Name: Jameson Selby
Pronunciation: JAIM-uh-son
Nicknames: Jaime, ...
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Height: 6' 0"

Magic: Water
Occupation: Noble (poet, composer)
Home: The Selby estate in Arkenvale

Physical Description: A young man broad of shoulder, but lean and with somewhat exotic, aquiline features. His skin is a tan olive tone, and his eyes and hair are both the darkest brown. He prefers to keep his hair somewhat long, revealing a bit of natural curl. His build is a bit more thin than his brother's.

Personality: Jameson is more noble than his brother, at least from an outside perspective. He is a more introverted type, often found in his study surrounded by papers. He doesn't often go out to mingle, but when he does it is with those of his own class. He dare not attract the same scorn as his brother and wander outside those lines. His own family are his greatest companions.

History: The twins were born with silver spoons in their mouths. They were the delight of the family, though with two little boys came twice the trouble. Daniel and Jameson grew with every delight that wealth could offer and were never left wanting. Childhood was a bright adventure devoid of the worries other families faced in the less wealthy portion of town. There was never a distaste for the lower classes, but simply a working relationship with the rest of the world that they were bound to inherit. Both boys showed creative desires and great curiosity for the world around them, and boarding school was a welcome experience. It was here that the twins diverged. Jameson spent most of his free time writing furiously at his desk, and Daniel spent it doing... well, something else. Jameson isn't telling, although he certainly knows considering the time they spent playing music together. In the end, the boys returned with new outlooks on life. At their current age, their family's concern is upon which twin will inherit the estate. Three minutes certainly isn't enough to judge upon age, if you ask Daniel. Jameson reiterates that neither of their professions is any more or less legitimate, nor the way they conduct themselves. This is a new, modern world, after all!
Family:
Parents: Phillip Selby x Yasha Selby nee Dinuess
Twin brother: Daniel Selby

Name: Boghur
Gender: Female
Magic: Earth

Appearance: A Carolina wren-inspired design of browns and tans with some darker stripes.
Personality: Boghur enjoys the outdoors, but only in the spring and summer months. During winter he loses his bright energy and prefers to stay indoors. He is very vocal and enjoys wandering, but is somewhat aloof when it comes to strangers, perhaps even wary. Then again, he is a hound fond of harmless little pranks. At least, they're usually harmless. Sometimes Jameson wonders if there isn't something darker behind his carefree facade.

The Summoning: It would have been impossible for the tolling to happen to one twin without the other hearing about it. There's no saying who began to hear it first, but one balmy evening stirred a conversation about the constant ringing. Neither was sure what was going on, and they didn't share when the curiosity became too great.

Imagine the Selbys' surprise when neither son could be found one morning, replaced by the breeze blowing through one window and the creeping silence behind a door left ajar.

Jameson had crawled down the tree just outside his room and began to follow the sound east. He paused at the mouth of a tunnel, remembering the stories and legends grown from such places. He and his brother had explored several of these hovels as children, but there seemed to be something more menacing now. It almost felt as if a wind was blowing against his face...

Curiosity won out. The young man traveled for over an hour into the earth, pausing every so often to question his decision. He should have waited. He should have gone to retrieve Daniel before leaving. That tantalizing ringing kept leading him on.

There was only a brief moment of consciousness before the whisper invaded his mind. He was receptive to it, open and welcoming. He awakened with ink-stained fingers, not unusual for him, but there was a presence in the room. He could feel it... moving.

"Why have I come here?" the man asked.

The voice responded simply. 'You called to me.'

Jameson peered around the room. Some things seemed ruffled, moved around, and there was a cauldron bubbling. Perhaps he had called to this entity, but while under some sort of spell. He turned slowly, trying to find the source.

"What do we do?"

The creature audibly shifted, or was it more of a feeling on the air? A sense a man could not explain?

'I sacrifice great energy and power to come with you to the human world. I may act as protector, I may act as companion...' This sounded familiar to the man... could it really be?

"And I?"

Certainly there was something else... a vow of blood?

'Some may find it appropriate to offer something in return.'

A sacrifice? It would benefit him to not begin with the obvious choices; his soul, his faculties, his free will.

"My family is wealthy. I can offer you nearly every pleasure allowed to man."

'I know not what man has to offer.'

Jameson paused. His eyes searched the floor.

"Music. Song. I can offer words. Have you ever seen the green of the trees on a spring day? A bird's footprints in the snow? The beauty of the blue sky? Or the stars?"

There came a long pause, and Jameson wondered if he had lost the entire ordeal for himself. It was then that the wall yawned open into a terrifying expanse. From it leaped a tiny dog, or not quite a dog, and Jameson's suspicions were confirmed... probably. He knelt to pet the beast, and it gently sniffed at his hand.

When he returned home, his brother was nowhere to be seen, and his mother was in a panic.

That was nearly a year ago now.
