my own? There are two options, either you can start posting in the existing stickies in the subforums, or you can create your own setting by making your own forum. Open RPs are whimsical and free to change depending on who enters them and who leaves. o3. If private, who am I RPing with?If you're doing a PRP you'll want to clarify who the RP is between. PRPs are usually goal-oriented, either having two characters meet, accomplish a task, or otherwise. o4. Where do I find an RP partner?Talk with people in Discord's lair and find someone who wants to start an RP, or browse the stables and find a character you think would be good for a RP and contact the owner via whatever means they request to be contacted by. o5. How do I know which subforum to put it under? If you're RPing in a specific location (such as sugarcube corner), this should be put in its respective subforum (ponyville), however if you're creating a new setting (Say a forest) then take a look at the map and find an appropriate geographical area. Say you wanted a lush tropical rainforest, you wouldn't put it in appleoosa which is primarily desert. o6. What should my title include?Your title should include the type of roleplay, a title, and the specific characters involved. ex1: [PRP] Sweet tooth (Pinkiepie/Rarity) ex2: [ORP] A race in cloudsdale (Rainbowdash/Anypony) o7. How do I know when a roleplay is over?Typically you should RP until the topic starts "dying down"-- meaning your posts are no longer generating any new actions. At this point you can ask "((Want to wrap soon?))" and if yes you can close off the RP with a finishing post and rename the thread "[FIN] title (pony/pony)". If someone doesn't want to wrap they can then say "I was thinking they might do __ before we do" so that both RPers can work towards that. o8. Can I roleplay in a RRP (restricted roleplay)? If you meet the requirements for the RRP (which will be in the first post) then you may. ex: A blankflank filly may join in the cutiemark crusaders clubhouse, a mare with her cutiemark may not unless invited by a crusader. (Like many of the mane cast were to explain how they got their cutie mark)
