There was a great rumbling as the woman cast down the South wall of the school. The force field was in place, surrounding the school grounds, and the Conclave's plan would soon take shape. By gaining control of institutions of research, education, and local government, the group of nine mages would soon have the national government under its control. Grayslake Academy was among the first on the list - presumably an easy target. In this world, magic is generally accepted as a field of study, but supernatural beings are believed to exist only in lore. That doesn't mean they don't exist - it just means most people above the age of seven don't believe in them.
✚ Students and staff can't leave school grounds. ✚ You can't kill anyone else's character. Feel free to cause bodily/psychological harm to your heart's content. Feel free to kill your own. ✚ Keep all your characters in the same post. ✚ All types of anarchy are free game. Chaos is a plus. Violence is encouraged. Revel in it. Consider giving your characters some magical or supernatural ability. ✚ Semi-lit. To me, that means at least one paragraph. ✚ I don't care about post format I'm being ridiculously sloppy setting up these threads anyway lol. ✚ Posting order is not a thing here. Just be considerate. ✚ You don't need a character profile but it's recommended.

R E C A P - posts in/around the classroom.
L Lawliett XIII Caetus shot an icy glare at his partner. "Yeah, you're right. I could have handled it myself. I could have handled this entire thing by myself." he grumbled, his grey gaze returned toward the direction of the classroom the "chemistry teacher" retreated to. He wasn't going to stand and listen like some eavesdropper. He was already irritated enough for having been sent here, with a partner. Now this "chemistry teacher" dared to show disrespect by turning his back. Without a word, Caetus's right hand ignited in a great blaze that instantly warmed the entire hallway. With zero restraint or intention of mercy, the blond haired youth casually lobbed a devastating fireball directly at the wall beside the door leading to the classroom, completely blasting apart the stony wall and sending debris everywhere. A few pieces clattered off of Caetus's body, but he paid no heed, not moving an inch from his rooted position. He didn't give a single ******** if the teacher was killed, or the students were killed, or whatever happened. "Dunno. I couldn't hear them over the sound of the wall blowing the ******** up." he replied, his facial expression not changing in the slightest.
saya mini Upon hearing Vince's words, Dione sighed and shoved his hands away from her. He could be incredibly patronizing, and without good reason. "Oh, so you're choosing now to be nice? Don't pretend you like us," she said. He was doing nothing to make her less afraid - only acting like a hypocrite trying to play the hero. When the wall suddenly caved in, she immediately raised her arm to shield herself and looked away, not wanting to breathe in the dust. "I told you! We should have approached them first!" she said, annoyed. If we all die here, I know who to blame, she thought coldly. Raeann crossed her arms, meeting Caetus' even stare with her own. This was to be expected. That ability to manipulate fire was the reason why he was here in the first place, she reminded herself. Without blinking, she answered him. "You probably could have handled it yourself. But this is the Conclave's mission. And you're not in the Conclave," she said over her shoulder, stepping past him. Heeled boots clicking across the ashen remnants of the wall, she stepped into the classroom. "Hello, students," she started, still peeved at her uncontrollable partner. "The school's on lockdown now. Anyone leaving or entering the grounds is going to get fried by my force field, and anyone who defies us is going to face the wrath of my... colleague," she said, resisting the urge to say something snarky about him. "It doesn't have to be complicated."
Zoeloveful "I am not playing nice, nor do I claim to be anyone's hero," he retorts to the child's claims "And I don't have to like you to put my students' safety befo-" he was cut off as the wall was suddenly blasted in, covering Dione by using his body as a shield. A piece of debris hit him in the back but he was still standing as he slowly turned to face the gap in the wall, glancing around to check if anyone had gotten hurt. It looked like there were some injuries but, thankfully, they weren't serious. Vince then turned an icy glare on the two as the woman stepped into the classroom. "How pathetic must your mission be that you feel the need to waste time terrorizing defenseless high school students?" he demands with a sharp tongue "We aren't in your way, so leave us be!" At least he now knew that it'd be dangerous to try get his class off the campus, but he still had to get them to safety, and that meant making compromises, such as holding his tongue to resist all of the other comments he could be making ti scold and threaten the terrorists. Anyways, he wouldn't interfere with their business as long as his class was in danger; the only reason he had even stood in that doorway was to prevent anything/anyone from getting in and harming the children, and look at what that had accomplished.
Asturias Destiny Elsa smirked lightly, somewhat amused with herself. She wasn't even technically through with the first day and she was already making one of the teachers uncomfortable. Should she be proud of that? Probably not, but he was cute and not much older that she was by the looks of him. So why not have a little fun? "Technically it wouldn't be personal time if I'm helping you with something school based here on campus, Mr. Rowan." Elsa commented innocently, a gentle smile tracing her lips. At his offer, Elsa would arch an eyebrow slightly. Enter in grades? Sounded extremely boring, but it did give her an opportunity to eyeball the layout of the school. And her new cute teacher. "Sure, sounds like fun Mr. Rowan." Elsa said with a nod of her head. Then she felt what she thought was a rumble. "What was that?" She asked with an arched eyebrow. Elijah would chuckle as he shook his head gently. "Ah, not to worry. I understand completely." He would say simply. "Well, at least you're done here for the day. Unlike myself, unfortunately." He said lightly as he glanced at his watch. His eyes went wide for a moment. "Looks like I'm late. I'll catch you later, Katherine!" He said as he tossed his bag over his shoulder, his apple forgotten about in his grasp as he hurried from the cafeteria and into the hallway. What was his next teacher's name? Mr. Dorian if he remembered correctly. He was in such a hurry that he didn't seem to notice the rumbling.

Alaric's heart dropped when the foundation of the school shook. What was going on? It had come from the South side of the castle. It sounded like part of the building had come down. Eyes widening, he didn't know what to say at first. Get the students to safety, he thought, looking down at Elsa. "We need to get outside," he said, immediately abandoning the possibility of letting her grade papers right now. He grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her to the double doors at the far end of the cafeteria. It was an exit to the North grounds. Before walking outside, he turned to the rest of the crowd in the cafeteria. "Everyone out!" he shouted, holding the door open.
Dione looked up just in time to notice her teacher protect her from debris. "You didn't have to do that," she muttered, crossing her arms over her chest. She stood up and looked defiantly at the strangers, but couldn't resist taking a defensive step backward. There was no harm in minding her distance, right?
Raeann, amused at the teacher's claim that they were wasting their time, flashed a cold grin. "Like I said - this doesn't involve you. So just stay on your best behavior and we shouldn't have any problems." It hadn't occurred to her that the staff or students would actually defy them. What was the point in that? They were an unstoppable force and if the hostages stayed put and kept quiet, there was no reason to hurt them. At least, that's how she felt. She cast a furtive glance at her partner, who was significantly less level-headed. Was he really necessary? she thought. She knew it was a good idea to have Caetus around, but he was impossible to work with. Wouldn't that be counter-productive?

Vince hadn't even looked at the girl he had protected from the blast, but as he turned away from her to face their captors, she could see the back of his jacket and shirt had been burnt through to singe his skin from a fraction of red hot debris that had left its mark upon making contact with his body. Glancing back at her darkly, he sternly closes his hand upon her head and pushes her down behind a desk "Stay down," he orders without any affection in his harsh tone. Returning his cold cyan eyes to the woman, he stood up straight despite his back injury "Then you'd best get moving; who knows which classroom of adolescent youth will decide to misbehave while you're holding us captive," he says cryptically.

A scoff escaped from Caetus's lips as he coldly brushed by Raeann to confront the mouthy teacher. "I don't want to be a part of your Conclave. I'm superior in every which way possible to your kind. We have an alliance and nothing more." the golden haired youth venomously spat, not even bothering to give eye contact to his partner as he towered over the wounded chemistry teacher. "And you. You better shut the hell up before I sear your tongue out and melt your goddamn eyeballs in your skull. Do not test me. I don't give two shits about you or your brats. One or a dozen burnt corpses mean nothing to me." As Caetus spoke, wreaths of flame enveloped his arms and back, significantly raising the temperature of the room. His tone grew from one of annoyance and venom to one solely of malice and anger. "Hell, I could just murder all of you right ******** now and we'd still have a school full of brats left to use. So sit down, shut up, and listen unless you'd like to be burnt alive in front of all your kids. Get the picture? Good." With that, the flames instantly dispersed from Caetus's body, leaving little trace except for the now rapidly cooling air temperature. Still, his grey eyes glared at the wounded chemistry teacher with burning contempt for a few more seconds before he turned his back and marched back to the destroyed wall.

Arriving back at the school from her long walk, the woman never made it all the way to the Village of Nox Trinity but it seem as though it was fate. Being there at the school as a guest lecturer on History and different school of magic, she came back from Rellis Town just in time. All around her a force field was in place as she was forced to run but now she was trapped within. Looking back, after having never even made it to the head of administrations to let them know she arrived. She said to her self “I was worried about what I should have people call me. If I should say my name is Ericka. Or miss Pink. But now I think I have real problems. Maybe this is just one of the students.”

Allan sat in silence watching the scene unfold. Everything was happening so quickly that it took a moment to register everything before he spoke. "Pardon me but that sounds like some old bullshit." He said with a grin. He wasn't much of one for a hostage situation and the whole blowing up walls thing? It was way to cliche. Had he any common sense, he probably would have held his tongue but at this point his day had been crappy enough, there was really nothing to lose. He raised his hand like a child would before speaking, "So um does everyone's first day start out this shitty?" He asked in his regular smart a** tone. Joseph had been sauntering around the school as club activities didn't start until after school. He was knocked against the wall when the school shook and quickly got to his feet. He took a second to gather his bearings and as he did so the next sound caused him to jump. A large blast, as though someone had blown up a chunk of dynamite. He ran following the sound that had echoed through the halls until he saw a large hole in the wall.... almost like... no it couldn't be that was the past. He walked and peered through the large hole only to see exactly what he expected. The large silver symbol of the conclave and two members he recognized quite well. "Heya Raeann how's it going? Long time no see." He said with a playful tone as he wandered into the class room.

Elijah skidded to a halt before he rounded the corner to where his classroom would have been. He heard voices. One of his teacher. The other two he didn't recognize. And they didn't exactly sound friendly. Crap, crap, crap. What do I do? What can I do? He would think to himself, his mind racing. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest. What were these two doing here? What did they want? And why were they threatening his teacher and the other students? "Come on, Eli ... Think of something ..." He would mutter quietly under his breath. Slowly peeking his head around the corner, just enough so he could see the situation, Eli would arch an eyebrow. The male of the two he didn't recognized was flaming. Literally. Quickly retracting his head, Eli lean his head against the wall. He was only a student. What could he do? All he knew was that he needed to think of something. Fast.
Holding his gaze for a moment as she listened to him, Elsa would simply blink at him for a moment. What the hell was happening? Before she could say much of anything, he had grabbed her wrist and she was being pulled towards the door to the hallway to head outside. As she neared the doorway, her eyes widened. Elijah. He was headed to class wasn't he? Wasn't his next class in the direction the rumbling had come from. "I can't go outside,. I have to find my brother. His classroom is the other way, Mr. Rowan." Elsa called over the noise of frantic students that were streaming past them. "Alaric, let me go! I have to find Eli!" She said irritably as she tried to tug her wrist from his grasp.

Alaric shot Elsa a pained look. He was torn. If he let her go, he could be putting her in great danger. But he understood how important it was for her to find Elijah. The other students would probably be safe outside, since the threat was definitely inside the castle, but Elsa seemed completely unwilling to cooperate. With a heaving sigh, he released her. "Fine, but I can't let you go running into danger by yourself. I'll have to escort you." The last of the students in the cafeteria disappeared out the door and he immediately started off toward the direction of the disturbance, assuming she would follow.
Dione's stomach lurched violently when she heard Allan speak. She turned around slowly to look at him. What the hell is he thinking? She shook her head at him in disbelief. One of these crazy Conclave people was surely going to kill him now. "Nice knowing you," she shouted. Her voice was as sarcastic as it was fearful.
Raeann rolled her eyes at Caetus, who was giving the teacher verbal Hell.
"Don't tell us how to do our jobs," she chimed in, annoyed. He was lucky he hadn't been fried to a crisp yet. When she turned to greet the newcomer she drew in a tiny gasp, which immediately morphed into a judgmental stare. So this was where Joseph Vincent had ended up. The betrayer. He'd turned their back on the single most powerful group of mages to exist for the last five hundred years. No one could do that and get away with it.
"Hello, Joseph," she said curtly. "A staff member at our high school? I see you've amounted to nothing of note." Raeann, unlike Joseph, was loyal to a tee - forgiving him for abandoning the Conclave was completely out of the question. In fact, being civil to him was more or less out of the question as well.
Litha could hear the remaining embers sizzling from down the hall. Assuming that was where the conflict was, she tossed her cleric's hood back over her shoulders and strutted toward the classroom. This whole operation was going to be easy. The Conclave had chosen the right person to send in - with the power of Khisis at her disposal, Litha considered herself virtually unstoppable. Her only question now was regarding her colleagues. She had no idea who she was supposed to be working with. Entering the classroom, she quickly finished scrutinizing her nails before looking up. Immediately, she froze. This was who the Conclave had dug up?
Caetus.
Oh, hell no. Maybe he won't recognize you, she thought hopefully. The cleric's robes might throw him off. Now more than ever before, she wished she could still shapeshift.

Joseph looked over Reann, circling her with a bored expression. "And I see you haven't grown an inch since I last saw you." He said teasingly. He stopped after a couple of circles and looked at the group, including the new third member. "So I suppose I have to ask you to leave nicely, right? I would hate for this to get messy." He said with a very un-entertained voice. He was not one to skip out on a fight but the students health came first. He had specifically positioned himself to be between the students and the mages.
Allan sat with his jaw hanging open. "Of course you ******** know these people!" He yelled to his brother. "Is this what you did in high school? Play dungeons and dragons with your little wizard pals?" He wasn't sure if he was mad because Joseph had never told him about any of this or if it was because it meant that there might be a new unreachable gap between them. Either way it just meant he would be that much more of a smart a**.

As soon as the ******** idiot made his snotty remark, Caetus was about to march over and tear off his goddamn arm to beat him to death with it, until a small gasp from Raeann stole his attention. Glancing down the corridor, he saw some guy stroll up and give Raeann a friendly greeting. One of Caetus's eyebrows raised as his grey eyes carefully observed the man who now casually sauntered into the classroom, positioning himself between Raeann, himself, and the kids. Now he was asking them to leave. Oh boy. A hero type guy. The worst kind of person. They were annoying as hell. "Who's this guy? One of your old Conclave buddies?" the golden haired man asked, the irritation behind his voice once again evident, his eyes briefly averting from the man to take a glance toward Raeann. Now there was another person here! Caetus paused momentarily, his eyes locked on the woman robed in some kind of...priest garb or whatever. She looked extremely familiar. His eyes narrowed as he racked his brain for his memories. Seconds later, his eyes widened as the memories came flooding back. It was her. "No ******** way. Litha!?" he questioned, honestly surprised by her appearance. "What the hell are you doing here? Are you Conclave?"
