 The past holds lessons for us all to learn.
Tim McTornan
Tim wandered into a room full of instruments and looked around.
"A music room I take it."
He said to himself before Irish Great Pipes caught his eye.
"Oh? Now those aren't common to see outside of Ireland."
He said as he moved over to lightly touch the instrument.
In learning them we can bring forth greater things.

Tim shook his head, knowing that he had no right to just pick up one of the instruments and play it so he walked out of the room and went to explore the city around this school.
In learning them we can bring forth greater things.

Charlie walked into the music room with Luna. It wasn't too far from the building's entrance. Actually, it was the door right in front of the entrance. He looked at Luna after realizing that she had asked him a question. "Nah, I just like ta listen ta music. I've tried ta play guitar but it didn't work out for me." He said as he walked around the music room, looking at all the instruments. "My mum played that flute, though. And my old man... I think he played piano at some point. Probably when he was young. Now, tha only thing he plays is... Well, now that depends on if you consider it an instrument. I don't consider it one but he does. He's a twisted man." He sighed, thinking about his folks; His mother in particular. He didn't want to think about that man. No, he didn't consider him family any more.

She was surprised by how quickly they got to it, having not expected it to be so close to the entrance. "Oh.... Why didn't the guitar work for you?" She quickly followed him into the music room and was instantly intrigued by all the instruments. She started walking around and carefully examining them.. Wouldn't want to damage anything, right? She paused and looked at Charlie curiously, not really understanding what he meant about his dad. "What do you mean??" Ah, innocence. Charlie shrugged. "I dunno. Just didn't have tha patience, I guess." He said as he found a book of sheet music for piano on a self. He froze as she asked what he meant. Figures she wouldn't know–she was too sweet and innocent to know what he had meant by it. He sighed as he put the book back and turned around to face her. "That man was a pervert. He snuck home girls o' different ages every other night. My mum never saw 'im bring anyone home but I did... He is a disgustin' man..." He looked up at the ceiling and sighed. He didn't want to think about his family–it was too depressing to think about.

She started idly humming to herself as she continued looking around the room. She paused as she noticed that Charlie seemed to have tensed up at her question. This confused her and she wondered if maybe she had said something she shouldn't have. When he turned to face her and answered her question, she stared at him in surprise.. And then was very glad that her skin was so dark, because it made it hard to tell if she was blushing. Which she was. "I.. I see..." Her voice sounded slightly strangled as she forced those simple words out.. And then picked up a random book and opened it to a random page then began reading. Charlie nodded a little and sighed. He couldn't see her blushing but knew that it had caught her off guard. Of course, now she was nervous. And - of course - it was his fault. This always happened. Whatever, he was used to that sort of reaction. "Yeah..." Charlie said to break the silence. This was the part he had a hard time fixing. Every time this sort of thing happened, there was that awkward silence. He had a hard time continuing conversation with that person... "So... How'd you end up here? At Kuoh, I mean."

She was mentally scolding herself now for the way she had reacted to what he had said about his father. That person was probably miles away and from what Charlie had said, he was nothing like his dad. She put down the book and smiled a little, then shrugged. "I got an invitation and my parents decided I should accept it. What about you?" Well, more like she had gotten the invitation and the next day they had her pack before sending her to the school. He smiled. So her parents decided for her, eh? Sounded familiar... When she returned the question to him, he sighed. "Eh... It's sort of a long story... My mum passed away and my old man didn't want ta deal with me so he's sent me off ta boardin' schools since I was fifteen." He said with another sigh. "I've flunked outta a bunch o'em but I got an invitation ta this one... I was surprised they wanted me, really." He shrugged and smiled at her.

I wonder if everyone gets invited here." She paused, then frowned again as she thought of something. "I had never heard of this school before then though..." That was a bit confusing.. Charlie shrugged. "It's alright..." He replied to her sorry. He never quite knew how to reply to apologies about losing loved ones... It wasn't like it was their fault, anyhow. He snapped out of his thoughts and returned his attention to Luna. "Yeah... maybe..." He shrugged. But what on Earth did they see in Charlie? He held no promises for his future... "Neither 'ave I, really. My friend told me about it a lil', but they ended up not goin' here." He shrugged.

He pressed a couple of keys on the keyboard, but it wasn't plugged in so it made no noise. Well... aside from the sound of plastic... it made no musical noise. "You play anything?"

She smiled sheepishly before adding, "I couldn't sit still long enough to learn to play any.." This was true. Completely true.
