Mella is calm and collected much of the time. She dislikes seeing others hurt even if they aren’t close to her specifically. If she feels an edge of panic at all she will take the time to calm herself rather than risk making the situation worse. Gentle and caring she could have been a healer if she could stomach the pain and injury of others so she likes to try to help in other ways when she can. To her the world is breathing and beautiful more than she can find the words to express and she doesn’t understand why others cannot see that. She is very sensible and fairly good at taking care of herself in her homeland of Sauti.
Growing up in the settlement of Mez, Mella’s earliest memories are of the golden hues of the air and the smell of the earth and timber that are collected by those around her. She loved the idea of making things even then. Perhaps it was from the warmth she saw with her parents as they gathered timber and told the king s of things that they would best make. Fond of nature Mella began to try and see what every rock and branch could become. As wonderful as building homes and trading with Tinerr seemed was it didn’t really fulfill her mind as much as her parents seemed to hope so she is seeking something more in her life. While having no experience she is trying to capture and share the beauty of what she sees with others. She began to spend long periods of time sitting and viewing the land as the sun rose and set in the sky trying to see how shadows affected the look of things. Others began to think her strange but Mella never minded it for her good nature made most simply shrug it off as and eccentricity of hers. She began to pain what she sees and uses berries and ground lilies for her paint. She dreams that in time she will be able to share the world as she sees it with those around her but knows she needs a lot more experience before that can happen.
Now that she is old enough to travel more and see the world she has asked her parents to be allowed to travel and with reluctance they agreed. This has led to Mella traveling along the Sauti and Zenna boarder honing her craft and trying to better her skills. She met many new friends during her travels like the tamer to be Kiyelt or her strange and happy friend Nuawahn and his companion.
Through trial and tribulation Mella has become something of an artist. When the call for war knocked she headed down to help in the camps in southern Tale and Jauhar regions. There she saw firsthand the horrors that war brings about and found herself terrified and sick. There she met a healer named Uquin and even briefly saw Nuawhan again. Sadly the battle was lost and Mella was forced to flee back north with others. Making it back to her home in Mez Mella took time and began to put herself back together both in spirit and hope. She had a bit of assistance from a stubborn little sailscale that began to accompany her. With Telwren looking out for her what could go wrong? Provided of course he doesn’t eat all her food or bite her too much.
Wanting to travel once more she found herself back in the evil sands of Tale. No the sand isn't really evil but Mella had opted to travel with a merchant rather than try to walk along again. Along the way she met Uquin once more. She remembered him from her time at the camp. Leaving the traveler she walked to Yera with Uquin instead glad for the company. He was even kind enough fix a small scratch that Telwren had inflicted on her person. For some reason her heart found a small flutter looking at the handsome healer while Telwren only seemed to find an annoyance. Hoping to meet him again she parted ways with a small smile on her face and butterflies in her heart.
The pair did meet once more though under less than ideal circumstances. The obans had launched an attack and destroyed Neued. Mella went back to the camp hoping to ease some of the suffering knowing as long as her hands were there others could be freed up to fight for them. There she meet Uquin's child Padma. Uquin while a father was still single though thought well of Padma's mother. This makes Mella smile and she wants to help Uquin for his image has much changed from what it was.
