OH HAY GUYZ. ITZ A CHRISTMAS THREAD. gogogo!

Or pretty damn near.
Time has flown by since Thanksgiving.

Anyway.

I know everyone has probably been
super busy because of the holidays
and spending time with family and
whatever the hell the kids are doing
these days.

But.
CHRISTMAS IS THE TIME FOR MIRACLES.
JESUS. LIGHTS. COMMERCIALIZATION.
(Also Hannukah and Kwanzaa or whatever
tradition/holiday you go by)

However, there really are some things
that touch my heart. I work for the YMCA
in a before, kindergarten, and after school
program. In this past week before break
I received a large bag of gifts from various
students and some adorable handwritten
cards that I almost cried over on multiple
occasions. I think I'm getting sappy.

So here's what I'm asking:
What touches your heart during the holidays?
What is the best gift you've ever given someone?
What's the best gift you got for someone this year?
Did you get anything that has surprised you?

One thing I absolutely love to do during my shift at the bookstore is wrap presents. Being able to talk about the gifts with the customers - who they're for, why they're getting it - as well as helping customers find perfect gifts is really a blessing to me.

Because it's not just about promoting literacy or bookstores - it's also about the effort and energy people put into gifts and wanting to give others nothing but the best, including having it wrapped by employees. It's fantastic.

As for Christmas itself, I made chocolate fudge and people at my workplace really enjoyed it. That gave me warm fuzzies all over. whee
