Physical: Tall and slender. (Around 6'2 ft)

Music oddly enough
Snow
Winter Winds

Dislikes:

Being Bored
Being Trapped

Skills:

Personality: Tryce, "Ace", is a very free spirited individual. His lifestyle has kept him alert and ever vigilant for trouble (that is to get into it!) and his brashness and sarcastic wit often ends up with him getting into yet another scrape. He is openly flirtatious with anyone he likes and has a dark sense of humor about him.

For those who don't know Tryce well he can appear to be more aloof and mysterious in his actions. Yet really he can also be sweet and kind. He enjoys teasing people, especially any of his few close friends. Always selfless and protective, he is willing to distance himself from those he cares in order to protect them and stop them from getting embroiled in his own troubles.

Although appearing like a dark trickster, he is quite perceptive and honest.
'
His change into receiving his hybrid half (articuno) has not affected him too strongly in personality as he still does have his mysterious ways hidden by that trickster side. He does have more mature moments now and often seems distracted when surrounded by a crowd.

Lives: In the city

Here are some brief pictures to resemble the ice temple that Tryce rebuilt...A general idea is that it's located beneath the mountain on one of the three islands built into the natural cave system found there. Hot springs that are located around the temple keep it warm despite the frozen area.

~Teen Stage; AIM RP: The Carnival~
Leaning out from his balcony view Tryce stared over at the city. It was a strange sight to view it during the daytime hours rather than glowing at night. As people mulled about in the city streets the umbreon just laughed softly to himself. I wonder if they realize how tiny they are from here? At the word tiny a small chiming sound took his attention and the teen glanced up at the crystal wind chimes hanging by the glass doors. One a deep indigo moon and the other an amber sun with violet swaying side by side…that was right. “I nearly forgot all about you.”

Reaching up the umbreon took hold of the sun chimes and tugged them down from their place, “Raxka must have found you and thought you belonged here.” Instead they belonged with someone completely different from him. Someone who had left his penthouse empty and quiet…even when he was scarcely there. The ‘business’ trip that he had to leave on for the past two weeks had kept the teen busy but now that he was in town it was time to check up on the kid.

He just hoped she was doing well with Mitsuru.

I swear Ilmari…you better be right. Listening to his friend he had allowed Truffles to go to the shrine to stay since it seemed a safe bet. There was no city there with no dark alleys full of danger looking for the kid out in the forest after all. Strangely enough though as Tryce left the crowded city and headed into the forest he had no problem finding the worn down trail. Soon enough the umbreon would be on his way to the shrine and this time with a mysterious package hidden in a satchel hanging at his side.

The longer Truffles stayed at the shrine, the more comfortable she felt. Well, the more Mitsuru patiently chipped at her solid barrier, the more she opened up, would be the proper way to say it. She probably wouldn’t have stayed if it hadn’t been for the warm teen. Mitsuru’s attention helped ease the loss of her brother. And... the fact that she hadn’t seen someone else in so long that she was certainly content to not see was wearing on her, too.

At the least, there was plenty to keep her busy around the shrine. Today was wood-chopping day for the fires. Mitsuru wouldn't let her have the axe, but she could help hauling the wood around. One of the adults hanging around did the chopping, and filled the wheel burrow. Truffles would take the load around to one of the various fire pits to stack the wood, and the return for the next load to take to another pit. It wasn’t exactly exciting, but it was something to do, and kept her from missing her brother, and the glowy guy that she didn’t actually miss. She stood by the chopping block, waiting for the next trip to be loaded, scuffing a toe against the dirt to make shapes.

As he watched the wooden festivities Tryce smirked, “That looks oh so fun.” Dropping down from one of the older trees saved from the chopping the umbreon snuck up behind the eevee, “Bored already?” He questioned watching her scuff her toe against the dirt, “That one…well…honestly what were you trying to shape there, kid?” His tail wagged behind him playfully as the tall teen peered over her shoulder towards the dirt.

His own booted foot dug into the ground and he made a smiley face sticking its tongue out towards them, “Now that’s true art.” Commented Tryce quietly before he looked back over to Truffles. Strange how he acted as if he hadn’t ever been gone from the kid’s side. But really he was looking her over…any new injuries or strange things about her? Nope. She looked like the same kid he had left behind a bit ago. That was good. Maybe the forest was a better idea for her…so much better than the idea of her being with him. All Truffles would have had was an empty penthouse most of the time then and an injured Tryce coming in once or twice during the early dawns.

Nope, this was much better on her even if the kiddo did miss him sometimes.

Finishing up the next random shape, Truffles twitched away from the voice that popped up behind her. It couldn’t be-! Spinning over her shapes without thinking about it, her expression turned into a scowl to hide that stupid joy that she felt. “Of course I’m bored! Where have you been?!” She looked down at her erased shapes and sighed, before Tryce’s drawn face elicited a small giggle. Her own shoe reached over to add long umbreon ears. “Better.”

Even she didn’t realize how much better she felt now that she knew Tryce was still around. Still, she looked up at Tryce and frowned. “What are you doin’ here? You got a big fancy home..” She could still clearly remember the penthouse she had woken up in after that attack. The glorious bath, and the delicious food... She should try to sneak in there for another bath one of these days. Or, had something happened to bring him to the shelter?

Tryce smirked, “What do you need me in order to not be bored?” The umbreon teased lightly before pulling back to stretch his arms, “I don’t think I usually stick my tongue out like that, but alright.” The teen reached down and drew a grumpy expression on another face with eevee ears next to the umbreon. Now that one was more accurate. It even had a small angry symbol above its head in frustration.

“I’m not living here, kid.” He smiled with amusement, “I came to steal you away. I have errands to do and I figured you might be dying of boredom by now.” He shrugged his shoulders, “But if you would prefer to stay here waiting on the next load then I suppose I wasted time.” Tryce took a few steps forward, “I’m heading out now though so make up your mind kiddo.”

Truffles snorted. “Of course I don’t need you. You just find trouble.” Those guys in the alley had been after him, after all. .....She couldn’t find any way to blame him for the mob boss though. Her ears perked as the new face was drawn into the ground, and she pouted enough to nearly match the drawn expression.

She was relieved to hear Tryce wasn’t in need of living here. How else would she steal a hot bath? But, then.. “Me?” She blinked at him in confusion, wondering at the idea that he’d simply thought she’d be bored. As Tyrce turned away, she looked over to the adult chopping the wood, “SorryI’llbebacklater!” And then she was running, grabbed Tryce’s hand, and practically dragged him along the path away from the shrine. Oh, some fresh air away from chores would be nice!

“So what is it this time? A bewitched watch? An enchanted purse? Another cursed mystery
object?” she asked playfully, thoroughly pleased to be out. She did like her new home, but with the risk of leaving... well, she didn’t get out much, and heckling Mitsuru wasn’t as fun as heckling this guy~

“No wonder it’s so easy to find you then.” Replied Tryce ever so innocently as he started walking. Admittedly the umbreon did nearly stumble forward at the sudden jerk to his hand, but a smile quickly flickered on his features. Well that didn’t take long. His soft laugh that escaped was followed with a light comment, “You must have really been bored then.”

Tryce just shook his head at Truffles, “It’s a mystery that you’ll just have to wait for.” With that said the umbreon started whistling lightly as he led the way down the forest path and back towards the city lights. But instead of walking towards the familiar path the umbreon turned towards a parking lot, “I hope you don’t get car sick.” Sitting in the lot was a midnight blue and black sports car that beeped as Tryce got close enough.

Opening the passenger door for Truffles he motioned playfully, "There you go miss."

Sticking out her tongue at his little jab, she couldn’t help mentally agreeing. They seemed to always find trouble together... “Only sometimes. There’s a lot to do around there with everyone coming in and out all the time. It’s not always fun stuff.”

Groaning heavily, Truffles just kept tugging on his arm. “You and your mystery stuff,” she grumped. When their direction changed, she looked at the flashy car in shock. He had one of those?! “I’ve never been in a car before. Are they covered in germs? Why would it make me sick?” Still, she was too intrigued by the sleek vehicle to not climb right on in.

“Ah, but if it was all fun and games then nothing would get done.” Replied Tryce sincerely as they continued walking on. In his mind the umbreon was mapping their route silently. Should he take that one or go there instead? Really his random whims could be trouble, but Tryce figured things would be fine once they got moving.

Yep, there was the look of shock. Tryce really didn’t understand people’s reactions to what he owned. Most of it was ‘borrowed’ on money earned from other things while he had to change his cars up all the time usually either way. If someone who didn’t like him happened to track him through a car…well that would be unfortunate for them. Still his own shock at her statement was apparent, “Really? Hmm…well here’s a first for everything. Just get in and you’ll be fine. No germs promise…just lots of movement.” With that he climbed into the driver’s seat and turned the key bringing the engine and the lighting up inside to life.

Violet eyes darted back and forth, taking in the shiny vehicle. It smelled interesting, and the buttons were interesting, and the soft seats were interesting... She squeaked in surprise when the engine lit up, her hands gripping her knees in surprise in interest. “...How fast can it go?”

Tryce just laughed quietly at the question, "I don't know if you want to know that." He stated before pulling out of the parking lot, "But if you're still interested I might show you in a bit." Already though as he sped down the roads the umbreon was smoothly breaking the speed limit by a good 20 miles per hour.

Soon they were outside of the city and heading further down south where the breezes were starting to become salty and the sun warmer...

Nose practically pressed to the window, Truffles watched as the world began to zip on by. It was.. a little daunting, but exhilarating. They were going so quick! She held tight to the door handle though, not liking her lack of control. Still, that just made her blood pump faster with adrenaline. A small smile was on her lips. This was awesome!

She was even more delighted to see they were leaving the city. Getting out of that cruddy old town and to the free air... “How long til we get there?”

"Shouldn't that be a mystery?" Replied Tryce wickedly towards Truffles. But he was glad to see that she was enjoying the ride rather than freaking out. She was just fortunate to see his daytime driving rather than the stunts he had to pull in the darkness of night. Even worse was how Raxka would treat his cars...just the memory itself made him tighten his hold on the wheel.

Despite his teasing though it wasn't long until the coast became visible along with the sparkling waves of the ocean. Tryce only slowed long enough to park to the side across from a busy boardwalk were shops were located. Even further up towards the right were small rides running about in a carnival fashion, "And here we are." The umbroen smoothly stepped out of the car and pulling on sunglasses waited for Truffles to move as well.

Truffles pouted loudly again, but her tail twitched with delight. It hadn’t been but a short time, and she was already having fun! So much more fun than lugging around the wood.

The moment her eyes landed on the ocean, her excitement waned. So much water... What if this suddenly rose and tried to take her again? Hold on- That was crazy talk! That water had come in the night, and had been black and thick and furious. This water was out during the day, and it shone blue and pure. This water wouldn’t try taking her away... Right?

It was a moment before she realized they had stopped, and she quickly slipped out of the car. Then.. the smells. Oh, the smells! And the sounds! The crisp air pulled her hair from her face almost tenderly, much more steady and gentle than the scuffy breezes that made their way through the thick forest she was used to. “What is it?” she asked in awe, though she made her way around the car to stand next to Tryce, keeping him between her and the water. If it suddenly turned black and angry, he.. would be a nice decoy to distract it while she got herself ready to fight back. Yeah! That was it...

Tryce paused as he noticed a slight change in Truffles. Was there something wrong with the ocean? His concern died at the sight of her awe and the umbreon smirked at her question, "What part of it?" He asked with an eyebrow raised, "Surely you've seen the ocean or at least have heard of it before."

Teasingly he held out a hand, "If you're afraid of losing me then I can hold onto you. But this is a boardwalk where everything is going on. Shops, rides, food, and more. Don't get too overwhelmed on me now, kiddo."

"What part to explore first?"

Truffles looked at the offered hand and snorted. “Nice cover. If you’re so afraid ta get lost, you can just say so~” She was irritated with the urge to cling to his hand like a- like a- a child! She might have been a child in human terms, but she was also a pokemon! There would be no hand holding!

She turned her attention to the crowd ahead. A boardwalk... “I wanna know what smells so good!” she exclaimed immediately, heading forward with a confident step.

Tryce laughed, "Alright if you say so." He tucked both hands in his pockets then and started walking towards the crowd. Though even as they walked his apparent distance from her wasn't quite true as the umbreon kept the eevee in the corner of his eye at all times. Even when some girls tried to get his attention the teen just shrugged them off as he continued walking.

He only slowed once they got near a big shack building towards the right of the boardwalk where the main food smells were coming from. Pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, seafood, it looked like it was an amazing mix of everything here. Tryce slowed as he eyed the pizza slices *nearly the size of a whole pizza each* sitting on display, "Is this what you smelled, kid?"

With her nose in the air, Truffles followed the scents. With so many mingling together, it was difficult to choose which one was the best. Her stomach tugged her around, pinching eagerly. Food at the shelter never smelled like this! She wanted to try everything!

When Tryce questioned her, she turned to investigate. Her eyes widened at the sizes of the slices. “It’s one of the things,” she said with a delighted flick of her tail. Yet, she paused when she saw the sign with prices for the food. She hadn’t brought anything... Digging deep into her pockets, she pulled out a handful of change. She bit her lip and held the money up for Tryce to see. “Is this enough for one of those?” Though she knew what money was now, she was still learning about the values when adding them together.

As he waited to see what Truffles would want Tryce didn't even think about money or costs. So when Truffles paused and handed up money the umbreon blinked. And when she held out her money he nearly had a teasing comment for her but instead he quickly stole the money from her hand, "Let's say that's enough for everything today. So go wild and get what you want."

He smirked lightly, "Just don't try to go too crazy on me. Don't want to have to roll you down the boardwalk from all the food." His tail twitched behind him playfully, "But I can handle your money for you today, so just pick what you want and don't worry about paying since I'll get it." And later he might help her figure out how to use money more accurately. Silly kid.

Still he couldn't help but to smile at the thought.

Blinking at her empty hand, violet eyes lifted to glare at Tryce suspiciously. No way that would cover whatever she wanted... She would have to have someone tell her more about money so that Tryce wouldn’t be able to be so sneaky again. Until then...

“Can I have one of that?” she asked the man behind the stall, pointing to a particularly colorful looking pie. The large slice came on a heavy paper plate, and Truffles didn’t waste any time in taking the first bite. A happy moan slipped out to show that she was pleased with her choice. Perhaps she would try another one later, but with different toppings. That didn’t stop her from practically inhaling the big slice as she turned to go see what was at the next stall.

Handing over bills to the owner Tryce picked up his own piece of pie before following Truffles. "You would think you've never eaten before." Joked the umbreon at her reaction before swallowing the rest of his slice, "More food or something else still?" He peered over at her shoulder as she went towards another stall this time.

"I do have something in mind that we must get though." He suddenly stated, "But that can wait." Now if the kid had never heard of funnel cake then she would be in for a surprise. Raxka could wrinkle her nose at all the sweets but Tryce was a different story. Funnel cakes would never escape him while he was around, "Let me know when you want something sweet kiddo."

“I never ate this before,” she mumbled between bites. She was certainly interested in more food, but Tryce’s tone made her ears perk. That’s right! There was more to see! Chewing up her last bite, she looked up at the umbreon with a grin. “Your turn! You pick what we’ll do.” Her curiosity often got the better of her; especially when it was a mystery of Tryce’s.

"Ah." Tryce chuckled quietly, "Guess you would enjoy it then considering it's not some grass or something. I would tire of that after a while as well." His gaze glimmered mischievously before he turned away, "Alright then come on." Navigating through the crowd the umbreon stopped by a pair of impressive doors and pushing on them went inside.

There he paid for two tickets and waited for Truffles to catch up. It was a small lobby though whereas it was next to him that the escalators went down into a huge opening shaped after a wailord's mouth. It was a cute setup though and faint music could be heard playing from the floors below.

Ears twitching, she couldn’t help a snort of a giggle slipping by. He was closer to the truth than she liked. Mitsuru and her no-meat diet was interesting, to say the least. She wiped her hands onto her pants as she hurried after Tryce, brow rising. What was this place? She looked with wide eyes at the moving stairs, and didn’t notice her own hand reaching to hold onto the hem of Tryce’s shirt. This was so... cool! “Down there?” How exciting!

Tryce just shook his head in amusement at Truffle's reactions. He really needed to take her to more places in the future then. She seemed to be having fun though. The thought made his face soften for just a split second before he took a step forward, "Yep. Don't trip just stay still like I am." Stepping onto a moving step the umbreon slowly made his way down to the bottom floor.

The room they were in had many information postings and smaller tanks to introduce visitors. But it was up ahead of them that the lights sparkled in different colors. This was from the glass walls creating a long walkway leading to several rooms. Music played softly over head as lights shined through the waters showing many various ocean pokemon who swam about in the walls around them.

"Enjoy the aquarium kiddo~ We have to go through here to our next stop."

Truffles jumped after Tryce, hand gripping the rail as she moved down, unused to something moving her without her control. She took a step back up, and slowly smiled. She took another step, and another, increasing her pace until she was walking backward in place. Now she was giggling, and hopping up each step with delight until another group started down the escalator. With that, she further ignore Tryce’s warning and hurried down the steps to where he stood below.

There, she grabbed his arm with a small shriek. They were under the water! Wouldn’t they drown?!

Hold on.. She was dry. “Ooooh!” The barrier kept the water away, and she was able to see the beauty of the set-up. Blushing, she yanked herself away from Tryce and walked over to inspect the glass keeping them safe. Cheeks hot and arms crossed, she focused on the water pokemon above her head. Okay... This was pretty cool, too.

Oh boy. Tryce tried to look as stern as possible at Truffle's actions on the escalator, but really he was smiling quietly. What a kid. Even when being a stubborn pain sometimes...she could be cute. For a trouble maker that was. At her shriek the umbreon raised an eyebrow, "Are you that excited?"

At least she seemed to like the aquarium despite her initial shock. The umbroen just shook his head in amusement as he walked behind her. "Look around here for a bit if you want. I'll be right back." Smirking he walked back through the crowds and disappeared into another blocked off doorway before returning a few minutes later with a heavier satchel. Not that anyone noticed of course since it was such a busy day and nothing seemed wrong with a tourist having a satchel hanging at his side.

Truffles held her arms tighter. Good. He simply thought she was excited. Wait- back? By the time she turned to look, Tryce was vanishing into the crowd. The water loomed above her head, and she hesitantly put a hand against the glass. It was all that separated everyone there from being crushed by the depths... Yet, she was quite amazed at being able to see the water pokemon swimming by.

When she felt that she had her fear under control, she moved her hand from the glass and looked back to see Tryce had returned. She looked at the bag curiously, but didn’t ask. If he’d been carrying it this whole time, she’d feel pretty stupid... “You said we had to go through here ta get somewhere else?” she asked, walking back over to his side.

His gaze was fixed on the colorful coral in the aquarium when Truffles spoke to him, "Hmm?" Slowly he looked down at the small eevee with a nod, "We have to walk through this tunnel to get to the next part of the boardwalk. We could have walked through parking lots instead...but what would have been the fun in that?"

Smirking he took a step away from the glass, "Then if you've seen enough here let's continue on. Gotta have you back before midnight else Mitsuru might have a panic attack." Teasingly he strode away moving gracefully amongst the crowd of people. Along the way the aquarium sparkled around them with all sorts of water pokemon swimming over head.

Towards the end he slowed down and peeked back over his shoulder. It wouldn't hurt to walk a bit slower so Truffles could enjoy it more after all...still he kept an eye on the time. It was limited for more reasons than just the one. But that was for him to know and for her to never find out.

After all what would she do with a thief?

Truffles blinked in surprise. She hadn’t realized that Tryce actually knew Mitsuru. He was right though. The shaymin often worried too much about her, and being out late without telling where she’d gone would only make the older teen worry even more. As they walked, her eyes drifted above and around. The deeper they went into the tunnel, the more her heart thudded in her chest, and the closer she walked to Tryce. If that glass broke, even a crack...

When the end of the tunnel was in sight, Truffles found herself picking up the pace while Tryce was slowing down. As beautiful as the underwater life was to look at, she was getting edgy again from the encasement. Though embarrassed to be showing her worries again, she kept up the brisk pace to get to the end of the tunnel and didn’t stop until she was well beyond the end gate. Taking a deep breath, she sent her eyes anywhere except back at the tunnel, and that was when she spotted the gift shop.

Ears perking, she walked over and instantly grabbed a keychain with a staryu on it. If she could show Mitsuru this... She knew that Mitsuru knew what had happened, but they’d never discussed it. ...Maybe this would make Mitsuru proud of her? She dared to glance back and look for Tryce. After all, he had her money.

Hmm? Tryce tilted his head thoughtfully as Truffles moved through the tunnel. Did she not want to stay that long as well? A shadow of a smile crossed his features as he followed her. Was the tunnel scary perhaps? Something different like that...underwater could be overwhelming. Either way her expression definitely changed now.

Smiling the umbreon leaned over and sneaking out a hand grabbed the keychain. Slowly he turned it over in his hand and looked at the keychain, "Either you’re just intently observing the artist's work or you might want this little thing?" Teasingly he looked through the key chains himself and picked a goldeen and a seahorsie, "Buy two get one free....why not."

"I'm getting something to drink so feel free to pick up any other little knick knack." Smiling he walked off with his three prizes.

Ears perking, Truffles just narrowed her eyes at the umbreon. “I want it for Mitsuru.” She lowered her gaze to the chains now in Tryce’s hand, brow rising again as the other two were picked out. Tryce wanted keychains?

“Hey! I’m thirsty, too! Get me one!” she called to his back with a pout. Figures. Off he goes again. Well, he did say he had errands to run. She wasn’t part of that. She was just getting away from the shelter. Right... Looking around, she began to feel the weight of the strange faces around her. Most were families on a trip to the aquarium. Others... Snorting, she shook her head. Paranoia. That was all it was. She turned and headed for one of the walls of shelves, pursing her lips at the rows of stuffed toys. Aatami would have enjoyed this...

"Oh?" Tryce smiled mischievously, "Not thinking of yourself? I'm surprised." Stalking off the teen disappeared towards the coolers and picked out two soda pops for the two of them. Such a demanding little one. The thought made him laugh softly under his breath. Still he was glad. A part of him might have still been worried about her ever since she had witnessed the murder of her previous boss...and as such he made certain to keep an eye out for her. After all it would be a shame for something to happen to the kid, even if she could be stubborn and annoying some days.

Pocketing his cash the umbreon pressed the cold bottle against Truffle's neck playfully, "Have a drink." His gleaming gaze scanned over her head towards the stuffed toys, "For some reason I didn't take you for the cuddly and cute type. Are you wanting something like this?" Moving over he picked up a stuffed pink dewgong and poked it, "I guess even cute things like these have their charm."

Truffles turned and aimed a hard glare at Tryce. She wasn’t that selfish! Grumbling under her breath, she focused on the toys and sighed. Of all the obnoxious guys to hang out with...

A squeak sounded as the chill touched her neck, making her duck away and spin. Another grumble later, and she accepted the drink. Taking a sip, her brow rose as Tryce inspected the stuffed toys. A warm blush rose and she shook her head. “There’s a lot ya don’t know,” she grumped, eyes shifting away. Having another look at the crowd, she took a step closer to Tryce again. “Can we go now?” She shouldn’t have been so nervous. This was a good place. It’d really been a while since she’d been out...

Tryce hid his laughter pretty well save for the mischievous gleam that danced in his eyes, "Pay more attention." He commented nonchalantly as he took a drink of his pop. Truffles really could be startled easily. It only made teasing her even more fun for the silent umbreon.

"Apparently." Tryce agreed, "But yes we can go now." The teen raised an eyebrow towards the eevee however, "Are you getting eager for the forest again? I can always take you home if you want Truffles." It was a sincere offer, something rare from the umbreon, but he was worried about how nervous she seemed to be at the moment. Something really was bothering her.

"But first let's get out of here and into the ocean air again." Striding forward he walked through the crowd of people and up a pair of stairs that allowed them back into the brilliant rays of the ocean sun. In front of them though was the other part of the boardwalk where the rides and games were set up. Unlike the soft quiet of the aquarium this place buzzed with energy and all sorts of faces in the crowds.

“Don’t be so sneaky,” she shot back with a huff. He was like a shadow, silent and swift, able to come out of nowhere... That wasn’t admiration!

Blush remaining in place, Truffles pressed her lips and shook her head. “No. I can stay out longer.” She didn’t want her only memory to be of the aquarium. It was pretty, but it had also reminded her that she was still scared; and that bothered her.

Once they were back out in the open, she took a deep breath. She already felt better with the sky above her head rather than the sea of water. Eyes roaming over the rides and games, she looked back up at Tryce. “Did you do your errands yet, or do ya still have things ta do?”

"Doesn't take much to be sneaky with you." He replied calmly, "But next time maybe I'll stomp extra loudly for you, kiddo." The umbreon was thankful that she could stay out longer though and he didn't hesitate to swap some cash for tickets from a vendor as they left the aquarium.

"Errands?" Tryce looked towards her, "I'm taking care of them on my own time, but right now I just want to relax. Relaxing is my main goal today. So come on...my turn to do some requests." With that he motioned for her to follow him and walked towards a tall ride with lots of swinging swings, "Now this is what I need in my life. Come on kiddo" He smirked towards her, "I needed an excuse to ride some of these and you're perfect."

Lower lip pouting out, Truffles could only snort. She should be able to see him coming just from all the flowing he did! One day, she would be the one sneaking up on him! As it was, she sulked after him as he bought the tickets.

Her ears twitched, and she cocked her head curiously. Relaxing? ...Did he think being with her was relaxing? Fun? No way. Mitsuru was the only one who liked her that much... He just liked bothering her. Still, her expression lifted at the choice of ride. “I knew it. You are just using me,” she whined, though she couldn’t hide a smile in her voice. She followed along, and chomped at the ride runner when he offered to help her up into the seat before pulling herself up with a cocky smirk. She could get up all by herself, thank you!

Tryce let out a soft chuckle, "What else would you expect from me?" Winking the umbreon sat back in his seat and waited for the take off. Ever so slowly the ride began to spin up into the evening air and as the speed increased they continued rising. It was beautiful to be able to see all across the boardwalk and the beach far into the glimmering ocean...the wind felt nice against his face too. For a small moment a relaxed look of innocence was on the umbreon's face as they twisted in the air.

As the ride began to slow down and they descended Tryce peered over towards Truffles, "You still alive over there, kiddo?"

The faster the ride began to spin, the harder Truffles’ heart pounded. What if the chains broke? What if the seat came off? She felt like she might slip right out!

Yet, like the car, she slowly felt herself smile. She was moving so fast... if felt like she was flying! Biting her lip, she boldly let go of the handle to put her arms out like a bird’s wings and closed her eyes. She could just imagine~ She felt so free like this, the spark of her love for the thrills in life returning. By the time the ride began to slow again, she couldn’t hide the big smile that made her glow with delight. That was right! She loved this sort of thing! “Another one! Show me another one!” she hollered excitedly as Tyrce called to her.

Smiling the umbreon just shook his head at Truffle's excitement, "Well you definitely are alive then. Let's see..." Motioning forward Tryce led them to another ride this one with double seats that went around in a circular motion and upwards, "Kanto Mountains."

He did hesitate as they moved forward in line and towards the seats, "You'll have to sit next to me, hope you don't mind." With that the umbreon sat down and buckled up to brace himself for the ride.

Slipping through the crowd after Tryce, she continued to stick as close as she could to him without looking clingy. Thankfully, the rides just might be enough to help her let go... Her brow rose at the new ride, and she snorted. “Just don’t get your glowy germs on my and we’ll be fine,” she snarked back, though she was still smiling as she climbed on it. This didn’t look like it would be as exciting as the last ride had been.

Smirking Tryce just shook his head, "Let's see if you can stay away then." Oh he had been on this one before. As Truffles slipped into the seat next to him the umbreon leaned back, "Hold on tight, kiddo." Soon enough the announcer was saying the usual teasing words and the ride started. Slowly, ever so slowly, it went around the circle...just fast enough to get some speed but not enough to take off.

It was when the speaker made the next comment to get others shouting that suddenly the ride came truly alive and went into a fast rising spiral that slung riders back into their partners. Legs taunt Tryce had already braced himself for this part, but his gaze was on Truffles to see how she was handling the sudden change of pace.

Truffles looked up curiously at Tryce’s warning, but only lifted her chin. Of course she could stay away! He was the one who’d picked the ride!

Holding the handle, her ears perked as the ride began to move. But... she looked over to Tryce to aim a pout at him. The ride was fun, but it wasn’t going nearly as fast as- A squeak and widened eyes showed as the ride picked up more speed, her pout going away. This was more like it! Wait- what-?!

Before she knew it, she was squished right against Tryce, blinking with uncertainty. Enjoy the ride, bite Tryce’s arm... Enjoy the ride, or bite Tryce’s arm.... Well, he was a little bit cozy... Just a little... She didn’t understand the heat on her face as she tried to pull herself away from the teen. The force of the momentum was powerful though, and her fingers slipped to send her right back against Tryce. Right then, a devious look came to her face, and she forgot about being upset. She pulled herself away as far as she could, and let go to slide back into Tryce with a laugh.

As the speed intensified Tryce actually let out a rare laugh as Truffles reacted to the force. Trickster. Grinning Tryce just waited until the ride shifted. He knew what would happen next and though he gripped the bar tightly the umbreon did let one slip happen where he was pressed right up against Truffles in return. Winking the umbreon nudged her once more before the ride finally came to a stop.

"Alright onwards~"

The next hour would be full of other small rides and carnival treats for the two. But with it also came the evening sun and soon the place was getting dark with only lights to show the way. It was pretty though to see all the rides lit up into the night sky. But if he didn't get the kid back home soon Mitsuru would probably have his hide. Still the umbreon hoped that she had enjoyed her day...as he waited for the last thing to happen Tryce peered down towards the kid thoughtfully, "Tired yet?"

That little trip to the carnival.. was possibly one of the best days of Truffles’ life so far. Everything outside of the rides and games and food were forgotten. She didn’t notice the passage of time, and it surprised her when she finally saw how low the sun was getting. The day had been filled with so much. Her cheeks ached from smiling, her tummy was full, her tail swayed slowly with contentment, and her eyelids began to weigh heavily. Blinking them quickly to wake them back up, she looked up at Tryce and opened her mouth to deny being tired, but yawned instead. “...Maybe,” she murmured, taking his arm without thinking about it to lean on lazily while her other hand rubbed at her eyes. “Are you tired? ‘cause, you know, I don’t wanna keep you up past your bedtime~” she replied with a little smirk. Still awake enough to be sassy, at least.

Tryce smirked at the yawn. It was obvious that the little eevee was about to pass out on him. But even so the umbreon was glad. He was glad to have given her a good day since the memory of what had recently traumatized the girl lingered. The last thing he wanted was for a child to have to worry about such things. Funny though how much he was starting to care for a kid. It's more of a farewell though... Once he dropped her off in the morning he would be gone. He didn't even know for how long.

"My bedtime?" Tryce laughed, "You don't wanna know how my 'bedtime' goes." Winking mischievously the umbreon continued on despite his startle at her sudden attachment. The kid really must be tired then...

"Don't fall asleep there's just one more thing..." As they left the boardwalk and started back from the beach the event he had been waiting for happened. Brilliant streaks of color lit up the night sky as fireworks exploded around them. His gaze glowing golden just like the fireworks exploding around them Tryce glanced down towards the eevee, "Told you not to fall asleep yet."

Stifling another yawn, Truffles shook her head. “Eh?” Too fuzzy to really give Tryce’s bedtime much thought, she tried to blink her eyes awake again. It had been a long and full day out. The most fun she’d had in, well, it felt like forever. Slowly, her gaze shifted up at the strange and mysterious umbreon. She couldn’t tell what it was about him...

She yelped as the sky suddenly exploded, instantly awake as her tail fluffed out and she spun to growl at the noise. Wait. Fireworks! Gasping with delight, she ran over to the rail at the edge of the walkway and leaned against it as her eyes locked onto the brightly colored sky. Her mouth was open in a big smile, and her tail twitched about excitedly. So cool!

Welp. That worked. Tryce just grinned as he slowly walked over to watch over the small eevee. Even now that it was dusk and the umbroen felt like everything was safe the crowd that surrounded them made him protective. Last thing he wanted was for anything to happen to the kid. Especially when she was having so much fun. Talking about fun...leaning against the rail himself Tryce chuckled, "I'm surprised you know what these are instead of calling them magic~" He teased quietly before watching the show.

As the last flickered in the sky he patted her shoulder, "We should leave before the rest of the crowd...I'll pull down the sunroof so you can see them in the car." Smiling he gently tugged at her, "Come on kiddo."

Truffles only stuck her tongue out at Tryce before looking up at the display again. She hadn’t seen fireworks in a long time, but she’d definitely seen them before. The shock of color followed by what was almost a physical impact as the sound crashed over her.. who wouldn’t love that?

Naturally, her ears fell as Tryce spoke up again. “Aww. Do we really-?” she started to complain, but then clamped her mouth shut. Mitsuru was sure to worry if she didn’t get back soon! She hadn’t left a note or anything! Whoops... Sighing, she trudged after Tryce with her gaze repeatedly looking back over her shoulder. The crowd was beginning to dissipate, and once they reached the car, she felt the excitement of the fireworks rapidly waning, the weights over her eyes starting to take over again. “Can we come back sometime?” she asked, though she flushed slightly and turned her gaze away. “Since, you know, I can’t exactly get here by myself, and I don’t know anyone else who drives, so I gotta ask you.”

As the fireworks crackled in the sky behind them Tryce paused, "Sometime...sure." He looked down at the eevee hesitantly before opening the door, "You never know I'm sure another driver will get into your life, kiddo. Unless you really are that hard to please." Playfully he ruffled her hair before sliding into his own seat and starting the car.

As he sat the umbreon pulled a package out of his bag and tossed it towards Truffles, "Here." A faint noise clinked through the package as the chimes gently rolled together, "Be careful about opening it right now though, it might still be cursed." Teasingly he grinned at her before starting to pull out away from the beach and onto the road.

“I just might be!” she huffed as she hopped into the car, trying unsuccessfully to duck under Tryce’s hand. Settling in, she peeked out to watch the boardwalk dwindle until she could no longer see it. Though sad to be leaving, she still felt... content. She hoped her brother was having nice days like this, wherever he might be. Nights like this, she could truly believe he was still alive...

Her ears perked as she looked down at the package. 'Cursed? Was this the same thing from before?' She looked over to Tryce, back to the package, and quietly smiled as she held the item in her hands. She would opened it later...

The long day finally took its toll. With the steady hum of the engine and comfortable seats to snuggle into, Truffles tried to keep her head from dropping, but soon enough it had lolled to one side, her breathing steady and body limp from sleep.

As they drove quickly through the dark night Tryce kept quiet so that the kid could sleep. Still though he couldn't help but to peer over towards her occasionally just to check that she was still there. A soft smile, a rare one at that, did light his features as he turned down the road towards the forest. Silent as a shadow the umbreon pulled the sleeping girl into his arms to carry her towards the shrine.

He was glad that he could give her a good night. Tomorrow though....and for the next months he hoped that she would be okay, "Don't miss me too much kiddo." Whispered the umbreon as he walked, "If you wait on me...I'll be back in no time."

It was funny though. That she would be waiting on him while he didn't even realize what he was waiting on from her yet. But he did realize one thing...the Truffles he would leave behind now would probably not be exactly the same by the time he would return. Still he hoped that even if she grew up that the spirit would be the same troublesome kiddo as before, "So you better not forget me by the time I return, kiddo. After all...I need something to keep life interesting."

As he laid her down quietly by the shrine the umbreon brushed a gentle kiss on the top of her head and left the package next to her sleeping body. With the jingling of chimes there was a small note. These are cursed so you don't forget me because one day...I will be back kiddo. So don't get into too much trouble before then. Smirking he ruffled her hair one last time before walking back into the shadows of night, "Bye kiddo. See ya someday~"

It's a fake! (Learning Substitute)

It was another dark evening with a thick mist to hinder Tryce’s view. Squinting ahead the umbreon cursed softly under his breath. He knew that this town was always full of mist due to the ocean breeze, but having it made his job no easier. Then again at least it makes it harder to catch me. Smirking he slipped down from his high perch along the clock tower and began his climb down towards the nearest roof. It was a good night to stalk the streets.

Or at least that was his hope.

Now though his hands froze in place above the glass and slowly the teen moved back to inspect his work. The hole was perfectly sealed and the fake diamonds gleamed teasingly from their new placement. I think that should do it. Backing away Tryce began his climb again to get outside of the exhibit and back into the streets.

Getting in was always easy, but getting out…that was another problem.

“Ace!”

Hearing his street nickname the theif slowly turned around to see several poke-humans behind him, “Oh?” Tryce showed no fear as he smirked towards the group, “Sorry boys, but I think your diamonds are in another place now.”

Electricity sparkled off of the angry jolteon, “Dammit Ace stop getting to our targets like this!” His gaze narrowed as he tightened his grip on the knives in his hands, “I warned you before we will get rid of a rat like you. It’s not good for our business to have you always popping up in the way.”

Tapping his fingers against his cheek Tryce had to pause, “So…you’re saying I’m the one ruining your business?” The umbreon shrugged, “From my point it seems like you guys are just too slow to act. I’m seriously saving you trouble though, ya know?” He wagged a finger at them, “If it wasn’t for me clearing the loot first then surely you’d already be behind bars by now.” Though there was that one time that he managed to barely get to the target before the bolt gang and the cops had them in jail for a while then as accomplishes. That one had given him a good laugh. They had deserved that one for trying to use him to do their own dirty work.

Now though it looked like they were up to no good once more. Tryce had to sigh at their lack of thought. Couldn’t they just move on with their lives and get out of his way for once? He didn’t know which was more annoying them or team rocket. Though now is definitely not the time to debate it…

“Hand it over, Ace. This time you won’t be getting away so easily!”

Ah, there it was.

Tryce actually felt a bit of worry as a horde of poke-humans came out of the shadows. Who would have thought that the whole group plus others would have come here to fight him? What a mess… As he dodged attacks Tryce had to think…the mist was super thick tonight and there were few lights…

Should I try it?

Closing his eyes Tryce focused all of his energy on the ability that Amalie had spoken to him about. It didn’t sound super hard to use and now seemed like the perfect time to see if he had learned it correctly. Substitute And just like that Tryce had to hid his laughter as the gang went chasing after the more shadowy version of him.

Well that made life easier.

Slinking back into the shadows Tryce clutched at his prize and went back to his room where he could enjoy the rest of his evening.

Skill: Assurance

Another night, another scrap.

Sighing Tryce looked down at the enraged pokémon, “Do we really have to fight now?” He had just gotten back from a theft and was hoping to take either the best nap of his life or go harass Shou at the club. It looked like he was going to get to do neither now since the charging Steelix would have none of it. How was Tryce supposed to have known that he was trying to rest on its head?

No apology would stop the raging pokemon’s attacks though.

Feeling a bit battered the shiny umbreon tried holding up his hands as a white flag, “I said sorry so why can’t we just go along our merry ways, hmm? Not my fault that your head looks like a nice boulder to sit on…” Okay maybe those weren’t the best words to tell the steelix currently. Jumping back Tryce winced as he slipped on his injured leg. How was he supposed to get out of this now? Next time I tell Raiden to go ham I hope he realizes I truly don’t mean it. That ampharos was a hell trainer when it came down to it. He didn’t know who was worse between Raiden and Amalie…both training him at the same time sent a shiver down Tryce’s back. No thank you.

Seriously though would he get double time logged for this?

Did Wild pokémon even count as extra training hours? He was still bitter that he needed them. You’re out of shape they said…still need to train they said…as if running from a crowd of thieves and cops during these heists weren’t enough trouble on their own. It was a tough life after all. He would be glad to come home finally and rest up a bit after collecting all of the pieces that were needed. Soon he’d have that potion to experiment with…That’s right just think of the potion…and of this guy!

Dust exploded around him as Tryce slid back against another tree to dodge an attack, “Hey be careful! I would like to keep my face in one piece thank you!” Cursing lightly he brushed dirt from his arm. That guy was doing more damage to himself with all of the recoil from these attacks…

Wait a second…

Tryce knew that he really didn’t have the energy to do all of this battle. So maybe one good attack could help him out? But what do I know? Surely there was something to do double damage on top of all that recoil the Steelix was doing to itself. Right? Tumbling once more to safety Tryce found strength building up inside of him as his dark powers took over.

Not my fault that I’m learning this move buddy. He was tired and frustrated and having none of this battle business. He just wanted to go and relax after all. Eyes glowing in anger Tryce dodged once more and finally turned himself around to send back his own attack. Surprisngly though the power that spilled from him was something new and it doubled with the fact that the steelix was already hurting.

Assurance!

Grinning Tryce watched as the steelix slammed back into the forest and finally stopped attacking him. Too tired buddy? Good so am I. He definitely was going to go and try to get that nap now. And if anyone bothered him? He’d figure out a new attack to send their way as well.

For now though assurance would be a handy thing to have.

At least he hoped.

A Hiking We shall go! [Solo w Ilmari]

“Wouldn’t it be nice to fly?”

“Why…would you want to do that?”

“That’s right.” A pair of golden eyes looked over towards the other with a sigh, “You used to be able to fly about in the wind. Don’t you miss it?” Tryce was jealous. After all wouldn't it be nice to just be able to free himself from the ground so easily? No worries, no troubles...

Leaning against the railing Ilmari wanted to lie to the shiny umbreon next to him, but found it impossible. Didn’t he miss being able to ride on the wind and cause mischief that way? The only time he had even feared riding the wind was after the storm had nearly killed him. Now though he would feel a strong breeze and almost wish that it could sweep him up again, “I suppose so.”

Tryce just shook his head at the whimsicott, “That’s awful. You suppose so, Ilmari?” The dark teen just smirked in faint amusement, “You really are a go with the flow guy. I remember when you used to get into all sorts of things. Now you rarely even seem angry or upset.”

“Is that such a bad thing?” Ilmari grinned, “Do you want me to be angry or upset at you again?”

“I suppose not, but it’s strange.” Tryce leaned back against the railing, “Ever since you moved to this city you’ve been different. You sure the flower handling hasn’t made you too soft?” He joked with a small wink, “All those pansies and daisies making you all fluffy again.”

Ilmari just rolled his eyes, “Not everyone can be born to cause chaos like you, Tryce.” Or should he say Ace? The whimsicott knew about the umbreon’s night life and how easily money had come to the umbreon after starting up his ‘business’. He really had to wonder why Tryce had to go about just spending and stealing as he pleased. Surely he had enough material wealth to make life comfortable. Rather than changing expensive cars and penthouses week after week Ilmari was fine with just living above the flower shop in his little room. He didn’t need so much luxuries in his life. Not when his happiness came in the form of someone else. Maybe it was because of her that he had changed?

“Eh, I don’t cause it I just tend to attract it.” Tryce slipped over the railing and looked towards Ilmari, “You want to tag along? I’m getting bored just sitting here.”

“Always the impatient one.” With that Ilmari climbed over the railing and found himself walking down the mountainside. It was rocky and dangerous for any human to attempt, but both boys were just smoothly walking their way down the wild path. It reminded him a lot of the old days honestly when both of them were just pokémon. Always venturing off the path when Rui looked away into some sort of trouble. Smirking Ilmari jumped over a fallen tree and followed Tryce down towards the lower ground, “So where to?”

“I think there might be something hidden here.” Tryce smirked, “If not at least it’s a good nature walk?”

“It must be something important to you.”

“Eh, it’s an idea.” Tryce stretched out his arms as they walked along through the trees, “I hear blessings can be given and I’m determined to find something.”

“Blessing?”

“Yeah, the so called legendries give them out sometimes.” The teen shrugged, “So why not look for something? That or a rare artifact is also in the area.”

“Only you would come up with these crazy stories and actually believe them.” Replied Ilmari as he dodged through the thick knot of greenery, “Who would want to bless you anyway? I’m sure you cause way to much trouble for that.”

“Maybe they’ll do it to get rid of me.” Tryce shrugged, “Either way does it hurt coming through here?”

Ilmari paused thoughtfully, “I suppose not.” All he had been doing lately was training and pushing himself to his limits to work normally during the day and fight at night. Amalie had been helping a lot and now with Tryce back in town it was almost tempting to ask for his help as well. Strange that Tryce had approached him first, “But does it have to be so far out?”

“I had no other choice. My job still is going on so I can’t come back home exactly yet.” The umbreon shrugged, “This is the best in between place to go.” Cursing softly he kicked at a tree before spinning around, “Alright then we’ll go this way!”

Shaking his head Ilmari followed the umbreon further into the woods. What a random time to ask for a camping trip. In winter as well! He thought for certain the umbreon was trying to freeze them to death. Then again it was Tryce who never worried about anything and just went head first. Could he be right about the blessings? “What blessing are you hoping for?” He finally asked as they skirted down a new path.

“Can’t you guess?” Tryce asked before darting around trees and pulling off to the side to veer away from the path. If wild pokémon normally used it then it was useless to him. These places were often found far off the paths into the depths of the forest long forgotten. He had his fair share of experiences with such things after all.

“A second head for more thinking power?” Teased Ilmari lightly as he fought his way through vines to get after the umbreon, “I really don’t know. I thought you were fine as you were.”

“I want to fly.”

“Eh?” Ilmari nearly stumbled at the thought, “Seriously?”

“What?” Tryce continued on without pausing, “Can’t believe I’d like wings? It’s not the best being stuck on the ground after all.”

“Tryce…”

“You even said you missed it as well, right?” Both boys slipped further down into the forest, “Wouldn’t you like to have a blessing so you could fly again?”

While Ilmari became deathly quiet at the thought Tryce found himself grinning in anticipation. Wouldn't it be worth all these adventures to finally get his blessing?

After all he ever wanted to do was fly.

Beginning to Change~

It was dark inside, a pitch black hole that swallowed all the light around them. Reaching out his hands Tryce watched as the faint glow from his markings barely gave some light to the area before them. Looking back towards the twins he smirked, “Seems like it’ll be a fun surprise.” His golden gaze gleamed as he looked around them one last time. A trail had led here into the heart of the island where some strange cliffs gathered. The tropical air had turned into an evergreen forest as they had gotten closer leaving them with a chilly air. If it wasn’t in the middle of a set of tropical islands Tryce would have nearly expected it to be snowing soon.

Maybe it still would.

Huffing a mist left Raxka’s mouth as she rubbed her arms, “We aren’t even inside yet and I’m already feeling like a Popsicle.” Maybe she really should have listened to her twin for once. Her typical skin showing leather was leaving her bare skin icy. How Tryce didn’t seem affected with his sleeveless outfit she didn’t understand. Then again he had always been her tough guy. The thought made the shiny smirk as she scanned around them.

Tall dark pillars coated in silver strands of ivy stood before them. Hieroglyphs from forever ago seemed to have faded through time and had cracks and new etchings marked over them by nature’s touch. It was a cold marble though she felt it through her gloves as she reached out to stroke the shimmering surface. Her observations were only distracted by the sudden feeling of warmth along her shoulders. Blinking she looked back towards Raiden who was now without his own coat as he had tossed it onto her shoulders.

“I’ll be fine.” He commented sharply before she could protest, “Shouldn’t we get going inside already? The longer we stare around out here the longer we risk being spotted.” As he spoke his hands drifted down towards the katana lying against his side. He hated lingering since it left them open to attack. He would much rather be in a space where they could see any attackers first.

“This isn’t a heist so I’m hoping it’ll be quiet tonight.” Commented Tryce, but still he did take a step forward, “Either way let’s get this party started.” Taking the duffle bag from his shoulders the umbreon tossed it forward into the dark opening before sliding in himself. It was dark and damp and the teen had to wince as his back scrapped against some sharp rocks. Not my best entrance, but it’ll do. Once the shrine must have had a grand entrance, but since it had been abandoned ages ago the entrance had been covered up by nature and fallen rocks leaving only that hole behind.

Reaching a hand out Tryce caught Raxka about the waist and she spun into him for her own balance, “Thanks.” She breathed against his neck in her typical flirting way. Leaving the lightest of kisses there the shiny ampharos reached a hand out and helped Raiden to find his feet as he too slid inside, “Do you think it could be any darker in here?” She questioned squinting into the darkness trying to make sense of the faint sight that Tryce’s glowing markings gave them.

“If we hide Ace away then yes.” Using Tryce’s nickname for their night lives made this an official mission. Raiden reached out and flicked on his flashlight, “There’s more in the bag if you guys need, but let’s get a bit further inside before we light up the whole place.” The last thing they needed was to make a flashing sign that they were here by the entrance for all to see.

Nodding her head Raxka just let her hands spark up a few times before taking some steps forward, “I’m confused. So this was inside a cave the whole time?”

“Yeah.” Tryce’s grin lit up in the darkness, “Cool isn’t it? I’m sure the shrine stood on top where we just were as a gateway inside of here. It must have been very elegant with huge pillars of marble and a middle hall that stretched above this here with only a door for the priests and sacred maidens to get through.”

“A huge shrine to just cover up this hole?” Raxka shook her head. Some people had no style. Why not just make some elaborate shrine and move this whole cave out of the way? She shivered and clutched Raiden’s coat closer to her body. It definitely would have been better than being in this damp and cold place.

“You’ll see.”

She could only shake her head. Ever since trying to find a blessing from a legendary Tryce had dragged them through so many weird places. Even Ilmari had gotten involved in some of his misadventures, but now once more it was her turn. I just don’t understand why he’s so driven to find something. She thought he was perfect as he was, but he acted like a part of himself was still missing. The ironies of life, a thief felt like life had stolen something from him.

The caverns must have felt like he was the thief though. Step after step seemed to be full of challenges as the trio moved forward. Once they had to fight back against ancient traps of arrows and spears while another time running on a bridge as it crashed behind them. Every moment seemed to lead through traps and Raxka felt like any other poor soul may have found themselves crushed by the passage. Still though as the trio came across one last bridge she found that the cave was somehow managing to get darker as they continued.

The party grew quiet as they continued on into the darkness. Only the faintest sounds of dripping ice was heard in the distance and the occasional slip of feet made the only noise from inside the cave. It was like entering a strange world from another time. Tryce though found himself fascinated and would occasionally move to the side to inspect a piece of the wall were icy formations hung and others where etches faintly remained.

Now that things were finally quiet Raxka found herself bored and wondering how far the cave went when suddenly a faint light shimmered up ahead of them. “What is that?” She whispered while clinging to Tryce’s hand. Had they already found an exit? Was it a false alarm after all? As the slippery slope turned into solid stairs she felt like that was not the case.

Shimmering colors of light blue danced off of the ice around them as they emerged in to the top level of the cave. Here was where those who had made it through the passages of trial had received their honors. While most of the passage had lost the truth of the trials of darkness due to the span of time abandoned the few things that remained stayed here. Tryce smirked as he reached his hand into the bag at his side and emerged with glowing crystal balls.

“Are you certain you want to go on?” Raiden asked quietly. Before them stood the same pillars from earlier, but these had not been touched by nature like the others. They instead gleamed with a coating of what appeared to be pure crystal or even ice and beneath the surface stood etches of an old language. Wrapping around them were strands of ice and ribbon that created a small island in the middle of the pool of hot waters that circled around the center. Sitting there was a frozen statue of a legendary bird that had its wings wrapped tightly around the object before it.

“It would be a shame to back down now right?” Tryce smirked as he headed forward.

It was a true statement. The trio had fought hard and long to gather all three of the balls of light that the umbreon held in his hands. Even getting onto the island to get near the shrine had been a hassle as the teens had to fight against a gang of poke-humans guarding the entrance. The family that had lived on this island for years had been told to guard it and had guarded it well until now. Even they had forgotten what rested ahead.

As Tryce went forward he felt energy surging from each pillar. Every step though got him closer to his goal and he felt his heart racing. Pillar one he placed in the shimmering orb of violet and watched as the formations shifted around him. More energy spilled out as he placed one more crystal into place and as he placed the last he watched the bird’s statue.

Eyes glowing it seemed to speak to him as he moved forward.

Raxka wrapped her arms around Raiden’s for comfort, “Do you think he’ll be okay without us right there?” She whispered while straining to see exactly what was going on up ahead. It was hard though because the mist from the hot springs blended in with the lights creating a wall to block their vision. Still though she knew Tryce and she knew him well. Any challenges before he had always conquered so why would now be any different?

A pool of shimmering water came from the beak and flooded into the bottle that had been hidden in its wings. Tryce felt an uncanny pull to it just as he had to this shrine. A gift for those who are supposed to protect your home? High above the island rested the mountain that this cave nestled under. Up above he could see the moon shining down on him from the huge gap that was hidden from those who tried to get in from above ground. That mist would only open for those with special abilities. Grinning in amazement the umbreon reached forward and grabbed the bottle. This was it. The feeling of being complete was here for him.

Tilting his head back the teen drank from the liquid and his gaze flashed in color as the liquid froze his body. It was so cold that it burned his throat. Tears escaped and streaked down his face while the glass bottle crashed into the ground. Falling to his knees the teen could only remember the loud shouts of Raxka in the background as she ran with Raiden towards him.

How strange that it felt so weird to be whole again.

He knew that once he woke back up he would be different once more.

“Tryce, Tryce!” The shiny ampharos clutched him in her arms as he closed his eyes.

When he would wake this world would be different again.

~Teen Stage; AIM RP: Truffles and Tryce; Something’s Different About You~ Part 1
Though she didn’t need the cast anymore, Truffles still had a bandage around her leg, and gimped along slightly. It was well into the evening, and Truffles was back under a hat and cloak to hide her image. It was a little harder to blend in with purple skin, but she thought it could still be done! After hunkering down in the tiny apartment that her brother was renting for her, she was going a bit stir crazy. It was bad enough when she couldn’t do too much walking. Now that she could move mostly freely, it was extra difficult to stay put.

It was a risk, but, in her mind, better than going nuts indoors. Besides, she couldn’t keep letting Aatami spend his hard earned money on her like this! So, out she was like so long ago, looking for a job. She hoped that being older would make things easier, but, honestly, who wanted to hire a girl afraid to show her face outside?

She was so tired of being worried... Yet, of course, the night showed that she would never be able to relax. All it took was a misstep... bumping into a person hard enough to get knocked back onto her butt, hat flopping to the ground... She growled at them to watch where they were going, only to look up at leering faces.

“It was Truffles, ain’t it? So, Danny was right about you. We heard you’d grown a bit~” The thugs grinned stepped toward her. “The boss been waitin’ a long time fer you. He been really patient, too. Especially after you got away that last time..”

Truffles spun with a yelp, instantly calling to her Run Away ability, but they’d learned from their previous encounter with her. A Vine Whip grabbed around her waist and yanked her back, slamming her into the ground.

“Aw, come on, girl. Don’t make a fuss again. He’s really a nice guy when you get to know ‘im! He’s... electrifying~” The thugs both laughed.

Though she was fighting with the vine around her, she couldn’t help aiming a stupefied look at the pair. “Really? That’s your joke? Good grief, at least let send for someone with a better sense of humor to bring me in if you manage to actually catch me.”

The skies were going to be beautiful tonight. From the way the wind blew through the clouds the poke-human could already feel that it was going to be crystal clear. A perfect moonlit evening. Smirking, the young man leaned over the edge of the high building to stare at the streets below him. Everyone seemed so tiny from up here...not like it was his first time up so high, but the feeling of being elevated would not leave him lately. His vision, originally sharp in the dark already, was sharper than ever and the rest of his senses had followed. He truly felt stronger than before. This new feeling was something much more powerful than having evolved. It was like two halves of one whole had finally fused together. I am still Tryce, but more like a Tryce 2.0 I guess.

The chill of the wind didn't even bother him. Rather the cold felt like a gentle caress against his skin now. So when the air brushed through his feathers he only smiled. Truly he made an interesting figure against the night sky with his flowing hair and glowing blue wings. Thankfully though his glow was faint so that no one really noticed it when they did happen to glance up. However, he did pay attention to things when he looked down. What was going on down there? It looked like some poor girl had stumbled and now was getting wrapped up into some trouble.

Slipping forward Tryce opened his wings and leaped forward a bit to get closer from behind.

Time to see what was happening here.

Gritting her teeth as the vine lifted her into the air, Truffles felt another wrap around her bandaged leg, yelping as the one around her waist let go.

“See what happens when ye’re a smart mouth?” the bulbasaur man said with a sneer. “Come on. It’s a bit of a walk back, and I want boss ta know we caught her ourselves. Bet we get a promotion!”

“You’re just gonna be stuck with melted eyes like all the others who disappoint that overgrown rat!” she snarled. Wincing as she twisted around, she grabbed a knife from her pant leg and sliced through the vine. Dropping to the ground with a thud, she spun back onto her feet as quickly as she could, and used Tackle to surprise the pair of thugs. She was only able to spring from the ground with one leg though, her move a little less effective. It worked well enough on the stick-like nincada, but other set of vine whipped out, slapping her legs sharply. The vines wrapped more firmly around her, slamming her against the ground until the blade dropped from her hand.

“You, little s**t, are gonna get me in good with the boss. Don’t think I’m lettin’ you get away easy.” With Truffles suspended in the air, the bulbasaur walked over to his pal and gave the guy a kick. “Get movin’, man. Boss is gonna want Miss Mushroom here soon as possible.”

Looks like this fight is getting a bit intense. He wondered what the Espeon had done to get involved with such thugs. Was she running away from loan sharks maybe? His ears twitched thoughtfully. She didn't seem like the gangster, mafia type herself. An innocent bystander then? And there's a knife. Okay so maybe she had a bit more spunk than expected. Tryce smirked at the thought as he floated quietly above the scene. To jump in or not to jump in...that is the question.

Still it was painful to watch. Was he really going to let the poor girl get beaten up by these guys? That didn't sound like fun. I suppose I needed to stretch my limbs anyway. Pulling his wings close to his body the hybrid shot down from the sky. Landing he smiled as the crystal shards of dust shattered around him from the sudden cold, "Sorry boys. I can't help but to notice that you're havin' a bit too much fun here."

His golden gaze quickly switched from warm to violent and a heavy feeling filled the air. A hand rose to freeze the sharp leaves headed his way and he couldn't help but to smirk in satisfaction as the pieces shattered on the ground. They never learn, do they? Shaking his head the young male just sighed, "Alright...1...2...3..." Before they could protest he snapped his fingers and all the hail from the heavy air let loose.

The Espeon though wouldn't feel but a tiny shiver of cold as Tryce reached up to snap her from the vines, "See you next thaw boys." His trademark smirk was aimed at the frozen trio before he shot up into the air with Truffle's in his arms. It was an interesting sight to see with the hybrid's long blue wings lighting up the night sky for a split second before disappearing into the dark.

Tryce wasn't afraid of anyone chasing them, but really he hoped this kid would be okay.

Whoever she is she should count herself lucky I was nearby.

Pinned by the vines wrapped around her, she could only squirm uselessly. She tried to bite at the vines, kicked, clawed, and snarled, but she was caught. A weight settled in her chest, wondering how she’d get out of this mess. A cut on her face was bleeding into her eye, forcing her to squeeze it shut while the other darted around for some sort of plan. Some sort of inspiration. Something...

A voice was the last thing she’d expected. A voice that seemed familiar, and tugged at her gut. It couldn’t be... She tried to twist around, but the vines held her tight with her back to the new arrival. The air... Cold?

She yelped when she was yanked down, and curled up in the protecting arms. The scent wasn’t right... The voice was a little deeper... She peeked out when she realized they hadn’t landed after the jump... Tryce wasn’t a flying type! Her face snapped up around to see who was saving her, and her chest clenched. Her white and purple gaze slid around, watching the powerful wings. He looked like... an older Tryce... but with wings. ...That made no sense!! Besides... Tryce would have let her know he was back, right?

Irritated with herself for letting herself get her hopes up, she huffed and poked her savior’s chest. “Hey! You can land now!” Everything was sore from being smacked against the ground, especially the wrapped leg, and she wanted to clear the blood from her eye. And.. she wanted a better look at the guy carrying her. He looked so much like... but how could it be?!

Tryce was enjoying the night air in silence when the Espeon's protest broke through. Raising an eyebrow the young male twisted in the air once more before flying low over some trees towards the forest. This seemed like a good area to land in with less eyes to watch them. Tucking his wings against his body Tryce fell quickly towards the ground and only raised his wings one last time to soften the landing.

"This good enough for you?" He questioned looking around the small meadow that he had managed to get into, "Unless you would rather me take you back to the city streets where those guys were?" Seriously what type of girl had such luck to attract such trash? His golden gaze skimmed over her quietly. There's just no way.

Still she was injured and that was more important than any small details, "Can you even walk on your own with that leg of yours?" He paused and gently laid her on the ground. While he did though he noticed the blood around her face and slowly took a finger to gently wipe it clear from her face. She was super close to him and he was certain that if he let out a breath it would chill her face. Yet in less than a moment later he was away from her again and wiping the blood on the wet grass nearby.

Now that she wasn’t under threat of being pounded to a pulp, she was ducking her head to hide a tiny smile. This made her think of another time she’d been carried away... And, really, flying was pretty fun~ When they landed, she snorted and started to turn to try to get herself down, though it was a futile motion. “Yeah, I suppose this will have to do,” she muttered sarcastically. The guy’s own snarky question earned him a hard stare. “..Take me back there, and I’ll bite your face off,” she threatened. Honestly...

“Of course I can walk! Was walking fine before those bozos showed up,” she announced firmly, lifting her chin slightly as she was set down. Really, she was a little concerned about trying to stand back up after being thrown around, but there was no way she’d show that much weakness. She flinched back in surprise when the hand came up to her face, though she calmed down when all it did was wipe the blood away. “..thanks, Try-” Stopping herself short, she turned her gaze away with irritation. The guy really did look like Tryce... “So, what are you, anyway? Umbreons don’t usually have wings.”

Tryce just quirked an eyebrow at the threat. Bite his face off? Kids really were getting more original today, "Wouldn't you have to be able to reach it first?" He mused quietly measuring her height to his own tall, lanky body. At least she had plenty of spunk that was for certain. It would probably take a lot to get the kid down. Almost reminded him of another one...

The hybrid only shook his head lightly at her protests. If she was walking so fine how did they catch up to her so easily? What a stubborn kid. She probably would be six feet under and still refusing help even then. His thoughts stumbled to a halt at the familiar syllable of his name. Try what? Tryce frowned thoughtfully, "Try what? Skipping over you next time cause you can handle it or try some restaurant? I do like new foods."

His teasing jokes died down at her questions, "What am I?" The hybrid smirked, "Alive I suppose. I'm not really a umbreon either." At least not fully. He tucked a stray strand of hair back, "But I'm not fully a legendary either. It's a strange life."

Lips pressing as her height, or lack thereof, was teased, Truffles huffed and started to push herself upright. Her wrapped leg stuck out while she balanced on her hands and one knee, and shoved up with a small jump of sorts to get her foot under. She experimentally put a little weight on her wrapped leg and winced. Those jerks had made her leg sore again.

Her ears perked at the questions, looking at the adult a moment before snorting and turning away. He really... “Try buggering off,” she grumbled. He reminded her too much of Tryce, and that was irritating. He even acted like Tryce! She shook her head. "Well, since you seem to enjoy being so helpful, how about you flutter us closer to town?” She glanced back, eyes narrowed slightly. She wouldn’t admit to wanting the help, but she couldn’t deny that she’d prefer to get to cover sooner rather than later; and with a sore leg, it would be much later if she tried it on her own.

His keen gaze caught everything as a thief should so the wince did not escape notice. Was this kid really going to make it back on her own? Don't tell me I'll have to house another one for the night. A phantom of a smile crossed his features at the thoughts. The more he lingered here the more this kid reminded him of her. Surely he hadn't been gone that long though, right?

There was no way.

"I don't know if you want that." He chuckled quietly, "Unless you like stumbling around in the dark like a drunk on your own?" Knowing her that was a definite possibility. Ah, there was the request. But why would she want to get back to town? Was it truly safe there for her?

"Town might not be the best idea. Unless you have a home nearby?" Tryce frowned, "I don't mind going far if you need or even offering some sanctuary for the night. Last thing I need is some kid's death on my conscious." He shrugged lightly as if to brush off the thought, "But just tell me what you want since I'm not your parent after all."

Lips pressing, she frowned and looked away. “Home is a relative term, I guess,” she muttered. A break from looking at the same walls day in and day out would be nice. Aatami might worry, but as long as he didn’t stop by the apartment until later... “Oy, I ain’t just some kid!” She huffed, crossing her arms tightly. She grumbled a little under her breath, and sighed heavily. “Fine. I guess someplace different ta sleep tonight wouldn’t be a bad idea.” She limped a couple steps closer to the adult. “Where we going?”

"Isn't it always?" The hybrid smirked, "Some have many homes, it just depends on where they're at currently." What was that weird saying? Home was where the heart was...that was it, right? Such an odd idea. For him a home was just a place where he could store his few belongings and sleep at night.

Raising an eyebrow he looked at her in disbelief, "You agreed so easily?" Wow. What if he had ulterior motives? "You really shouldn't be so easily trusting, but you're fortunate. I'm no bad guy." For her at least.

"You'll find out." Suddenly he was moving and she was up in his arms again, "Either way let's get out of here before we find ourselves with more company than we can handle." No telling when those goons would be back for this kid. His powerful wings stretched out and with a loud whoosh the two were back into the night air.

The only problem was where to fly. Tryce had a penthouse that he had just bought in the city, but the place wasn't set up yet....none of the others would take too kindly to him flying in with some random girl either. Might have to go to that place then. It would be a long flight, but at least the girl would have a place to rest her head for a bit.

Many homes... She didn’t see herself as having many homes. She had the sanctuary. The apartment... wasn’t truly home.

Truffles sighed heavily at the hybrids’ voiced surprise. “Good grief! Help me or don’t, make up your mind!” she growled irritably. Man, this guy! He did have a point though. Perhaps it was because he reminded her so much of... well, whatever. Didn’t matter. It didn’t look like the umbreon she knew was ever coming back...

She held tight as they flew up into the air, and she looked around to enjoy the view and watch where they were going. She didn’t even notice how heavy her eyelids were though. Between the cool breeze soothing her skin and the comforting hold, she fell asleep to recharge after the knocking around she’d taken.
