I am also very much looking forward to this. I can't wait to see the rest of the cast. ...Azura, get a PS3 already! *flails arms around* Sell your soul or something, I don't know! I'm just kidding. I don't endorse sale of souls to demons ( unless it's Crowley, anyway).

The main character looks like Collete and Lloyd merged together, like clothes and everything. xd
Other than that the two characters they've shown so far look pretty generic, I dunno maybe other games have spoiled me (last Tales of game I played was Vesperia, plus i've been playing mostly western games nowadays) sweatdrop
Plus I don't have a PS3 (nor do I really want one right now)
bah, I just sound like a jaded gamer now don't I? crying

Two characters revealed, one of each gender... Here's hoping they don't end up together in the end! *platonic ships ahoy*
Chibi, I definitely recommend the PS3 Tales games. Of course, I'm not the one getting you systems, so it's up to you.
Anyway, I'm just glad that I don't have to (not have to, but you know what I mean) think about obtaining a PS4 yet! Sure, there's Kingdom Hearts 3, but I'll need a 3DS to even think about catching up with that series.

Looks like there are some Arthurian elements to this. I mean, Lady of the Lake Sanctuary, where there's a holy sword? Anyway, this is looking neat so far. I wonder how the Divine party members will work with their being unable to be seen by most people? That could make interactions with major NPCs an issue.

I am definitely excited about this game. Despite getting a PS4, the games I am most excited about this year are on the PS3. This being one of them. I am avoiding learning too much about it though, as I like being surprised. smile
|

I know this is just pure speculation, but maybe Zestiria might be in the distant past or future of the world of TotA . . ?

But no, Zestiria is entirely unrelated to any other games. It takes place in its own world.
Lots of Zestiria updates can be found in this Tumblr`s tag!
Hm, since the last time anyone said anything...a bunch of new characters have been introduced. Edna, Lyla, Dezel, Zabida, and Martran. The info on Martran is kinda giving me femme-Kratos vibes. xd
Slay will also have a "Kamui Mode" in which he fuses with one of the Divine. The example shown is a form he takes when he fuses with Lyla, a Fire Divine.

When I think back on it, Kosuke Fujishima does incorporate some design elements from older characters into his new ones. For instance, Luke has similar design elements to Zelos, before Luke cut his hair, obviously. I know my reaction to Dezel's weapon of choice was kind of . . . befuddling. However, this does not mean that I'm against it as a weapon. I know too well that games rely on basic weapons like swords, shields, staves, guns, wands and so one. However, I like it when they either introduce a weapon that's either completely out-of-the-ordinary, a weapon that's barely given the time of day or a combination of two or more weapons. It's why I adore Genis' kendama, Colette's chakrams, Pascal's shotgun staff, Hubert's dualblade and Malik's bladerang.
