Name: Aryaa Noo Gender: Female Race/Species: FFCC SelkieAge: 19 Job: Ex Caravanner, Currently a Dancer at the local theatre and, often, a pickpocket Personality: Aryaa is a woman constantly in motion. She doesn't stay still. She is always going somewhere, or two somewhere, or doing something. Somehow, despite her energy, she maintains a constant carefree attitude. She takes nothing seriously. She eats a lot- food is incredibly important to her- and she has been known to make short work of meals meant for three. Somehow, her metabolism keeps her trim and fit. eating food with others is a favorite and special pasttime of hers, and family always eats together. She also isnt a fan of fancy or frivolous things and people, and will go out of her way to mess around with them. To her they are unneccessary and far too serious. She likes to lighten up dour moods and generally make a nuisance of herself. So, at first glance, she's a fun sort of gal without a care in the world. Sometimes, though, the memories of her crystal caravan days come back to haunt her. Those days were not carefree, and were full of danger and desperation. She sometimes has nightmares of her adventures, still. She is very good at hiding this, however.

Aryaa Noo was born to a selkie family in a Clavat village in a world where toxic Miasma and the monsters that thrived in it threatened their very lives on a constant basis. Their village was protected by a shining crystal that held the miasma at bay and allowed their village to survive and even thrive. Every year, it had to be bathed with a mystical substance known as Myr. A caravan was sent out from the village- and from the other villages and cities of their world who were similarly protected- to seek out this substance and bring it home before the years end. They had a dire task because the Myr trees- the source of this mystical fluid- were often found in some of the most dangerous places in the world, and only produced a little bit each time. Fortunately, competition was not a problem- it was the trek itself, not backstabbing, that would kill you. Caravaners were heros, travelling far and wide to find the life saving substance, trading tips and helping each other along the way with their chalices that would carry the myr and hold the miasma at bay on their travels, kept in contact with their family and others by the miasma-immune and kindly moogles. Even the most experienced caravanners meet their end someday, and their village was fortunate that sheer force of will kept their carvan going until it reached home with its precious cargo, the last remaining member- Aryaa's older brother, Sat Gaan - dying at the elder's feet. Aryaa, only 13, had been intending to join the caravan anyway, and though they worried that she would be going alone, the other similarly inclined people were all far too young- 9 at the oldest. Aryaa had to go it alone, with only the town moogle for guidance. She grew up a lot in that first year, going from a bratty teen to a wisecracking opportunist. She came home successful, having managed to find temporary help along the way, and so began her heroing years. She worked hard for her family and friends for many years, fighting the stereotype of Selkies as Lazy theives. She was not lazy, though she occasionally 'supplemented her income'. Eventually, after a few years of going into the depths of the world with only her moogle and maybe another caravan for assistance, she was joined by other young warriors of her village, and eventually they became a well-oiled team, doing their duty as best they could. One day, a half year ago, the caravan was stopped at the Yuke (the magic using tribe)'s city, and were watching some friends of theirs working a magical demonstration of new teleportal technology they were trying to develop. Unfortunately, it malfunctioned, connected briefly to the dreamery, and Aryaa- who was sitting the nearest- was sucked in before the mage could shut it down. Since then, she has been stuck in the dreamery. She knows she could figure out how to get home- its not that hard to arrange a portal- but it requires money, which she doesnt have. And with all the random things from other worlds here, maybe she can find a way to stop the miasma once and for all? Or at least have a bunch of cool stories to tell when she comes home. In the meantime, she's staying in the dreamery and hey, why not adopt a manifest?

 Crystal Chronicles
Notes: In the FFCC universe, the Selkies are a tribe, much like humans, who are known for being large, atheletic, and cunning. They are also known for being lazy, shiftless, theives. It is true that they culturally have very little sense of property, and they are proud of what they steal, but they are not lazy- they simply have a higher metabolism and need more rest overall. They are actually very energetic. It is said that they came from the sea, and some philosophers say that they act sort of... sharky. They are the only tribe to not have a specific homeland. The other three tribes include: The Clavats, a peaceful human-like race composed primarily of farmers. Some are warriors by neccessity, but they tend to be nonviolent, pleasant, and generally gentle folk. They are well liked by all. The Yukes, who are so magical that they have almost become completely spirits in strange alien bodies. Magic is their life, and in their home city-fortress, they come up many of the technological advances that have made living in their poisoned world easier. And the Lilties, a small, proud, warlike people who look almost plantlike, these people are known for their firey tempers. Before the world was poisoned by miasma, they tried to conquer it. The Yukes are their rivals, but now they must cooperate to survive.
The world they come from is covered with an incredibly toxic gas called 'miasma' that kills very quickly on contact. Many farm animals, as well as the four tribes, are affected, but Moogles and 'monsters' and plants are not. It is unknown what caused the miasma in the first place, but it can be traced back to a great meteor that struck the planet aeons ago. Nobody has been able to investigate the site, though, because it is blocked by a stream of Miasma that prevents all crossing. Legend goes that it can only be passed with a treasure hidden in the great desert, but none have found whatever lies there.
The miasma can be held at bay by shining crystals, and villages and cities have sprung up around these crystals, but the crystals must be bathed every year in a strange and magical substance called myr. Myr is obtained from myr trees which form in 'significant' places, which are usually also very dangerous. There is technically enough myr to go around, if you can get to it. Caravans are tasked with aquiring enough myr to refresh their crystal. The size and strength of the caravan depends on the place it hails from: Aryaa's carsvan had 4 people at most, while the lilty city of Alfitaria has a well trained and armed force as its caravan. Failure to bring home myr means that the crystal's shine dims, and eventually it can no longer protect the village.
Outfit Despite what is shown in her picture above, Aryaa wears fairly typical fur blouse-and-kilt selkie wear. She just does not like wearing the sleeves.
